Greetings! What we have for auction today is my 1962 Maserati 151 Le Mans coupe serial number 151007. This is a project car which I know very little about but I was told it was once owned by Nicholas Cage and was displayed at the Amelia Island Concours about 15 years or so ago. This is an aluminum body over steel tubes with three piston front calipers and a Jaguar center section with a CWI IRS unit tacked into place for the rear. That part was never finished as the original Borrani cast aluminum wheels won't clear the lower bearing support. Original this car had a Jag reared with a De Dion tube, which is included with the sale. The engine is a DOHC with 4 2-barrel Webers, and the engine's serial number makes it a Mexico, I believe. The five speed transmission appears to be fully functional. Check out the photos; there is a pic of the car completed, and there are a couple of shots of the red car which was bid to $150K at Mecum's in 2012 but didn't meet the reserve of $200K. If you'd like more photos, just ask. Almost all parts are included to put it back together, but you'll have to fab up a new driveshaft, windshield, wire wheels (because the Borrani's offset is a little off), pedal assembly and exhaust system; headers are included. I heard there were three reproductions of the 151 made around the late '60's; anybody out there know more about this car? Feel free to ask questions. Greetings! What we have for sale today is my 1962 Maserati 151 Le Mans reproduction coupe serial number 151007. With the help of a local Maserati collector, we uncovered the car's original serial number, 101*1402 I believe, making this chassis and serial number a 1961 Maserati 3500 GT Touring. The California title, clear and in my name and hand, lists the car as a 1962 Maserati with a VIN of 151007. In California, the currents titles do not show the model of the car, only the year, VIN and manufacturer. If the new owner prefers I can change the title to reflect the correct year and VIN of either the 151 or the 3500. This is a project car which I know very little about but it was on display (to be sold?) at the Amelia Island Concours and RM Auctions about 15 years or so ago. There is a French story about Norway replicas and about Drago or Drogo Korper building replicas of these cars from the original bucks, three I think, in 1965 or 1964. I believe this is one of the replicas. This is an aluminum body over the 3500 GT Touring chassis with a modified Jaguar center section and a CWI IRS unit tacked into place for the rear. After the inspection is complete, they call me with the results. I then either do the repairs and put the vehicle up for auction, or if the problems are too numerous, and it looks like she's going to be a problem vehicle, I liquidate the vehicle at a local auction. My repairs average about $400.00 per unit. Please understand that we are not in the vehicle restoration business. I don't replace every teeny tiny part that is not brand new. 1966 Jaguar E-Type XKE Series 1 4.2 FHC Great Project, Great Opportunity. Uploaded more pictures. Solid, straight Southern California (pink slip somewhere) and Arizona car. About 30-40 hours left before the bonnet can be fitted. On Rotisserie. Good clean body with bonnet in PPG 271 Primer. $375 a gallon kit. Body's in High Build Yellow Squeegs Primer. Bonnet is complete except for the one fender. Both air scoops are in good condition. Thousands in new parts from SNG and new bonnet sheet metal parts(sugar scoops, bonnet strips, headlight housing, stereo mount etc.) from Monocoque. Chucks sheet metals great! Body's 75% +/- ready. Have a great body guy that can finish at $30 an hour a currently working 8-10 hours a weekend. Originally a green/green car. Black/Red or Black/Black was the plan. Many items powder coated and ready including front suspension, extra rear cage. $1,700 in triple plated chrome work. $2-3K+ in materials. Needs RH fender $600-$1,350(Saia Motor Freight lost it and currently in claims). Chuck at Monocoque had one or they come up on EBay every several months in the $400-$700 range. Carbs and manifold $2,500-$3,200 + linkage. (Please see 417laptoprepair listing for carbs) He knows whats correct and does incredible work. Seat backs $500 (See them here 2-3 times a year) Oil Pan Distributor Quarterlight for ones side Other misc. 417laptoprepair also has several low mile to total rebuild engines available If it's not listed as missing, needs to be bought new from one of the suppliers and bolted on. Look at the cars bringing lots of money and even the glass is replaced (Have the glass, just saying....). If your thinking about restoring every little piece to save money, or time, this isn't the right project for you. If your wanting to spend another 100 hours fitting the bonnet, rear end and the hundreds of hours putting the car together, this may be it. Tach and Speedo are at Mo-Ma in New Mexico. Rest of the gauges need to be sent to him. He was waiting on the gear ratio for the rear end. 4.2 Engine date should be correct date code from 1966 Mark X 4.2 (Jaguar pulled motors off the line for Mark X and E-Type). Its pretty easy to inspect, inventory and $30-60K+/- in upside potential. Vehicles has Clean Arizona Title. There's several autos that have sold in $30-41K range over the last couple months. The majority required hundreds of hours of disassemble and possibly tens of thousands in rust or body repair prior to be in in the same state this current vehicles in. Payment of Balance Due The buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due including applicable fees and taxes within 5 days of the close of online auction/ad unless otherwise agreed to by seller. Payment Methods Preferred method of payment is certified bank check, bank wire transfers or third-party financing. All funds must be in US Dollars only. Cash is acceptable with pre-notification so that large transactions can occur during banking hours. Please be aware that any cash amounts over $10,000.00 will include the completion of IRS form 8300. Most banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles older than 7 years or with more than 100,000 miles. Make sure, then, if financing, that your financial institution accepts the year and miles of the vehicle before bidding. Again, please arrange financing before bidding. If you ‘win’ an auction you herein agree to subject yourselves to these terms and, therefore, if you cannot arrange financing your deposit will be held by Autos of Palm Beach to help cover costs involved in the auction/ad. (Under some circumstances, with prior agreement, the deposit may be applied towards a future purchase of a vehicle from Autos of Palm Beach.) General Terms We reserve the right to cancel all bids and end an auction early at any time should the vehicle no longer be available for sale. Winning bidder must contact us within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements for payment and delivery at that time. Terms of Deposit and Payment of Balance Due outlined herein apply. If we have not received contact within 24 hours of auction end we reserve the right to further advertise the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise. If upon personal and/or authorized professional inspection of the purchased vehicle at our facility, buyer finds a substantial discrepancy between the published report and actual vehicle, we will correct the problem at no charge, work out a compromise, or refund all monies paid. Such items include things like books & manuals, extra keys, remotes, headphones (for entertainment packages), tools, cargo nets, floor mats, CD cartridges, wheel lock keys, etc. Items as these (or others you may think of) are not automatically included or provided by us. With online auctions the final sale price is not known in advance, so please note that the amount of $295.00 will be added to the closing or agreed amount of purchase so that the final price will include the fee and such will be reflected on the Bill of Sale, also called a Purchase Agreement or Buyer’s Order.
