1972 DODGE DART DEMON 340 FACTORY H CODE CAR E55 HIGH PERFORMANCE ENGINE Fender Tag Rebuilt Drivetrain Restoration Completed in 2008 By Previous Owner Back in the 30’s Chrysler had a parts division for servicing Chrysler products which was named Chrysler Motor Parts. As the years went on the name was shortened to Chrysler MO PAR. By the 1960’s there was only one word that encompassed all 3 brands of Chrysler, Plymouth, and Dodge……that word was MOPAR. And for the people loyal to the brand it became, “MOPAR or NO CAR.” There are NO EXCUSES for the 1972 Dodge Demon. Please study the many pictures provided. Dodge was still dominating the muscle car game in 1972. Just as everyone else was winding down, they were building cars like this 1972 Dodge Demon 340, which didn't rely on Hemi power, but rather the great power-to-weight ratio of a V8-powered Dart. In typical Mopar fashion, this Demon is an extrovert. Top Banana Yellow paint means that this muscular car is impossible to ignore and looks fast just sitting still. Only about 9000 Demons were built in 1972, making this a rather collectable piece of Mopar history, and finding one this well restored is none too easy. For an affordable car, the body was treated to an expensive repaint that shines up beautifully and makes it look great from any angle. Add in the optional hood scoops and Sizzler stripes along the flanks, and it has a traditional Chrysler muscle car look that wasn't just for show, even in 1972. Excellent gaps throughout suggest that this car is not only well-restored, but that it led a rather easy life before it was resuscitated and given a new lease on life. Demon badges were controversial back in the day, but it's nice to see them in place on this car, which gives it a playful personality to go with its bright paint job. Other details like the chrome bumpers and unique slotted taillights help make it stand out among its more famous siblings. Although the Dart was Dodge's economy car, the interior doesn't look low rent in any way, shape, or form. High-back bucket seats wear fresh upholstery that accurately replicates the original stuff and adds to the sporty personality. There aren't a lot of frills, because even back then it was designed to be affordable, but with a woodgrained dash it has a warm, inviting look. The factory instruments are clustered around a rectangular center speedometer, with a tachometer neatly installed on the colum and an oil pressure and temp gauge neatly installed under the dash like it has been there from the start. A AM/FM/cassette stereo was probably installed years ago and looks right in this '70s sportster, and a big Hurst T-handle shifter for the reverse valve body automtic is reminiscent of the pistol-grip handles of yore. The compact Demon is surprisingly practical, too, with a spacious trunk that's nicely finished and includes a full size spare. The heart of the Demon's success was a 340 cubic inch V8, which in the relatively lightweight body made for some impressive performance. Rebuilt with a mild cam inside, Edelbrock intake manifold, and a big Edelbrock 4bbl carburetor, it's a certainty that this car will run better than the high-14s it delivered when it was new. Bright Hemi Orange engine paint contrasts brashly with the yellow inner fenders and firewall, and there's enough chrome inside the engine bay to make things interesting. Long-tube headers and a throaty dual exhaust system, you'll never get tired of running it through the gears. Front disc brake conversion help to stop this awesome street machine The floors are undercoated and orderly,In Summation: Overall a older restoration that has had little road use. This demon was not just restored yesterday put the quality shows due to the fact how well the finish work was! This car is straight and the paint looks great! Get ready for the summer in a real Demon for under 23k!! International Bidders Welcome, Delivery to the port is available. Shipping and Payment: A $500 deposit required at end of auction end. PayPal, Money order, Cash or Cashier's Check only. Car needs to be paid in full within 7 days unless prior arrangements are made. Buyer to arrange and pay for shipping. I will assist with arrangements if needed. Car will not be released until funds have cleared.I recommend Montway.com for Shipping.

1972 Dodge Dart Demon (LM29H1B509xxx) factory 340c.i.(H-code) car with the awesome 5-speed Keisler engineering Tremec TKO-600 transmission. The Demon has power disc brakes, power steering, factory performance hood with stripe, black 340 Demon side stripe and black trunk stripe, original AM radio, factory vinyl top and rallye wheels with BFG tires. The Demon is believed to have 46,010 original miles as stated on the PA title and some older documents from previous owners. The stunning high gloss FE5 Bright Red base/clear paint is the correct factory color. The Demon was restored over the last few years and I just finished up a light restoration from top to bottom, which included the entire engine bay, trunk compartment, show car wet sand/buffing, rallye wheels/tires, full exhaust with factory tips, brand new professionally rebuilt correct date code 1972 340 engine (less than 100 miles), some interior items and many other items (please read details below). All of the body numbers match on the radiator support, VIN tag and on the speaker shelf/trunk divider area. You must check these numbers to authenticate that it is a real 340 Demon. This is an absolutely beautiful car and one of the nicest factory 340 Demons you will find with an excellent restoration and very low miles, great options and the awesome 5 speed overdrive transmission! The Demon was only produced for two years, in 1971 and 1972, therefore production numbers are very low, with few left that are actually factory H-code 340 cars and are in this condition. I also have the factory vehicle owners manual with the clear plastic jacket. PAINT AND BODY The body is in excellent shape and the panels are very straight with excellent seems and panel fit. The super high-gloss deep clear coat shine was just professionally wet sanded with 1500 and 2000 grit paper to achieve the high caliber ultra shine finish. This long process alone took over 40 hours and the finish shows it! The Demons sheet metal is believed to be mostly original with only the quarters, trunk extensions and front floor pans being replaced. The trunk floor, rear floor boards, rockers, fenders, hood, doors and frame rails are super clean and original. The Demon was painted about 2 years ago with base coat/clear coat and is in unbelievable condition… it has that deep wet look shine! If you think it looks good in the photos you need to see it in person! There are NO paint blisters or bubbles and looks fantastic. I am very critical on paint and there are only two extremely minor flaws in the paint, both located below the doors where the rocker meets the quarter at the seam. They are a very small 1” or 2” line in the paint (most of all A-body’s have this). These are extremely minor flaws and are not seen unless you are on your hands and knees. The trunk paint was just done and looks excellent! The underside of the trunk lid, hood and all the jams were done when the car was painted. The doors open and close excellent with the ease of a finger and even the door latches and strikers were cleaned and polished. GLASS, CHROME AND TRIM The glass is in very good original condition with only a few very minor marks. The front windshield is Chrysler stamped and in very good shape (it has had a chip fixed). The original Chrysler side and rear glass is in very nice condition and only the rear glass has a few minor scratches. All windows and locks operate as should. The front bumper is newer and the rear bumper was replaced by the previous owner and in very nice shape; however there are 3 chips in the chrome around the bumper bolt area (must have been overtightened). The top is free of any marks and has excellent chrome. The window trim is very clean and was polished for optimum shine. INTERIOR The interior was re-done with factory/custom seat covers, carpet, door panels, trunk divider, speaker shelf, dash pad, woodgrain on complete dash and sill plates. The factory gauge cluster is very nice condition. All factory gauges work and operate correctly. There are aftermarket water and oil pressure gauges for accuracy. All lighting works as should including the high/low beams, dome light, tail lights, parking lights, turn signals, four-way flashers and license plate light. The factory AM radio also works great! The E-brake, defrosters, heater, fan, horn, speedometer and dimmer switch work as should. The seat covers have the Demon character embroided in the top of the front seats! The original headliner in in decent shape and has some area’s that were repaired. I believe they are finally reproducing these one piece board types now. DRIVE TRAIN / SUSPENSION The new professionally rebuilt date coded 1972 340 makes excellent power, runs very strong through all the gears and sounds great. The original 340 was long gone before I got the car but having a correct date coded 340 is very nice to have. The 340 was completely rebuilt to 1970 340 specs with 9.8:1 compression and a steel crank. We just put the new 340 in on 6-15-15 and it has less than 200 miles on it!!! It has a new Crower solid lift cam (very close to stock) 438/456 lift and 229 duration at .050, solid lifters, adjustable rockers, timing chain, water pump, head gaskets, bored .030 over, TRW Sealed Power forged pistons and rings, recondition rods and crank, Melling oil pump and all new Clevite bearings and brass USA freeze plugs. The new 340 gives an excellent range of power and has the well-needed 17lbs of vacuum to operate the power disc brakes. The 2.02 “J” heads (casting number 3418915 G) have been totally redone with hardened seats, valve job, new guides, seats and springs. All engine parts were made in the USA and not the cheap crap that is out there. I only use the Brad Penn High Performance oil and all the correct break in oil was used on start up and motor is all ready to go! It is one of the best oils on the market and already has the higher Zinc added in for your older cars. The 1972 340 has a casting date of 2-8-72 and engine casting # is 2780930-340-5. The 340 is topped of with a Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock Thunder AVS series 650 cfm carb #1806 with electric choke. It also has the correct factory 340 exhaust manifolds part #’s 3614368 and 3418623. The new aluminum radiator was also just added with the new 340 and also has a fan shroud. The 5-speed Tremec TKO-600 transmission is absolutely incredible!!! It gives you excellent performance from red light to red light and gives you the extra 5th gear for highway cruising keeping your RPM’s very low! This complete kit cost over $4,700, plus labor. I have all the info on it with all the install papers and receipts. The rear end is a 8 1/4 with 4.10 posi center and a casting number of 3723599. It has newer Mopar Performance super stock leaf springs, hangers, bushings and new Monroe rear shocks. The front suspension had a PST kit installed in 2006 and is in great shape. This excellent drive train combo has very good performance and handles awesome in all conditions whether highway or city driving. This is a very tight and excellent smooth running and driving 340 5-speed Demon! This Demon has what everbody wants and sets it self apart from others with being a factory H-code and has power disc brakes, power steering, 5-speed overdrive Tremec, brand new 340 motor and much more! PLEASE COPY AND PASTE OR CLICK THIS LINK TO VIEW ADDITIONAL PHOTOS: https://1972dodgedemon.shutterfly.com/# I typically restore and finish around 10 Mopars a year and have been working on them for more than 25 years and I do every one as they were my own to keep. I put a lot of time, effort, pride and money in the cars that I offer for sale which is evident when viewing one of my cars compared to others for sale. I have a 72 dodge demon 340 for sale it has a strong running and powerful 340 motor that was built by Jan-Cen racing engines some time ago. since then the motor has only ben driven a few hundred miles a year. It has 10.5 : 1 compression a lumpy cam i do knot know specs but it has a choppy idle and revs up past 6 easily. roades lifters, double timing chain, HV oil pump, MDS 6al ignition box with rev limiter, long tube headers, hi flow aluminum water pump, M/T style valve covers, a holley street avenger single plane intake, and a freshly rebuilt holley 4150 750 double pumper carb. motor runs great and sounds even better with duals with backwards cherry bomb glasspacks (loud and snappy sounding) The trans is a 833 four speed with a short style hurst pistol grip shifter. trans and clutch work good as they should the drive shaft is a denys hevy duty steal driveshaft built a few years ago the rear end is a 8 3/4 housing with a 3.23 gear set with a suregrip (posi) new gasket and oil last winter the front end was rebuilt about 8 years ago with control arm bushings tie rods ball joints pit man arm rebuilt firm feel power steering gear box. also front disk 4 piston breaks replaced about 5 years ago with new pads as well. also power breaks. The paint is a base coat/clear coat urethane, always garage kept. go green hi impact color with phoenix graphix decals. the paint and decals look great but ther is a few fine scratches and imperfections. The floors, rockers, and lower quarters have ben replaced. the front fenders are fiberglass. the front wheel wheels have ben removed. The interior has carpet and 2 racing plastic drag race bucket seats with covers their is no rear seat and the area is filled with a carpeted panel. the dash is in good condition but the origional gauges are not hooked up it has auto meter monster tach with shift light, and water, volt, and oil pressure. their is a grant steering wheel. the a pillar interior trim is missing and the headliner trim that goes above the doors on the interior is not installed(it comes with car just not installed). Their is a nice cd player and sony xplode speakers. The demon has a 14 point roll cage, 5 point harness, weld in sub frame connectors. The rear has air shocks and a foam filled fuel cell in the trunk. their is two small holes around the rear driver wheel wheel but trunk is nice and solid. Wheel wels under floor are not done right but it is not visible and dosent hurt anythingThe torque boxes could use repair but are plenty strong as is. Ralley wheels. like new front tires. rear tires are getting worn but they still have a little tread and hold air fine. Car is missing rally wheel center caps. I drive this car every year, once or twice a week no more than 500 miles a year. i take it to many cruise nights every season. the demon could be turned into a affordable drag car, or a nasty street machine without much work. or just use it as a hot street driver and cruise nite queen as i have for the past 10 years. Millage is not accurate (roll over) sold as is. car will need some tlc to make perfect, but is driveable and on the road and has ben for the last 15 years. email me any questions The demon is a true H code car (340) but is not numbers matching. the demon is more race car than stock and i dont think it would make sence to put it back to stock I am selling because I need a biger tractor and some farm equiptment. Otherwise i would not be getting rid of the Demon

Has the original seats and floor mats that are rubber. the original engine (340?) and transmission with factory A/C. This car was driven and parked in same spot since approximately 1991. 1972 DODGE DART DEMON 340 H CODE For sale is my 1972 Dodge Dart Demon with all matching drivetrain, 340 engine with J Heads, original transmission, TX9 paint code (black). The interior was replaced with all new white, with new headliner, dash pad, carpet, center console, door panels, etc. The engine was dressed up for show, but I have all the original parts. It has a new Thermoquad from Jegs, intake, valve covers, air cleaner with factory cut for factory air inducted scoops (rare option). I have the exhaust heat shields, too. Build sheets come with the car, along with 15" Crager wheels and a brand new Flowmaster mufflers. 3:23 gear ratio. No rust anywhere. Floors are solid. As you can see the sizzler stripes on each side, rear and hood are flat black which compliments the car very well. Factory white sizzler stripes come with the car. All front end parts have just been rebuilt with front end alignment. RPM air gap intake and Edelbrock carburetor were recently added new from Jegs. I drove the car from Marion, AR (Memphis, TN area) to Wisconsin to start the Hot Rod Power Tour and came back down to Memphis. The car did great and used no oil. Money was spent on gas only. It's very road worthy. Will not run hot in traffic. This is a very nice collectible Demon 340 made only in 1971 and 1972 because Chrysler came under pressure for using the Demon name. Not many left in this condition. Black paint is still very nice and straight, but not perfect, and has freshly done front and rear bumpers. Car cover included. Clean Arkansas title. Has original owner vehicle identification card and lots of receipts. Fly in to Memphis and drive it home or I will work with shipper of your choice. I try to give an honest description on everythng I sell, as you can read my feedback. I'm selling to pursue other interests. FOR SALE LOCALLY SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AD AT ANY TIME. Thank you. Joe Todd 901-218-9539

Freshly built with just 3 miles on the clock (yep, you read that right), it has been pumped up with a great-running 340, a rebuilt TorqueFlite, and a great paint job that is both subtle and sophisticated. This cool Dart has had a lot of time and money invested to transform it into the gorgeous Demon you see today. 100% rust-free from the start, it was given a full repaint inside and out in the correct GF3 Medium Green by a bunch of guys who clearly knew what they were doing. The finish is dazzling in the sunlight, where the gold undertones of the paint really sparkle, and correct reproduction Demon graphics and stripes were installed at the same time. Factory hood scoops were part of the package (this is a Chrysler muscle car, after all), giving it an aggressive look that will have competitors thinking twice about tangling with this Dart. Correct Demon badges were fitted, and all the chrome and stainless was shined up. There was simply nothing else on the road in 1971 that could compare to a Demon, especially at the price, and it remains true today. Inside, an all-new two-tone green interior was supplied by Legendary and helps bolster the Demon's no-frills street cred. The two-tone upholstery gives it an upscale look, and the rubber floor coverings promise zero maintenance. Glancing at the fender tag, this car was just about as stripped as you could get, although the original owner did specify an AM radio, which remains in the dash. Standard equipment included a pretty comprehensive array of gauges, and an aftermarket A/C setup hangs under the dash, so it looks like it might have been installed by the dealer back in '71. Everything remains in excellent condition, and it's clear that someone really loved this car. No frills, but that was entirely the point of the Demon, and you can easily see how it would be able to catch people unaware. A glance at the fender tag will tell you that this was originally a six-cylinder car, but today there's a built 340 under the hood, and it was built to rock. Finished to look highly authentic, the engine wears proper Hemi Orange paint, and the crinkle finish on the air cleaner and cast aluminum valve covers looks suitably butch. A 4-barrel carburetor feeds the strong-running small block and a set of shorty headers manage exhaust, and there's nothing like the ripping snarl of a highly-wound small block to attract attention. Underneath, the recent restoration is very apparent, as there's no trace of rust or rot anywhere on the chassis and it's beautifully detailed with new parts everywhere you look. The TorqueFlite automatic was rebuilt and feeds an 8.75-inch rear end. It wears cool 15-inch aluminum wheels that look straight out of the pages of Hot Rod magazine and they wear staggered 205/65/15 front and 225/60/15 rear performance radials. With a new-found emphasis on performance and economy, this Demon is the right muscle car for our times. You also won't find a nicer one, because someone spent way out of proportion to the sticker price to make this one of the best.
