Classic Z car has been professionally converted and customized to an extremely high driver quality standard... ready for cruises or local shows. All the custom work including body, interior, drivetrain, and suspension have been redone with great attention to detail. This Z is excellent all around. Looks, runs, feels, and drives fantastic. FAST and smooth. Excellent weekend cruiser, daily driver, or addition to any collection. Body is super straight with no rust or collision damage that I can see. Fit and finish are excellent. Excellent quality custom repaint presents beautifully with only minor blemishes. Floors were patched at some point with Fiberglass... theyre solid and look ok but not on par with the rest of the car. Not bad enough for me to replace but could be done at some point if desired... replacement pans and rails are around $1000 including labor if wanted. Seems and rubbers are great... Pics tell the story here. HIGH END Custom Interior is Excellent as well. Panels, carpet, and headliner all look great...Custom leather seats and panels are excellent. A 1974 Datsun 260z one of a kind custom grill with drilled in lights that could be converted to LEDs, custom made fiberglass hood scoop with a metal hood, billet aluminum fuel tank, Chevy v8 small block with a 350 turbo transmission. Tires: 235 rear & 215 front. Actual miles on chassis is comparably different than on drive train. If you are looking for an original Datsun then this is just the opposite. This car is a roaring beast that has been modified! Starts like a champ every time, every time!! Accel distributor, after market gauges, gt racing steering wheel, pacer racing wheels with hex bolt locking covers. This car will need floors put in soon though in which it comes with 2 newly cut bright silver sheets of cold rolled steel 24"x48" 12gauge. The 260z frame is heavier than a 240z but lighter than a 280z. The drive train swap is ideally suited for this model Z frame. This vehicle comes with a brand new 800 cold cranking amp battery that is still under warranty, new FlowMaster mufflers that will need to be installed if you choose to do so. The car needs some TLC, so please ask before you commit to your bid/offer. I have resolved some issues but there are things that will need done to it before it is a sure daily driver. Currently it is registered with antique plates. I will try to post a video of the car if I get a chance to do so this week... This sweet thing here was manufactured on 12/1974 which makes it the better 260z. Previous owner cleaned, re-gasket, and oiled the dual Hitachi emissions inspection carburetors not too long ago. With fuel, the car ran. And very well might I add. The floors have some cancerous areas but are very strong overall. The trunk, a few spots on the body, and wheel wells have some rust. The car has original 70's Western wheels, the front and rear bumpers, not pictured or mounted, as well as original electric and mechanical fuel pumps (260 had both). Up for sale is a 1974 Datsun 260z. No rust as its been a California car all it's life. Not too many of these still out there without rust...esp in NY. I purchased it and had it shipped from San Francisco, CA last year. Everything is documented in a binder from 1974. Car is garaged and has not seen the winter. Reason for sale is to get cash for downpayment on a home. 58,xxx miles on an RB20DET engine. Inline 6 cylinder turbocharged engine professionally swapped by Innovative Tuning in Buffalo, NY. This is a big upgrade from the stock engine which was also an inline 6 that was 2.6L on carburetors. The RB20DET was used in Nissan Skylines in Japan. My goal was to preserve the beautiful body of the S30, but upgrade to a more modernized engine that could drive right after starting while preserving the Nissan spirit. Many other parts not in pics will come with the car including the rear fiberglass bumper (unpainted 240Z style). This 1974 Datsun 260Z certainly qualifies. The purity of the original Z-car's shape is undeniably attractive, and the classic long nose profile is more Jaguar E-Type than Datsun functional, and the stretched wheelbase to add a back seat doesn't hurt the look one bit. Fit and finish are quite good, and the reputation that Japanese cars earned was based largely on cars like this that were worlds better than their domestic competition and it's noticeable today. The rubber bumpers remain in good condition with no cracking or fading and there's still enough chrome on it to look dressed up but not '70s goofy. The black vinyl interior is 100% original and remains in decent condition with plenty of life left in it. The seats show only moderate wear, with a few splits in the driver's seat, but the foam underneath remains firm and comfortable. The passenger's seat and rear seat are in excellent condition, as you'd expect, and the carpets have been protected by heavy-duty rubber mats, so they're tidy, too. All the gauges are fully functional, including the auxiliary gauges on the top center of the dash, which are a styling cue that still in use on Z-cars today. An automatic transmission, along with the larger engine and back seat, were concessions to American tastes, but it also makes the car comfortable and a first-class long-distance cruiser. For the most part, this car doesn't deviate much from the original spec, and even the original radio is still in the dash. Under the hatch, you get a good-sized trunk with nice carpets that haven't been backed by the sun. Datsun knew that the 260Z needed to be competitive, so the 2.6 liter inline-six is a gutsy powerplant that revs smoothly and delivers impressive torque. Thanks to nicely tuned twin side-draft carburetors, it starts and idles beautifully, and pulls through the gears with a musical tenor that you'll enjoy every time you fire it up. The engine bay is tidy and clean, showing signs of conscientious maintenance throughout its life and plenty of recent parts. The big orange air cleaner gives it a purposeful look and there aren't many aftermarket upgrades, suggesting that this car has always led an easy life. The 3-speed automatic transmission slips through the gears almost telepathically, and suspension is supple yet athletic, showcasing the car's grand touring mission. It rolls on a handsome set of factory alloys wearing 205/75/14 blackwall radials that fill the fenders just right. The same things that made the original Z-car popular when it was new makes it a fabulous collector piece today: great performance, fun handling, and reliable mechanicals.
