At the sides of that trunk, squared off fins feature modern-looking tail lights. And below that trunk, a second wraparound bumper features cleanly integrated exhaust tips. Powering this spectacular cruiser is an original 331 cubic inch overhead valve V8 that wears a correct VIN stamp, creates a stout 230 horsepower and cranks out a stellar 330 ft./lb. of torque. That's plenty of chutzpah to move this Eldorado down the boulevard with authority, and the big mill is buttery smooth with a distinctive rumble. At the top of the navy blue block, a familiar Cadillac air cleaner swirls wind though a big 4-barrel carburetor. In front of that carburetor, a tagged and rebuilt generator spins fresh V-belts around pliable hoses and correct squeeze clamps. And behind that carburetor, a correct points distributor shoots spark through correct manifolds via high quality Packard Suppression wires. Nothing has been overlooked in this top notch engine bay, and the professionally finished powerplant is complemented by a full assortment of well-planned and well-executed details. Fire is provided by a reproduction Delco yellow cap battery. A glass washer reservoir hangs behind brains for the car's Autronic Eye system. Adding to the appeal and uniqueness of this ride is the warranty card centered on the radiator cradle. And the car's solid inner fenders, fully finished hood and factory firewall are covered in a smooth coat of correct Alpine White paint. Throw this Caddy on a lift and you'll find a super clean undercarriage that's no less spectacular. The car's beefy X-frame , displays a nice coat of gloss black paint. The blue V8 throws torque through an original Hydra-Matic transmission that wears a correct 1954 (54) Cadillac (D ) build stamp. Ahead of that stellar drivetrain you'll find an independent front half that's been painstakingly restored to factory specifications. Behind that stellar drivetrain you'll find a rebuilt rear end that's centered on leaf springs. Braking is handled by four big drums that bring the car to a power-assisted stop with surprisingly little effort. Factory power steering reinforces turns and greatly improves slow speed navigation. And a fresh flex-pipe exhaust system sounds muscular yet luxurious. Above those fully sorted mechanicals, solid, over-restored floors are painted a nice shade of burgundy and provide an excellent backdrop for fresh stainless hardware and new stainless brake and fuel lines. At the corners of those floors, four substantial wire wheels spin meaty white wall rubber around classy Cadillac crests. And all the small details like leak-free shocks, a big stainless fuel tank and a correct starter have been painstakingly located and professionally installed. Loaded with virtually every option in the book, this classic Eldorado's correct red and white interior features a perfect mix of outrageous style and traditional American luxury. The front power and rear bench seats are stuffed with fresh padding, covered in correct Cadillac-embossed leather, and trimmed in pristine stainless brightwork. A year before the fin craze hit critical mass in 1959, Cadillac produced this stunning '58 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. Only 815 of these units were produced during the model year and very few received the high level of attention given to this Alpine White convertible. The car had been cared for by only two dedicated owners before undergoing an extensive frame off restoration in the late '90s. With an original drivetrain, all original sheet metal and extensive documentation this Biarritz is fully functional investment grade Cadillac worthy of any show field. Even sitting still, this convertible makes a big impression. Approximately the same length as a modern Cadillac Escalade EXT, it takes some time to fully consider Harley Earl's design. From the graceful cut of the wheel arches to the dramatic tailfins atop the downswept rear fender line, absolutely every piece of this car was designed to appear in motion at all times. The flowing bodywork is covered in a smooth coat of Alpine White that enhances the cars luxury demeanor. As testament to both its pampered life and expert restoration, there is not a dent or ding to be found on the entire car impressive given how much car there is. The paintwork shows well in even the harshest of lighting and provides a constant reminder of one of the reasons this Caddy has collected so many trophies. Just about everything that left Detroit in the 1950s had a couple hundred pounds of chrome on it but very few automakers applied it with the same charisma Cadillac did. Up front, a full length grille incorporates a grid pattern with semi-rectangular parking lights under the rubber bumper bullets. Above the grille, a golden V sits under a Cadillac emblem centered between four headlights in elegant chrome trim that wraps around the side and extends to the middle of both doors. Behind the doors and above the rocker trim, a series of ten vertical chevron slashes guides the eye towards to extensive brightwork over the rear wheel arches. That trim continues and wraps around to the rear bumper where the vertical strips return to on either side of the license plate frame. Naturally, the taillights sit in chrome bezels and the legendary fins have their own chrome toppers as well. At the top, all glass looks factory fresh and a solid three-piece parade boot covers the convertible top. Under that long hood lives the original 365 cubic inch V8. In its day, this was a top of the line motor utilizing a comfortable 10.25:1 compression ratio to produce an enviable 335hp and 405lb. ft. or torque. The bay has been restored to factory specifications with an eye cast toward contemporary drivability. At the top of the bay, three Rochester two-barrel carburetors bolted to the original intake manifold are hidden by the gold-colored two-snorkel air cleaner cover. The block, cast iron heads and intake wear their correct shade of blue well with the Cadillac name scribed across the valve covers. At the front, A Vintage Air compressor looks at home amidst other accessories including the power steering pump and the Delco-Remy 12-volt generator. Look closely and you can see the convenient front-mount oil filter as well. In front of the radiator, an electric fan has been installed to help keep temperature in check while idling. To the sides, cast iron manifolds channel exhaust gases out through a stainless steel dual exhaust system with angled chrome tips. Behind that V8 is a Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission well suited to casual cruising. It channels power to the live rear axle which in turn spins those polished Sabre wheels wrapped in white-wall tires. The chassis has been rebuilt to factory specifications with a fully independent suspension up front and a four link with coil springs keeping the back end in place. A primitive air ride suspension was available this year but the system was notoriously quirky. Braking comes courtesy of large drum brakes at all four corners. The undercarriage is detailed but not over-restored to the point it can't be driven. As you would probably expect from a vintage luxury car with a 129.5 inch wheelbase, the ride feels cushioned in a way that even modern air ride setups can't replicate. No matter how rough the roads are, this cruiser simply floats over them. Open the elongated doors and a luxurious interior awaits. With miles of red leather, it makes a strong statement when placed against the Alpine White exterior. A beautifully recovered red bench seat welcomes you into command central of this Cadillac. From left to right, the temperature and fuel gauges sit in chrome bezel above the defroster and heater controls. In the center, the speedometer, odometer and gear indicator all sit behind the red rim blow steering wheel. To the right, the clock measures time from another chrome plated surround that sits directly over the vent controls. Follow the chrome trim further and you'll find the original Wonderbar push button AM radio in its original home. Underneath the dash, vents from the Vintage Air system blend in well with the factory interior, leaving many to wonder if it's a stock system or not. Period correct passenger comforts continue in the backseat with individual cigarette lighters and ashtrays on both sides. From the Cadillac-branded floor mats up, every inch of the interior shows like a new car. Documentation for this car is a treasure trove of Cadillac history. There are typical items such as receipts and an album full of detailed restoration pictures. An original owner's manual and separate booklets detailing how to operate the jack and power top are also included. From there, things go to the next level with two primary shop manuals as well as secondary manuals that cover additional information. A large three ring binder contains an original copy of the Master Parts List that details every square inch of this car in amazing detail. To verify its show history, there are two first place awards from the Ault Park Concours d'Elegance as well. At the front, A Vintage Air compressor looks at home amidst other accessories including the power steering pump and the Delco-Remy 12-volt generator. Look closely and you can see the convenient front-mount oil filter as well. In front of the radiator, an electric fan has been installed to help keep temperature in check while idling. To the sides, cast iron manifolds channel exhaust gases out through a stainless steel dual exhaust system with angled chrome tips. Behind that V8 is a Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission well suited to casual cruising. It channels power to the live rear axle which in turn spins those polished Sabre wheels wrapped in white-wall tires. The chassis has been rebuilt to factory specifications with a fully independent suspension up front and a four link with coil springs keeping the back end in place. A primitive air ride suspension was available this year but the system was notoriously quirky. Braking comes courtesy of large drum brakes at all four corners. The undercarriage is detailed but not over-restored to the point it can't be driven. As you would probably expect from a vintage luxury car with a 129.5 inch wheelbase, the ride feels cushioned in a way that even modern air ride setups can't replicate. No matter how rough the roads are, this cruiser simply floats over them. Open the elongated doors and a luxurious interior awaits. With miles of red leather, it makes a strong statement when placed against the Alpine White exterior. A beautifully recovered red bench seat welcomes you into command central of this Cadillac. From left to right, the temperature and fuel gauges sit in chrome bezel above the defroster and heater controls. The original warranty book indicates that Mr. Hays took delivery on November 14th, 1961 from Thomson Brothers Cadillac in Cincinnati Ohio. According to history provided by prior owners the Cadillac was owned by the Hays family for many years and has had one high quality repaint in the original black color. The 36,000 miles showing on the odometer are believed to be original and the cars condition reflects that of a low mileage car. The title states odometer "exempt" because of the vehicles age. I think this is the first time in my life I have ever offered an automobile for sale to the world that has never been for sale before. What I mean by that is, this Eldorado was sold new on June 29, 1967 in Ogallala, Nebraska to a doctor and his wife. As a couple they kept the car until the early 90's. They lived in Florida in the winter months and would drive the Eldorado to Florida every winter for 25 years. In the early 90's they gave to there nephew who then passed it on to another relative. I purchased the car about 6 years ago from this gentleman by talking him out of the car. I found it online from photos at a national Cadillac show it was at and won first place. I contacted this gentleman and purchased the car even though it was not currently for sale anywhere, therefore, I am the first person since the car was new to actually put this incredible car up for sale to the general public. The car was completely disassembled prior to me purchasing the car and was completely and utterly restored to the highest levels I have ever seen in a 67 Eldorado. I am quite certain it is the best one in existence. In my video I stated the paint is base coat clear coat but it is not. It has a full high quality lacquer paint job that is without flaw anywhere. It is absolutely perfect throughout and the only new car on the market with paint like this would be a Bentley. There is no orange peel anywhere and it is PERFECT !! My favorite part of the car is the leather interior. It is all new and truly spectacular. Soft and supple to the touch and beautiful to sit on. For those of you who know these Eldorado's then you know this is a rare one. They did not make many console cars is 67 and fewer still with front disk brakes. This is that car. The original doctor who ordered this car ordered it completely loaded out and in my opinion one of the finest color combinations I have ever seen. A/C blows cold and the car is a pleasure to drive and own. It is officially for sale, I might consider trades depending on what you have. The car is located right here in Clinton NY 13323.
