But what you don't immediately realize is that while this custom build grabs all the attention at car shows and cruise-ins, you could be doing it all from air-conditioned comfort. High gloss red paint will make anything look wild, but this truck really earns its rowdy feeling in the subtle touches. Not only does the smooth custom panel that replaces the front chrome bumper add to a more sporty appearance, but it also helps draw more attention to the optional wide chrome grille. Out back deleting the bright bumper means more people see the cool tailgate with the Chevy bow-tie stamped into the metal. Even without the custom touches, this is one cool truck. It recently underwent a very high quality restoration to have the panels smoother, gaps tighter, and lines more uniform then this workhorse ever had from the factory. The real wood in the truck bed is in the correct alternating plank widths, and the condition is concours worthy. This pickup has been scrutinized right down to the little details like the bow-tie end caps for the rolled steel stepside bed. The suspension has been lowered all around, and the shorter wheels in the front give it a mean street stance. In fact, this posture helps to emphasize the lines of the forward-tilting cab to make this truck look like it's leaning into traffic and intimidating everything else on the road. If Stephen King wrote Christine about a pickup, it would have been this one. The interior goes for modern comfort, without throwing out the period-correct touches. The two-tone gray cloth/vinyl upholstery on the bench seat matches perfectly with the door panels and carpeting. The driver gets a nice new Grant GT steering wheel. This smaller diameter wheel was a nice upgrade to complement that the truck now has power steering. Beyond this is a new gauge cluster with critical info for oil pressure, water temperature, battery power, fuel, and speed. Of course the greatest convenience of this pickup is the ice-cold air conditioning. It might seem odd that after spending all this cash on upgrading the interior that there isn't a radio, but once you turn the turn the key, you'll realize the only soundtrack you want to hear is coming from the Magnaflow dual exhaust. You might miss how clean the engine bay is because all the shiny upgrades to the 350 cubic-inch V8 immediately grab your attention. As you pour through the stacks of restoration receipts that come with the pickup, you'll see the one from Harmons Machine Shop in Roanoke, Virginia. This details the custom-built small-block that includes bored .030 over kit, roller cam, and roller rockers. Plus, the performance air filter and intake make this one powerful street-eating machine. But the best part is knowing that you'll be the one to really break in this monster motor considering there are less than 1,200 miles on the odometer since its restoration. Power gets to the road through a stout 12-bolt Positraction rear end running 3.73 gears for quick acceleration. While these all sound good for a nice presentation at car shows and on the streets, there is a real consideration for comfort in this Chevy. It is an automatic transmission pickup with a Mustang II, coil over suspension, and power brakes, including discs up front. This Chevrolet 3100 has all the right looks and makes all the right sounds. The moment you pick up this pickup, it's ready to earn its first trophy. People pay for quality and we don't expect this to stay under our lights very long, call now!! 1959 Chevrolet 3100 for Sale 1959 Chevrolet 3100 for Sale Stock # 3018-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. At least, that's how the saying goes in OUR octane-fueled world. Of course, that list is a little unfair to tri-fives because, unlike death and taxes, old school Chevys are a lot of fun. And this award-winning drop-top, with its smooth LS1, paint shop-fresh restoration and thoroughly modern mechanicals, blends an array of custom, driver-friendly attributes into a fully sorted resto-mod that virtually anyone can enjoy! BODYWORK/TRIM Sure, DuPont ChromaPremier wasn't on the Chevy color chart back in 1956, but a slick coat of Super Black certainly looks the part on this awesome Bel Air. Thanks to their killer curves, these cars really lend themselves to modern 2-stage. And this classic's remarkable pigment works well with a tight, power top to freshen clean and timeless aesthetics. The car's bodywork, completed over seven years by Roger's Body Shop of Pearisburg, Virginia, presents great, with straight panels and even gaps framing doors that snap closed with precision. Finished in early 2014, that precision shows in a way that'll put most traditional pavement pounders to shame. Nothing has been chopped, channeled or frenched, which is always a smart choice on these cars. And, by allowing the car's mostly original body to speak for itself, the builders created a solid, no-gimmick classic that dazzles via merit and execution. Despite a relatively updated appearance, this bowtie's finishing pieces look so natural they could be mistaken for factory-spec. At the front of the car, a guarded bumper protects modern headlights, a fiberglass apron, clear parking lamps and a stainless grille. At the top of that grille, a chrome-trimmed hood leads the eye to smoked glass that's founded in highly polished frames and capped Rain Gear wipers. At the base of that glass, monochromatic trim spears and shaved quarter emblems give way to a polished driver's mirror, chrome door handles and straight rocker guards. And at the back of the car, a custom, 1-piece bumper rides beneath traditional tail lamps and polished trunk trim that doubles as a small Center High Mount Stop Lamp. ENGINE If you think the exterior of this classic is impressive, you're going to LOVE what's under its hood! Cranking out ample horsepower, this Bel Air's lightweight, high performance LS1 is widely regarded as one of the best small blocks ever produced. Donated by a 1999 Camaro, it combines a sturdy aluminum block with lightweight aluminum heads, a Chevrolet Performance Hot Cam and aluminum flat top pistons to create razor-sharp throttle response and lightning quick acceleration. At the front of the mill, a Vintage Air Front Runner system spins a rebuilt alternator and fresh AC compressor at the sides of a polished, "LS1" branded air filter. Once air enters that filter, it flows through a factory throttle body in to a factory-spec intake, which is bolted down over mostly stock internals. High-octane fossils are provided by GM electronic fuel injection. Sparks are sequenced from a Street & Performance wiring harness to high performance plug wires. Spent gases exit through coated Street & Performance headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a polished aluminum radiator that rides between two large puller fans and a Vintage Cooling Systems support. Visually, not a detail was missed under this Chevy's Super Black bonnet. Niceties such as polished valve covers, a Wilwood master cylinder, trick dipsticks and a custom cowl provide just the right amount of flash to give the engine a clean, finished look. And the vicious small block fires right up, idles perfectly and accelerates like a modern sports car! DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Structurally, the '56 Chevrolet is an extremely versatile platform that can accept a wide variety of enhancements. And one look under this Bel Air provides a glimpse of how a few modifications can make a big difference. The car's glossy Bel Air Classic chassis rides opposite a fully finished, 1-piece floorpan and custom mini tubs. Behind the hot small block, a Camaro-sourced 4L60E automatic easily torques a narrowed 12-bolt, which spins a posi-traction differential around 3.73 gears and fresh Moser axles. At the front of the car, stainless Heidts control arms and proven Ridetech air shocks frame power rack-and-pinion steering. At the back of the car, a stainless Heidts 4-bar leads two more Ridetech air shocks. Stops come courtesy of Wilwood 4 and 6-piston calipers, which squeeze four drilled and slotted rotors. Exhaust is handled by polished, Mandrel-bent pipes, which utilize polished Kooks mufflers to create an awesome chorus of sound. Grip is provided by stylish Billet Specialties wheels, which spin 245/40ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 335/30ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As. And everything, from the car's Wilwood proportioning valve to its Rock Valley fuel tank, appears purpose-built to tackle the asphalt. INTERIOR There's no shortage of tri-fives with custom interiors. But this cockpit, high-dollar leather installed by Roanoke, Virginia's Horne's Upholstery, is certainly a stand out. With Vintage Air conditioning, power windows and a powerful Clarion CD player, all the modern conveniences are present and accounted for. One of the best additions to the cabin is a fresh quartet of bucket seats, all of which are based on modern bones. In front of those seats, a padded, billet-trimmed dash frames clean Dakota Digital VHX telemetry. At the sides of that dash, sculpted door panels hang chrome hardware over custom kick panels and big Nakamichi speakers. Beneath those speakers, tight California Carpet floats color-keyed floor mats around billet foot pedals, a small Hurst shifter and a lit, full-length console. In front of the driver, a painted, tilting column spins a painted, reduced-diameter wheel. And behind the passengers, a fully finished trunk provides a perfect place to display trophies. AWARDS Speaking of trophies, this Chevy is certainly privy to golden accolades. Here's a list of the major awards bestowed since the car's recent restoration.Top 25 at the 2014 Pigeon Forge Rod RunShow-Class Outstanding at the 2014 Bristol Super Chevy ShowBest Tri-Five at the 2014 Bristol Super Chevy Show To borrow a quote from Ed Cole, former Chevrolet Chief Engineer: "We got a big kick out of designing this new Chevrolet, and you will get an even bigger one out of driving it." Fun was, and is, an inherent part of building or driving any tri-five Chevy. And, with its impressive engine, comfortable interior and relentless style, this slick '56 is sure to be a blast! If you're ready to own a classic that can truly do it all, fire up your phone, clear some garage space and claim this awesome resto-mod! [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1955 Chevrolet 210 National Award Winning 210 383/425 HP V8 5 Speed Manual Leather PS A/C Year: 1955 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Blue Mileage: 1340 Transmission type: 5 Speed Manual Engine: 383 V8 Interior color: White Vehicle Info In the collector car hobby, you can find tons of awesome tri-fives which carry timeless style that will forever be associated with one of the greatest designs in automotive history. But as nice as those cars are, their extensive use of chrome and avid dedication to concours homogeny has almost become a handicap in today's modernist hot rod culture. "Sleek" and "Contemporary" are increasingly becoming key words for most classic car builders, and that means rides like this awesome 1955 210 are really starting to hit their prime. Built as a head turning classic that looks good and performs great, this cool old Chevy wraps a stunning exterior around a mean, 383 cubic inch stroker motor, a proven Tremec TKO500 transmission and a custom leather interior that's complete with modern air conditioning. If you're a fan 50s Chevrolet design, but would rather have an edgy hot rod than a chrome-laden parking lot princess, this razor-sharp resto-mod is the shining star you've been wishing on! When a gearhead says the words "Sleek" and "Contemporary", the first thing that usually comes to mind is a mirror-like coat of high quality urethane that's sealed over a fully restored, arrow-straight body. And naturally, this sedan's killer combination of House Of Kolor True Blue and Cadillac White Diamond displays deep reflections on virtually flawless surfaces. Those deep reflections are the result of a complete, frame-off restoration that was facilitated by the car's original family. And today, this classy Chevy is a super cool crowd pleaser that storms sweltering summer show fields like a refreshing fall breeze! It's no secret that the very best customs are those which draw the eye by adjusting a car's original attributes. The spectator KNOWS something is different, but has to think about the model's form and, over time, virtually decode its appearance - that's true art! At the front of this Chevy's bright profile, a trademark stainless grille is centered between chrome-trimmed headlights, a nosed hood, clear parking lamps and a slick smoothie bumper. At the sides of that Ferrari-inspired grille, sharp fender lines lead the eye to a clean profile that's accented by chrome door handles, a shaved fuel door and traditional quarter spears. Above those fender lines, lightly smoked glass floats behind new stainless trim and mirrored stainless wipers. And at the back of that glass, a decked trunk rides between chrome-trimmed tail lights, a body-width bumper and big stainless exhaust tips. By now it's probably pretty obvious this tri-five was built to be seen. But, thanks to the 383 cubic inch stroker under its hood, that might be easier said than done! The car's 425 horsepower amalgamation of chrome and True Blue pigment revs under a chrome Edelbrock carburetor that's sandwiched between a bowtie wing nut, a chrome, "CHEVROLET" branded air cleaner, braided fuel lines and a chrome Edelbrock intake. At the perimeter of that intake, aluminum GM Performance Parts heads prop polished valve covers under bowtie-branded hardware while a modern HEI distributor shoots spark through red GM Performance Parts plug wires. Below those wires, snazzy bowtie looms float over ceramic coated headers while a Concept One pulley system spins a chrome water pump between polished AC components, a chrome alternator, billet power steering components and a chrome fuel pump. And in front of that fuel pump, a beefy Griffin radiator circulates clean coolant between a polished overflow tank and two quick spinning puller fans. Despite being a modern piece, the hot small block looks right at home in this 210's clean engine compartment. And details like body-matched fenders, a chrome brake booster, a polished Street and Performance water neck and chrome corrugated hoses create a nice, finished appearance. I know what you're thinking... Despite that stroked motor, this Chevy's just another garden-variety 350/350 rod. Well, guess again. The stout small block utilizes a modern Tremec 5-speed to spin a tough Quick Performance 9-inch around eager 3.70 gears. That tweaked drivetrain is housed in a completely rebuilt suspension which, with the help of Eckler's power rack and pinion steering and Eckler's power, 4-wheel disc brakes, provides excellent handling. And that rebuilt suspension, fitted with a custom Heidts front clip, Eckler's springs, an Eckler's sway bar and adjustable air shocks, rides on a classic combination of Foose Legends wheels and aggressive Riken radials. Naturally, the car's solid floors have been color-matched in a durable coat of House Of Kolor True Blue. Completely fresh hardware is present and accounted for from its big stainless fuel tank all the way to its lines and hoses. A raucous engine note is provided by aluminized, true-dual pipes that breathe through dual-chamber Flowmaster mufflers. And all this stellar hardware and expert craftsmanship adds up to one awesome, road ready classic that'll provide years of carefree cruising! Installed by the pros at King's Auto Upholstery in Roanoke, Virginia, this 210's Pearl White cockpit presents the kind of quality craftsmanship that separates parade cars from Power Tour cars. The power front bucket and rear bench seats, which cost right at $15K, are covered in soft hides that display no significant wear. In front of those seats, a painted and leather-topped dash is detailed with polished trim, Classic Instruments gauges and hardware for a modern Vintage Air climate system. Below that dash, high quality carpet anchors a chrome Hurst shifter, a remote controlled JVC CD player and small power window switches between billet foot pedals and color-keyed floor mats. At the sides of that console, custom door panels look great between painted frames, classy billet handles and traditionally sculpted armrests. Above those panels, a custom headliner frames a fully functional dome light. In front of the driver, a polished and half-wrapped steering wheel spins around a polished, tilting column. And behind the passengers, a custom package tray hangs two small speakers above a custom upholstered trunk. Fresh out of its professional restoration, this Chevy won a pile of national awards. Here's a list of the car's most significant accolades:NSRA Pick at the 2010 Run to the SunTrailered Custom Senior First Place at the 2010 Music City Chevy Show (999/1000 points)Outstanding 1955-57 Modified at the 2010 Virginia Motorsports Park Super Chevy ShowTrailered Custom First Place at the 2010 Winter National (994/1000 points)Trailered Custom Senior First Place at the 2011 Winter National (999/1000 points)Outstanding Modified at the 2011 Virginia Motorsports Park Super Chevy Show The sale of this top notch classic includes an album of restoration photos, a pile of restoration receipts, a few component manuals and the aforementioned awards. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1967 Buick GS400 9,690 Actual Mile Award Winning GS400 V8 4 Speed Year: 1967 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Black Mileage: 9661 Transmission type: 4 Speed Manual Engine: 400 V8 Interior color: Yellow Vehicle info We've all heard the Cinderella stories about fully documented survivor cars that one owner fastidiously preserves and another owner stumbles upon and turns into gold. The problem is most of those fairy tales involve models that are very common in collector car folklore and, despite high five or even six digit price tags, almost always have equally impressive peers. Well, as you all know, the dedicated staff at RK Motors Charlotte specializes in both rare AND unique automobiles. And our latest one-of-a-kind offering, this custom ordered 9,645 mile Buick GS 400, is the nicest '67 survivor we've ever seen and undoubtedly the finest unrestored Buick in the world. As an all original head turner that's spent most of its life in the hands of one dedicated owner, it's the perfect piece for any collector who wants a first rate classic with an outstanding history. And best of all, the car is fully documented from its original window sticker all the way to its recent feature in Hemmings Muscle Machines. If you're looking for some killer blue chip muscle that has an amazing story and even more impressive provenance, Buick built it and RK Motors Charlotte is selling it! Our story begins roughly six years ago when this time capsule tri-shield's current owner was strolling through a national Buick event and noticed the car's peculiar yellow interior. As the second generation owner of a GM dealership he had spent most of his early years watching the best of Detroit's power-happy creations roll straight off the truck and straight into the showroom, so he certainly knew a unique color combination when he saw it. It wasn't long before an older gentleman confirmed the car was for sale and then confirmed it was indeed an all original 1967 GS 400 that had racked up only 9K miles in almost 40 years. After a bit of small talk a few weeks of negotiations commenced and the older gentleman, who certainly knew what he had, agreed to one lump sum payment of cash. It took a little time for the car's current owner to round up the Benjamins, but after visiting four banks and securing a cooler to carry the money in, he headed to Virginia to pick up his new one-of-a-kind muscle car. Only after hands were shook and the older gentleman and his wife had finished counting the money did they decide to reveal the car's whole story and shed light on how it managed to survive in essentially showroom fresh condition. The older gentleman, love struck and ready to settle down, wanted to impress his soon to be bride by special ordering Buick's hottest new model from Blue Ridge Motors in Roanoke, Virginia. Every red-blooded car guy knows that girls love fast cars, so the division's Stage 1 400 with no power steering and no air conditioning was mandatory equipment. A trailer package, which provided stiffer rear springs, and an M20 Muncie 4-speed were thrown in for good measure. And last but not least, the car's interior HAD to match his future wife's gorgeous blonde hair. Unfortunately, as we all know, nothing in this life is guaranteed and the bride to be found another man before the badass GS even rolled off the assembly line. The gentleman was crushed but decided to take the car anyway and ended up tucking it away in his father's basement for the better part of 38 years. When the gentleman's pre-ordered Buick arrived at Roanoke's Blue Ridge Motors, the dealer took a little Windex and plastered the car's original window sticker to the inside of its black decklid. That 45 year old window sticker, which has remained on the car's decklid ever since, breaks down as follows: BUICK GS400 2-DOOR SPORT COUPE: $3,019 STANDARD EQUIPMENT:Deluxe steering wheelCarpetingDual hornsFoam padded seat cushionsDual exhaustAsh tray lightGlove compartment lightWhite or red stripe wide oval tiresHeavy duty Energizer OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:193: Vinyl Strato Bucket seats ($68.46)M20: Floor shifted 4-speed transmission ($184.31)J50: Power brakes ($41.60)U63: Sonomatic radio with manual antenna ($64.25)U80: Rear seat speaker ($16.64)G80: Positive traction differential ($42.13)G50: Trailer towing option ($3.69)A39: Custom front and rear seatbelts ($6.32)A01: Soft Ray tinted glass ($30.54)B93: Door guards ($4.74)W22: Electric clock and trunk light ($17.90)P05: Chrome plated wheels ($90.58)B85: Belt reveal moldings ($14.74) TOTAL OPTIONS: $585.90 TOTAL VEHICLE PRICE: $3,604.90 Few traditional Buick buyers would ever think of ordering their new luxury car in a sinister coat of GM's code A black. Fewer still would ever dream of accenting that wet looking pigment with a pair of bright red pin stripes. But that's exactly what the original owner of this GS did; and today, thanks to hardly ever seeing sun, rain or street time, the car's mirror-like finish is a largely flaw-free celebration of lacquer laden originality. That said, the body' glossy panels are not devoid of all character like so many fresh frame-off restorations. Rather, they carry just the right amount of wear under a soft shine that simply cannot be duplicated with today's perfected basecoat/clearcoat paint process. Under that vintage single-stage paint, all original OEM sheetmetal shows no signs of botched repairs, accident damage or cancerous rust. And overall, this Buick is as close to factory perfect as a five decades removed classic can get. For 1967 the GS graduated from an options package to a full model line that featured small aesthetic tweaks and a lot more attitude. The result was a substantial looking car which managed to feel more upscale than its GM stable mates while retaining the same broad shouldered, all-American attitude. At the front of this Buick's long body, a broad chrome bumper hangs clear, square marker lights below a deep-set grille which centers a concave divider between red GS ornamentation and four silver-trimmed T3 headlights. At the top of the body, a canted "BUICK" script fronts a sculpted hood which flows to factory glass that's capped by chrome drip rails, bordered by well-maintained stainless trim and cleared by satin finished wiper arms. At the sides of the body, ribbed rocker trim combines with fresh stainless wheel well trim to parallel factory ventiports, original "GS400" quarter emblems, traditional chrome door handles and Buick branded mirrors. And at the back of this Buick, a second chrome bumper centers like-new reverse lamps below a black "GS400" branded rear valence, a second canted "BUICK" script and stylish, stainless-trimmed tail lights. Of special interest are the factory installed rocker panel moldings. Talk to many casual Buick GS "experts" and they will tell you these were not available in 1967. This only means they haven't actually seen them before-but these are originals and the car was delivered with them new! Since GM's 'doctors and lawyers' division decided to get serious about their performance image, they also upped the ante in the engine compartment by equipping their newly christened GS with a first rendition of their now legendary big block V8. Hoist this car's glossy black hood and you'll find 400 cubic inches of untouched, original Buick muscle that produces 340 horsepower, spins stout 10.25 to 1 compression into 440 lb./ft. of torque, and wears a correct 1381624 casting number above a 1967-exclusive NR assembly stamp. At the top of that sinister red block, a familiar Rochester Quadrajet carburetor mixes air from Buick's trademark 'Star Wars' air cleaner with dino juice that's supplied by original stainless fuel lines. At the sides of that carburetor, original semi-wedge heads hang "400-4" branded valve covers over deep breathing cast iron exhaust manifolds. In front of those manifolds, a traditional points distributor shoots fire through authentic Packard TV R Suppression wires. And in front of that distributor, a gloss black radiator circulates coolant through pliable original hoses and authentic tower clamps. In addition to its killer powerplant, this GS maintains a correctly detailed engine bay that's complete with a '67 model washer tank, a Delco Energizer battery and an original brake booster which still wears a "UA" branded assembly tag. Aesthetically, the car's satin black fenders perfectly complement both its bright red engine block and factory-equipped hood insulation. And mechanically this awesome Buick is in outstanding original condition, performing just as well now as when it rolled out of Blue Ridge Motors' Roanoke showroom. At the bottom of this stunning survivor a clean undercarriage tells a long story of excellent maintenance and carefully chosen road time. Naturally the GS hotter engine needed a better drivetrain to effectively establish street credibility, so Buick complemented the car's styling tweaks with a few mechanical adjustments and a number of strengthened components. At the center of the floors a rugged, and original, M20 Muncie 4-speed transmission hangs a correct 3885010 casting number and a Muncie (P) assembled on June (H) 19th (19) 1967 (7) build stamp in front of an original Posi-traction Salisbury rear end that's complete with oversize axle shafts. At the ends of that drivetrain an original heavy duty suspension, which includes thicker sway bars, better shocks, stiffer springs and the aforementioned trailer towing upgrade, combines with Buick's familiar power assisted aluminum drums up front and power-assisted steel drums out back to provide quick stops and great handling. And at the corners of that chassis, power flows to the pavement through original 14 inch Buick Sport wheels which spin original F70-14 Goodyear Custom Wide Tread Polyglas redlines around clean red, white and blue center caps. Speaking of floors the car's straight and solid pans, which are bolted to Buick's heavy duty convertible frame, still hang 99% of their satin black paint over satin black suspension components that still retain much of their factory shine. Spent gases flow through original factory pipes that still employ assembly line correct, GM stamped mufflers. And, based on a quick visual inspection, all the car's hardware and bushings appear to be in good, road-ready condition. Climb inside this timeless Buick muscle car and you'll find a completely original GM code 193 interior that is both comfortable and appealing. As the story goes, this unique color combination came about because the owner of the car wanted vinyl that matched his beloved fianc's blonde hair. Fortunately, even though their love for one another waivered and faded, this GS' interior has remained youthful and true. Covered in original Madrid Grain surfaces (Buick speak for high quality vinyl), the car's firm front bucket and rear bench seats are comfortable, solid and provide spacious seating for at least five. At the center of the cockpit, an optional stainless trimmed consolette props a Buick factory tachometer and an original black shifter above like-new black carpet, heavy duty rubber floor mats and optional Fisher lap belts. Above that consolette, a warp-free dash hangs bright silver trim between original gauges, an original AM/FM radio and a dealer installed stainless tissue dispenser. At the sides of the seats, original yellow door panels feature bright "GS400" emblems, great looking trim, stain-free armrests and pit-free chrome handles. And at the top of the car, a tight black headliner looks as good as the day it left the assembly line. Connecting the driver to the road is a great looking original steering wheel which prominently displays a modernist design theme around a small red, white and blue Buick emblem. And behind the passengers, an optional rear speaker hangs over a super clean trunk that's equipped with original factory decals, an original spare tire and the car's original dealer-applied window sticker. It should come as no surprise that, when this epic tri-shield came out of hiding, it began racking up some serious accolades. Here's a comprehensive list of its recent awards and accomplishments:Featured in the 2010 edition of Hemmings calendarFeatured in the July 2008 edition of Hemmings Muscle MachinesConcours Gold winner at the 2008 Buick GS Nationals in Bowling Green, Kentucky1999 AACA National First Prize winner But wait, there's more. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport Goodguys Muscle Car of The Year Finalist Chevelle SS 396 V8 M20 4 Speed Year: 1966 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Blue Mileage: 60478 Transmission type: 4 Speed Manual Engine: 396 V8 Interior color: Black Vehicle info Like the Bel Air that came before it, the Chevelle was one of those cars Chevrolet aced right out of the gate. Eventually, thanks to GM's continuous improvement and consumer's continuous support, the marque became one of the strongest brands in automotive history. And at one point, with a full list of body styles, options, trim grades, color combinations, and mild to outrageous engines, the challenge became picking a platform which optimized variety and livability. Whoever checked the options sheet for this investment grade 1966 Super Sport probably came as close as you can get to having it all. Its original big block 396 V8 is a go-to heavyweight for both stoplight brawlers and drag strip warriors. Its correct Muncie 4-speed transmission is as spirited as it is reliable. And its super slick Marina Blue on black color combination literally defines the word classic. If you're in the market for a top notch example of one of the best Chevrolets ever produced, this national award winner is just the car you've been looking for! As Chevelle enthusiasts, we all know it can be very hard to prove the authenticity of Chevrolet's most famous muscle car. Fortunately the record keepers won a small victory in 1966 and every one of Chevrolet's coveted SS396 cars received a specially sequenced vehicle identification number. Here's a breakdown of this real deal Super Sport's factory VIN plate:1: Chevrolet38: SS396, 8-cylinder17: 2-door sport coupe6: 1966 model yearZ: Manufactured on GM's Fremont, California assembly line104519: Production sequence number Born at GM's storied, and still somewhat operational, Fremont Assembly, this awesome '66 Chevelle hardtop is the recent beneficiary of a nut and bolt rotisserie restoration that massaged every square inch of its sculpted metal into concours show condition. The car's frame-off transformation began when long-time Chevelle buff Jim Germann completely acid dipped its solid body in preparation for some minor rust repair. Once that body re-emerged and air cured, Jim bolted up a new hood, welded in a new trunk pan and blended a few small patches below its rear window and at the bottom of its right quarter panel. Eventually, with the car patched, prepped and ready to go, the world class technicians at Wooding's Auto Body in Roanoke, Virginia seamed a thick coat of primer with POR 15 rust inhibitor and sprayed a spectacular coat of correct GM code F Marina Blue paint under a glossy clearcoat shell. And today, this top notch Chevelle is as a spectacular muscle car which combines the best aspects of big block Chevrolet performance with the gratuitous fun and old school style that only a classic can provide! When it comes to classic cars a lot of people simply don't understand the true meaning of the word "concours". Make no mistake, in this context the word does indeed still refer to the assembly of a bunch of different elements. However, that traditional meaning is augmented by the added significance of both "original" and "perfect"; as in, getting the car as close to original and perfect as humanly possible. That means the significance of a showpiece like this Chevelle, which has had all its original trim fully restored or replaced with true NOS pieces, cannot be taken lightly. At the front of this bright blue trophy winner you'll find a black, body-width grille which hangs a fresh and prominent "SS396" emblem between small AACA plaques, four halogen headlights and an original, re-chromed bumper. At the top of the car, a pristine Super Sport hood props a chrome center spear and chrome SS396 louvers in front of all new glass that's framed by dent-free stainless trim, cleared by familiar stainless wipers and capped by fresh stainless drip rails. At the sides of the car ribbed rocker guards, fade-free fender trim and obligatory chrome door handles combine with detailed cross-flag emblems, a correct chrome mirror and monochromatic "Super Sport" scripts to detail a tasteful, conservative profile. And at the back of the car, a traditional black valence centers a wide-set "CHEVELLE" script between a second "SS396" emblem, crystal clear tail lights and a second re-chromed bumper. If you wanted a top of the line Chevelle in 1966 you had one option: 396 cubic inches of big block Detroit iron! Rolling out of the factory with stout 10.25 to 1 compression, an impressive 325 horsepower and a massive 410 lb./ft. of torque, this Super Sport's original L35 V8 wears a correct "EH" suffix stamp and a matching 104519 partial VIN in front of a correct 3855961 casting number. At the top of that big engine, oxygen is forced into a fully detailed single snorkel air cleaner which rides on an old school 4-barrel carburetor and a cast iron intake manifold. At the sides of that intake spotless chrome valve covers reflect fresh Packard Radio TVRS wires above correct heads and fully restored exhaust manifolds. At the back of those valve covers, a reproduction points distributor rides between a rebuilt wiper motor, an NOS GM coil and a rebuilt and re-plated power brake booster. At the opposite end of the engine bay a re-cored radiator sends coolant around a shrouded, 4-blade fan via reproduction GM hoses and a full set of tower clamps. And at the side of that radiator, spark is supplied by a reproduction Delco battery which is spliced into to all new wiring and all new harnesses. Naturally the car's satin black engine bay, which consists of powder coated NOS fenders and a powder coated NOS core support, is 100% correct and looks great. Its Chevy Orange block, which has been bored .030 over and fitted with stock valve seats, still features original California smog equipment that adds both value and collectability. And everything from the car's rebuilt, original horns to its powder coated brackets and powder coated pulleys displays the kind of excellent attention to detail that ensures both big points and great performance. Underneath this rock solid A-Body 'better-than-new' is the prevalent theme with freshly over-restored floors, which are covered in a super slick coat of gloss black paint, hanging over a spotless and highly detailed chassis. Behind the car's stout big block a correct Muncie M20 4-speed transmission sends power from an 11 inch clutch and a polished 11 inch bellhousing to a rebuilt 12 bolt Posi-traction rear end that's equipped with easy driving 3.31 gears. Holding that killer drivetrain off the ground is a completely restored factory suspension that's been thoroughly sandblasted and layered in a durable coat of epoxy paint. And correct power steering combines with correct, and fully rebuilt, power drum brakes to provide greatly improved turns and modern car stops. At the center of the floors, the big engine's restored manifolds dump spent gases into an aluminized true dual exhaust system that's complete with factory replacement turbo mufflers. At the corners of the floors, rare 14 inch steel wheels spin 7.75-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown redlines around pristine dog dish hubcaps. And naturally the bottom of this first class Chevelle is as pristine as it is spotless, with everything from the car's new stainless fuel tank to its correct spiral shocks completely detailed for both show and go! Pop this Super Sport's sculpted doors open and you'll find a correct GM code 763 black imitation leather interior which is, for the most part, exactly how it rolled out of the factory. The car's correct front bucket and rear bench seats, which were rebuilt with fresh foam, wrapped in new seat covers and bolted to freshly powder coated brackets, show virtually no wear at all. In front of those seats a warp-free dash hangs rebuilt gauges and a correct Delco AM/FM radio above a rebuilt tachometer and a slick pair of NOS kick panels. Below that dash a great looking console frames a chrome floor shifter and a correct clock in pristine stainless trim. And below that console, like-new carpet perfectly complements a complete set of NOS Fisher lap belts. In front of the driver, an original GM steering wheel and an NOS rearview mirror provide an authentic motoring experience. At the sides of the cockpit, fade-free black door panels center pristine stainless trim and new chrome handles around straight and pliable armrests. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air National Award Winning Bel Air Convertible 283/220 HP Year: 1957 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: White Mileage: 1056 Transmission type: 2 Speed Automatic Engine: 283 V8 Interior color: Red Vehicle info Experience tells us some restorations are so nice there's simply no way we can charge enough to cover the cost of their builds. And with 1957 Bel Air convertibles being six-figure purchases as is, we can't even imagine what it took to transform this killer tri-five into a national award winner. You see, collector cars are all about passion. And we've found that the best metal is built by guys who are interested in more than the money a project commands. Wrapping a correct white, red and silver color combination around a correct 283/Powerglide drivetrain, this slick rag top is the kind of well-done classic that'll have you racking up trophies and dreaming of sunsets. If you're one of the many enthusiasts who's constantly torn between the cool feeling of cruising the strip and the proud feeling of rounding the show circuit, why not enjoy a little of both? This exceptionally clean drop-top is a no-compromises build that combines everything great about Bel Air design with marvelous craftsmanship and a correct Chevrolet small block. Officially revived by Steven King of Roanoke, Virginia, this pristine convertible was completely stripped and given a high quality, frame-off restoration that ensured every one of its tall body panels were returned to better-than-factory solidity. Once the car's fenders and doors were mocked up, its ripple-free body was blanketed in correct Imperial Ivory PPG and buried in a durable clearcoat shell. And today, this Chevy rolls as a refreshing spin on a traditional look that combines the visual punch of a classic Ferrari with the visual class of a vintage Cadillac. The '57 is certainly the most well-known of the tri-fives, with brilliant trim and crisp, retro styling that strikes a perfect balance between grandiose '50s bling and exaggerated '60s proportions. At the front of the car, a guarded, body-width bumper centers a gold Bel Air grille behind a pristine Chevrolet crest and two clear parking lamps. Above that crest, Bel Air-exclusive header ornamentation rides between hooded T3 headlights and '57 Chevy-exclusive 'spear bullets and spoons'. At the sides of those headlights, classic tri-five stainless, which visually connects the car's fenders with its fins, is branded by Bel Air-exclusive emblems that display no dulling or imperfections of any kind. At the top of those emblems, curvy chrome trim combines with correct chrome mirrors, new stainless wipers and a black vinyl roof to perfectly frame tinted greenhouse glass. At the back of that roof, peaked stainless caps begin at the top of the car's fins and crawl past angled antennas to a second guarded bumper, optional reverse lamps and '57 Chevy-exclusive tail lights. And above that bumper, a Bel Air-exclusive "Chevrolet" script complements a matching gold "V" and traditional gold tag frame. In the '50s, Chevrolet's 283 cubic inch Super Turbo Fire V8 was the most common choice for factory GM performance. It made an advertised 220 horsepower, created a stout 300 lb./ft. of torque and, even in today's world of 300 horsepower grocery getters, is still quick and very impressive. Follow this Bel Air's slick Imperial shine into its highly detailed engine bay and you'll find a fully rebuilt small block that's been bored .30 over, fitted with hardened valve seats and layered in a thick coat of Chevy Orange paint. At the top of that legendary mill, an old school, gloss black air cleaner funnels wind into a Power Pack-exclusive 4-barrel that's complete with a familiar AC fuel bowl. At the base of that carburetor, a correct cast iron intake feeds air and fuel to authentic Power Pack heads that are capped by stamped and silver-detailed valve covers. At the back of that intake, a traditional points distributor shoots fire through 7mm AC Delco Premium Wires, which are organized into painted metal looms. Once those fires have been lit, a glossy black radiator circulates coolant through reproduction GM hoses and authentic squeeze clamps. Once that air and fuel is torched, bare metal exhaust manifolds whisk spent gases into a Power Pack true-dual exhaust system. And once combustion is created, new V-belts spin a tagged Delco-Remy generator opposite factory power steering. Everything in this Bel Air's freshly painted engine bay is as complete as its pristine exterior panels. And not a detail was missed during the car's calculated restoration; with items like correct tags, correct decals and a Delco yellow cap battery setting a trophy-winning tone. Under this razor-sharp drop-top, a stunningly straight chassis is finished in standard Satin Black paint and, when viewed next to the car's plethora of powdercoated suspension parts, looks so nice you'll swear it's seen less than 100 miles of country black top. Above that top notch chassis, solid red floorpans wear a chip-free coat of what appears to be traditional oxide primer. Behind the engine, a correct 2-speed Powerglide transmission spins torque to a correct rear end that's rebuilt with NOS bearings and 3.36 NOS gears. Holding that road ready powertrain in place is a fully restored suspension which includes traditional control arms up front, correct leaf springs out back and fresh spiral shocks at all four corners. Modern car turning characteristics are provided by an optional power steering system. Short, confident stops come courtesy of optional power drum brakes. At the center of the floor, a 2.5-inch, true-dual exhaust system sends spent gases through deep-sounding turbo mufflers to aluminized tips. And the power hits the pavement thanks to 14-inch steelies, which spin old fashioned 7.50-14 Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewalls around ornate stainless covers. The spectacular cockpits in second generation Bel Airs need no introduction, but here goes. Depress the button on this Chevy's bright chrome door handle and you'll find a correct GM code 683 Red and Silver interior that was installed by Freddie King of Roanoke, Virginia. The rebuilt front and rear bench seats are all-day comfortable and feature supple, chrome-trimmed hides that fit well and feel great. Beneath those seats, fresh black carpet props Bel Air-crested floor mats next to clean silver kick panels and bright Fisher sill plates. At the edges of that carpet, flawless two-tone door panels are anchored beneath sculpted toppers and classy stainless frames. At the front of those panels, a bright red dash is dotted with a Wonder Bar radio, stylish, bowtie-branded gauges and spectacular chrome trim. The driver spins a correct red steering wheel around a chrome horn ring and classic Chevrolet centerpiece. And passengers store their essentials in a freshly finished trunk that features a correct mat, a correct jack, a correct decal and a full-size spare tire. As previously mentioned, this awesome cruiser is the recipient of many prestigious accolades. In 2010, it was awarded National First Prize by the AACA and nominated as an Outstanding Vehicle. That same year, it scored 980 out of 1000 points to earn a Chevy Classics Club Platinum Award. And, in 2011, it was given AACA's Preservation Award and once again nominated as an Outstanding Vehicle. When you add up all the ingredients that went into building this killer Bel Air, it becomes obvious that someone really cherished the car. There are no shortcuts, no marginal parts and nothing that looks out of place on what is uniformly a high-quality piece. Of course, quality never goes out of style. If you're bored with the showroom-static tri-fives that dominate today's concours events, this stunning 210 is the car for you! With serious go power, a comfortable interior and tons of high performance hardware, it's the kind of classic that can be enjoyed year after year. So, what are you waiting for? [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport National Award Winning Chevelle SS 396 V8 M20 4 Speed Year: 1966 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Blue Mileage: 60478 Transmission type: 4 Speed Manual Engine: 396 V8 Interior color: Black Vehicle info Like the Bel Air that came before it, the Chevelle was one of those cars Chevrolet aced right out of the gate. And behind the passengers, an optional rear speaker tops a fully restored trunk that includes a correct mat, a full-size spare tire and correct decklid decals. Naturally after Jim Germann finished building it, and Wooding's Auto Body finished slicking it up, this pristine Chevrolet muscle car hit the show circuit and scored many national awards. The car's long list of prestigious accolades includes:AACA Senior Grand National winner at the 2008 Grand National Meet in Melbourne, FloridaAACA Preservation winner at the 2008 Grand National Meet in Melbourne, FloridaAACA Preservation winner at the 2008 Southeastern Division Nationals in Charlotte, North CarolinaAACA Senior Grand National winner at the 2007 Grand National Meet in Kalamazoo, MichiganAACA Preservation winner at the 2006 Southeastern Division Nationals in Asheville, North CarolinaAACA Preservation winner at the 2006 Eastern Division Nationals in Hershey, PennsylvaniaAACA Preservation winner at the 2005 Eastern Division Nationals in Greensburg, PennsylvaniaAACA Preservation winner at the 2005 Southeastern Division Nationals in Jeffersonville, IndianaAACA Preservation winner at the 2005 Southeastern Division Nationals in Roanoke, VirginiaAACA Preservation winner at the 2005 Central Division Nationals in Warren, OhioAACA Preservation winner at the 2004 Southeastern Division Nationals in Asheboro, North CarolinaAACA Preservation winner at the 2004 Grand National Meet in Buffalo, New YorkAACA First Senior winner at the 2003 Eastern Division Nationals in Carlisle, PennsylvaniaAACA First Junior winner at the 2003 Southeastern Division Nationals in Greenville, South Carolina2007 Goodguys Muscle Car of the Year Finalist The sale of this awesome Chevelle includes a reproduction owner's manual, copies of the car's two previous titles and a 2007 Goodguys Gazette in which it's showcased as a Muscle Car of The Year finalist.
