But not many of those vintage machines can claim both exclusivity and star status. Sold by a north Hollywood Pontiac dealer, and used both on and off the set of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, this 52,280 actual mile Chieftain is a national award winner that's split most of its time between the screen, the radio and the museum floor. Benefiting from new paint, a reupholstered seat and freshened chrome, it's a mostly-original survivor that's still humbled by vintage camera mounts installed during its sitcom debut. And, accompanied by a roster of old school literature, the car's history is delightful and well documented. If you like cool classics that tell a good story, this incredible Poncho is your next cruiser! HISTORY/CONDITION Serving double duty as Ozzie and Harriet Nelson's on and off screen transportation, this Pontiac tells a storied history of low mileage, TV appearances, museum appearances and, eventually, a Cincinnati radio appearance. It's 50K mile journey started around the set of "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" where the car, in addition to being rigged for camera work, often served as a prop that began Ozzie's scenes. When the Nelsons moved on to newer metal, the wagon sold to Don Bruker's Cars of the Stars museum. And, when the Car's to the Stars museum went out of business, it found residence with California collector Ray Ostrander. Since the Chieftain had been in museum mode for quite some time, Ostrander decided to conduct a minor restoration that included freshened chrome, some new upholstery and a wholesale swap of original Glendale Green and Nimbus Gray pigment for a pleasing combination of pearlescent Glendale and bright white. With that work complete, the Pontiac landed two more TV roles, appearing in HBO's "A Private Matter" and MTV's interview with actor Aidan Quinn. And, in 1993, its short and sweet radio career began when Cincinnati's 103.5 WGBH bought it as a giveaway prize. As part of WGBH's promotion, the car was towed all over Cincinnati to glean listeners' personal information. One of those listeners, Don Furnish, was a bonafide Pontiac enthusiast who was planning to offer the car's winner substantial money to pass him the privilege of ownership. When the time came to draw names, that winner was given 10 minutes and 35 seconds to call and claim their new wheels. And, after that winner's time ran out, Don's dreams turned to good fortune, as WGBH DJ Chris O'Brien announced his name as the second winner. After a prompt call to the radio station, Don spent the next several years enjoying his unrestored, mostly original classic at summer cruise-ins and weekend car shows. And, in 2014, the car claimed First Place in the '49-'57 Restored Cars class and the Dallas Autorama in Dallas, Texas. ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN Raise this Chieftain's domed hood and the first thing you'll notice is an original Strato Streak 316 that, according to the car's previous owners, has never been removed or rebuilt. Less obvious, of course, is that stalwart engine's correct 521560 casting number. Tested for over 1 million miles, and found throughout the 1956 Pontiac line-up, this mean, green mill was Pontiac Motor Division's creative answer to Chevrolet's red-hot 265. Behind that block, an original 4-speed Hydramatic transmission, which wears a correct "D56" prefix stamp, transfers power to a factory-spec rear end. In front of that drivetrain, correct control arms employ optional power steering and fresh shocks. Optional power drum brakes are a welcome addition and big performance upgrade. There's a traditional, true-dual exhaust system that appears to have been patched with new turbo mufflers. And everything rides on painted steel wheels, which spin fresh 225/75R15 Coker Classic whitewalls around full stainless hubcaps. INTERIOR Climb inside this awesome Poncho and you'll find a mostly original interior that features dramatic style and enough great looking trim to payroll a small upholstery shop. Covered in vivid hides, the car's big bench seats, equipped with optional power adjustment up front, feature a nice combination of fresh front and original rear vinyl. At the sides of those seats, original door panels look great hovering behind small armrests and correct chrome handles. At the front of those panels, an original dash hangs original telemetry above optional air conditioning. In front of the driver, an original, ornate steering wheel spins around an optional, foot-operated windshield washing system. And behind the passengers, a matted cargo area frames ample storage space in original stainless skid strips. The shape is instantly recognizable, from the 911-inspired front end to the air intakes just ahead of the rear wheels, to the center-exit exhaust system, there's nothing else like a Boxster. This one has also been beautifully preserved and maintained by a Porsche enthusiast, and as a result shows no evidence of the daily grind. The nose is clean, the rockers haven't been shredded by sticky tires throwing up stones, and the finish is deep and glossy. Porsche quality is legendary, and even on a car that's now more than 10 years old, the fit and finish are notably better than most new cars being built today and you can feel it in every single component. It has never been hit and as a southern car all its life, it has never seen inclement weather. Like I said, it's easy to mistake this one for a much newer car. The black interior features arguably better ergonomics than the venerable 911, along with plenty of stretch-out room despite the mid-engine design and folding top. And with just 58,363 original miles and only one owner, it's a fantastic survivor that'll be a hit in preservation classes at any level. Cotillion White was probably the most popular color on these cars and the angular Eldorado bodywork wears it rather well, don't you think? It's flashy but not over-done, and the Biarritz trim accentuates the long hood and sharply raked windshield. With low mileage and an owner who always treated it as an object of value, the paint is in remarkable condition for being more than 30 years old and even the bright red pinstripe down its flanks still looks great. On these cars, the critical things are the rubber bumper fillers and fender caps, and in this car's case they're all in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or even flaking paint, which is rather remarkable. Sure, there are a few nicks and other signs of use on the car, but finding one this clean really isn't all that easy these days. In addition to the long streak of stainless trim along the hood and doors, the Biarritz also included the brushed stainless steel roof, which was its signature feature dating back to the 1957 Eldorado Brougham. The rest of the chrome and trim is in fantastic shape for its age, as are the unique taillight lenses with Cadillac crests. The red leather interior was as luxurious as American cars could get in 1984. Pillow-tufted seats are as comfortable as the couch in your living room and show only very minor wear that's not surprising for the car's age. Wonderfully ornate door panels and plush carpets add to the luxurious feeling, as do the Cadillac crest floor mats. Everything was standard on the Biarritz, including power windows, seats, locks, and mirrors, a tilt wheel, cruise control, rear defrost, and automatic climate control, the latter of which has been converted to R134a. The original Delco stereo is gone, replaced by a Pioneer AM/FM/cassette head unit that sounds much better, but beyond that, it's completely stock. The digital instrument panel is a relic of the 1980s, but yeah, it's pretty cool today. The Eldo also offers a reasonably spacious trunk with full-sized spare and jack assembly. Cadillac's sturdy 4.1 liter V8 was the sole powerplant, and it's plenty torquey enough to make this an effortless cruiser. Proper maintenance is critical on these engines, and it sure looks like the original owner stayed on top of it, because the engine bay is very clean and the car runs beautifully. There are zero modifications save for the A/C upgrade, and yes, it's a pretty tight fit in there. Digital fuel injection ensures that it always starts easily and runs smoothly even when it's cold and you might be pleasantly surprised by its fuel economy thanks to the 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. All Eldorados rode on a fully independent suspension with automatic load leveling in the back and they all had 4-wheel disc brakes. There's plenty of evidence of this one's easy life underneath, where it's quite clean and offers a recent exhaust system. Wire spoke hubcaps and narrow 215/75/15 whitewall radials are pretty much the only choice that looks right on a car like this. Fully documented with its original manuals, gold keys, and delivery paperwork, this is a cool survivor at a very reasonable price. We have many different sources for the cars and trucks we stock. Vehicles may be purchased at dealer sales, at off-lease sales, directly from large franchise dealers, from credit unions and banks. The vehicles we sell on eBay are usually late model (2002 and newer) and have good miles and may still be under a factory warranty. We resell cars with clean titles only, this means we never sell salvage, rebuilt, reconstructed, insurance claim, flood or other gray market vehicles unless specifically noted. Do you have all titles on hand for your vehicles? We do not always have titles on hand for vehicles that are placed for sale, titles may be in transit from banks, from other dealerships, from the state, and a host of other reasons for normal processing delays in title paperwork. We are a licensed and bonded dealer in Texas and guarantee clear titles on all vehicles that we sell. If having title on hand is of critical importance to you, please check to verify its disposition prior to contracting for sale. What 'other' fees are there besides the purchase price? The other fees include taxes, shipping and documentation charges. If you live in Texas, you must pay 6.25% of the sales price of the car as a tax to the state. All buyers are required to pay Texas Vehicle Inventory Tax (VIT) tax of 0.002391% of the purchase price. (The VIT Tax is based on the county in Texas where the dealership is located,Silver Star Motors is located in Tarrant county). There is a $195 dealer services fee for handling paperwork, filing titles, mailing and copying costs, these fees are fixed and is non negotiable. This exceptional 1925 Model T roadster pickup offers a spectacular restoration the likes of which you just don't see all that often. If you want a super nice Model T that's ready to enjoy, this is a fantastic choice. If you're a truck collector, and I know there are plenty of you out there, you need a T in your collection. With a bright color scheme, it's not quite the way Henry built it back in 1925, but the bright yellow finish is exceptionally well done and shows very little use since it was finished. The traditional black fenders look right, offering a bit of contrast that adds to the rugged look. The familiar grille plus the upright cab all date the truck and make it the most identifiable hauler of all time, and given the values of Model Ts, it's shocking to see one this well restored. The bed is freshly finished with lovely oak planks and matching stake sides, and it's just as sturdy and ready to work as it was nearly a century ago. Kind of cool to think that commercial vehicles also were things of beauty, isn't it? There's no chrome, of course, but the functional side-mounted tire adds some style and it's got two taillights out back for safety. The interior is surprisingly classy for a blue-collar hauler, with pleated seat cushions and a nicely finished dashboard. The same Model T controls that you got on the passenger cars were used here, too, including a hand throttle, and a set of foot pedals for the 2-speed planetary transmission. It's easy to operate once you see how it works and if you've got the time, the dependable Model T will get you anywhere you need to go as long as there's gas in the under-seat tank. A hard maple steering wheel is big and beefy and offers plenty of leverage for the steering, even fully loaded. Instrumentation includes an ammeter that monitors the generator's output and the ignition switch, plus an accessory Stewart speedometer. A rubber mat dresses it up a bit, as does the black canvas convertible top, which is beautifully fitted. The engine is the same 4-cylinder 20-horsepower powerplant that was under the hood of every Model T, but with clever gearing, it moves the truck easily, loaded or empty. Speed isn't the point, reliability is, and this ancient machine will still out-last just about anything made today on the job site. It's rebuilt and runs great thanks to a few upgrades, including a distributor for the ignition system and all new wiring. The updraft carburetor hangs under the cast iron exhaust manifold and it fires with a familiar sound that forms the background soundtrack for every old movie ever made. The basic chassis is in great shape, and wears bright red paint, a nice contrast to the red bodywork, and while it's not totally authentic, nobody will argue with how it looks. Restored wire wheels with bright orange paint sport recent 21-inch blackwall tires for a proper look. A wonderful vintage truck that always attracts a lot of attention and will be a lot of fun for parades and shows.
