This is a classic luxury automobile, with an average of just 7,512 miles annually. My wife and I are the third owners, and have driven this car with delight for the past six-plus years. No accidents. No pets. No smokers. Lots of luxury gizmos, including heated leather seats, a Bose sound system, and rain-activated windshield wipers. The car is powered by a 3.2-L, V-6 engine, with a 5-speed automatic transmission. We get about 18 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and around 27 mpg on the highway. Remaining tire life is about one-half. The A/C is cold. Only two other cars like this were found for sale within 500 miles of us, one for $5,950, the other for $6,499 - or, an average of $6,225. Estimates to put our car back in tip-top shape and ready for another 100,000 miles include front brake pads ($367), right-front wheel bearing ($316), right-side outer tie rod ($253), and main seal replacement ($760). A few bits of rust can be found at several points on the exterior, with some fading of the clear coat on the rear bumper. (An optional specialty paint job averages $1,316.) The dash has a few small cracks. The headliner appears weathered ($221). A turning point in our decision to sell or keep this car occurred just last week, when the battery/alternator warning light came on as the power steering got stiff – something that various Mercedes forums attribute to a failed ABS wheel sensor ($300). All tolled, we could spend around $3,533 to fully repair and recondition this Mercedes – which is too much for a retired couple to invest in what is now a third-and-spare car. Hence, the decision to let her go. Take the aforementioned $6,225, deduct all $3,533 for refurbishing, and the balance is $2,692. That’s all we’re asking for this classic car, as is. Don't wait to make a best offer, because someone will buy this car at this kind of asking price.

No extra fees! This Mercedes runs and drives excellent! The motor purrs and has plenty of power. The motor stays cool and sounds very strong. The transmission shifts GREAT in all gears. I just put 6 new glow plugs and a fresh new 900 CCA battery in so it fires up excellent in the cold. The brakes stop the car just fine. The heating and air conditioning system works properly. The car has a rest feature that keeps the interior heated for 25 minutes after the car has been turned off using a small coolant pump and keeping the blower motor on low then auto shut off kicks in after 25 minutes. The exhaust is all there minus the tail pipe that came off at some point so there is some heat bowing to the rear bumper from hot days. This one has the power moon-roof in glass that works nice. The car gets great fuel mileage in the mid 30's. It was a non smokers car. The car has some rust spots but is a great driver. The lights, horn, wipers, locks, windows minus the rear drivers side all work. The car has power seats and power adjusting steering wheel that works nice. The cluster sometimes will not indicate speed, tachometer and fuel level but always records miles. It is a glitch that comes and goes. I have put several hundred miles on this car and found it not bothersome. The cruise control still works too. The car is a very nice and comfortable Mercedes to drive especially on the highway.

We purchased approx 20,000 miles ago with a bad transmission. Replaced the transmission with a used one from a rear end totaled donor with 85,000 miles on it. It has been a daily driver for us since the transmission swap. Runs, handles & drives very well. Has general cosmetic defects, interior & exterior that show age and use but is overall nice condition. With any Benz of this age, we are careful to give it a minute to idle down on the first start of the day before throwing it into gear, especially in cold weather, to protect against hard wear on the transmission. We only mention this because we always notice a bumpier shift if we don't give it time to idle down. Impeccable shifting otherwise. Included below is a general list of repairs, upgrades etc as well as including the most significant "issues" based on our experience. PICTURES SHOW CONDITION. 75-80% tread on the Firestone Firehawk GT 205 60R16 tires. These are louder than our last set but ride nice. Fluids were flush & conductor plate was replaced 20,000 miles ago when the transmission was swapped. Axillary fan was just replaced AC recently charged & working Replaced 2 window regulators Rear pneumatic lock actuator was rebuilt Around 8,000 miles left on the most recent 10,000 mile synthetic Mobile1 oil change Tachometer works but intermittently hangs up Headliner has started it's dissent. It isn't flapping but has begun to droop. 1 sunroof vent panel is out, the other is cracked. Have replacements-not installed. Seats show wear & age without any significant or large cracks. No holes. Engine cover has a broken piece that needs to be reattached. Cosmetic issue only! & seen in pictures. Volume button on the radio occasionally sticks & you have to hold your tongue right to get it to respond. Cup holder only stays down in it's hole when the cover is shut over it. Front floor mats are worn out & need velcro-ed to the floor or swapped out. Rear are fine. Overall carpet is super nice without any staining. Seat buttons work. Sunroof does not leak unless you leave it open. ("Duh", you say? We know, but you wouldn't believe...) Had a cheap paint job at some point before we acquired it. Headlights were pulled & refinished for function & cosmetics. Comes with 1 ONE 1! Key. Rear bumper skirt was just replaced Hubcap centers were refinished We also have another 100+ pictures of the car posted for public viewing. The headlight bezels and wheel trim rings were re-chromed. The remaining chrome on the car is all in excellent original condition and we saw no need to mess with the originality. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as any well cared for garaged car should be, and has never been in any accidents. The car is riding on original steel Mercedes wheels and hubcaps. All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in good shape. The interior is all original condition all around. The supple black seats are all in good condition and look very nice, which shows the quality of material used in this car with a few small flaws. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged. The interior wood panels appear to have had some restoration, and some pieces remain original. The steering wheel was just professionally restored, but we couldn't track down an affordable center cap so we retained the original star. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk compartment is very clean and does have the original jack, the spare tire and wheel, and a original trunk mat. The trunk pan is solid and the cardboard inserts are still in nice shape. The car has updated Pioneer CD sound system for cruising in style. Only rear speakers were installed to prevent unsightly holes being cut in the gorgeous original door panels. Mechanically, this 250s runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. The 2.5L is bullet proof and the twin carb setup when tuned correctly makes for a spirited driving experience. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The car recently received a rebuilt transmission, full service, ac compressor, transmission pump, and seals. The car was always regularly serviced and the car was well cared for. Brakes were also gone trough with new pads and a sticking caliper replaced. All in all, this is one of the neat Mercedes. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners.
