Always a California truck since new. We purchased from a beautiful private equestrian stables in Redding, CA, and used it to tow another vehicle 2,400 miles back to WI. It performed flawlessly.Zero rust, never even a bubble. Was a dry, straight, clean truck with notorious GM paint that had been burned thin by the dry California climate. So, we disassembled the truck (all glass out, bumpers off, all trim removed, interior removed) and performed a high quality DuPont/SPI urethane basecoat/clearcoat refinish (original Russet Metallic over Frost White) that would preserve this truck's beauty for decades to come. The interior is all original, and all GM. Not perfect of course, but amazing for a 29 year old truck.Mechanically, it is in good running order. Strong engine and transmission. Everything works. We've performed some regular maintenance and a few minor repairs in the 3,500 miles in our care. Tires are in great shape. Drives down the road straight and smooth. It's a pleasure to drive, and it tows beautifully as well. 7 pin wiring harnesses in both bed and bumper, and original Kelsey-Hayes hydraulic over electric proportioning brake controller are included.1987 was the last year of the increasingly sought-after "squarebody" style in a regular cab pickup, and the first year the mighty big-block was fuel injected. So this 1987 R20 454 was a one-year-only truck, and one of the more desirable squares.We realize there are cheaper examples out there, but not many nicer. This was what we consider a "Preservation Restoration" where all original parts are re-used, but cosmetically restored when possible. This is not a $50,000 rotisserie frame-off nut-and-bolt restoration. It is not perfect if your benchmark is the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, but is likely nicer than 99.9% of similar trucks offered for sale. It is a factory 4WD, short bed truck and is a very hard truck to find. I saw one of these sell at Barrett Jackson car auction last year for over $80,000 in restored condition got a bug up my ass to buy one and add it to my car collection. I wound up buying it in a package deal with a Hummer H1 and after looking at it for 6 months and not touching it, I decided I want the parking space back. I purchased it in exactly the same condition it sits now and have very little information about it's history. What I do know is that I purchased it out of California and it has been there for some time as indicated by the stack of registration stickers on the California license plates it has. As per the vin # it is a factory V8, 4WD truck that was build in Fremont, California. It was not running when I purchased it but it looks like everything under the hood is all hooked up and was running not too long ago. It has a small block Chevy motor, 4 speed manual transmission and the transfer case all intact. It had 3/4 ton or 1 ton front and rear ends installed in it but they are not hooked up including the brake lines and missing the drives haft. The rear end is a 14 bolt and currently has 20 inch 8 lug wheels on it. The frame and underbody looks to be in nice shape without any rust issues. As I mentioned, it sports a brand new 350 cubic-inch, 375 horsepower small-block engine and a new TH-350 transmission with a new shift kit for optimum drivability. Best of all, this ‘67 features the desirable Posi-Traction rear end for maximum performance and it is a California-built truck from the Chevrolet plant in Fremont. You get the best of all worlds. Beautifully restored classic look with a brand new, powerful engine and transmission. The classic car experts at Family Service Center in San Juan Capistrano, California recently went over this classic in great detail. They replaced the carrier bearing and tackled the entire braking system, including replacing the master cylinder, lines, shoes, springs, wheel cylinders. All fluids were also changed. Family also replaced the alternator, all under hood hoses and engine wiring, and installed a new billet HEI distributor with 10.5 wires. Under the hood, the Chevy 350 V8 features a new Edlebrock carburetor (with electric choke) and dress-up kit, new headers and new Flowmaster dual exhaust with a crossover. All engine and transmission mounts are new. The suspension has been lowered three inches up front and two inches in the rear and sports new chrome Incubus 20 x8-inch wheels all around wrapped in fresh Hankook tires. The interior is clean with new black carpeting, and a Grant GT steering wheel. The bench seat is comfortable and firm with in a neutral colored fabric. The steel door panels are in wonderful condition as are all the door and window handles. The body is straight with no dents, scrapes or signs of rust, and the two-tone exterior paint scheme is incredible, even the engine bay paint looks amazing. The bed has a fresh spray-on black liner to prevent metal fatigue from water or equipment. It drives great with ample passing power for those steep grades. Never overheats and rides smoothly. The new transmission allows for smooth shifts between gears. Keep in mind, this truck with this rear window is rare! Chevy only make it in 1967.
