The original is considered a British icon of the 1960’s. Its space-saving front-wheel drive layout – allowing 80 per cent of the area of the car's floor pan to be used for passengers and luggage – influenced a generation of car makers. The vehicle is in some ways considered the British equivalent of its German contemporary the Volkswagen Beetle, which enjoyed similar popularity in North America. In 1999 the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century, behind the Ford Model T.MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer the handsome 1963 Austin Mini you see pictured. This tiny, European coupe comes complete with a HUGE personality! We realize this is really a 1985 Series V Leyland Mini, however they were never imported into the US. This car is titled as a 1963 Austin Mini on a legal Missouri Non-USA Motor Vehicle Title. Previous to coming into the state of Missouri the car was titled in Texas where it was most likely imported sometime in the late 1980’s. These late model Series V Minis aren’t often seen in the states and would make a perfect, economic daily driver or an excellent addition to any European collection!Finished in red, the paint is in good condition, showing only minor imperfections, such as small rock chips, typical of a car that is regularly driven. The Mini has small black flares that are in great shape that shows only minor imperfections. The chrome is in good shape and shines bright. Overall, this is a very good looking car!Inside, you will be shocked at how surprisingly roomy the Mini is! The interior is finished in two tone brown vinyl with brown & gray cloth Houndstooth. The seats are in good condition, showing no signs of major wear, tears or staining. The door panels and dashboard are finished in brown vinyl and look great, showing no signs of cracking. The brown carpet is in good shape as well. The headliner is finished in gray and shows no sign of sagging. The complete build of this amazing vehicle was featured on the television show ‘Jesse James: Outlaw Garage’ on Discovery Channel in 2012. Jesse had acquired the original all-steel 1932 Ford Roadster body & original chassis years ago, which had previous racing history, and was waiting for the right time to create something special. The perfect opportunity arose when he decided to put his crew to the test @ his newly acquired ‘Austin Speed Shop’, and on television no less! Let me back up and provide a little bit of history about dry lakes racing. One of the most unique chapters in American motorsports began on the sun baked dry lakebeds of the Mojave Desert. The sport of Land Speed Racing was born in Southern California in the 1920s when early Hot-Rodders searched for ways to push the envelope of speed, taking advantage of homegrown automotive technology and better racetracks. The first adventurous drivers drove just about anything that rolled under its own power to the dry lakes, but the early favorites were hopped-up Model T’s. The early Dry Lake racers were less concerned about precision timing or setting records than with the sheer exhilaration of running their cars wide-open! The Dry Lakes that dotted the Mojave Desert had long, unobstructed stretches of flat, hard-packed surfaces that were ideal for attaining a car's maximum speed. Muroc Dry Lake (now called Rogers Dry Lake), northeast of Lancaster, was the favorite spot for speed trials beginning in the late 1920s. Although the match races were definitely crowd pleasers, they were also very dangerous. In 1937, a group of Los Angeles area car clubs merged and formed the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA). By mid-1938, there were 23 clubs in the group that went on to become the pre-eminent sanctioning body of Land Speed Racing. The SCTA held its first organized event on May 15, 1938, at Muroc Dry Lake. More than 300 stripped-down & hopped-up cars roared across the lake bed and a new era of dry lake racing began! The style & design of these stripped down racers has always been a favorite among the true Hot Rod aficionados, and many of those early race cars formed the foundation for what a true Hot Rod is really suppose to be. Fast forward to 2012, when Jesse James said goodbye to the glitz & glamour of Hollywood and moved back to Austin, Texas. With the help of some of the world’s top car customizers, Jesse partnered up with the ‘Austin Speed Shop’, and never looked back. The guys at the ‘Austin Speed Shop’ were a little reluctant about doing a reality TV show, and that’s one of the things Jesse liked about them. Jesse challenged his crew to build a one-of-a-kind 1932 Ford Roadster in just a few weeks, a job that should take a year to complete. The final result was the creation of this ground breaking one-of-a-kind 1932 Ford Dry Lakes Roadster, a visual masterpiece that looks like it was built in 1940. There is a reason that Jesse James paved the way over 20 years ago for custom motorcycle builders, and now he is lending his style & vision to creating some of the finest Custom Cars & Hot Rods on the planet, and this ’32 Roadster is no exception! The body & paint are exceptional, and the colors that Jesse decided upon really make this car quite unique. The Plum & Vintage Green color combination is amazing & really gives the Roadster that 1940’s vintage look & feel. While the car was purchased by the City of Austin, it has been in use throughout the city as well as surrounding counties in cooperation with the local sheriff's. It has not been beaten down like your everyday patrol car. While this car has been used in stop and go traffic, it has mostly seen highway and interstate use. This car has NEVER had any type of markings or decals and the finish is just beautiful. You can usually tell if a car has been marked even if it has been buffed - There is a night and day difference between unmarked cars and cars with decals. There are few dings here and there, nothing that is big enough to pick up on camera. There are almost zero scratches on the body - very clean and well kept. This car has spent the majority of its life in Mid Texas and it shows - NO RUST AND NO PAINT PEELING. The undersides of the doors and fenders are spotless. This car does not have the typical quarter panel rust from the rear doors banging against them. C-pillars, inner wings of the fenders and inner wings of the quarter panels do not have any paint peeling. There is ZERO fading on this car. Paint is just bright. There is a 1" in diameter half circle slit on the right side of the rear bumper from backing into something.This car has NEVER had a lightbar so there are no holes drilled the roof rails and there is not a giant hole in the roof for the wiring. There are two .75" plugged holes in the trunk-lid and one .75" plugged hole in the roof. The trunk holes were from the removal of antennas and the one on the roof from an GPS unit. Interior: Car has factory interior code (IN) Black/Gray 50/50 Cloth/Vinyl. Car has NEVER had a cage or center console. Not used for routine patrol. There are ZERO holes on the dash. Driver seat has no tears or rips, no typical hinge tear in the cushion/cover and looks new. Passenger seat is near flawless. Rear seat is nearly new and has the soft grain look from when it was brought out from the factory.The rubber floor is in excellent shape and has ZERO holes or rips. B-pillars do not have any cutouts and there is no cage ridge in the headliner. Front door panels do not have the typical pull/wear on the handle area. This car does have the factory soundoff signal red led/white dome light. It works perfectly. Trunk is very clean but has some fade to the fabric. There are two 3"x3" square impressions at the rear of the headliner from LED deck lights. If you would like a matching cloth/vinyl rear seat to match the front seats, I can get one at an additional cost. Mechanical: This car has NO mechanical defects. It accelerates fast, corners aggressively with minimal body-roll and stops the moment the brakes are pressed. Transmission is smooth and there are no hesitations between shifts. Every change can be heard but not felt. Ride is very smooth and there are no harsh rattles when going over bumps. The suspension is more firm than a civilian crown victoria but it is still soft and plush.This car has the factory 3.27 trac-lok differential. It is a true trac-lok system with the 3.27L code on the differential tag, S-spring, and X5 code on the door jam sticker! Be VERY careful when people say their car has trac-lok - very few cars really have it. If a car has the Z5 code, it does NOT have trac-lok. Acceleration is very quick off the line and car feels as though it has more torque than cars with the standard 3.27. This car only has 1064 idle hours!!! Very very low as this car was used for a lot of driving and no sitting. If a seller does not tell you the amount of hours right off the bat, expect is to be very high. A general rule of thumb is that if a car has more than 300-400 idle hours per year of age, it has likely seen patrol work. Be VERY careful of buying highway patrol cars as they have seen mostly highway use but the acceleration and beating those cars take is often worse than city patrol cars. Electrical / Safety: All electrical items on this car work as they should. There are NO defects. Every light works and every instrument works. Heat is HOT and a/c is COLD. Blower works on all levels with no hesitation. Radio signal is strong. All windows and locks work flawlessly. All dash lights come on and return to normal with the ignition ON/engine OFF and ignition ON/engine ON. There are ZERO surprises with this car. Spotlight bulb has been changed to a NEW Glass bulb and works excellent. ALL exterior lights on this car are Genuine Ford OEM parts. they have not been drilled through for strobes like other police cars. Be very careful as many sellers are replacing their lights with cheap aftermarket lights that fit poorly and yellow. Maintenance / Service History: Prior to myself owning the car, it was maintained every 3000 miles by Austin, TX fleet department. The city of Austin is continually ranked in the top 10 in the nation for having the best programs for vehicle maintenance. This car has had no expense spared on maintenance and it shows. All parts replaced have been Genuine Ford Motorcraft parts! Major services such as transmission fluid/filter change has been performed every 30K miles. Suspension parts have been replaced as needed. Spare tire is also a NEW Firestone Firehawk GT Pursuit tire with no road use. Undercarriage is near spotless on this car. No RUST and no grease/oil build-up spots. All aluminum and stainless steel is in superb condition. Exhaust is nice and clean while the trailing arms and front cross-member are spotless. Frame rails are clean and rocker panel paint is just as clean as the body. This car does have the bumper deflectors found on LX models and a steel skid plate at the front of the car. All VIN tags are in place such as hood, fenders, bumpers, doors, trunk-lid and quarter panel. This car still has the original Engine sequence sticker on the timing cover and the original VIN sticker with date code on the rear of the frame. It has been well cared for and is an absolute blast to drive. If you don't know what sets the KR apart from the regular GT500, read on. The 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR, KR for "King of the Road", celebrates the 40th anniversary of the original 1968 Shelby GT500KR. It starts off as a Mustang GT500 that is shipped to Shelby's facility near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where they install many of the KR-specific parts. The KR includes forged wheels, a ride height that's 0.79 inch lower in front and 0.6 inch lower in the rear. But one thing that really stands out on the KR's is its ducted and vented hood, which funnels air into a Ford Racing air filter. The GT500KR's hood, which is constructed of carbon fiber, is made by the same supplier of lightweight yet durable parts for the Corvette ZR1 and Dodge Viper ACR. The KR also gets revised engine calibration with more aggressive spark mapping and a less restrictive exhaust that sound fantastic, as you would expect from a muscle car of this caliber. These changes create an additional 40 horsepower and 30 pound-feet of torque over the GT500's supercharged 5.4-liter V8, giving the KR 540 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. A shorter 3.73:1 final drive and short-throw shift linkage round out the upgrades to the powertrain. There were only 1011 2008 KR's produced, including the prototypes, and this is one of only 476 that came in Silver Metallic with vista blue stripes.This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. 1974 Ford Bronco Ranger - Original and Uncut - 74,445 Original Miles This beautiful 1974 Bronco Ranger is part of a 60+ car private collection in Austin, Texas. For the last five years this gorgeous truck has shared a space with cars from Porsche, Ferrari, Lotus, Aston Martin, and others and has easily held its own. If you've never seen someone ignore and walk by a brand new Ferrari to get a better look at a 1974 Bronco, I can tell you that it’s 100% as much fun to see as it sounds. I acquired this 2-owner, numbers-matching Bronco in 2010 with 74,272 original miles. Originally purchased in 1974 from the Ed Chovanes Ford dealership in San Leandro, CA this Bronco spent the first 20 years of its life with its first owner in Castro Valley, CA. In 1994 it was purchased by its second owner who resided Magalia, CA and there it stayed until I acquired it in August, 2010 and moved it to Austin, TX. It came nicely equipped from Ford with a 302 motor, 3-speed manual transmission, the U152 heavy duty package, and a Dana 44 front axle. Finished in ultra-rare Bright Lime with Avocado Green interior, this Bronco also came with the optional Ranger package which included full carpeting, houndstooth seat and panel inserts, rear interior quarter and door panels, a full headliner, bright body trim, argent grill, chrome bumpers, color keyed dashboard, spare tire carrier, and full wheel covers. When I acquired this truck, my goal was to preserve its incredible originality while increasing its performance, comfort, handling, and safety. Because this car was being built for my personal use, my goal was to build the best Bronco that I could, without regard to cost. With that in mind, I embarked on a 2-year, no-expense-spared, mechanical and cosmetic restoration to build the perfect Bronco. The results are as follows: Drivetrain:The original 302 was running strong after 35 years and less than 75,000 miles and, after a full evaluation and compression check, we decided against a full rebuild. I also decided to keep the original, smooth-shifting “3 on the tree” manual transmission which, to me, was an integral part of the truck's charm and originality. With those decisions made, the engine was then stripped, steam-cleaned, and painted and the 70’s era smog equipment was carefully removed. We installed an Edelbrock manifold and carb set-up and a set of ceramic-coated headers. We also replaced just about everything under the hood that could be replaced including the fuel pump, water pump, radiator, fan, fan shroud, harmonic balance, air cleaner, valve covers, alternator, radiator tank, windshield washer tank, coolant and heater hoses, spark plug wires, and some other bits and pieces. When it was done, the truck was taken to a local exhaust specialist for a custom-bent exhaust system. The final result is a motor that starts reliably and runs strong with a perfectly-tuned rumble that’ll be music to the ears of any car guy. Exterior:I was dead set on preserving the paint on this truck which is 100% original with the exception of the left front fender which appears to have been refinished many years ago probably from a small dent or scrape (there are no signs of accident damage). As a collector, I understand the golden rule that YOU ALWAYS PRESERVE ORIGINAL PAINT and the patina on this truck is truly a thing of beauty. With that decision made, we decided to improve the cosmetics by buffing out the original paint, completely refinishing the front grill, backdating the front grill turn signals and installing clear lenses, installing a brand new Ranger stripe kit, installing new lenses and lens trim at all four corners, and installing all new emblems. We finished it off with a set of 5 white-spoke wheels and brand new Goodyear Wrangler tires. What we were left with is the rarest of the breed: an early Bronco with more than 90% original paint and an extraordinary patina complimented by just the right touches of bling. You will not find another original and uncut Bronco with the immediate and long-lasting eye-appeal of this special truck. Interior:After preserving the original exterior, we decided on a different path for the interior of our Bronco. Simply put, I wanted to feel like I was driving a brand new truck when I got behind the wheel and that exactly what we did. We started by completing gutting the interior, painting and dynamatting the remarkably well-preserved original floors, and re-painting the dash, door panels, and kick panels in their original Bright Lime. A roll-bar was installed for safety (also correctly painted) and a new, premium-grade carpet kit was installed in the original Avocado. Next we installed new door panels and rear quarter panels in the correct houndstooth and the front seats were completely redone with new foam and new matching Avocado vinyl with houndstooth inserts. The freshly painted dash received a new foam dash pad, the speedometer and associated gauges were sent out for reconditioning and recalibrating, and a period-correct wood steering wheel was installed. Up top, we installed a brand new headliner with brand new and correct polished metal hardware. All the dash switches were either reconditioned or replaced and various bits and pieces were addressed as needed. The 4-wheel drive shift knob was custom painted in matching Bright Lime as a final touch. The only part that we left original is the rear seat. While the frame was sandblasted and repainted, we chose to keep the original vinyl and houndstooth rear seat cover as an homage to the Bronco’s originality and a testament to the original condition of this special vehicle. When we finished, we were left with an interior that looks just like it did the day it left the showroom (only better). Safety, Comfort, and Convenience:Now that we had a smooth-running motor, and had handled the inside and the outside of the truck, it was time to get to the details. We started with the suspension and installed new rear leaf springs and front coils, Billstein shocks at all four corners, and a set of locking Warn hubs. To make the Bronco steer and stop like a new vehicle we installed modern power steering and a power, 4-wheel disc brake setup using all new, premium components from a Bronco specialist parts supplier. Inside we installed modern retractable shoulder belts for safety and a premium sound system including an Alpine CD player, Pioneer rear speakers, a custom dual-cone stereo speaker in the dash, and a powered subwoofer tucked away under the passenger seat. We also installed remote-control power door locks, a modern rear-view mirror with courtesy lights, and an electric tank switcher eliminating the need to manually switch between the two fuel tanks with that functionality now controlled by the dash switch used when checking fuel levels between the tanks. Finally, every seal and piece of rubber was replaced (and not just the easy stuff) including new door seals, a new windshield seal, new roll-up window seals and felts, new vent window seals, new rear side window seals, and new rear gate/hatch seals. I know this is an extensive list but, believe it or not, it’s not conclusive. There are many, probably dozens, of little things we did to this truck to make it perfect that I've failed to list. I pride myself in my attention to detail - especially when it comes to my cars - and this Bronco is truly the rare classic that needs nothing but a new owner. Since this Bronco was completed in 2012 I've driven her a total of 173 miles and the odometer currently shows the correct mileage of 74,445.
