1970 MGB GT restoration project. Very solid candidate for restoration or to build a runner. Solid floors all around. Front fenders removed and as you can see from the pics the inner fenders are rock solid! Included in the deal are two new fenders without the side marker light holes for an earlier, prettier look! Light surface rust on new fenders from storage but brand new! Also included are all the parts from a 1971 donor vehicle which had excellent doors and rear hatch, the later of which will be required for the 1970. So you have an entire second cars worth of parts which is very handy for any vintage vehicle owner! The only thing missing was both engines. I have a head, carbs, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds but the rest of the engines were gone when I bought them. MGB engines are easy to find, so shouldn't be a problem.Both cars were drivers until about 6 or 7 years ago, I think. I bought them as a resto project but house project forces sale. The title is clean, non op with no back registration due! In new parts I have front end rebuild and brakes ( Poly bushings, brake rotors, seal kits.) that cost $450 new from Moss. The fenders I bought for $550 for the pair. The seats from the 1971 are in very good condition and could be bolted into any MGB and used as is. The usual like carpet, door panels, etc need replacing, as you would anyway with a resto, but I do have the original vinyl flooring in good condition. All the exterior trim pieces are there as are the bumpers which are usable but could be re-chromed. The bonnet is aluminum and in good condition! The only repair needed is to weld the latch mechanism area back in place ( I have the piece which someone cut out for some reason? Maybe to make a lift off style hood). Also, sorry but I do NOT have any individual parts for sale. It's a package deal. The donor car body is gone also. Thank you. Asking $1500 o.b.o. for everything including $1000 in new parts alone. 1979 MG MGB Roadster See Video: Up for sale is a beautiful 1979 MG MGB Roadster with original milage of 44,130. This was a Mecum Auction car! This Car drives exceptionally well, you can take it to the car shows & for weekend cruises. Definitely gets a lot of attention & questions at the cars and coffee. The MG is powered by it’s 1.8 Liter engine, It moves pretty quick! It has a 4 speed manual transmission. Engine Bay is well detailed. Has a nice exhaust that sounds really nice. See the video. This is an original car meticulously kept by its previous owner. Previous owner had put the early MG-B appearance with original MG-B Chrome Bumpers, and a new top was put on. The Body is straight as an arrow. All doors, trunk, hood are all aligned like they should. It has always been garage kept and well taken care. All the exterior chromes are in great shape. The red paint is still high quality and has a nice mirror finish to it. The Interior is splendid and contrast well to the exterior red paint, black upholstery has been fitted, and tastefully done, and overall condition looks super nice. No tears on the seats. All the glass and chrome trim are very nice. Top folds up and down with no issues. Woodgrain shift knob. I’m located in Miami about 30 minutes away from the airport. 1974 ½ MGBGT for sale in a very unusual color – citron. This is a wire wheel, overdrive car. It retains it original interior and the dash is not cracked and the seat fabric is still very good. This, last year of import, BGT comes with the original title and also the original bill of sale. It has all the warranty, “passport” info and the car was dealer serviced up to 60,000 miles. The car now has 78,900 miles. It has been repainted (the original color) at some point. It does not appear to have ever suffered collision damage. Someone has done some very sloppy body work on the doglegs and the bottom of the front fenders. The castle section and inner sill on the drivers side need replaced. The right side has some rust but, I think, the castle and sill can be salvaged. The trunk area is solid. The engine compartment is nice and original color. The engine does run but will require a tuneup,etc. Start up oil pressure is 75psi. All of the gauges and switches are good. It has good wire wheels and great tires. The exhaust system is intact. There were only about 1000 of these cars brought into the USA, before the MGBGT was no longer imported. This is the last year. It still has all the pollution equipment. It comes with the spare wheel and tire, the original jack, the knockoff wrench and original hammer. It also comes with a loose-leaf binder full of documentation. The MG is powered by it’s 1.8 Liter engine, It moves pretty quick! It has a 4 speed manual transmission. Engine Bay is well detailed. Has a nice exhaust that sounds really nice. See the video. This is an original car meticulously kept by its previous owner. Previous owner had put the early MG-B appearance with original MG-B Chrome Bumpers, and a new top was put on. The Body is straight as an arrow. All doors, trunk, hood are all aligned like they should. It has always been garage kept and well taken care. All the exterior chromes are in great shape. The red paint is still high quality and has a nice mirror finish to it. The Interior is splendid and contrast well to the exterior red paint, black upholstery has been fitted, and tastefully done, and overall condition looks super nice. No tears on the seats. All the glass and chrome trim are very nice. Top folds up and down with no issues. Woodgrain shift knob. I’m located in Miami about 30 minutes away from the airport. You’ll Search Long and Hard to Find a Car Like This at Any Price... Let Alone at HALF of Its Restoration Investment. Today we are offering one lucky person the opportunity to own a coveted 1965 MGB roadster that has been restored over the course of 25+ years to virtually concourse condition. The car has had quite a life. We’ll endeavor to help you understand its whole history: This is a 2-owner vehicle and both owners were long-time friends of one another. The first owner bought the car new in England back in 1965 and drove it there for a year or two while in college. Then he had it shipped to the U.S. Savvy MGB aficionados will see telltale remnants of its beginnings in Europe like the color of the original taillights which differ from their American export counterparts. The original owner didn’t put all that many miles on the car but it did deteriorate rather significantly due to the fact that it was kept and used at an east coast beach house. The salt air, sand and rough roads really took their toll on the car and the owner did little to prolong its life. Eventually it got so bad that the owner stopped driving it and relegated it to long term (sometimes outdoor) storage. The second (and current) owner knew the car and its story well and eventually talked his buddy into selling it to him back in the early 90’s. By then it was a fixer-upper and so he bought it for a song. The next 25+ years involved a true labor of love and investment of over $45,000 documented dollars of expense; not to mention all of the personal time he put in and the cost of storage, taxes, etc. The owner, John, (no doubt you’ll eventually meet him if you have serious interest) committed to doing a ground-up restoration that included complete dis-assembly and either restoration or replacement of every single part of both the body and engine. He remained true to his main objectives throughout the project which included the greatest possible level of authenticity and originality that he could achieve while winding up with a car that could be driven and enjoyed rather than simply being stored and shown off. To that end, he repaired and restored every original part he could save, searched the planet for new-old-stock replacement parts whenever possible, and only used reproduction parts when totally unavoidable – and even then he only chose the best. He also used only professional restorers, mechanics, and machinists to do his work. You’ll find no signs of backyard mechanic’s work here. The end result is a car that both aesthetically and mechanically is just a few scant points away from original factory perfection. Of course, since the restoration took so long, you should expect to find little signs where, despite always being garage-kept, some slight effects of aging are findable here and there, but no doubt you’ll agree… that’s just what happens to vintage English cars no matter what you do. Spots we noticed include a scuff on the driver side dash that doesn’t seem to accept polishing, some light superficial rust on the unpainted metal edges of the window guides that occurs from condensation forming on the glass and then later dripping down, and some micro-pitting and other deterioration on a few spots of the exterior chrome. The radiator, which is original, looks discolored and has some verdigris patina on it. It works great but the cooling system pros warned against repainting it because it can reduce the effectiveness of the fins. Thus, it stands out as looking unrestored. If it bothers you, you can buy a new reproduction, but of course that too will discolor as you drive the car. With regard to originality, expect everything to be as it originally was built with the exception of the transmission which was replaced with an overdrive type, and of course there is an added overdrive unit on the firewall and switch on the dash which could have come with the car but didn’t. If you want to have the original transmission back you are welcome to have it and it works fine so far as we know, but it sure is nice to have the overdrive. The radio works but has no antenna so it doesn’t tune any channels. The owner being deaf, he didn’t make this a high priority and in fact mounted the outside mirror in the original antenna hole. Some gasketing is not as it was originally but now works better as these cars were very prone to leaking as this one still does here and there under certain weather conditions (read on). It’s much easier to tell you what’s wrong with the car since most of it is so perfect so here’s the short list of know shortcomings that haven’t been mentioned yet. The paint job looks beautiful to us but we are not paint finish experts. Apparently (based on the comments of a self-proclaimed paint finish expert), super picky paint collectors might feel that the body should have been 100% stripped before repainting. This was not done. While some areas were fully stripped, other parts just got sanded down and feathered out in certain areas where the paint shop felt it was OK not to fully remove the original paint. We honestly can’t see evidence of this to our (pretty darned scrutinous) eyes but if you’re a paint fanatic, you should come and inspect it for yourself to feel confident in the level of finish quality. If you’re just a normal car lover like we are, believe us… you’ll be more than thrilled with the look of the paint. This was clearly no Macco paint-job. The new custom-made top, though purchased at great expense and installed professionally, doesn’t lay flat around the rear corners. We’re not sure if it can be stretched and is sold as-is in that way. No leaking problems but a little annoying to look at when the top is up (see photos). The trunk tends to leak a bit under certain blowing rain. New factory original gaskets are in place but likely some additional non-original gasketing would solve this easily. There’s also a little tricky leak around the grill on the hood in front of the windshield when it rains. We haven’t figured out the source of that yet. The driver door gets hard to close in very cold temperatures and then works fine again once the heat runs for a while. There are likely other little annoyances that we’ve overlooked so please view the photos very carefully of plan to come and inspect the car for yourself if those kind of things might be deal breakers for you. We’re doing our best to point out everything we know but this is a 50 year old car after all, and despite whatever efforts we can make to look it over thoroughly, no doubt we’ll overlook something. The car comes complete with many extras including extra rims, a never used custom cover and many extra parts. Of course it has its original manual, jack, tools, keys and other such items. More importantly, it comes with a fully detailed biography covering every aspect of the restoration, along with many hundreds of receipts, brochures for parts, and photos documenting the complete transformation of this vehicle. We have not mentioned how it drives yet but something had to come last. You’ll find that the motor runs like new as it essentially is, having only a handful of miles on it since the total rebuild. If you’re a 60’s era MG lover then you know how they sound (kind of a brab-brab-brab sound) and how they start in the cold (begrudgingly), and how they can sometimes be finicky. This motor will be exactly as you’d expect for better and worse. Folks expecting it to run and sound like a brand new BMW will no doubt be disappointed. Folks who already drive old Jags or Triumphs, or MG’s will be thrilled. All fluids and wear items like wipers, brake pads, tires, battery etc., are either brand new or virtually new (the spare tire is original to the car but was never used). Thus you can expect it to handle, brake and otherwise drive as a MGB should. All lights, wipers, heat and defroster work as originally intended. Again, if you’re expecting the comfort and feel of a new BMW then you’ll hate driving this car. If you’re expecting to re-live the experience of a 1960’s roadster then you’ll be in 7th heaven. If you think this beauty might be for you, we recommend coming to take a look at it for yourself if at all possible. Today, as always, this car is all about affordable fun in the sun and the look makes this one stand out in a crowd. The biggest modification, and the one that you'll appreciate most, is the removal of those clunky federally-mandated rubber bumpers, which marred the otherwise sleek MGB in the mid-70s. Shaving them off completely gives this MGB a sleek, purposeful look that's entirely in line with its sporting intentions. Adding a chrome grille up front makes it look like the original designers intended and with a pair of big rally lights up front and a roll pan in back, the car looks quite finished, as if the factory built it that way. The silver paint was done a while ago and isn't show quality, but for a car that's destined to be driven with gusto on twisting country roads, nobody will notice or care. The important stuff like the rockers and doors are in good condition and the overall unusual look will win this B a lot of fans along the way. Traditional styling elements like the chrome-ringed side marker lights, big taillights, and exposed rear gas filler remain in place, keeping this car firmly tied to its British heritage. When you think "British sports car," this 2-seat interior is what should pop into your mind. Twin buckets flanking a console, rugged seat covers that are cleverly textured to keep them cool, and big, simple gauges were all hallmarks of MG in the 1970s. The wood-rimmed steering wheel adds some very welcome warmth to the interior yet maintains a traditional sports car look with its aluminum spokes, and the fatter rim makes it easy to grab with your string-back driving gloves (you do own a pair of those, right?). The gauges are in good order, the seat covers are excellent, and it appears to have recent carpets. The car's most desirable feature, a factory overdrive, is actuated by a big red switch on the dash, rally style, and it not only transforms the MGB into a decent long-distance cruiser, but it makes you feel like you're at the wheel of a far more expensive machine. There's a decent-fitting black convertible top that fits behind the seats, and the trunk is nicely carpeted and includes a full-sized spare. The 1798cc inline-four won't win any drag races, but the joy of an MG is not all-out speed but rather how the machine goes about its business. The gutsy engine loves to rev and makes a great baritone howl from the exhaust pipe out back, so you'll relish each gear shift. You can drive this car at 9/10ths and really have a ball without endangering the countryside, and it works exceptionally well. The nicely detailed engine has a few bright red accents, an aftermarket exhaust header, and enough power to feel lively at any speed. The 4-speed manual shifts easily and you'll love running it through the gears, and with the aforementioned overdrive, it's pretty relaxed on the highway, too. The suspension is a good combination of supple and competent and with the lightweight bodywork, the brakes are impressive. Factory wheels look right and carry 175/70/14 Falken radials all around.
