The dashboard includes a full set of instruments with bold, simple faces and a traditional British look. Comes with a reasonably-sized trunk with a full-sized spare and jack assembly. With just 1798cc to work with, performance is still quite good given the car's light weight. Combined with the light-shifting 4-speed manual gearbox, it's a delight to run it up and down through the gears, and you can explore the limits of the car's capabilities without endangering everyone else. There's a certain visceral thrill in running this MGB hard, and it rewards with great road manners!   You can't honestly say there are no more bargains in the automotive world when there are cars like this MGB running around. Two seats, a top that goes down, make it one of the biggest bangs for the buck anywhere!                                                 Vehicle           Photos                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Payment           Information                     Payment for cars can be made in several ways. 1974 MGB GT Fully Restored!!! Here is an absolutely beautiful 1974 MGB GT that is in excellent condition and has been restored beautifully by the previous owner!!!! C This gorgeous MGB GT features one of the nicest restorations I have seen on an MG with a no expense spared restoration. The previous owner did an absolutely amazing job with the restoration of this car. He is an engineer who was building the car for himself and really went the extra mile on the car. Take a look at all the photos and you will see a beautiful bare metal paint job, a stunning interior featuring beautiful wood paneling a modern radio and even heated seats. Look into the engine bay and you will see all new wiring and stainless hardware. This MGB has had a no expense restoration with upgrades along the such as a fully rebuilt engine including pistons and bearings and a brand new aluminum cylinder head, fully powder coated suspension with urethane bushings, custom stereo and an absolutely beautiful paint job on an beautiful rust free body!!! The MG has been gone through from tip to tale and from top to bottom with every single component being replaced, restored or upgraded. According to the previous owner there was almost nothing left untouched. One look at this car and you will realize that this MG is not like many other MGB GTs in the world. This is something special and the car just has that great crisp look to it, with its beautiful paint job, great stance, gorgeous interior and tons of tasteful upgrades. Tens of thousands of dollars has been put into this car and hundreds of hours. To replicate this car would cost at least double the asking price. The car has been driven since completion and the car drives excellent and is very reliable. This is a rust free classic MG and it is even nicer in person than it is in the pictures. This car has been very well cared for and it shows. This is a great collectible classic that is surely to appreciate in value over the next several years!!! One of the finest GTs in the world and an incredible build by the previous owner! There are at over 230 hi quality pictures of this MG in this ad. Please let the ad load in its entirety before scrolling down. It may take a moment. Also, please do not hesitate to call me with any questions. 98% of my cars listed for sale will sell before the "end date" listed on eBay. Click to enlarge Exterior: This MGB GT looks fantastic in its red paint job with beautifully polished wheels and gorgeous chrome. The paint job on this car was completed to a high standard and looks excellent. The car was completely disassembled, hood, trunk, doors, glass, trim etc.. was all removed, taken down to bare metal and painted separately. Even the bottom side of the body car was stripped down and repainted as well. Even the bottom side of the floor pans were painted exterior color. This was an incredibly rust free car and the floors have no patches and ll of the jacking points and sills on the car are completely unmolested and rust free The body is LASER straight and looks beautiful. All of the rubber seals were replaced after the car was painted and are all in great condition. Many many many man hours were spend getting the doors and panels perfectly aligned and working with amazing precision. The paint job on this car alone exceeds the cost of many classic MGs. This is a car that you could bring to a local car show and show it with pride, or you could go on great weekend drives in. Overall the exterior is in excellent shape showing minor use since restoration with only a few touched up areas. Click to enlarge Interior: The classic tan interior of this MG is BETTER than new and in excellent condition. The front and rear seats are like new and in excellent shape featuring correct cloth upholstery. One very nice addition to the seats is the fact that the car has HEATED SEATS!! The seats are free of stains, rips and tears. When the seats were reupholstered all of the foam was replaced as well. The carpet is new and in excellent shape. The dash is in perfect condition as it was a brand new fresh dash and is free of cracks etc... In-fact all of the dash pieces have been replaced and are brand new. Every courtesy light, every gauge etc... are all in great working order. A wood steering wheel and wood paneling has been added to the car, and while typically I am not a fan of these... it looks stunning on this car and the overall effect of the added wood and chrome to the interior gives the interior a much more upscale look than the standard B. It really reminds me of a Jag or Healey! There is a Ipod hookup in the center console and there is a great sounding stereo installed that is a modern radio made to look a bit retro so it doesn't stand out in the cabin. This really is the ultimate MGB GT. Overall the interior of this car is beautiful and is a great place to waste the weekend away. This engine has been completely rebuilt and detailed to a showroom like finish. The engine runs beautifully. It always starts and runs excellent just like a modern car. This engine has had lots of money poured and into it and features an upgraded aluminum cylinder head. The car runs GREAT!!! The engine bay was sandblasted and refinished to a high standard and is truly show quality. The cars transmission shifts beautifully with no grinding between the gears and the clutch and flywheel was replaced as part of the restoration. In fact, practically every single system of the car was rebuilt or replaced. The exhaust is all new, new carb, all new suspension refinished both cosmetically and mechanically, all the hydraulics were replaced, all new brakes, new brake lines... I mean from tip to tale not a single thing was over looked. The engine sounds great with its exhaust exiting under the rear valance. The car runs nice and cool even in Arizona's hot and dry climate. The car steers beautifully with fully rebuilt suspension and the car tracks perfectly down the road. The bottom side of this B is as well finished as the top side. I can not stress enough at how every inch of this car has been gone through and virtually every component rebuilt or replaced. This car would cost at least twice as much to duplicate! This Bis truly turn key and ready for its next owner!!! Click to enlarge Classic British Sports car are getting more and more desireable and collectable. MGs that are this nice are even difficult to find! Most have just been slapped together to look nice on ebay. Lots of love, attention to detail and money have been poured into this car. 1970 MGB GT restoration project. Very solid candidate for restoration or to build a runner. Solid floors all around. Front fenders removed and as you can see from the pics the inner fenders are rock solid! Included in the deal are two new fenders without the side marker light holes for an earlier, prettier look! Light surface rust on new fenders from storage but brand new! Also included are all the parts from a 1971 donor vehicle which had excellent doors and rear hatch, the later of which will be required for the 1970. So you have an entire second cars worth of parts which is very handy for any vintage vehicle owner! The only thing missing was both engines. I have a head, carbs, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds but the rest of the engines were gone when I bought them. MGB engines are easy to find, so shouldn't be a problem. Both cars were drivers until about 6 or 7 years ago, I think. I bought them as a resto project but house project forces sale. The title is clean, non op with no back registration due! In new parts I have front end rebuild and brakes ( Poly bushings, brake rotors, seal kits.) that cost $450 new from Moss. The fenders I bought for $550 for the pair. The seats from the 1971 are in very good condition and could be bolted into any MGB and used as is. The usual like carpet, door panels, etc need replacing, as you would anyway with a resto, but I do have the original vinyl flooring in good condition. All the exterior trim pieces are there as are the bumpers which are usable but could be re-chromed. The bonnet is aluminum and in good condition! The only repair needed is to weld the latch mechanism area back in place ( I have the piece which someone cut out for some reason? Maybe to make a lift off style hood). Also, sorry but I do NOT have any individual parts for sale. It's a package deal. The donor car body is gone also. Thank you. Asking $1500 o.b.o. for everything including $1000 in new parts alone. No reasonable offer refused :) Cheers!

When you purchase a pre-owned vehicle it is not a new vehicle. Any used vehicle can have normal wear and blemishes. Before placing a bid please read the descriptions thoroughly and view all pictures. Feel free to call our Sales Hotline at (603) 818-8511 for a "walk around" verbal description of each vehicle we have in our warehouse. Also, please keep in mind that we specialize in cars older than 25 model years and we do our absolute best to represent these cars in a direct, honest, and fair manner with over 100 pictures for each car along with a video to let you see the car move and hear the car run. Our written ads reflect both the fact that we really love these cars and feel that we are saving a part of America. We do our best to describe some of the features that you might find important. As a buyer of a car that is older than 25 model years, unless the car is represented as perfect (which our cars are not), you need to be aware that there are many smaller things that may or may not work, or may work one day and not the next, in these cars. This is due to the fact that they are over 25 years old. When bidding on a car please keep this in mind. BIDDING, WINNING, PAYING:We reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have fewer than 5 feedbacks. Upon meeting the reserve, bidders must message or call immediately and demonstrate a serious intent to purchase. If we don’t hear from you within a short time, we will cancel your bid. We have a zero tolerance policy for SHILL BIDDING and BID INTERFERENCE.TO BID YOU MUST BE OVER 18 and pay with a wire transfer, personal check, cashier’s check, certified bank check, or money order. Partial payments via PayPal and credit card payments are acceptable. Please DO NOT BID without the intent to finalize this transaction. Winning bidders that do not finalize will receive negative feedback and will be reported to eBay. They will also be blocked from future auctions.ALL SALES ARE FINAL. THE VEHICLE IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS! If you have a question, please ask. Our associates are happy to respond to whatever questions or concerns you may have. FEES:There is a $149.00 documentation fee with each transaction to cover the costs associated with transactional paperwork, title, storage, and detailing. We offer door-to-door shipping for most of our vehicles. Please inquire for an estimate. There is a 149.00 fee to arrange this service. Shipping date and price estimates are just that: estimates, subject to change due to fuel prices, weather, and other variables. DISCLAIMERS:Seller reserves the right to end auction early. This is the case with nearly every vehicle that we sell on eBay, as the vehicles are also being offered in local classifieds and on our website. If you see it and want it, CALL; don’t wait! TermsNotice to Bidders: At DustyOldCars we understand that to buy a vehicle you have not seen, from a dealer you have not met, requires a leap of faith that is why we make every effort to accurately and fairly describe our vehicles to our customers. However, with all pre-owned vehicles that are over 25 model years in age, the condition is subjective. Any errors are unintentional. They may have small dings, small scratches, and minor imperfections. The interior may also be worn due to corresponding miles on vehicle. Please be advised that you should expect a certain amount of wear, flaws from a vehicle over 25 model years in age and use that you would not expect from purchasing a new vehicle. Almost all of our cars are antique vehicles and at times, they may come without accessories such as extra keys, cd magazines, navigation discs, floor mats, tools, etc. and owners manuals. Today, as always, this car is all about affordable fun in the sun and the look makes this one stand out in a crowd. The biggest modification, and the one that you'll appreciate most, is the removal of those clunky federally-mandated rubber bumpers, which marred the otherwise sleek MGB in the mid-70s. Shaving them off completely gives this MGB a sleek, purposeful look that's entirely in line with its sporting intentions. Adding a chrome grille up front makes it look like the original designers intended and with a pair of big rally lights up front and a roll pan in back, the car looks quite finished, as if the factory built it that way. The silver paint was done a while ago and isn't show quality, but for a car that's destined to be driven with gusto on twisting country roads, nobody will notice or care. The important stuff like the rockers and doors are in good condition and the overall unusual look will win this B a lot of fans along the way. Traditional styling elements like the chrome-ringed side marker lights, big taillights, and exposed rear gas filler remain in place, keeping this car firmly tied to its British heritage. When you think "British sports car," this 2-seat interior is what should pop into your mind. Twin buckets flanking a console, rugged seat covers that are cleverly textured to keep them cool, and big, simple gauges were all hallmarks of MG in the 1970s. The wood-rimmed steering wheel adds some very welcome warmth to the interior yet maintains a traditional sports car look with its aluminum spokes, and the fatter rim makes it easy to grab with your string-back driving gloves (you do own a pair of those, right?). The gauges are in good order, the seat covers are excellent, and it appears to have recent carpets. The car's most desirable feature, a factory overdrive, is actuated by a big red switch on the dash, rally style, and it not only transforms the MGB into a decent long-distance cruiser, but it makes you feel like you're at the wheel of a far more expensive machine. There's a decent-fitting black convertible top that fits behind the seats, and the trunk is nicely carpeted and includes a full-sized spare. The 1798cc inline-four won't win any drag races, but the joy of an MG is not all-out speed but rather how the machine goes about its business. The gutsy engine loves to rev and makes a great baritone howl from the exhaust pipe out back, so you'll relish each gear shift. You can drive this car at 9/10ths and really have a ball without endangering the countryside, and it works exceptionally well. The nicely detailed engine has a few bright red accents, an aftermarket exhaust header, and enough power to feel lively at any speed. The 4-speed manual shifts easily and you'll love running it through the gears, and with the aforementioned overdrive, it's pretty relaxed on the highway, too. The suspension is a good combination of supple and competent and with the lightweight bodywork, the brakes are impressive. Factory wheels look right and carry 175/70/14 Falken radials all around. You've been admiring MGBs for years, why not take the plunge and get a good one? Classic good looks in a car that doesn't cost a fortune to acquire or maintain, it's the ideal vintage roadster for the purist who prefers the old fashioned way of doing things. Sure, the B was archaic by 1972, but that's all part of its charm, and with delicate chrome bumpers, the early cars have an entirely different look than their rubber-snouted younger siblings. With that in mind, this 1972 model is the one you want: clean and straight with all the good stuff already on board. The Bronze Yellow paint looks quite good and is an older repaint, but if that's the case, you know this car has always been loved. For that you can thank 40 years of proper care plus an owner who actually cared about appearances, even on this very affordable roadster. The bodywork underneath is quite nice, too, with straight panels and no sign of the dreaded tin worm, for which these cars were notorious. The doors fit well, the hood opens effortlessly, and there's a purity of line that the later cars just can't match. Of course, those chrome bumpers that make this one of the more desirable Bs are in excellent shape, as is the grille, which is protected by a set of rubber-lined bumper guards that actually look quite sporting. Classic accommodations for two can be found inside the cozy MGB, but once you're behind the wheel you'll discover that there's plenty of room and the driving position is quite good. The 3-spoke steering wheel looks suitably racy and will go great with your string-backed driving gloves, and the shifter falls readily to hand under spirited driving. Wood was gone by 1972, but the classic Smiths instruments remain, giving a tantalizing glimpse into history. The black bucket seats are comfortable and supportive for spirited driving, and the engine's energetic exhaust note was reportedly copied by Mazda for the original Miata. The trunk is basic, but carries a matching wire wheel and spare tire, a set of tools, and a set of neatly fitted carpets to make it look finished. Overhead you get a folding vinyl top that's older but still quite presentable, and it stows in seconds under a matching boot that gives the B a dashing profile. The engine is the same rugged, reliable 1798 cc inline-four that propelled MGs for years, but why mess with a good thing? Thanks to a single carburetor and basic ignition system, maintenance can be performed with a screwdriver, and it has a satisfyingly fat torque curve that makes the car feel quick and agile around town. It's nicely restored under the bonnet, too, with lots of new gear, correct replacement parts, and a look of having been loved all its life. The 4-speed manual is a joy to shift, especially with pedals easily placed for heel-and-toe maneuvers, and you may find yourself dropping down a gear in tunnels just to hear its brawny exhaust note. Braking is confident and handling competent thanks to the car's size and low center of gravity. And, of course, attractive wire wheels have been fitted wearing 185/70/14 radials which are surely worlds better than the original Dunlops. There's no better way to have fun with the top down than a vintage British roadster. About Us 1980 MGB Limited Edition low mileage original Description Rosner MotorSports is delighted to offer this rare and desirable example of British Leyland motoring history. The 1980 MGB Limited Edition was a marketing endeavor between B-L and the U.S. distributorship in Leonia, NJ to mark the end of new MGB sales in the North American Market. The production period of the North American version “LE” was 1979-1980. An agreement between British Leyland, the U.S distributorship and all North American insured that the “LE kit” would be only installed on black cars and to buy a black car of that time period, it had to be a Limited Edition only. There were 6,668 produced in the two years of production. In addition to the color specific exterior, numerous components are specific to the Limited Edition model. These items make the Limited Edition unique in comparison to standard MGB’s of 1979-80. Here’s a list of those components Front air dam L.E. Five spoke alloy wheels, manufactured by GKN, with MG hub center appliqués Silver lower body stripes Luggage rack Leather covered, padded, three spoke steering wheel with a special center hub. This uses the same MG applique as the wheels A Limited Edition dash plaque installed on the glove box Our 1980 MGB Limited Edition Roadster is finished in original black exterior with the optional tan interior. This roadster has fewer than 20k miles and the overall condition indicates it was always garage kept. The convertible top is in excellent condition as is the factory tonneau cover. The 1798 cc, 4 cylinder engine produces just under 100 horsepower and is matted to a four-speed manual gearbox. Hydraulic disc brakes are installed on the front with drum brakes on the rear. This great car represents the refinement and culmination of the MGB series that began in 1963. Our MGB-LE is a terrific car to drive and it’s certainly nice enough to be proudly shown at any event. As MG prices continue to rise, this is the time to add this reasonably priced classic to your collection. Contact Bob Reilly at Rosner MotorSports at 540-287-4378 for additional information. ? ? This car has been owned by a longtime MG enthusiat that had retired and reworked this car for touring around the US in his retirement.Touring he did, with pipe in his mouth, hard top attached, small luggage trailer connected and off he went. This car has an upgraded high compression aluminum head, dual carburetors,a FIVE speed Ford transmission (shipped in from England for MG upgrades),upgraded suspension, exhaust, wheels, and ignition, front spoiler, stainless steel fuel tank, header and straight pipe exhaust. In addition there are several other upgrades performed on the vehicle. The package comes together in an aggressive look with a strong run and drive. One could not duplicate his work for the price this car is being offered. The time, cost of car,and parts would make it prohibitive. This car offers an opportunity to purchase an highly upgraded iconic classic for a low entry price.Review the pictures,if the car holds interest contact me at 615-971-4409.Full set of receipts and records come with the car.I believe speedo is over not actual and miles are exempt(one is buying the package not the miles).Independent prepurchase inspections are welcomed and encouraged.there will be an additional $298.50 assessed to each sales transaction for dealer doc fees. This and other European collectibles may be reviewed at jpfrazier.com Contact Us Dealer Contact Music City Motorsports AutoCheck Music City Motorsports is a AutoCheck Certified dealer. With an immaculate frame-off restoration in spectacular colors, this 1963 MGB roadster is drop-dead gorgeous. But wait, it's also an impressive runner with a long list of smart upgrades to make more than just another 4-pot British roadster. It used to be you had to go Italian to get a 2-seater that would run like this. There's a lot of hand labor invested in the bodywork, and it shows here. There's not a ripple or a wave anywhere and given the cost of the restoration, it shouldn't be a surprise that it turned out so well. White is this car's original color, but the paint on it today is a custom PPG mix that adds a bit of pearl just for effect and the clear is the same stuff used on high-end guitars, so it has an impossible shine that's easy to maintain. The chrome bumper cars are popular with MG enthusiasts due to their classic roadster looks, and against the pearl white paint, the chrome sparkles and glitters like something very, very expensive. All the details are there, from the MG badges on the nose and tail to the chrome sport mirrors and polished gas cap, and with a custom chin spoiler, it has an aggressive look that suits the early 'B just fine. The black vinyl interior has a host of upgrades that enhance the driving experience but don't change the MGB's essential personality. Only the Brits seem to have mastered the low-cost, high-style look, because most folks would sit behind the wheel and figure that this is a very expensive car. There's a brand new wood-rimmed steering wheel and walnut shifter knob, along with fresh carpets and sun visors to keep everything looking fresh. Rebuilt Smiths gauges are a British motor industry tradition, and even in 1963, they had a classic look that was one part simplicity and one part elegance. They've also cleverly integrated a whole host of auxiliary gauges into the dash, so you can keep a closer eye on the warmed-over engine up front. The original radio is gone, replaced by a Kenwood AM/FM/CD head unit that sounds a lot better and actually looks quite good settled in there below the clock and fuel gauge. A pair of subtle roll bars behind the seats are a good way to make your 'B look racy, and they fits neatly under the new black convertible top with matching black boot. There's even a decent amount of trunk capacity, despite a full-sized spare living under that MG tire cover. Rebuilt 695 miles ago and ready to rock, the diminutive 1800cc inline four performs heroically thanks to a bunch of smart upgrades. The block is topped by an aluminum cylinder head, fresh carburetion under an MG-logo air cleaner, and a flashy finned valve cover up top. Lots of shiny chrome and aluminum parts, plus some braided stainless hoses, make the engine bay look capable and efficient, not to mention ultra-clean. A custom exhaust system is a true dual setup with custom side-exit pipes that give the brawny four one heck of a voice. The 4-speed manual transmission was completely rebuilt, the rear end was re-sealed, and the entire front suspension was rebuilt, so this one is ready to party. Cool Minilite-style wheels are practically required on a car like this and carry fat 185/70/14 blackwall radials. We can't possibly cover all the work that's been done to this beautiful MGB, but with all the receipts and restoration photos included, it'll be easy to see just how nice it really is. It has just undergone service and runs great, looks great, with no other problems or issues found! It would make a great little run around and weekend car. It is priced to sell and won't last long! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MG MGB Factory Specs The MGB is a two-door sports car manufactured and marketed by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), later British Leyland, as a four-cylinder, soft-top roadster from 1962 until 1980. Variants include the MGB GT three-door 2+2 coupe (1965-74), the six-cylinder roadster and coupe MGC (1967-69), and the eight-cylinder 2+2 coupe, the MGB GT V8 (1973-76). Replacing the MGA in 1962, production of the MGB and its variants continued until 1980, achieving sales for the MGB, MGC and MGB GT V8 combined of 523,836 cars. The MGB bodyshell was reprised in modified form with a limited run of 2,000 MG RV8 roadsters (1993-95). History In structure the MGB was an innovative, modern design in 1962, utilizing a monocoque structure instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types and the MGB's rival, the Triumph TR series.[3] However components such as brakes and suspension were developments of the earlier 1955 MGA with the B-Series engine having its origins in 1947. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard, and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. A parcel shelf was fitted behind the seats. The MGB achieved a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of just over 11 seconds. The 3-bearing 1798 cc B-Series engine produced 95 hp (71 kW) at 5,400 rpm - upgraded in October 1964 to a five-bearing crankshaft. The majority of MGBs were exported to the United States. In 1975 US-market MGB engines were de-tuned to meet emission standards, ride height was increased by an inch (25 mm), and distinctive rubber bumpers were fitted to meet bumper standards. The MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in a 30 mph (48 km/h) impact with an immovable barrier (200 ton). A limited production of 2,000 units of the RV8 was produced by Rover in the 1990s. Despite the similarity in appearance to the roadster, the RV8 had less than 5 percent parts interchangeability with the original car. Drivetrain A sectioned MGB showing engine and gearbox configuration Engine: All MGBs (except the V8 version) utilized the BMC B-Series engine. This engine was essentially an enlarged version of that used in the MGA with displacement being increased from 1622 cc to 1798 cc. The earlier cars used a three main bearing crankshaft, 18G-series. In February 1964 positive crank-case breathing was introduced and engine prefix changed to 18GA, until October 1964, when a five-bearing crankshaft design was introduced, engine prefix became 18GB. Horsepower was rated at 95net bhp on both 5 main bearing and earlier 3-bearing cars with peak power coming at 5400 rpm with a 6000 rpm redline. Torque output on the MGB had a peak of 110 lb*ft (150 N*m) Fuel consumption was around 25mpg.[6] US specification cars saw power fall in 1968 with the introduction of emission standards and the use of air or smog pumps. In 1971 UK spec cars still had 95 bhp (71 kW) at 5,500 rpm, with 105 lb*ft (142 N*m) torque at 2500 rpm. Engine prefix became 18V and the SU carburettor needles were changed for reasons of the latest emission regulations, under ECE15. By 1973 it was 94 bhp (70 kW); by 1974 it was 87, with 103 lb*ft (140 N*m) torque; by 1975 it was 85 with 100 lb*ft (140 N*m). Some California specification cars produced only around 70 hp (52 kW) by the late 1970s. The compression ratio was also reduced from 9 to 1 to 8:1 on US spec cars in 1972. Carburation: All MGBs from 1963 to 1974 used twin 1.5-inch (38 mm) SU carburetors. US spec cars from 1975 used a single Stromberg 1.75-inch (44 mm) carburetor mounted on a combination intake-exhaust manifold. This greatly reduced power as well as creating longevity problems as the (adjacent) catalytic converter tended to crack the intake-exhaust manifold. All MGBs used a SU-built electric fuel pump. Gearbox:: All MGBs from 1962 to 1967 used a four-speed manual gearbox with a non-synchromesh, straight-cut first gear. Optional overdrive was available. This gearbox was based on that used in the MGA with some minor upgrades to cope with the additional output of the larger MGB engine. In 1968 the early gearbox was replaced by a full synchromesh unit based on the MGC gearbox. This unit was designed to handle the 150net bhp of the 3-litre engine of the MGC and was thus over-engineered when mated with the standard MGB B-Series engine. In fact, the same transmission was even used in the 3.5-litre V-8 version of the MGB-GT-V8. An automatic three-speed transmission was also offered as a factory option, but proved to be fairly unpopular. Electrically engaged overdrive gearboxes were an available option on all MGBs. The overdrive unit was operational in third and fourth gears (until 1977, when overdrive was only operational in fourth)[8] but the overall ratio in third gear overdrive was roughly the same as fourth gear direct. The overdrive unit was engaged by a toggle switch located on the dashboard. The switch was moved to the top of the gearshift knob in 1977. Overdrives were fitted to less than 20% of all MGBs, making it a very desirable feature. There were three different types of overdrive transmissions fitted to the MGB. 1968 through 1974.5 Laycock Type LH OD Rectangular shaped access cover Oval clutch fork boot Dipstick (for checking oil) Black label on the OD solenoid cover stamped "22/61972" 1280 TPM for OD and non-OD Speedometer drive gear (on the mainshaft) is blue Speedometer driven gear (on removable drive housing) is white with 21 teeth WE DO REQUIRE A $500 DEPOSIT VIA CREDIT CARD OR CASH IN PERSON WITHIN 24 HOURS AUCTION OR LISTING CLOSE.
