1969 Jaguar E-Type XKE 2+2 FHC Coupe Series II The legendary Jaguar E-Type (a.k.a. Jaguar XK-E) was manufactured between 1961 and 1975. Its combination of good looks, high performance and competitive pricing established the marque as an icon of 1960’s motoring. On its release Enzo Ferrari called it "The most beautiful car ever made". In March 2008, the Jaguar E-Type ranked first in a The Daily Telegraph online list of the world's "100 most beautiful cars" of all time, and in 2004, Sports Car International magazine placed the E-Type at number one on their list of Top Sports Cars of the 1960’s. The E-Type was initially designed and shown to the public as a rear-wheel drive grand tourer in two-seater coupé form (FHC or Fixed Head Coupé) and as a two-seater convertible (OTS or Open Two Seater). A "2+2" four-seater version of the coupé, with a lengthened wheelbase, was released several years later. Throughout its production span there were 3 different variations of the E-Type, specifically referred to as Series I, Series II, and Series III About the car: Up for auction is NUMBERS MATCHING 1969 Jaguar E-Type XKE 2+2 Series II Coupe in need of finishing up the restoration. From 1968-1971 there were only 5,326 2+2 Series II Coupes Produced and this beautiful Jag is one of them. Series II cars have been known to be the best drivers and most reliable of the E-Type lines. Besides being a NUMBERS MATCHING CAR, This Jaguar comes with all desirable factory options like Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Automatic Transmission, and legendary and highly desirable 4.2 straight six cylinder engine! Current owner owned it since 1995, and it was his pride and joy for the past 20 years! He started cosmetic restoration of this XKE few years ago, as he wanted to return it to its former glory. Car shows no signs of any accidents, and It was a solid car to start with, bonnet was nice and straight, paint was stripped, and any issues that the car had which were minimal were fixed. Included is a picture of the car and how it looked right before the restoration started. Engine and transmission were rebuild about 10 years ago, but he only put about 1,000 miles on the car since mechanical restoration and drove it sparingly until he started cosmetic restoration couple of years ago. He wanted to finish it up, but his health condition prevented him from doing so and unfortunately from him, and fortunately for its new buyer this beauty is now offered for sale! All this Jaguar needs now is for someone to paint it, and put the trim back together! While body was getting prepped for the new paint, whole suspension including struts, control arms, ball joints was all overhauled and replaced as well. This Jag also sits on 4 BRAND NEW tires!! This Jaguar is very solid and it makes a great candidate for a show quality restoration!!! With a nice paint job back to its original and elegant Light Blue paint, refreshed interior this beauty will be turning heads in no time!!! This Jaguar XK8 is a 2005 model year which received a number of cosmetic enhancements for that year including reworked nose and ground effects. The superb 300 Horsepower 4.2 V8 mated to a 6 speed ZF transmission features here which gives more power and better MPG than the previous 4.0 V8. ( high 20s average MPG is what I received in a similar car over an 1100 mile trip recently. I wasn't feathering the throttle pedal either. I was getting the job done! The 4.2 Liter XK8 is the one to own. An absolute pleasure. This car has been inspected and found to be mechanically and electrically sound. This car is in excellent and original condition throughout and is a tribute to its previous owner. Very good 'Continental' tires (at least 70% tread life remaining) all around adorn the Factory rims. Yes folks, the car comes with OWNERS MANUALS and the convertible BOOT COVER, all present and correct. This Jaguar has benefited its entire life from a Jaguar /Select Edition warranty so has wanted for nothing. It is quite simply a lovely example. The paintwork is in excellent shape. So nice!!! The engine and transmission are strong and smooth and all electrical components, including the convertible top operate as they should. The convertible top itself is in excellent condition..
