This MG BGT went through a total mechanical and cosmetic restoration in the mid 90’s and has traveled approximately 18,000 miles since. This GT is finished in British Racing Green Metallic base coat/clear coat paint with an Autumn Leaf interior. It has had some minor upgrades such as Weber carburetor, Cibie headlights, front spoiler, racing seatbelts, chrome headlight mesh covers and racing stripes. It has won a few car shows and I only drive it when the sun is shining. I always keep it in the garage with a car cover on. It has had two previous owners that are friends of my grandparents. This car is in excellent condition and is a super fun car to drive around. I just recently had it tuned-up. It is registered with just under 47,000 original miles. This car has been garaged it's whole life and is only driven when the sun is shining. This car has had two other owners.. older men, that I know personally. It is very reliable. The carburetors have been re-built and a new clutch was just installed I also just put in a new battery. The windshield wiper motor does need to be replaced and the radio is fuzzy but besides that it is a great car to own. I would prefer cash but whatever you can do works. Pick-up would be best. I live in Utah.

Factory Specs and information: The MGB is a sports car launched by MG Cars in May 1962, replacing the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coupewith 2+2 seating was added in 1965. In addition. the six-cylinder MGC was launched in 1967, and a later derivative fitted with the Buick-based Rover V8 replaced it from 1973 to 1976. MGB/MGC production continued until October 1980 by the British Motor Corporation and its successors, British Motor Holdingsand British Leyland Motor Corporation. The bodyshell was reprised in modified form with a limited run of 2,000 MG RV8 roadsters, built between 1993 and 1995. MG began offering the MGB GT V8 in 1973 utilizing the ubiquitous aluminium-block 3528 cc Rover V8 engine, first fitted to the Rover P5B. This engine had been used in the A-body platform Buick Special and Oldsmobile F-85 and was the lightest mass-production V8 in the world. The Buick version had a dry, undressed weight of only 318 lb (144 kg), however by the time Rover had modifications to strengthen the block the engine was considerably heavier (170+kg). Some improvements were made by MG-Rover, and the engine found a long-lived niche in the British motor industry. These cars were similar to those already being produced in significant volume by tuner Ken Costello. MG even contracted Costello to build them a prototype MGB GT V8. However, the powerful 180 bhp (134 kW) engine used by Costello for his conversions was replaced for production by MG with a more modestly tuned version producing only 137 bhp(102 kW) at 5000 rpm. But 193 lb*ft (262 N*m) of torque helped it hit 60 mph (97 km/h) in 7.7 seconds, and go on to a respectable 125 mph (201 km/h) top speed. Fuel consumption was just under 20 mpg. By virtue of its aluminum cylinder block and heads, the Rover V8 engine actually weighed approximately forty pounds less than MG's iron four-cylinder. Unlike the MGC, the V8 that provided the MGB GT V8's increased power and torque did not require significant chassis changes nor sacrifice handling. Both chrome & Rubber-Bumpered GT versions of the V8-powered MGB were produced by the factory. Production ended in 1976. MG never attempted to export the MGB GT V8 to the United States. They chose not to develop a left-hand-drive version of the MGB GT V8, although the Rover V8 engine was offered in US-bound Rover models throughout the same period and beyond. However Abingdon did build seven LHD models and took them to America and achieved certification, being brought back to the UK afterwards then sold to mainland European countries . British Leyland Motor Corporation management cited insufficient production capacity to support anticipated demand for the V8 engine in MGB GT, so they priced the MGB GT V8 high. The MGB GT V8 was very warmly received by the automotive press, but British Leyland Motor Corporation was reportedly concerned that the MGB GT V8 would overshadow their other products, including the more expensive Triumph Stag. 1974 MG MGB GT 1974 1/2 MGBGT with Wire Wheels and Overdrive

1974 ½ MGBGT for sale in a very unusual color – citron. This is a wire wheel, overdrive car. It retains it original interior and the dash is not cracked and the seat fabric is still very good. This, last year of import, BGT comes with the original title and also the original bill of sale. It has all the warranty, “passport” info and the car was dealer serviced up to 60,000 miles. The car now has 78,900 miles. It has been repainted (the original color) at some point. It does not appear to have ever suffered collision damage. Someone has done some very sloppy body work on the doglegs and the bottom of the front fenders. The castle section and inner sill on the drivers side need replaced. The right side has some rust but, I think, the castle and sill can be salvaged. The trunk area is solid. The engine compartment is nice and original color. The engine does run but will require a tuneup,etc. Start up oil pressure is 75psi. All of the gauges and switches are good. It has good wire wheels and great tires. The exhaust system is intact. There were only about 1000 of these cars brought into the USA, before the MGBGT was no longer imported. This is the last year. It still has all the pollution equipment. It comes with the spare wheel and tire, the original jack, the knockoff wrench and original hammer. It also comes with a loose-leaf binder full of documentation. The 1967 is the most desirable of the BGTs, the low back bucket seats and metal dashboard stand out against all the later Bs. This particular car has just finished a restoration by an experienced MG enthusiast who has already restored a number of cars. The car is not concourse, but it is a very, very nice driver that will present as well at the car show as it does going down the road. Speaking of which, this car handles phenomenally well. The transmission and gearbox is in great shape and shifts smoothly and quietly. The engine is fresh; it doesn't smoke, makes good oil pressure and pulls strongly through all four gears.
