Super Rare 2003 Mercury Marauder with only 134,288 original miles. Obviously a car of this caliber needs no introduction! Expect to get many onlookers and thumbs up while driving this one. While I must admit this is our first Marauder, after driving this car I can see why so many people love this machine. CALL 740-316-4000 FOR INFO! We acquired this fine car from a bank that we do business with. Unfortunately, its owner was unable to make the payments and is was turned in as a voluntary repossession. The previous owner resided in Florida where this car spent much of its life so it is not all rusted out like many vehicles of this age. This car carries a rebuilt title from it apparently being stolen back in 2012. Due to its age the insurance company deemed it a total loss however the vehicle owner knowing how rare and difficult these cars are to come by, owner retained the car. It has since been inspected by the state and issued a rebuilt title. Overall, this car looks good and runs great down the road. It will run like a scolded dog when you hit the gas and put a smile on your face. I guess this is why so many people flock to these Marauder’s. LOL.. It does looks like it has had a repaint (Birtchwood Silver) and looks decent for its year. There are a few scuffs in the front and rear bumper and a small dent on the driver lower door and quarter panel. The interior is very good shape with no major tears or rips in the leather. The airride works great! All the major power options also appear to function great including the power windows, locks and AC. The factory Mercury shifter button is broke on the handle which just basically means you don’t have to have your foot on the brake to shift it into gears. The heart of this beast is the 4.6 DOHC V8 mated to an automatic transmission. With only 134,367 miles, she has plenty of life left! It will smoke the tires clean off this car if you punch it. (CHECK OUT THE VIDEO). There are no known mechanical issues with this fine car. It will cruise 80mph down the road with ease. This Marauder has been fully inspected and road tested. She runs out great. Today, this 1963 Mercury Marauder is a very rare piece of early muscle, packing a 390 cubic inch V8, an awesome color combination, and a just enough anonymity to stay under the radar in the future. The look is almost familiar and you should probably expect folks to think it's a Galaxie when they first see this hardtop. But upon closer inspection they'll be treated to a very rare car with a lot of unique details that make it stand out. The grille is a little more dressed-up than the Galaxie's plain stamped piece, and the trim that outlines the fenders and quarters gives it an upscale look overall. The paint is gorgeous Black Cherry, which is very close to the car's original code X Heritage Burgundy, and it gives it suitable gravitas for such a heavy hitter. It was refinished a few years ago and is showing a bit of age, but nothing that a professional buff couldn't erase, and with that black padded roof, it has a very formal look that belies the performance underneath. The chrome is a combination of original pieces and restored bits, and we especially like the 'Marauder' script on the front fenders, just enough warning to the guy paying attention in the next lane. The handsome two-tone tan interior is a fantastic contrast to the burgundy paint and really gives it an expensive look inside. The bench seats have obviously been reupholstered but they look quite authentic and the door panels and carpets were replaced at the same time. The headliner and dash might be original, and that will tell you about how nice this car really is, and the dash definitely looks a lot more expensive than the base Galaxie setup, especially with the silver-faced gauges that monitor all the engine's vitals. An under-dash A/C unit seems fitting in the upscale Merc and remains fully functional with good old R12 refrigerant inside. The original AM radio remains in the dash and it, too, works properly along with the wipers and all the gauges. Nice, right? The trunk, of course, is gigantic and carries a correct mat and a full-sized spare tire assembly way up there in the front. The Marauder came with Ford's heavy-hitting 390 cubic inch V8, and even when topped by a 2-barrel carburetor, it's a fantastic performer. There's torque at any speed and the big V8 never notices the A/C cranking away. It's fully rebuilt and beautifully detailed under the hood, with a correct Ford Gold paint job on the big air cleaner and valve covers. Authentic fittings, hoses, and clamps have been used throughout and it runs as well as it looks. The exhaust system is rather throaty, using straight pipes and resonators out back, but the rest of the chassis looks quite stock, from the 3-speed Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission to the 9-inch rear end with 3.00 gears inside. It's nice to see a heavy-hitter like this that hasn't been extensively modified (heck, there's still a 2-barrel on it!), which suggests that it has always been treated like something special. And on a brute like this, dog dish hubcaps, painted wheels, and 235/75/15 blackwall tires give it the ultimate predatory look. Rarer than a Galaxie and just as fast, this Mercury Marauder is the thinking man's alternative and a great piece of FoMoCo muscle car history. K&N cold air intake (see engine picture)(original intake set-up will of course be included with sale) I also replaced the factory head unit with the rare, hard to find, and highly desired OEM Ford Escape Audiophile head unit. Much better factory sound then the original head unit but still retains that factory look. Please note, only the head unit was swapped out. All speakers and sub are still factory.(original OEM head unit will be included with the sale) The satellite radio plug and play set-up is a direct connect with the Audiophile head unit, not a RF radio channel connection. The sound quality is MUCH better that way. Please note that the Sirius S50 itself will not be included with the sale however the universal mounting dash bracket along with the professionally installed wiring hook up will remain. Any standard "plug and play" that utilizes this basic set up like the S50 has should work just fine. I only use Zaino Brothers and Griot's Garage detail products. This 2004 Marauder is in great original condition. A true survivor! It does have a few very minor cosmetic flaws as any used vehicle may have after 10 years. The silver birch exterior color is extremely forgiving with minor blemishes such as these though and all are hardly noticeable. I could only post 24 pictures however I have photos of any and all of these tiny cosmetic blemishes. I would be more than happy to forward any additional pictures to a serious buyer by request. No mechanical issues or needs that I am aware of at all. I would not hesitate to drive cross country with this car as it sits today.
