1996 UNIMOG 404 with removable safari roll cage. This vehicle was completely restored in 2008 to be used in an off road tour business. The business was located in St John USVI was very profitable but was forced to close due to local politics. The Unimog was only in the USVI for one season then shipped back to Vermont where it is currently inspected, registered and street legal. The 2008 frame off restoration was very thorough. The cab was restored and repainted in late summer of 2014 because the 2008 cab job turned out to be unsatisfactory to our standards. All rusted areas on the cab were cut out with new steel welded in. The vehicle has been driven less than 1000 miles since restoration. The safari roll cage was made by shop that makes racing cages and is very sturdy. The cage and back seat assembly comes off as a unit with the removal of 6 bolts, leaving a new diamond plate flat bed protected with nonskid paint. The safari cage passenger area seats 14 with seat belts.Restoration included:crated rebuilt M180 enginecrated transmission - rebuiltnew clutch setrebuild torque tubesnew brakes and sealsnew exhaustrepainted frame axles etc.This machine looks and drives great. 1977 416 Cabriolet Unimog This low hour (932), low km.(17k) 416 Unimog was just stripped to bare metal and has been resprayed in Viper Red. The chassis, motor, bottom of cab, and the inside got a fresh coat of paint as well. Wheels and bed sides were sandblasted before being repainted, plus the seats were recovered, a new black top installed, some of the weatherstripping replaced, new battery box cover, new bright H4 headlights installed, new portal box output seals and new vent tubes installed, new heater, brake pads replaced, new pressure treated dump bed floor, driver side foot well floor replaced. All fluids just replaced. Has a 5.7L six cyl. diesel motor, 130hp., standard gear axles, (top speed of 60MPH) six speed transmission with side PTO (no shafts), hydraulics, trailer air brakes, Nato trailer hitch, custom bed with sides and back that can swing down or can be completely removed leaving a 120"x80" flatbed. Bed also can be dumped out to the rear. The top can be folded down, or removed completely by removing two bolts. Side windows can be opened as pictured, closed, or removed completely by sliding up, off of the door. The windshield is made to be folded down and secured down over the hood. 1962 Mercedes Benz Unimog 404 in great all round condition. Much loved rig that has had loads of great times in it - been a really great truck to own. You are not likely to have found this by accident I'm guessing most people looking for a unimog know what it is! This is the 6 cylinder 2.2 liter gas engine, the same MB lump that has been used for about 80 years. It is the 6 speed manual with 6 forward gears and 2 reverse it is 4X2, 4X4 and 4X4 locked ranges. In 4X4 locked and the extremely low 1st and 2nd nothing will stop this. It has brand new tires and brakes fitted, recently rebuilt carb and all fluids have been recently changed. All gears work, there are no issues at all with the portal axles, no overheating problems, it really runs well. It is converted to 12V and has no rust in the cab floors which can be an issue, the frame as you can see is rock solid. This mog will cruise all day at either 55mph on the highway or at 5mph in the forests it is that versatile and to top it off it will tow/pull/drag pretty much anything this side of an aircraft carrier! This is a much loved truck with a clean and clear title, a reluctant sale. I'm based in Oregon and can help with shipping arrangements and can possibly deliver for a fee within the NW.
