1954 MG TF California The eBay listing you are viewing is an 1954 MG TF. This is a very unusual opportunity because this TF has Documented Records going back to the 1950s and the car has a Numbers Matching Engine and Transmission and for numerous other specific reasons which I will discuss below: It is an unrestored 1954 Black Plate California Car (Note: All new 1954 California cars were issued a 1951 plate with the rear plate only updated with a "54" metal corner tab issued by the State of California) with its Original Tool Kit and Jack, Original Dealer's Brochure and Owner's Manual, and Clean and Clear California Title. Running and Driving and Always Starting on First Turn of the Starter. Over 3,400 pictures provided and 7 YouTube videos below. The car has original Lucas Star Headlamps which are virtually impossible to find, its actual original mounted spare tire and a genuine MG Mitten fitted cotton car cover, also included is the original valve cover in addition to the currently mounted aluminum wing nut cover, and original side curtains. The interior is the finest quality hyde English leather and supple and comfortable, having always been stored in indoor temperature and humidity controlled environment. Original adjustable steering wheel and all gauges function. People wait and search and sift 30 years or a lifetime to find an MG TF with these qualities. We have 100% positive feedback going back to our establishment on eBay 16 years ago in 1999. We offer complimentary on-hand concierge assistance and transport coordination available to any nation in the world, including buying and pickup/delivery of additional goods to include in your overseas transport container. You can reach us during normal U.S. hours at +1-561-two-two-three-nine-seven-six-seven and if no one answers please leave a voice message or send a message through eBay Messaging. There is currently not one other MG TF -- and has been no other available for a number of years -- of this caliber for sale in the United States. This is a Concours justified car. Priced here under the top end of the valuation scales that the world's top collectors use, at a Barrett auction this car would exceed a 125k bid. This is the opportunity to buy the right car, which you can confirm by asking any expert on these cars. Previews and inspections are available upon request. Payment by bank wire transfer or cash in-person is due within 7 days of agreed purchase price, and $500 deposit due within 24 hours. For sale only due to family estate liquidation. You may submit your offer or purchase today, available for immediate delivery after funds clearance to the Port of Miami. The following photograph album contains more the 3,400 pictures to satisfy the most discerning connoisseur, in addition to the standard 24 eBay hosted photographs below. The following video is 1 minute and 20 seconds long, and demonstrates a 360-degree walk around the car while idling warm. The following 3-minute video demonstrates the car on the roadway after having idled for 3 minutes. The following 2 minute and 30 second video demonstrates a test drive of the car idling after not having been started in a month. The following 31-second video demonstrates a very nice extremely slow idle -- about 90 RPM, compared to a normally 850 RPM idle -- before tapping on gas pedal after after just started for the first time in 2 months, started with nothing more than a single pull of the starter on the first try. The following 28-second video demonstrates an alternate camera view of the very nice extremely slow idle -- again, about 90 RPM compared to a normally 850 RPM idle -- just an absolutely impeccable sound note. The following 31-second video demonstrates an alternate camera view of the very nice extremely slow idle -- again, about 90 RPM compared to a normally 850 RPM idle -- a beautiful sound note example of the exhaust while cold: The final video today is 2 minutes and 30 seconds allowing for warm drivetrain on road demonstration of this just phenomenal iteration of the 1954 MG TF; it is simply an extraordinary feeling to drive this particular example, like no other MG TF I have ever driven because of its Provenance and Originality. A few other pieces of knowledge to help inform your decision on this once in a lifetime opportunity. The undercarriage of the car is excellent condition and in such clean condition it appears new-like in some respects. The original wheel knock off hammer that actually came withe car is included. It is not a reproduction. The tool kit includes various original Whitworth wrenches, the original jack and handles, all that accompanied this actual car when new. As mentioned, the spare tire is the actual original bias-ply spare that came with car, as in the actual tire. There are various club badges included from the 1960s and 1970s. The exhaust system is all new-ish and in excellent shape as pictured. The tires currently mounted on the car are bias ply tires from the early 1970s, making the tires currently mounted 40+ years old. An un-used new old-stock set of matching appropriately sized vintage style Dunlop radial tires will be included with the sale. Good luck in the submission of your competitive offers. You can reach us during normal U.S. hours at +1-561-two-two-three-nine-seven-six-seven, and if there is a no answer please leave a voice message, or send a message through the written eBay Messaging System.

1955 MG TF-1500 I think the MG TF 1500 is the most beautiful MG ever made and I sincerely believe my "TF-1500" is the most beautiful of them all! If you don't think so, please take another look at the photographs. Although not in her original color (almond green) in her MG Red paintwork she looks absolutely fabulous looking quite like the Jaguar SS-100 which can now fetch between $300,000 and $500,000. Not only is my car gorgeous looking, it is NUMBERS MATCHING as confirmed by British Motor Industries Heritage Trust certificate number 2014/1581 (please see photo). The MG TF’s were manufactured between July 13th, 1954 and April 4th, 1955 with Body Numbers TF-6501 – TF-10100, a 14 month production run of 3,600 cars. It’s pretty obvious when looking at my Car, that a Very Extensive Restoration has been carried out as evidenced by the Car's really good condition and which the photos ably confirm. The indicated mileage is 1,927 which I believe to be the mileage covered since the restoration. While I have no real reason to disbelieve it, I can't substantiate it either. As mentioned, the car’s original color was Almond Green with a Green Interior. A previous owner had the sense to change it to MG Red and the paintwork is in exceptional condition save for the very few stone chips, etc., that unavoidably come with use. The interior was also changed to Factory Matching, Red Leather with White Piping which also shows beautifully and is also in excellent condition. The TF came into being when sales of the TD slumped with the introduction of the faster, more modern-looking and similarly priced Triumph TR2. Morris Garages, makers of MG cars, merged with the Nuffield Organization to form the British Motor Corporation (B.M.C.). Considerable funding had just gone into the newly introduced Austin-Healey and, although designs for the MG-A existed, there was a shortage of liquid capital with which to put it into production. As a cost-efficient alternative, in 1953, the TF was introduced. Among the many changes; it had a sleeker Nose and a more graceful Tail. The Radiator was sloped back and the Hood-line inclined downwards to meet it. The Headlights were partially faired-in and the front Fender profile was modified. At the rear, the exposed Fuel Tank and Spare Wheel Carrier were made more rakish with the rear Fenders sporting a shapelier flare to match. Overall, the TF was 3.5 inches longer, an inch wider and half an inch lower. Individual, adjustable Seats replaced the previous Bench Seat and there was a new, centrally located Instrument Panel featuring the now famous and handsome, MG Octagonal Gauges. It was initially well received but times had moved on. Production ceased in mid 1955 with B.M.C. needing to devote its time and energy to the initial production of the MG-A. Only 3,400 TF-1500's were manufactured with the majority coming to America, to Canada and into Europe. Now about my car:- Per the B.M.I.H.T. certificate, she was built between the 8th to the 12th of October, 1954. She had then, as now, Car/Chassis (V.I.N.) Number HDE43/7418, Engine Number XPEGTF1274, Body Number TF18013 and the factory optional, chromed wire wheels. It was shipped from the factory to the U.S. on October 13th, 1954 Although she is a remarkable 60+ years old, she is in great, restored condition. During her history, many parts were chrome-plated that weren’t so plated by the factory. You’ll find these plated parts in all sorts of places including the Gas Tank sides and, believe it or not, all the Brake Drums and even the Prop Shaft, etc., etc., and especially under the hood. So if you're looking for a car that you can confidently drive to and successfully enter in your local car shows, she is it! Please remember, she should not be a "Trailer Queen" as she wants to be driven. Completely Rust-Free with the Undercarriage in excellent condition including all the recent, visible Wooden Components. Although she has obviously been repainted during her 60 year life; the Paintwork has only the minor scars of being driven and there are no dents. The original Chrome-plated Parts and the Manufacturer's Badges, etc., are original and in excellent condition. The Clock doesn't work (they never do!) and the Horns both work. She has the very minor fluid leaks that just go with the era. I actually think I solved a problem by tightening the Oil Filter Housing, another seems to be the Gearbox Oil Discharge Plug. But, you know what they say about the British sports car, "if it doesn't leak, it's because there's no oil in it"! The Engine starts instantaneously from cold with minor and short-lived use of the Choke and runs smoothly, idling at around 800 rpm and enthusiastically awaiting your use. She accelerates willingly with that gorgeous sound from the new Stainless Steel Exhaust with a Polished Muffler. She changes smoothly through all the Gears. First and Reverse are the typically noisy, Moss, straight-cut, non-synchromesh gears. There is virtually no play in the Steering but please remember that the driving position is the older "you can almost hit the horn button with your chest" style. The Steering is quite heavy at slower speeds compared with modern day cars as, in those days, there was no power assistance. The "Emergency" Brake works as it should and the car's Brakes are also good but do require more pressure than one is used to with modern cars (again, no power assistance). Similarly, comparatively heavy, the Clutch can give you wheel spin at the start in First Gear if you wish - proof that the Clutch is good. All the Gauges, Switches and Lights have been checked and/or repaired/replaced and work as they should except the Clock, as mentioned. She has been comprehensively serviced including:- All Fluid levels checked. The Radiator back-flushed and refilled with water. If you live where winters are a problem, please refill with Anti-Freeze. Fuel System checked. Carburetors checked. Air Cleaners cleaned. New Points, Distributor Cap, Condenser and Plugs fitted. Generator and Voltage Regulator checked. Other items of interest:- Chrome Wire Wheels and Brake Drums. Plenty of Chrome-Plated parts under the Hood, Fenders and at the rear. Four new Tires and a spare. A new, full, Tonneau Cover still in the supplier’s box un-opened. New, twin, vintage, lap-type, Safety Belts. New Lucas PL700 headlights similar to those fitted to Rolls Royce and other British super luxury cars of the era. Working Lucas SLD/SPF576 Spot/Fog Lights of the era and a wired/switched/working Reversing Light have been fitted. A brand new Badge Bar with brand new B.R.S.C.C., B.A.R.C. and MG Abingdon Badges. New Twin, fender-mounted Wing Mirrors and twin, new and of the era, vintage Windscreen Wind Wings etched with “1955 MG TF 1500” New battery cut-off switch for security. She has the original Crank Handle (properly secured behind seats); twin Hood Stays (unusual); an MG Jack with Crank; an of-the-era, working, Hand Air Pump and the correct, Thor, Brass-headed Hammer for the Chromed, Wire Wheel, Knock-on Hubs. On the Passenger-side, Interior Valance a genuine antique, of-the-era, Polished Brass "Presto" mini Fire Extinguisher has been fitted in the original bracket. As the retardant is now illegal, the contents have been evacuated, so the Extinguisher is for decorative purposes only. There is a full MG Toolkit in a new Embroidered-Logo Toolroll. The Hood or Top is White and in good condition as is the rear, transparent window and the Hood's Frame-work. All four, White Side Screens, including the transparent vinyl, are in good condition. However, you surely don’t intend to take her out in the rain so I suggest you wrap them securely and put them in the attic where they belong. She also comes with a new Workshop Manual, an old-style but new Driver's Handbook (i.e. comprehensive) and Driver's Routine Service Manual and several publications which will interest you. A physical inspection by you and/or your agent is cordially invited but by appointment please. I am asking $38,950 but I'll certainly look at your reasonable offer. Typically of classic cars, she is offered on the basis of "AS IS, WHERE IS" and in strict and sole accordance with the terms of a mutually agreed, written SALE/PURCHASE AGREEMENT and a formal BILL OF SALE. My Florida title for the car is clean and unencumbered. You'll probably have some questions so please don't hesitate to contact me - or maybe you just want to "car-chat"? My car is being advertised locally and this listing can be withdrawn at any time without prior notice. The TF, unveiled in late 1953, represented a major evolutionary step for MG with its repositioned headlamps, new bonnet design, sloping hood line and raked radiator. TF 1500 has proven to be the most desirable of the T-Series cars as it marked the end of the series with more power and better handling. MG aficionados hold the model in very high regard, as they believe it represents the final evolution of MG's iconic and classic design. Outfitted in the ideal British livery of BRG over Tan leather upholstery, this particular MG TF benefits from a nicely mellowed older restoration. Today, it makes for an excellent driver or touring contender. The car shows evidence of much care and attention to detail and although the cosmetics have slightly aged it still remains a very attractive example. This example is striking in its attire, complete with tan weather gear including folding top, a full set of side curtains, boot cover and luggage rack. Its correct "matching numbers" XPEG 1500cc engine performs very well. The undercarriage has been thoroughly detailed and shows the quality of its previous restoration. Ideal for all around fun and enjoyment, this TF1500 represents one of the most desired post-war MGs and truly embodies the essence of British motoring at a fraction of the cost of its counterparts. $39,500.00 Offers Welcomed Full Resolution Photos: 1955 MG TF1500 To learn more about this vehicle, please contact our sales department at (281) 497-1000 or [email protected] SELLING YOUR CAR? 1955 MG TF-1500 I think the MG TF 1500 is the most beautiful MG ever made and I sincerely believe my "TF-1500" is the best of the best and most beautiful of them all! If you don't think so, please take another look at the photographs. I see that other cars (dealers?) are much more expensive than mine (see price comps below) but I'll put my car next to theirs any day of the week. Although not in her original color, in her MG Red paintwork she looks absolutely fabulous. This paintwork must have involved taking the "Body Off" completely as both under the Car, under the Dashboard and under the Hood are the same MG red. My Car also has "NUMBERS MATCHING" as confirmed by British Motor Industries Heritage Trust Certificate number 2014/1581 (please see photo). The car’s original color was Almond Green with a Green Interior. A previous owner had the sense to change it to MG Red and the paintwork is in exceptional condition save for the very few stone chips, etc., (there are no dents) that unavoidably come with use. Now about my Car:- Per the B.M.I.H.T. certificate, she was built between the 8th and the 12th of October, 1954. Completely Rust-Free with the Undercarriage in excellent condition including all the recent, visible Wooden Components. Although she has been repainted during her 60 year life; the Paintwork has very few, very minor scars of being driven and there are no dents. The original Chrome-plated Parts and the Manufacturer's Badges, etc., are original and in excellent condition. The Clock doesn't work (they never do!) and the Horns and lights work. She has the very minor fluid leaks that just go with the era. I actually think I solved one by tightening the Oil Filter Housing. But, you know what they say about the British classic sports car, "if it doesn't leak, it's because there's no oil in it"! The Engine starts instantaneously from cold with short-lived use of the Choke and runs smoothly, idling at around 800 rpm and enthusiastically awaiting your use. The Gauges, Switches and Lights have been checked and/or repaired/replaced and work as they should. Other items of interest:- Chrome Wire Wheels and all 4 Brake Drums. Plenty of Chrome-Plated parts under the Hood, Fenders and at the rear. Four new Tires and a spare. A new, full, black, Tonneau Cover still in the supplier’s box un-opened. I also have an un-used white one if you'd prefer that? Twin, vintage, lap-type, Safety Belts. New Lucas PL700 headlights similar to those fitted to Rolls Royce and other British super luxury cars of the era have been fitted. Working Lucas SLD/SPF576 Spot/Fog Lights of the era and a wired/switched/working Reversing Light have been fitted. A brand new Badge Bar with brand new B.R.S.C.C., B.A.R.C. and MG Abingdon Badges. New Twin, fender-mounted Wing Mirrors and new, twin and of the era, vintage Windscreen Wind Wings etched with “1955 MG TF 1500” have been fitted. New battery cut-off switch fitted for security. So, how does my car and price compare with other cars advertised recently and believed to be in similar condition? 0 0 1 609 3474 Goodman Reed Corporation 28 8 4075 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Offered for sale is our striking 1955 MG TF 1500 with its original, numbers matching engine and transmission and finished in gorgeous Dark Green over a Biscuit leather interior with a tan canvas soft top. Always a California car that spent a vast majority of its life in the arid climate of the Central Valley, the car was used as a weekend driver/survivor between the 1970s and 2007. At that point it received a cosmetic refurbishing and mechanical sorting, and from that point forward it has been used sparingly on pleasant days, always garage-kept and maintained and never subjected to the elements. The result of this refurbishing and subsequent careful use is a wonderful turn-key example, needing nothing to be enjoyed. As the pictures show, the dark green finish is entirely consistent without any significant imperfections or evidence of rust. The chrome trim is all in excellent condition, as is the welting between the body panels, and the steel wheels are in great shape and wrapped in Dunlop radial tires with plenty of remaining tread. The car’s interior was completely reupholstered in beautifully offsetting Biscuit leather and remains in excellent condition, the leather seats and interior panels appearing virtually as new, the carpets entirely presentable and the dash clean and correct, housing the original octagonal Jaeger gauges, indisputably some of the most aesthetically appealing gauges produced in the era. Lastly, the car’s frame and undercarriage are solid and correct with no structural rust or corrosion to speak of, a testament to the car’s dry California existence. Believed to have amassed only 64k miles in its 60 years of service, the original numbers matching XPEG 1500 engine is strong and sound, firing up easily, idling consistently and pulling strongly through each of the original 4-speed transmission’s gears. Despite its sparing use, the car was always maintained as needed and it runs and drives beautifully. There seems to be no propensity for overheating, the ride quality is visceral and sporty (as it should be), and after having thoroughly enjoyed a few dozen miles up and down the Santa Barbara coastline, we’d not hesitate to take this lovely driver out on an extended tour. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a timelessly beautiful, very original MG TF 1500 finished in what is undoubtedly one of the very best liveries. An example that’s in turn-key condition, its been well-loved by its previous California owners and will undoubtedly provide its next with decades of trusty, grin-inducing service. We want this car to go to great home and would be happy to answer any questions, so please feel free to email us or call us at 805-202-4557. You can also visit us online at GoodmanReed. Goodman Reed Motorcars We’ve always had an appreciation for classic European cars and over the years have created an eclectic rotating collection. We only buy cars that we’d personally be interested in owning and generally only sell them to make room for other acquisitions. That time has come for this TF 1500 (if the price is right, of course – this isn’t a fire sale). We try to give accurate descriptions of the cars we’re selling, but we’re enthusiasts, not experts, and we encourage and are happy to help facilitate personal or professional inspections. But please do so before bidding, as the alternative harms our ability to make sales to other interested parties who have done their proper due diligence before bidding. For U.S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction’s end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction’s end. Foreign buyers must pay in full within 7 business days of the auction’s end. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however we’d be more that happy to help with recommendations and arrangements. The car is listed locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell prior to auction’s end. Thanks for your interest.

Wheelbase: 94 Following World War II, the first British sports car to capture American hearts was the MG TC. Its success inspired the MG TD, which appeared in 1949 and was built specifically for the U.S. market, with improved handling characteristics and left-hand-drive. The TF, unveiled in late 1953, was criticized by MG purists for its repositioned headlamps, new bonnet design, sloping hood line and raked radiator. However, many more welcomed the new TF, which sold nearly 10,000 units during its two-year production run. When introduced, the MG TF was powered by the same XPAG 1,250 cc engine that had driven the TD. While the engines output increased by a mere three horsepower, the new TF was nearly five seconds quicker in the zero to 60 mile per hour dash than the previous model. Despite its slightly dated design, the American press welcomed the MG TF. In its December 1954 edition, Road & Track stated, After last year’s test we asked if the TF was really that good. It is, and more. Even though the MG is the lowest priced sports car on the market, it is the accepted standard of comparison. Today, the MG TF has proven to be the most desirable of the T-Series carson the market, and it is considered by many enthusiasts to be one of the most attractive MGs ever made. The 1954 MG TF Roadster presented here is a beautifully fully restored example, which displays a smooth and glossy yellow finish. Toneau cover, leather covered steering wheel, really complement the flowing lines of this handsome automobile. As well, the TF rides on a set of chromed wire wheels with chrome hubcaps, and new tires. The inviting cockpit is trimmed in black leather upholstery with black carpeting, and features a beautifully refinished dash and steering wheel. Under the bonnet, the four-cylinder XPAG engine is well-detailed and period-correct in presentation, with the exception of a modern maintenance-free battery. This handsome 1954 MG TF Roadster truly embodies the essence of MG. It will certainly provide its next enthusiastic owner with an enjoyable break from the mundane with a solid dose of pure, elemental motoring enjoyment If you have any question please feel free to email or call us at 1-619-515-2220, David can be reached at 1-619-451-2130 anytime day or night. The first generation TA introduced hydraulic brakes, better suspension tuning, a reliable and responsive pushrod 4-cylinder engine and a 4-speed gearbox borrowed from the Morris 10. After the war, production resumed and so did the evolution of the T series. Each successive model of which was imported in large numbers to an American market with an appetite for European-style sports cars. The TF sweeping bodywork, optional wire wheels and an inline-4 rated at 63 HP. Like its predecessors, the TF offered responsive road manners and superior handling, perfect for the club racing that became so popular after the war. This 1954 MG TF roadster hails from a private collection in the Southwest and represents one of the most sought after models of the MG brand. It features stunning red paint with a lovely black interior and matching top, all nicely accented with chromed wire wheels. The interior is classic MG: octagonal Jaeger instruments, folding windshield, an original steering wheel, bucket seats and front-opening "suicide" doors. Buying through a licensed dealer gives you as a consumer certain rights, and ensures your protection from title fraud and other problems encountered in private party automotive transactions. In addition, you may also qualify for lower interest rates by purchasing through a dealership. We reserve the right to sell this vehicle locally prior to the end of any advertisement or listing. We also reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. - Cars are demonstrated and/or test-driven on a daily basis and therefore may have more mileage upon delivery than indicated in original listings. - All transactions are subject to a Document/Preparation fee of $245. All state taxes and motor vehicle-related fees are administered by each state individually, are not included in the price of the vehicle, and are non-negotiable. - Most vehicle titles are not held on the premises and it may take up to 30 days to receive one. - Due to the fact that we often have multiple prospective buyers for the same vehicle, we will not "hold" a vehicle without a signed non-refundable deposit, a signed purchase order, and a signed General Information and Terms of Sale form. Without this deposit, all vehicles will remain advertised, listed, and available for sale. - Although we make every attempt to deliver our vehicles with a full set of keys, key fobs, books, floor mats, manuals, etc., we cannot guarantee that a pre-owned vehicle will have all of these items. Most of them can be ordered at a minimum cost in addition to the price of the vehicle, if you desire to do so. The substantial reduction in price between new and pre-owned vehicles reflects in part the chance that these items might be missing. At Close of Auction The successful "winning" bidder must telephone us within 24 hours after the auction has ended to verify purchase and make arrangements to complete the transaction. Full payment must be received within 7 business days of the end of auction. Payment must be either by cashiers-check, or certified funds. I think the MG TF is the most beautiful MG ever made! If you don't think so, please take another look at the photographs of my car. Not only is my car gorgeous looking, it is NUMBERS MATCHING as evidenced by Certificate No. 2014/34180 from the British Motor Industries Heritage Trust. In the Original Color, MG red with black Leather Interior trim in excellent condition. The indicated mileage is 21,992. While I have no real reason to disbelieve it, I can't substantiate it either. The TF came into being when sales of the TD slumped with the introduction of the faster, more modern-looking and similarly priced Triumph TR2. Morris Garages, makers of MG cars, merged with the Nuffield Organization to form the British Motor Corporation (B.M.C.). Considerable funding had gone into the new Austin-Healey and, although designs for the MG-A existed, there was a shortage of liquid capital with which to put it into production. Individual, adjustable Seats replaced the previous Bench Seat and there was a new, centrally located Instrument Panel featuring handsome Octagonal Gauges. It was initially well received but times had moved on. Production ceased in mid 1955 with B.M.C. needing to devote its time and energy towards production of the MG-A. Only 6,200 TF-1250's were manufactured with the majority coming to America to Canada and into Europe. Now about my car:- She was built between March 11 and 12 in 1954. It had then, as it has now, Car/Chassis (V.I.N.) Number HDC46/3984, Engine Number XPAGTF33797 and was exported by the factory to a dealer in the U.S. on March 15, 1954. Although she is a remarkable 60 years old, I am told she has only had three previous owners. As mentioned, the Odometer shows 21,992 miles and she is in excellent condition. However, she is not a "concours" car or a "trailer queen" and is by no means perfect but if you're looking for a car that you can confidently drive to and enter in your local car shows, she is it! Completely rust-free with the Undercarriage in excellent condition including all the visible Wooden Components. Bearing in mind her vintage, she has obviously been repainted. The Paintwork has the very minor scars of being driven but there are no dents. The Chromed Parts and the Manufacturer's Badges, etc., are original and in excellent condition. The Clock doesn't work (they never do!), the Horns both work but the Windshield Wipers – well, they are mainly for "entertainment" purposes - why would you take her out in the rain anyway! She has the minor fluid leaks that just go with the era. You know what they say, "if it doesn't leak, it's because there's no oil in it"! The under-hood Toolbox Lid displays several brass Plaques evidencing attendance at various car shows. The Engine starts instantaneously from cold with minor and short-lived use of the Choke and runs smoothly, idling at around 800 rpm and enthusiastically awaiting your use. She accelerates willingly with that gorgeous sound from the Exhaust. She changes smoothly through the Gears provided you are not too quick with your changes. First and Reverse are typically noisy, Moss, straight-cut, non-synchromesh gears. There is virtually no play in the Steering but please remember that the driving position is in the old "hit the horn button with your chest" style. The Steering is heavy (in those days there was no power assistance) and accentuated by the wider Tires which give her way above average roadholding. The "Emergency" Brake works as it should and the car's Brakes are also good but do require much more pressure than one is used to with modern cars (again, no power assistance). Similarly heavy, the Clutch can give you wheel spin at the start in First Gear if you wish, proof that the Clutch is good . All the Gauges, Switches and Lights have been checked and/or repaired/replaced and work as they should except the Clock, as mentioned. She has been comprehensively serviced including:- New Fluids. Needed Water Hoses replaced and the Radiator back-flushed and refilled. If you live anywhere but the tropics you will need to refill with anti-freeze. Fuel System professionally checked. Fuel Tank emptied and cleaned. Fuel Pump recently replaced. Carburetors cleaned and checked. Air Cleaners cleaned. New Points, Condenser and Plugs fitted. Generator and Voltage Regulator checked. Other items of interest:- Recent, new Battery fitted. Recently overhauled Starter Motor. Five brand new, Chromed, Wire Wheels just fitted. Five brand new 185 mm Michelin Tires just fitted. Brand new Koni Shock Absorbers have been fitted with the expensive conversion kits to improve the rear suspension and thus the road holding but the originally fitted Armstrong Shocks are still good and are included in the sale in case you want to convert back. There is a brand new Full Tonneau Cover, original Half Tonneau Cover (good condition) and a brand new Spare Wheel Cover. A brand new and expensive, chromed, rear Luggage Rack has been fitted. Brand new, Lucas PL700 Halogen Headlights have been fitted as have been of the era, vintage Lucas SLD/SPF576 Spot/Fog Lights and a Reversing Light. The latter lights are controlled from a dashboard-mounted Switch Panel with 2 extra, brass Switches for future use. Also a brand new Badge Bar with a brand new B.A.R.C. Club Badge. Twin, fender-mounted Wing Mirrors and twin, of the era, vintage Windscreen Wings. A battery cut-off switch for security purposes. She has the original Crank Handle; twin Hood Stays, an MG Jack with Crank and the correct, Thor, brass-headed Hammer for the chromed, Wire Wheel, Knock-on Hubs. On the passenger-side, Interior Valance a genuine antique, of the era, polished brass "Presto" Fire Extinguisher has been fitted in the correct bracket. As the retardant is now illegal, the contents have been evacuated, so the Extinguisher is for decorative purposes only. There is a full MG Toolkit and a spare Water Hose (with Clamps). Why the latter - I don't know, I just do it! The Hood is a recent, black canvas (important) replacement. The Frame is in good condition. All four Side Screens are in reasonable condition - the transparent, Vinyl Windows are aging but, as with the Windshield Wipers, why would you use them? Wrap them securely and put them in the attic where they belong. She also comes with an original Workshop Manual, the original Driver's Handbook (i.e. comprehensive), an old-style Driver's Routine Service Manual and several publications which will interest you. Just for fun there is a wicker Picnic Basket (internally fitted out and insulated) and an old-style driving helmet and a pair of racing goggles (both the latter the "theatrical/party" type). A physical inspection by you and/or your agent is cordially invited by appointment. I am asking $31,950 or near offer. Typically of classic cars, she is offered on the basis of "AS IS, WHERE IS" and in strict and sole accordance with the terms of a mutually agreed SALE/PURCHASE AGREEMENT and a formal BILL OF SALE. My Florida title for the car is clean. You'll probably have some questions so please don't hesitate to contact me - or maybe you just want to "car-chat"? My car is advertised locally so this listing can be cancelled at any time without prior notice. Thank you for your interest and I hope to hear from you, IAN (954) 463-5300 (Ft Lauderdale, Florida) or [email protected]

I think the MG TF is the most beautiful MG ever made and I sincerely believe my "TF-1500" is the most beautiful of them all! If you don't think so, please take another look at the photographs of my car. Not only is my car gorgeous looking, it is NUMBERS MATCHING which will be evidenced by the British Motor Industries Heritage Trust I have applied for. The MG TF was manufactured from July 13, 1953 until April 4, 1955 with V.I.N.'s from HDA13/501 through HDC46/10100 - a production run of 9,600 of which only 3,400 were the TF-1500's. An extensive restoration of my car was carried out between August 2010 and January 2014 as evidenced by the car's really good condition. A binder with all the bills is available and will go with the car. I don't know if the exterior metallic silver is original to the car. It is not one of the 5 standard colors BMC offered but it was possible to order from the factory any color one wished for both the exterior and the interior. If the paintwork is not of the original color, it has certainly made the car even more beautiful. The black Leather Interior trim shows beautifully and does appear to be original and in excellent condition. The indicated mileage is 62,552. While I have no real reason to disbelieve it, I can't substantiate it either. The TF came into being when sales of the TD slumped with the introduction of the faster, more modern-looking and similarly priced Triumph TR2. Only 3,400 TF-1500's were manufactured with the majority coming to America, to Canada and into Europe. Now about my car:- She was built in 1955, the B.M.I.H.T. certificate will give me the exact date. It had then, as it has now, Car/Chassis (V.I.N.) Number HDC46/8159, Engine Number XPEGTF2040 and Body Number TF18676. Although she is a remarkable 60 years old, she is in excellent, fully restored condition. However, she is not a "concours" car or a "trailer queen" and is by no means perfect but if you're looking for a car that you can confidently drive to and successfully enter in your local car shows, she is it! Completely rust-free with the Undercarriage in excellent condition including all the visible Wooden Components. Brand new and expensive, chromed, rear Luggage Rack. Vintage Lucas SLD/SPF576 Spot/Fog Lights and a Reversing Light, have been fitted and stone guards have been fitted to the headlights. A brand new Badge Bar with brand new B.R.S.C.C. and MG Abingdon Badges. Twin, fender-mounted Wing Mirrors and twin, of the era, vintage Windscreen Wings. Battery cut-off switch for security. She has the original Crank Handle (secured behind seats); twin Hood Stays (unusual), an MG Jack with Crank and the correct, Thor, brass-headed Hammer for the chromed, Wire Wheel, Knock-on Hubs. On the passenger-side, Interior Valance a genuine antique, of the era, polished brass "Presto" mini Fire Extinguisher has been fitted in a bracket. As the retardant is now illegal, the contents have been evacuated, so the Extinguisher is for decorative purposes only. There is a full MG Toolkit. The Hood is a recent, black replacement. The Hood's Frame is in good condition. All four, black Side Screens, including the transparent vinyl, are in excellent condition - they come with something I have not seen before - black canvas screen guards which, I assume, are to be used to protect each from the other (sandwich fashion) when you wrap them securely and put them in the attic where they belong. She also comes with a Workshop Manual, an old-style Driver's Handbook (i.e. comprehensive) and Driver's Routine Service Manual and several publications which will interest you. Just for fun there is a vintage, wicker Picnic Basket. A physical inspection by you and/or your agent is cordially invited by appointment. I am asking $38,950 or near offer. My car is being advertised locally and this listing can be withdrawn at any time without prior notice. Thank you for your interest and I hope to hear from you, IAN (954) 463-5300 (Ft Lauderdale, Florida) or [email protected]
