The complete frame off restoration of this car was completed in 2009 and absolutely looks like it was finished a week ago. It has less then 500 miles on the restoration. Spring is here and it’s time to get out on the road in a very classy way! You can relive some memories or make some new ones in this beautiful 1961 Nash Metropolitan. If you are looking at this ad, you should be open to making some new friends because people will wave, give you a thumbs up" sign and stop you to ask about this car! Up for sale is a fine example of one of the cutest cars ever made! This car’s features include: NO RUST, flying lady hood ornament, fine front suspension, beautiful paint with pin stripe accents, a large trunk, and all original equipment. The1500 cc engine starts right up, runs perfectly, does not use oil, and can get 30 MPG (or close to it). Feel those 53 HP kick in! The transmission and clutch work perfectly as well. This car went through a full restoration in 1998 and has been kept in excellent condition since then. This car has new exhaust, shocks, radiator, gas tank, and a new AM/FM/CD player with new speakers. Her upholstery and headliner is newer and in very good condition. This Met has been switched over to 12 volts and sports a new alternator. It has wide, white wall tires that have good tread, and new hub caps. The paint shines like new. As far as I know she has been kept indoors since the restoration. This is further evidenced by the 5+ car show awards that have been won. This includes one award in a very large show from summer of 2013. Like most other 50+ year old automobiles there are a few shortcomings. It leaks a little oil like most Mets, the horn button has been moved below the dash, and the driver’s side window must be pulled or pushed while cranking. I will let the pictures speak for the car's fine condition. We purchased this car sight unseen and were very happy. The car is located in Denver, CO and I have the clean title in hand. Please call Jack at 303 859 8859 with further questions, to set up an inspection, or to request more photos. This sale may end early if a good offer is received. I will be happy to coordinate with a shipping company. The fine print: Make sure you have your spouse’s permission before placing an offer and you don’t have other excuses if you win. The car is sold as is, there is with no warranty of any kind. If you don’t know, bidding and/or winning enters you into a legal contract to buy the vehicle, based on the information provided. All funds shall be paid no later than 72 hours from after your offer is accepted. Payment may be via wire transfer, certified or cashier’s check or cash in person. The car will only be released and the title signed when the funds have cleared into my account. (This may take several days for a check to clear.) Thank you. BEEP BEEP: DON’T LET THIS FINE NASH PASS YOU BY!

With a huge enthusiast following, they've become the smart hobby car for today's world, offering wonderful '50s styling in a compact package that's easy on the fuel as well as the eyes. This particular 1958 Met brings with it a long list of upgrades, including A/C. Let that sink in for a moment; someone spent a goodly sum of cash to make this little car a delight to drive. Now some experts might be able to find a few things that aren't quite factory, but the fact is the fit and finish on this car are light years better than original and befitting of a car worth four times as much. The jaunty two-tone Mardi Gras Red over Frost White paint scheme is original, but was only applied after the diminutive body was worked to really sparkle, and it really paid off. Check out how tight the door gaps are, how crisp the grooves in the window sill are, and how crisp the line between red and white is across the hood. It's not quite perfect, but it's far, far nicer than a car at this price point has any right to be. All the chrome was professionally refinished, too, including the egg crate grille and unique bumpers. The car is tiny, no question about it, but you'll find that it's easy to get comfortable inside. The split bench seat has been upholstered in original style houndstooth fabric with vinyl accents, and legroom is good, even for six-footers. Dramatic black and white door panels almost look like modern art and the sweeping black dash is handsome as well as functional. All the relevant instruments are clustered ahead of the driver, with an auxiliary temperature gauge installed under the dash, along with the A/C. The AM radio is neatly integrated into the dash just above the ignition and offers big, easy-to-use knobs, although it is sadly not functional. New black carpets, seat belts, and new floor mats help it feel comfortable and quiet inside and while there's a back seat, it's probably best for storage or small children. With the spare tire stowed on the outside of the bodywork, the trunk will easily swallow a weekend's worth of luggage. The Austin A90 donated its 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 50 horsepower. Bearing in mind the car's modest size and weight, performance is energetic and you'll find yourself zipping around corners, one of the many benefits of the lightweight design. The engine wears correct green paint on the engine itself and properly finished accessories around it. A 1-barrel Zenith carburetor handles induction chores and a reproduction exhaust system gives it an authentic sound that's sporty without being annoying. A long list of upgrades include an electric fuel pump, modern GM alternator, new engine and transmission mounts, rebuilt brakes, and a new fuel tank out back, so it's ready to cruise. The three-speed manual transmission shifts nicely thanks to new bushings and the rear gears have been changed from 4.22s to 3.90s, so it's pretty comfortable on the highway. You'll also be pleased to note that tires are diminutive 155/80/13s, which ride well and are incredibly affordable, making this a hobby car that's easy on the wallet now and in the future. A lovely little car, this Nash is way out at the far end of the quality scale with no hope of recovering the restoration costs. What that means is a big score for the lucky new owner, who gets to enjoy one of the best for a fraction of the cost. If you want ultra-cool in a compact package, how about this 1957 Nash Metropolitan instead? Classic '50s styling with an economical and fun driving style make for a slam-dunk hobby car during these uncertain times. Restored in 2005 by a guy who just wanted to drive, this little Met is a rather rare and unusual coupe version and remains in great condition today. The Ivory paint has a great pastel 1950s look that shows off the interesting bodywork to great effect. With that subtle color, you can take the time to notice things like the vent at the base of the windshield, the little dip in the doors where the windows roll down, and the jaunty continental kit out back that makes everyone smile. Fit and finish are quite good, and despite a few years of driving enjoyment across the country, it really looks fantastic. Much of the chrome is original, which is OK because this car hails from California and spent much of its life in Texas and Georgia. It's also worth noting that this car proudly wears a Metropolitan emblem on its grille, not the usual Nash badge of earlier years. The Metropolitan is small, but it feels full-size once you're behind the wheel. The diminutive proportions mask a surprisingly comfortable interior, anchored by a cloth bench with split back for easy access to the rear package shelf area. With narrow pleats it looks right for 1957, although the materials aren't 100% correct. The simple instrument panel is reminiscent of the other micro-car of the period, the VW Beetle, with its big speedometer and fuel gauge setup, but someone has thoughtfully added a Stewart-Warner temperature gauge just to the left of the steering column. The original AM radio is in the dash and as is typical of cars of this era, it's not functional, but there's an AM/FM head unit in the dash so you shouldn't be afraid to hit the road. With combined storage between the trunk and rear area, this really is a car that can take you on a cross-country tour without compromise. The Metropolitan is an interesting Anglo-American hybrid in that it's one of the rare cars that was built in Europe exclusively for the US-market by a US auto maker. As a result, it carries a 1489 cc inline-four built by Austin in England. It's a rugged little engine that delivers spirited performance in the lightweight Metropolitan and parts are still easy to find and quite inexpensive. Even more importantly, fuel mileage routinely hovers in the 30+ MPG range, making this a fantastic car if you're on a budget but still like to get out and drive. The engine bay is neat and tidy, but since it's been driven and enjoyed, it's no longer show-quality, but mechanically it remains in superior condition and ready to drive anywhere. The 3-speed manual transmission has light action and with smart gearing, it cruises at 60 MPH without complaint and without being buzzy on the highway. The conventional suspension is surprisingly compliant and with those tiny 155/80/13 tires, the turning radius is tight enough to make traffic a blast. A neat little mini car with great club support and a wonderful '50s vibe. If going green is your thing, perhaps a bit of eco-friendliness from the '50s is just what you need.
