Made available to the public in 1975, it was the long awaited successor to the incomparable Dino 246 GT. I believe LR CPO lasts 6 years. I put in a request with LR to transfer any remaining coverage to me. - Damage shown on Carfax, I had the previous owner provide me with the damage report from the insurance company, was for scratch on rear bumper, total repair was $1250.00 I have all documentation and pictures as well. I am in no rush to sell what so ever nor do I need to sell. My wife and I absolutely love this vehicle it makes me giggle every time I press on the pedal and fell it pull. 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio Verde "Spectacular restoration on a 38,018 mile car" Gorgeous Alfa Red Interior: Grey/Black/Red leather interior Convertible top: Black Convertible Boot: Black Engine: 2.0L double overhead camshaft /Bosch Fuel-injection Transmission: 5/speed manual Mileage: 38,018 Serial number: ZARBA5411G1040667 Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966 to replace the aging Giulietta Spider, the Battista “Pinin” Farina-designed Spider was based on the Giulia 105 chassis. Expensive at introduction at $4000, almost the same as a Jaguar E-Type, it afforded entry into the world of Italian design and performance, i.e. “the Poor Man’s Ferrari”. It remained in production for almost 30 years, and until recently was Alfa’s last rear-wheel-drive car. The Spider was offered in three trim levels; the $20,500 Quadrifoglio Verde (“Four-Leaf Clover”, Alfa’s long-time good luck charm), the $17,000 Veloce, and the $14,000 entry-level Graduate. All were mechanically identical, with a five-speed and DOHC 2 liter under the hood; the differences were in the trim levels and materials. The Graduate made do with steel wheels and trim rings vs. (optional) alloys, vinyl roof and seats instead of cloth and leather, optional A/C, and manual-wind windows. Marketed to relate to the car Dustin Hoffman drove in 1967’s The Graduate (the movie that put Alfa “on the map” in the USA), it was a very popular model. After a naming contest which drew over 100,000 entries, the name that was selected presented legal copyright issues so Alfa Romeo stuck with the simple Spider 1600. A simple name belied the successful combination of very pretty lines on a successful chassis, so successful that the Spider remained in production for almost 30 years with very few changes. In 1970 Alfa introduced the Series 2 which featured minor changes to the interior and exterior, notably the squared off trunk lid and grill. The engine was upgraded to a 1962 CC engine and the car was renamed the 2000 Spider Veloce. 1982 saw the introduction of the Series 3 Spider, which featured a black rubber spoiler on the trunk lid but also introduced a 2.0-liter engine with Bosch Fuel Injection. Upon obtaining it, the current owner took the Cobra to a very reputable high-end specialty car facility (Bob Hindson Racing) and had the Cobra completely reengineered to the tune of 10k dollars. His goal, to insure that he had a turn key sports car that handled like a true performance vehicle. During the course of his ownership, Bob Hindson Racing and AutoDino have been the primary care takers of this Cobra. Over the last five years, over 8k dollars has been spent on regular maintenance. The fit and finish of this Cobra far surpasses the bulk of the Cobras that you will find within the market place. Upon driving the Cobra, one of the very first things that you will notice is the overall quality of the car. The overall feel of this Cobra is equivalent to driving any vehicle off of the manufacturing line. Just turning the key over will give anyone a good feel of just how well built this car is. From how the doors shut and seal to how she handles, you will quickly see that there were zero corners cut on the build of this Cobra. The 5.0 302 within this Cobra is absolutely phenomenal. All of the panels line up exceptionally well. Again, I want to put a heavy emphasis on the fit and finish of this Cobra. A very extensive amount of time and money were invested in to insuring that the fit and finish were spot on. All of the glass as well as chrome through out the Cobra are in excellent condition. The Cobra does have a convertible top. The interior of the Cobra is in excellent shape. The bucket seats, the dash pad, instrument panel, shifter, all of its is in excellent condition.
