The car was built to race a Milwaukee Tool battery powered Bel Air on a episode of Monster Garage, which airs on the Discovery channel. Discovery wanted the Bel Air to race a Sinister Mopar and this is how this car came to be a TV car. { There is a DVD of the episode of Monster Garage where the cars race, and it goes with the car along with magazines showing this car} This car was born a 1970 Coronet and has been upgraded to a 1970 Dodge Super Bee 426 Hemi recreation! They started the project by removing the whole stock front suspension and throwing it a away in favor of a Magnumforce tubular K-member and there lightweight upper and lower control arms. This knocks of a tremendous amount of weight of the nose and greatly improves the cars balance. There are also custom BIG front and rear sway bars to keep the heavy weight Dodge from sloshing around. Thanks to Trick suspension and adjustable 10 position coil-over shocks on all four corners, and sits notable lower then a stock machine, and was enhanced with the addition of Wheels Vintiques 18" Magnum 500- style wheels and low profile Nitto drag radials. There is a "Strange Engineering" Dana 60 rear end out back suspended on "Super Stock" springs and hidden behind all FOUR wheels is a 13" Wilwood dilled & slotted rotors with Monster calipers holding six pistons. For power the Super Bee uses a 426 Hemi motor with a single four Holley carburetor to ease maintenance and reliability. The torque Monster Hemi is mate to a built 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission with a 2500 stall and is held in place with a Magnumforce designed system of buffered engine plates. The plates mount the Hemi rigidly to the forward legs of the cars roll cage, tying everything together up front in a nice tight fashion. The bars themselves are welded to the shock towers to add more reinforcement to the whole chassis, and buffer plates hold the Hemi level while insulating the shimmy from the car and thus greatly reducing the overall shaking of the car which is typical of vehicles using simple straight mount motor plates. There is a boat load of chrome and a healthy amount of polished aluminum, and for comfort and reliability sake a GM style electric alternator, Vintage air conditioning, power steering, power rack and pinion, Dakota orange digital dash, custom steering wheel, two tone black & rust interior, custom sound system and more! This car was also in Mopar muscle and Mopar collector guide and the magazines will go with the car. A large poster board featuring this car and the DVD of the TV show Monster Garage with Jesse James racing this KILLER Mopar twice and losing both times! Re listing with a buy it now. Had 180 watchers and $750.00 away from my reserve. Last listing. Ebay is expensive. 1969 Dodge Coronet 500 Beautiful "Fire Bronze Metallic" with saddle interior. Built in Los Angeles and lived in Arizona most of its life. It was stored by the original owner from 1975 to 1992 in dry indoor storage. He sold it to the second owner who drove it, did some work on it (tranny, etc.) till 1999 when it was sold it to the guy in Mass. who bought it while visiting family in Mesa, AZ. in 1999. Shipped it back, had lots a work professionally done to the car as a “father son project” in 2001 & 2002, Fresh paint (in the original color) “Bronze Fire Metalic”, new Legendary Interior done perfect, and so on, drove it until 2004, son moved away, then stored it till I found it a few months ago. Been stored away for 30 years of its life. With all the history said… I have for sale an incredibly clean, original, matching numbers Mopar. Still has factory paint and "build markings" under hood, trunk, door jambs and areas that weren’t sprayed when re-painted and those areas are still shiny and nice. It has its matching numbers 318 CI motor now with a 4bbl. and the 904 tranny. Motor runs perfect, shifts perfect, drives perfect and looks awesome. It has power brakes, power steering, tinted windows, factory A/C, not in car (I only have the radiator part), remote side mirror to name a few options. I have included a pic of the fender tag decoded to check it out. Everything works as it should, lights, blinkers, horn, gages, heat, etc. New rear drums and shoes, new gas tank, fresh re-built carburetor, battery, tune up, exhaust was new a few years back with Flowmasters “Car sounds Great”, Hurst Floor shifter. I have and included with the car, its original Intake and 2 bbl. carb., Valve covers, Air cleaner, radiator for the A/C, and misc. things that were taken off at some point. Very hard to find a cleaner survivor. The underside of the car is incredible, as well as trunk, under hood, door jambs and so on. Unfortunately ebay only allows 24 pics and that’s not enough to show this car off so I took a video and have supplied a link to it. That gives a great feel for the car. I almost forgot, there’s only one thing about the car. It has a momentary contact button under the dash to crank the starter, maybe installed for security? Turn the key on, hit the button and go. Remember the paint is 15 years old but still looks beautiful, no scratches or anything like that. I had it professionally buffed and it came out very nice. Easy car to clone into a R/T or Super Bee and throw in a 440 and away you go. This is all easily done to this car, but I like it the way it is. This is a get in and go car. Needs nothing. Video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qflTvJvb5Po If you want more pics or have any questions send me a e-mail with your phone #. I am here to discuss any questions or gladly show the car to any serious interested buyers. Any questions, please ask prior to bidding. There is a $1000.00 non-refundable deposit required upon purchase. I have a Mass Title with a Q1 bill of sale so it can go anywhere. I am more than happy to help load with any transport outfit you may choose. I've sold many cars on E-bay over the years and positive feedback from every buyer. Thank You in advance. This car has had a full resto and was done back to the factory colors inside and out. It features a '71 model 440 engine that runs great. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the Dodge, but first we would like to tell you a little about us. Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website. We will start off with the exterior of the Coronet. Down the sides it's laser straight with good gaps and fit of all the panels. Everything is covered in the Correct Y4 Gold Metallic that's done in Base/Clear and is accented by the Black Tail Stripe and Black Vinyl Top. The paint has a deep rich shine and is slick to the touch with all the jams and in the trunk being nice as well. This '69 has the blackout grill and black insert around the tail lights as well. The bumpers look like new and all the glass is good along with the seals. All the weather stripping appears to have been replaced at the time of the resto. This Coronet is sitting on a set of Magnum 500 15x7 Up front and 15x10 in the rear with new tires. Next, we will take a look at the interior of the RT. On the inside it's done in factory black. It has new seat covers and door panels. Also, the headliner and carpet has been replaced. When you look at the console it's correct with the factory shifter. Looking at the dash it's all correct down to the AM radio. The only change is a set of under dash gauges. This Coronet does retain the seat belts front and rear. Finally, we will take a look at the driveline of the Dodge. Under the hood it's powered by a '71 model 440 that has a Holley Aluminum Intake and Carb along with Chrome Valve Covers and Breather. The trans is a 727 Automatic that's mated to an 8 " Rear End. This Coronet has dual exhaust and is factory Power Steering Car with 4 wheel drum brakes. They added an MSD ignition box and an aftermarket coil. When you put this RT up on a lift you are sure to love the flor pans and frame as they are clean and very solid. Free from all the nonsense add-ons that have increasingly clouded our driving experience for the better part of five decades, the car is tailor-made to be one of the most exclusive and uninhibited classics on American roads. And in addition to highly desirable aesthetics that are the direct result of a 15-year, $100K restoration, it features original Hemi power that's backed by an original TorqueFlite 3-speed and correct Hemi suspension. If you're in the market for some incredible investment grade muscle that's poised to rise in value, here's your next prospect! BODYWORK/TRIM The beneficiary of a 15-year, $100K restoration that was completed in the Summer of 2015, this fully sorted Dodge mixes killer street presence with classic MoPar attitude. That reboot began with a partially restored body that was sandblasted all the way to bare metal. That metal revealed a solid fuselage that, after the addition of a new trunk pan and a few patches, was massaged and block-sanded into a collection of virtually flawless surfaces. Once those surfaces were completely clean and fully prepped, their all-business demeanor was reanimated in smooth 2-stage that reflects correct Bright Blue Metallic pigment. And today, the car rolls as one lust worthy classic that's ready to show AND go! Every bit of this B-Body's bright ornamentation appears straight and presents well. And while it's really hard to determine whether all those baubles and bolt-ons are original, they certainly look nice! At the front of the car, a restored grille hangs a bright "R/T" script between four halogen headlamps, a clean chrome bumper and crystal clear parking lights. Behind that grille, correct fender-mount turn signals frame a silver-detailed hood that flows to a factory antenna and satin-finish windshield wipers. Behind that hood, correctly tinted glass founds pristine stainless trim beneath correct drip rails and a correct driver's mirror. Below that glass, a sculpted profile anchors traditional Chrysler door handles and dent-free rocker guards between small "HEMI" emblems, bright "R/T" scripts, small marker lamps and fresh wheel frames. And at the back of the car, a satin valance hangs ornate taillights and another "R/T" script between polished exhaust tips, a second chrome bumper and a correct bumblebee stripe. ENGINE Toss this coupe's light hood and you'll find an original, 426 cubic inch Hemi V8 that's authenticated by a famous 2468330 casting number and matching partial VIN. As Plymouth's top option for power hungry gearheads, Chrysler's legendary elephant block utilizes cast iron heads, an oversquare bore, a forged steel crank, forged steel rods, forged aluminum pistons and a hydraulic cam to twist stout 10.25 to 1 compression into a stated 425 horsepower and 490 lb./ft. of torque. All that high performance hardware spins in a glossy, Hemi Orange block that hangs attractive, Organisol-coated valve covers over correct, low-restriction exhaust manifolds. A perfect mixture of fuel, and oxygen is supplied by a polished and decaled air cleaner, correct Carter carburetors and a correct aluminum intake. Compression is sparked by Chrysler Electronic Suppression cables, snapped onto a correct points distributor. And resultant combustion is cooled by a big, 26-inch radiator that's fitted with pliable hoses via old school squeeze clamps. Visually, the body-matched engine compartment is clean and predictably impressive. Thanks to the car's thorough rebuild, the big mill performs just as well as when it rolled out of the showroom. A roster of correct and restored details includes items like factory decals, a familiar Chrysler washer reservoir and a reproduction MoPar battery. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Slide under this solid B-Body and you'll find a virtually spotless chassis that's framed by original factory undercoating. At the center of those bones, an original A727 TorqueFlite, which hangs a correct PK2801544K part number beneath a matching partial VIN, spins power to a correct 8.75-inch axle. That spirited driveline rides in a correct, completely restored Hemi Suspension, which is fitted with correct power steering. Stops come courtesy of correct heavy-duty power drum brakes. Exhaust is handled by upgraded, 3-inch tubes, which bend around an H-shaped crossover and brash Flowmaster mufflers. And everything rolls on Bright Blue Metallic steelies, which twist correct F70-15 Goodyear Speedway redlines around brilliant fratzog center caps. INTERIOR Swivel this Dodge's level doors and you'll find a correct White on Blue interior that's functional, straightforward and very livable. Correct, headrest-free seats are wrapped in pliable vinyl covers that display hardly any signs of wear. Between those seats, a correct console, complete with an ornate shifter, surfs stain-free carpet that's protected by color-keyed, "R/T" branded floor mats. At the sides of that carpet, white door panels look sublime inside correct, Light Blue Metallic frames. In front of those panels, a modernist dash seats sweeping telemetry and a correct tachometer next to a familiar Dodge Solid State. In front of the driver, a glossy steering wheel laps a satin horn bar. And behind the passengers, a nicely finished trunk hides a correct jack and spare tire between a plaid mat and new decal. HISTORICAL INFORMATION Since our sale includes both an original Broadcast Sheet and an original fender tag, there's no questioning this Coronet's highly accurate restoration. It does carry a strong running 383, a 4-speed manual gearbox, plus a great color combination, which all adds up to a car that doesn't take itself too seriously and still delivers on its original promise of accessible performance. In an era filled with creative paint names, the yellow paint on this Super Bee didn't get anything more exciting than "Yellow," but that's OK because it looks fantastic. Somehow the combination of the subtle color and the outrageous hood scoops and bumble bee stripe out back makes it look even more sleek and aggressive and it really should be no surprise why these cars were a runaway success when they were new. The repaint and bodywork are a few years old but it looks awesome, particularly with the blacked-out hood treatment and that giant hood scoop. The finish shines up well, body gaps are par for the Mopar course, and the paint has a correct period look. Those aforementioned hood scoop proudly wears 'MOPAR' decals and the Super Bee emblem that's part of the bumblebee stripe out back is crisply rendered. The blacked-out grille seems to work even better with light colors and from behind the oval exhaust tips and Super Bee emblems give everyone else something to admire before you pull away for good. The black bench seat interior isn't glamorous, but it looks great inside the Super Bee shell and workmanship is excellent in every way. Factory bench seats were treated to reproduction seat covers and the door panels were restored to match. Factory-style black carpets include details like the driver's heel pad and you already know we love the look of a 4-speed shifter just poking out of the transmission tunnel like that. The small-diameter steering wheel focuses your attention on the Equus tach, which is located in just the right spot to allow unhindered views of the original gauges, and there are the usual aftermarket dials neatly installed under the dash. A modern AM/FM/CD stereo fits neatly in the original slot and the trunk is neatly finished with gray "mouse fur" upholstery that isn't exactly OEM but looks right. There's a strong-running 383 cubic inch V8 under the hood, and the Super Bee is easily recognizable with that big oval air cleaner up top. Smooth torque is the name of the game and the car launches with authority around town and cruises easily on the highway. A few dress-up parts like the finned Mopar Performance valve covers make it look good, and underneath that air cleaner there's an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor on a high-rise intake manifold. It's a strong runner, and we like the 383s a lot because they love to rev and they're virtually indestructible. The 4-speed manual transmission never even blinks at the torque channeling through it and the long-tube heders and new Flowmaster exhaust system sound great, as they always do behind a Chrysler big block. Also take a moment out check out the floors, which are in original condition and those Magnum 500 wheels, which carry fat BFGoodrich T/A radials. Fast and fun, this very attractive Super Bee under-promises and over-delivers in a lot of ways. And along the way, you might also discover that it's a smart buy. To start with, let me first say that I am listing this ’69½ Dodge M-Code Super Bee for a well-known classic and muscle car dealership and in doing so, I will be acting as an agent for this dealership. The owner, who is a friend and someone that I have known for over 20 years, founded his dealership in 1996 and has been a veteran of the car business for over 30 years. All of his vehicles are chosen for the highest standards and quality. A careful and complete analysis is done on every one before they offered for sale. If you want an honest and complete description via telephone, please feel free to call Roland at 603-361-3693. As an FYI, the Super Bee is located in Manchester, New Hampshire just 15 miles from the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. I understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, for the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, I feel that there is never too much information. As to myself, I am not a dealer, just a (65) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I am retired from managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback which is 100% with (1,139) transactions. Many of those have been muscle cars which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland and Australia. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS ARE WELCOME WITH A DOWN PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL AND THE BALANCE VIA WIRE TRANSFER ONLY. Some History: Just some quick history on the Super Bee. GM divisions had been doing it for years, but it wasn't until 1968 that the two MOPAR divisions, Dodge and Plymouth, began to engage in a bit of sibling rivalry. The result was the Dodge Super Bee, a direct competitor to Plymouth's Road Runner. Although a capable budget muscle car, it never was as successful as the Road Runner, which truly must have hurt. Dodge watched as Plymouth launched their budget muscle car, the Road Runner, in the fall of 1967 as a 1968 model. Already upset that Dodge had coined the "road runner" name in a 1967 Coronet ad, Dodge responded by launching its own budget muscle car. Based on the redesigned Dodge Coronet pillared coupe, Dodge looked to its Scat Pack symbol and released its new model in the spring of 1968 as the Super Bee. The $3,027 base price was $131 more than the Road Runner, which used the same basic chassis. Curb weight was nearly identical, and both used the same engines, so performance was almost identical. The standard engine was the 335hp four barrel 383 cid V8 that borrowed cylinder heads, camshaft and induction system from the Magnum 440. The 426 Hemi was the only engine option, but at nearly $1,000 more, it clashed with the budget nature of the Super Bee and only 125 were ordered. The low price meant minimizing amenities, and although the Super Bee borrowed the Rallye gauge package from the Charger to edge out the Road Runner, a tachometer was still a $38 extra. A heavy duty suspension, brakes, four-speed manual transmission with Hurst Competition Plus shifter, and red-line wide oval tires were standard. The low price didn't mean low profile, and the Super Bee had bumble bee racing stripes circling the tail, and a big Super Bee emblem hovering on the rear fenders. The grille was finished in black matte and the hood had a decorative power bulge. The wheel lips and the rear body panel were accented with thin bright moldings. Inside, the Super Bee had door-to-door carpeting, pleated vinyl seats and door panels, and a standard bench seat. The big news for MOPAR muscle car fans in 1969 was a new optional engine in several cars, including the Super Bee. MOPAR engineers took the existing 440 cid V8 and replaced the single Carter four barrel carb with three Holley two-barrel carbs on an Edelbrock Hi-Riser manifold, creating the Dodge 440 Six Pack (Plymouth called it the 440+6). Only the center carb was used for normal driving, but slamming on the fun pedal opened all six carbs for a combined 1,375 cfm rush. Hemi valve springs, a hotter cam, magnafluxed connecting rods, and other improvements helped boost output to 390 bhp. A Hurst four speed manual transmission was standard. Torqueflite automatic was optional, but disc brakes, air conditioning, and cruise control were not allowed. The Super Bee Six Pack came with one of the wilder hoods in muscledoom. The lift off hood was made of fiberglass, had a matte black finish, four NASCAR tie down pins, and a large air scoop molded right in with Six Pack written on the sides. The all business look was completed with standard black steel wheels, unadorned except for chrome lug nuts. The 440 Six Pack was a $463 option in 1969, and 1,907 were produced. The Six Pack could keep up with a Hemi up to 70 mph and came with a Hemi grade suspension that turned the Super Bee into a decent handler. So let’s get right to this rare Six-Pack Super Bee that I am auctioning here today on eBay Motors. Restored in 2000 from the ground up, by a retired teacher from northern Maine who has a passion for Mopars. He meticulously restored this rare Dodge while maintaining its factory appearance with no modifications. It has only been driven approximately 800 miles since the restoration. Driven to local car shows, this Super Bee has won 1st place trophies everywhere it went. The only word that sufficiently describes this A-12 Six Pack is: “AWESOME” She comes with an original Broadcast sheet and the original fender tag (Included is a new reproduction fender tag). Exterior: She is wearing a wicked nice reproduction Six Pack hood that fits great. Comes with metal hood props and riveted hood pin tie downs that are not scratched or worn. It's not just the big V8, or the valuable options. This one gets you with the details, like unique paint that shows off all the square-jawed angles we all love on this piece of American muscle. White is particularly nice when it's done correctly. The respray of the factory color leaves this coupe looking clean and pristine. Dodge really got the design right in '66. This classic has a wide stance that can make this intermediate look full-sized. There's plenty of style touches like the creases along the side that flare out on the quarters, and that cool taffy-pulled rear end that couldn't space out D-O-D-G-E any wider if it tried. Best of all, a subtle custom pinstripe package helps highlight every aggressive thought that was sculpted into the sheetmetal. The interior design proves that the Chrysler stylists were at the top of their game in the '60s. This is further highlighted by a professional restoration of the headliner and intricate seats. In between the front buckets is a center console with the highly stylized gearshift. There's a dashboard full of real gauges, not "idiot" lights (a nice upgrade), and a grippy steering wheel like the three-spoke style usually seen the Hemi muscle cars. But this one is built for comfort, that's why it has everything from heat/defrost, to power steering. There's even plenty of desirable spares (including a correct AM/FM radio) that come with the car. The 440 cubic-inch V8 in the engine bay is not the original motor, but the swap was for a very good reason. This was built with a 318 and sold to a doctor who made rural house calls. The original engine failed on him in 1967, and so he figured while the car was being fixed, he'd have a factory 440 motor installed. The engine proved to be strong and reliable enough that this is the powerplant still in the car today. In 1997 this Coronet went through a restoration that overhauled the engine, and included a new cam, chain, bearings, and rings. It now makes an awesome rumble from a Flowmaster dual exhaust. The three-speed automatic transmission was also rebuilt, and they added a 2,800 RPM stall converter. But this restoration went much further. It included an entire fuel system upgrade, new brakes, new driveshaft, and a 3.23 ratio Sure-Grip limited slip read end was installed. It goes down the road nicely thanks to new brushings and Hemi-sourced torsion bars. This package is capped off with the larger 15-inch cop car wheels, with dog dish ventilated hubcaps. You know there were fewer of these MOPARs produced, compared to the Fords or Chevys back in the 60s. That makes this quick coupe a rare gem with an interesting story. Now all you have to do is stake your claim to it before someone else sees how affordable this Coronet coupe is.
