182k miles, This car hass my daily driver for a fifty mile round trip commute for over two years now. It has the bullet proof 3.5L engine, not the junk 2.7 found in later years. Brand new radiator and oxygen sensors, the water pump and timing belt were replaced last fall. good tires, Ice cold A/C. Decent body with only minor rust since the car was Ziebart rustproofed when new. The paint and clear coat are above average for the year, with the only paint issue at the right front corner of the roof. I have not sanded and repainted the area as the car is a driver, not a show piece. Thirty minutes and a can of primer would do wonders for the look. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, it is that dependable. The 1999 300m in the background is also listed for sale. I am selling both cars to purchase a nice Chrysler Pacifica. Up for sale is a 1996 Dodge Intrepid ES that I’ve had since march 2000.It had like 48,000 miles on it when I bought it from the original owner in long island.Alot of work was done on the car this year so it’s totally ready to go now.I had an idle problem so I changed the Map Sensor,Idle air control valve and the throttle position sensor which cost me about $120 but it turned out to be the intake manifold gasket repaired at great kills auto for $500.So there’s 3 sensors you won’t have to bother with for along time.The car idle’s fantastic now.Also last summer I had to get 2 new front tires for like $250 and the rear tires are like new so tires are good for a long time. Also last summer 2 engine pulleys were squeaking so I replaced both and 2 new belts was probably $125.i did the work myself.i’ve been repairing cars for like 30 years but I cant fix everything. Air Conditioner and heat work great.The car has 2 power seats in front that work perfect.The car has rear AC and Heat option.All 4 brakes and rotors were changed in 2011 or 2012 when it was like mileage 62000 so the brakes still have like 10 to 15 thousand miles left on them. This car was never used to get to work and was used as a leisure weekend driving car so I only put like 1500 to 2000 miles a year on it and I used my other vehicle for long trips and the intrepid was just a backup emergency car for when the van was broken. I changed the oil twice a year every 1000 miles every spring and fall so most times the oil was coming out clean and golden so very little wear on the engine.look at free Experian's AutoCheck and you’ll see. If your going to use this car every Day to get to work I would get the transmission fluid and filter changed for like $100 cause it hasn’t been done for 15000 miles and it was done at jiffy lube which aren’t that good and don’t use the best fluids I found out. I have the clean title ready for transfer.This car is ready for another 10 years at this mileage once you get a paint job.This is a rare deal mechanic owned car.i don’t need it anymore because I needed something with more room so I got another minivan even though the trunk on this one is huge. 1997 Dodge Intrepid for sale. Car body is beat up and well used (see pictures) and does have a few issues that are listed below. Drove the car for many years but don't have the mechanic skills or the patience to take car of the issues that currently exist. Bought another car before last winter so the Intrepid did sit in a parking lot for most of the winter. The car does start up with no problems and the engine works well. Technically the car is drivable, but not advised without someone who knows what they are doing looking it over first. Perfect for someone with access to a mechanic or to be used for parts. Extra Parts: Radiator: Car had some overheating issues that were at first thought to be the radiator. A used radiator was bought, but the heating issue turned out to be due to blockage. The second radiator ended up not being used.Alternator: Car had some battery issues that turned out to be something else. Alternator was replaced, unsure if the original works or not but is included. After market radio: CD player was installed (see picture) Known issues: Body is beat up, sun damage, dents, rust. See pictures. She is no longer pretty.Car lighter doesn't workNo break pressure: back passenger breaks were installed incorrectly. Should be a simple matter of installing correctly, but could be more then that.AC does not work (was informed it just needed a hose replaced?)Exhaust leakBack driver tire seems aligned a bit off. Not sure if its my vision playing tricks or if there is an issue there, but want it noted just in case. Turn signal works, but when turning right it does need to be held. Driver side tire went flat during the winter and incurred some damage. Currently have replaced it with the spare. Old tire is included, not sure if the damage is fixable or not. If you have any questions please ask away. Full disclosure, I'm not mechanic and I know very little about cars. I have done my best to provide all of the issues that I know about the vehicle but can't promise anything beyond that. Car is being sold AS IS.
