In fact, this might be the most affordable LS1 powered convertible you'll ever find, a car that still makes big performance seem effortless. This is actually a rather rare car, a 2002 V8 Camaro that isn't an SS. The standard Z/28's clean looks are smooth and chiseled, and it arguably wears the facelifted headlights and grille a lot more successfully than its more extroverted siblings. It's still easily identifiable as a Camaro, of course, but it keeps a lower profile, and in black, has a very grown-up look that's less boy racer than you'd expect. The black paint is original, and with just 48,859 original miles, it's in decent shape considering that it's also 13 years old. Perfect? No. But the car has the look of a machine that has led an easy life and few Camaro convertibles have been subjected to the daily grind, including this one. For a convertible, this one is rock solid, so the doors close with reassuring solidity and it shows off rather nice build quality with tight gaps and good attention to detail. Out back, you get distinctive tri-color taillights as well as the neatly integrated rear spoiler and a modest ground-effects kit that makes the Z look long and low. The black leather interior has a great look for being 13 years old and despite the open-air motoring it has experienced over its lifetime, it's in very good condition. The seats have some slight comfort marks, which only makes the leather that much more inviting and there's no denying that it was built for speed as well as comfort. There's some light fading on the carpets, which is pretty typical on convertibles, but things like the back seat, door panels, and dash pad are excellent with almost no wear at all. Big, bold gauges were part of the Z/28 package and this car comes loaded with just about every option, including power seats, windows, locks, and mirrors, plus A/C, cruise control, and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system. It's also got a quick-shifting 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission that makes this a great point-and-shoot machine in traffic and allows you to focus on the road. The black canvas convertible top is in excellent condition and stows under a neat boot that gives it a clean look. And for a convertible, the trunk is deep enough for all your gear and remains in good shape. Chevy's all-aluminum LS1 needs no introduction, and its installation in the Camaro created one of the best performers of the early 21st century. GM downplayed the horsepower, but testing at the time pretty much confirms that this is a Corvette-spec motor. Modifications are common but this one remains entirely stock, which assures you that it hasn't been abused or treated to questionable upgrades. It starts easily, idles smoothly, and still yanks the clean ragtop up to speed with effortless ease. It's been well-maintained and the LS1 has proven itself to be virtually indestructible, so it's got plenty of life left in it. Someone has kept up with the detailing under the hood, so it's quite clean and the chassis is equally clean. It's still running its stock exhaust system, complete with catalytic converter, so it's emissions legal just about everywhere and the unique 16-inch Z/28 wheels and 245/50/16 Kumho tires are ready to go. This lovely Dark Cherry Impala SS is a very nicely preserved specimen that comes from the collection of a passionate owner (don't they all?) and shows an astounding 9985 original miles! Clearly treated to a life of privilege, the sleek 4-door sedan looks every bit as good now as it did more than 15 years ago when it hit the showrooms, and perhaps even better thanks to a decade of hand washing, polishing, buffing, and waxing. The Dark Cherry was one of three colors available in '96, and arguably the most attractive. It definitely gives the big Imp a Q-ship rating, because nobody's going to see this one coming until it's too late, even with those giant 17-inch alloys. Fortunately, everything on this one is neatly preserved and in excellent condition, from the urethane bumpers to the slick body-colored "Impala SS" badges that subtly adorn the flanks. This sucker is NICE! Inside, the Impala got a nice upgrade over the standard Caprice in the form of gray leather buckets and a center console. Apparently, GM was using some high-grade leather back then, because it wears like iron and in this car, it has been carefully maintained and shows only the most minor comfort marks on the driver's chair. All the gauges are fully functional, and the Impala came only one way: loaded. A/C, cruise control, power windows and locks, and a powerful stereo were standard equipment, and it all works like new. In addition, this one sports dual power seats, automatic headlights, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, which were part of the Preferred Equipment Group. You should probably get ready for all the What is that? questions youre going to get, but there are plenty of design cues that make it easy to spot. The hood with its built-in vent at the leading edge was an International look for many years, and the body-colored grille blends seamlessly with the 1955 Chevy parking lights for a very clean, yet interesting, look. The front fenders were smoothed and molded into the surrounding bodywork, the bumpers were shaved, and pretty much everything was covered in bright yellow paint just in case you didnt notice the other stuff. The custom-built bed was smoothed, the tailgate has cool ghost letters on its face, and a clean rear roll pan has staggered bullet taillights and a recessed license plate that looks both trick and suitably industrial for an old pickup. And the bed is simply beautiful with refinished pine boards offering a dramatic striped effect that really sets off the whole truck. Despite the Ford transplant underneath, the interior remains International in flavor, with a simply black bench seat, steel door panels, and a very cool instrument panel that follows the curve of the windshield. A mixture of original and aftermarket gauges keep an eye on the revised engine, but they all look appropriate in the body-colored dashboard, and a woodgrained Grant steering wheel adds a bit of civility. Upholstery is in very good condition, including the black floor coverings that are protected by carpeted mats, and it appears that factory door hardware was retained. An AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit fits just about where youd expect it and this truck undoubtedly originally had a floor shifter, so the modern T-handle for the C6 automatic underneath looks right at home. To make this truck work so well, they simply dropped the body onto a 1979 Ford Bronco chassis that includes all the modern conveniences as well as a stout 351 cubic inch V8. In true hot-rodding fashion, there are parts from different sources working together to make it reliable and fun. The block was covered in what looks like Chevy Orange paint, but is actually International Harvester Red, and the yellow valve covers match the body. Power steering and power front disc brakes make it feel confident in traffic and the dual exhaust with glasspack-style mufflers and a crossover sounds racy. The C6 3-speed automatic feeds a heavy-duty rear end and the lowered ride height makes it look great without a ride penalty. Stock Ford wheels were painted to match and carry 235/70/15 white-letter radials to complete the look. This is just a fun old truck with a bunch of charisma and easy-to-service mechanicals. International Harvesters were built as tools, but someone found the beauty in the design and covered it in burgundy metallic paint that makes it look far more upscale than its original price tag would indicate. Most of the trim was painted to match the body, including the grille and bumpers, but almost all the original components are still in place, right down to the cool release handles on either side of the unusual lift-off hood. The dramatic wood bed features a built-in tool box that hides a fuel cell inside, plus a matching tailgate with a big International emblem on it, leaving no doubt as to what kind of pickup this is. Other trick details include the split rear window, a rear roll pan, and tri-bar fog lamps up front, just ahead of the mesh grille. Theres not a lot of bright trim, but the stuff it carries, like the IH emblem on the grille, the side mirrors, running board step plates, and the door handles are all in surprisingly good shape after all these years. No factory International Harvester in history was as comfortable and luxurious as the cab in this awesome pickup. With a pair of handsome gray buckets from a late-model, a fabricated center console, and carpets on the floors, its plush and quiet instead of crude and workmanlike as it was originally. The original dash and steering wheel are in place, and that long shifter lever was probably part of the package when it was new, but is now cleverly adapted to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. White-faced Auto Meter gauges are set into a genuine wood instrument panel that matches the bed, and there are custom enclosures under the dash for both the Vintage Air A/C system and the AM/FM/CD stereo head unit. A custom center console features a padded arm rest and a pair of cup holders, and getting behind the wheel of this truck actually feels quite modern, not ancient. Lift off the hood and youll find a nicely-dressed 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 for motive power. Nothing exotic, just reliable horsepower thats easy to service and with plentiful parts everywhere you go. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake live up top, along with chrome valve covers and air cleaner, plus a big aluminum radiator up front. A custom front clip from Fatman Fabrication offers power rack-and-pinion steering, a coil-over suspension, and disc brakes so it tracks straight and true on the highway and feels very polished at speed. Out back theres a Chevy 10-bolt rear end hanging on what might be the original leaf springs, and a custom dual exhaust system was fabbed up to give it a muscular soundtrack. You probably haven't seen another code 65 Antique Gold 1969 GTO before, but now that you have, you're probably wondering why everyone makes such a fuss over Carousel Red. The gold is sophisticated, elegant, and more than attention-grabbing... it's impossible to ignore! This is, of course, the car's original color and it was refinished to a standard that's far, far better than anything the factory could have managed in 1969. Gaps are exacting, the bodywork has been smoothed and sanded so that the reflections are crisp and sharp, and even the front bumper that surrounds the grilles fits better than new. The two-stage urethane finish is miles deep and if we had to pick nits, well, we'd be hard-pressed to find anything beyond a nick or two that are all but invisible. The tan vinyl top is a very unusual option with the gold paint and it actually looks fantastic in person. The vinyl is correct GM stuff, so it has the right grain, and of course you know that the metal underneath is in great shape, no issues there. All the chrome and stainless trim was restored or replaced, leaving it in as-new condition throughout. This is a car that truly sparkles in every possible way. The code 252 gold interior is also original to the car, and by original, I don't just mean that it's the original color, but this is actually the interior that was installed back in 1969. Only the carpets have been replaced, and the overall presentation is extremely impressive. The seats show virtually zero wear, the door panels are excellent, and the headliner remains taut, suggesting a car that led a very easy life. The options list includes factory A/C, which still blows cold using R12 refrigerant, and a very rare AM/FM radio with a stereo 8-track player down on the center console. The gauges remain in excellent condition with clear lenses and bright markings and even the woodgraining on the console and dash is crisp, clear, and bright. The trunk is like new, with spatter paint on the floor, a correct mat, and a bias-ply spare tire that's quite possibly the original piece. Have we mentioned how impressed we are with this car? The 400 cubic inch V8 is the original, numbers-matching powerplant and has been rebuilt and detailed for show. From the chrome air cleaner with dual snorkels, to the metallic turquoise engine enamel to the white stripe hoses, this engine bay looks the way it did on the showroom floor. It also runs superbly with a nice V8 burble, plenty of torque, and no fussiness when it's cold. Special care was taken to replicate the original markings on the firewall and reproduction decals were used throughout for a correct look. It's equipped with power steering and brakes, plus a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, so it's easy to drive, and even the exhaust system has just the right sound. Out back, a heavy-duty 12-bolt rear end was part of the GTO package and there's a new gas tank as well. It sits exactly right on beautiful Rally II wheels and appropriate G70-14 redline tires. Classic '50s styling with an economical and fun driving style make for a slam-dunk hobby car during these uncertain times. Restored in 2005 by a guy who just wanted to drive, this little Met is a rather rare and unusual coupe version and remains in great condition today. The Ivory paint has a great pastel 1950s look that shows off the interesting bodywork to great effect. With that subtle color, you can take the time to notice things like the vent at the base of the windshield, the little dip in the doors where the windows roll down, and the jaunty continental kit out back that makes everyone smile. Fit and finish are quite good, and despite a few years of driving enjoyment across the country, it really looks fantastic. Much of the chrome is original, which is OK because this car hails from California and spent much of its life in Texas and Georgia. It's also worth noting that this car proudly wears a Metropolitan emblem on its grille, not the usual Nash badge of earlier years. The Metropolitan is small, but it feels full-size once you're behind the wheel. The diminutive proportions mask a surprisingly comfortable interior, anchored by a cloth bench with split back for easy access to the rear package shelf area. With narrow pleats it looks right for 1957, although the materials aren't 100% correct. The simple instrument panel is reminiscent of the other micro-car of the period, the VW Beetle, with its big speedometer and fuel gauge setup, but someone has thoughtfully added a Stewart-Warner temperature gauge just to the left of the steering column. The original AM radio is in the dash and as is typical of cars of this era, it's not functional, but there's an AM/FM head unit in the dash so you shouldn't be afraid to hit the road. With combined storage between the trunk and rear area, this really is a car that can take you on a cross-country tour without compromise. The Metropolitan is an interesting Anglo-American hybrid in that it's one of the rare cars that was built in Europe exclusively for the US-market by a US auto maker. As a result, it carries a 1489 cc inline-four built by Austin in England. It's a rugged little engine that delivers spirited performance in the lightweight Metropolitan and parts are still easy to find and quite inexpensive. Even more importantly, fuel mileage routinely hovers in the 30+ MPG range, making this a fantastic car if you're on a budget but still like to get out and drive. The engine bay is neat and tidy, but since it's been driven and enjoyed, it's no longer show-quality, but mechanically it remains in superior condition and ready to drive anywhere. The 3-speed manual transmission has light action and with smart gearing, it cruises at 60 MPH without complaint and without being buzzy on the highway. The conventional suspension is surprisingly compliant and with those tiny 155/80/13 tires, the turning radius is tight enough to make traffic a blast. A neat little mini car with great club support and a wonderful '50s vibe. If going green is your thing, perhaps a bit of eco-friendliness from the '50s is just what you need. Out-of-state (non-Florida resident) taking delivery in Florida: If you take delivery of your vehicle here in Florida and we issue you a temporary tag, and your state has a Reciprocal Agreement with Florida, then we must collect your state’s applicable Sales Tax up to a maximum of the Florida rate of 6%. Any taxes over that amount you will pay when you register the vehicle in your state. If your rate is less than 6% then the lower rate will be collected. You will not be double-taxed. We will provide you a notarized document as to the amounts collected which you may present to your motor vehicle department as evidence of sales tax already paid. Any balance of tax due and related title and registration fees are the buyer’s responsibility. There are a couple of states which currently do not allow credit " AR and MS. To avoid paying tax to FL and AR or MS we should make the delivery to you out-of-state by a transporter. We must retain the shipping Bill of Lading as evidence of the out-of-state delivery. Exporting: If you are purchasing a vehicle which will be exported overseas we can only release the vehicle to you via a transporter / shipper as the vehicle may not be operated on Florida roads with a temporary tag unless sales tax has been collected.
