Looking at this one-owner 1972 Plymouth Duster, you'll be amazed by the preservation of the body and interior and with a thrifty slant-six under the hood, it's a practical, fun, and surprisingly energetic starter collectable. Did we mention it comes with the original dealer invoice and owners manual? The bright red paint has a lot of years on it, yet given the fact that this car has lived its entire life in warm, dry, sunny Georgia, it's probably not a surprise that it still looks great. There's a gloss to the finish that no paint technique can duplicate and only time can make a car this honest. Sure, it's got a few signs of use (don't we all?), but this is the proverbial little old lady special that was tucked away whenever the weather turned foul and only used lightly. The doors, hood, and deck lid are all where the factory workers put them back in 1972 and there's just an intangible feel to a car that has never been apart that no restoration could ever duplicate. A black vinyl half roof makes the sporty Duster look a bit more formal, and the minimalist trim suits its economy-minded mission quite well. This is one of Chrysler's more attractive designs of the period, smooth and substantial without looking bloated, and even the chrome bumpers fit snugly to the body to enhance its sleek profile. The black interior is surprisingly comfortable and like the rest of the car, in amazing condition. Bench seats make it feel roomy inside and the bright metal inserts on the seat backs gives it an upscale impression when you first open the door. There's a remarkably complete array of instruments for the driver, all nestled into a woodgrained instrument panel, and the three-spoke steering wheel will be familiar to any Mopar fan. There's an A/C system under the dash which is an unusual addition to the affordable Duster, but the rest appears to be no-frills motoring, including the original AM radio in the dash. Check in the trunk and you'll find a reproduction mat, but one glance at the insides of the quarter panels confirms that they're original and untouched. The 225 cubic inch slant-six was one of Chrysler's better ideas. Durable and smooth, it has plenty of torque to move the lightweight Duster around in an entertaining way. It's been recently freshened and shows off bright corporate blue paint surrounded by a very clean engine bay. An original air cleaner fits snugly against the power brake booster and A/C compressor, which is now full of R134a refrigerant. It's backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission and the original rear end with highway-friendly gears inside, so this is a car you can drive regularly without emptying your bank account. There's plenty of originality underneath, which isn't a bad thing in this case, because there's nothing hiding under a layer of undercoating, just the signs of age that all cars of this vintage show. A single exhaust system has that distinctive slant-six sound and the ride is comfortable, not cheap-feeling. Recent whitewall radials have been fitted to sporty Rallye wheels, which always look right on '70s Chryslers. It probably won't make you rich overnight, but if you've been looking for an inexpensive way to enjoy the greatest hobby on earth, then this 1-owner, documented, bright Duster might just be the one for you. View Large Images ? ? Vehicle Information VIN: 25595515 Stock: 1753-ATL Mileage: 52,172 Color: Coral Trans: Manual Engine: MPG: Drivetrain: Description The Big Three were quite a bit different in the early 1950s, but you can see that Plymouth was a player with this handsome 1954 Plymouth Belvedere hardtop. Believed to have just 52,172 original miles, it is the stylish alternative to the been there, done that Fords and Chevys. With period-perfect colors, this Belvedere is a hit everywhere it goes. The Santa Rosa Coral paint is fairly fresh and looks right on the curvy early 50s shape. It doesnt use modern metallics, so it feels appropriate even though its modern urethane, and a quick cut and buff would easily take it to the next level. As a good, solid original car, the way it fits together is pretty much what you would have gotten in 1954 and theres a reassuring solidity to how the doors close and the way the hood latches shut. There are no replacement panels available for cars like this, so all the pieces you see on it are factory-issue and you can see how Chrysler was experimenting with tailfins and jet-age trim in the early days of the decade. Theres plenty of chrome, of course, most of which is original and in fair condition for being almost 60 years old (the front bumper is new), and the stainless has that soft shine that looks right. Curved glass makes a dramatic statement, particularly the rear window, which is probably irreplaceable at this point, so its a good thing its in great shape. The interior has been freshened using coral-colored cloth and white vinyl on the original bench seats, as well as the door panels. Fresh carpets tie it together, and the color-matched dash and window sills should be coral overload, but somehow it all works just fine. A few well-chosen bits of stainless highlight the door panels and instrument panel, which is a simple affair with all the major gauges ahead of the driver and the original AM radio in the center of the dash. The big plastic steering wheel is original and holding up well considering the state of plastic technology in 1954, so you know someone kept this car out of the sun, and three-on-the-tree shifting is easy to master with the shifter at your fingertips. Theres plenty of room in the trunk, which has also been reupholstered in gray fabric and carries a full-sized spare tire, just in case. Plymouth used a 217 cubic inch version of Chryslers erstwhile flathead six, which is one of the more durable powerplants in the companys history. And before you dismiss it as an underachiever, please come drive this Belvedere, where youll discover lively performance and plenty of smooth torque for around-town cruising. No, it wont win any races, but its delightful in traffic with great throttle response and well-chosen gears to make it easy to drive. The engine bay is fairly original, more proof of a good life, and the only modification seems to be a split manifold with a brand new dual exhaust system that gives the six a bit of an attitude. Ride, handling, and braking were some of the best of the era, and with modern 205/70/15 whitewall radials, it feels comfortable on the road. For those of you looking for a good driver-quality 54 Plymouth, you know how hard they are to find. Finding one thats ready to drive too well, thats even that much harder. You may be very pleasantly surprised. Call today! Vehicle Information VIN: 52220932 Stock: 1735-ATL Mileage: 29,191 Color: White Trans: Automatic Engine: MPG: Drivetrain: Description If you were at the Indianapolis 500 in 1965, you saw a Plymouth Sport Fury convertible very much like this serving as the pace car. 1500 replicas were built for sale to the public, but when was the last time you saw one? Nicely restored and a neat piece of Indy history, this ragtop offers more than youd expect. Pace cars are popular collector pieces because they are tied directly to a specific event, and this one makes good use of its long body and bright white paint to show off a complete decal set. The restoration stuck to the factory recipe, using the right colors to make it true to form. Workmanship is quite good, about what youd get if you bought it new, and the white finish has a great shine thats easy to maintain. Everything fits together well, and with that long body and the stainless trim that reaches from end to end, theres really no place for shoddy work to hide on this car. The decals were reproduced exactly and professionally installed, so they fit right and look great with no peeling or checking, and compared to some of the later pace cars, this one is a model of restraint and good taste. Optional fender skirts make it look even longer than it is, and freshly re-plated bumpers sparkle against the bright white paint while highlighting the quality of the other work. A two-tone blue interior was part of the pace car package, and this excellent restoration carries a full Legendary interior that accurately reproduces the factory upholstery. Bucket seats and a console add to the sporty nature of the pace car, which is what youd expect, but it has a luxurious feel that shouldnt be overlooked, either. The Plymouths instrument panel is reminiscent of the early-60s Imperials, with a massive central speedometer and auxiliary gauges and controls below, plus a clock on the center console. Its all very nicely done, and youll find it easy to spend time here, whether in a parade, at a show, our just out for a cruise. A new blue power top with a crystal clear rear window has been recently installed and it comes with a matching blue boot for sunny days. The trunk is downright gigantic, with a correct plaid mat. For powering around the track, the official pace car probably had some serious blasting powder under the hood, and the street versions do just fine with their big block 383 cubic inch V8s. Topped by a 4-barrel carburetor, it makes the kind of effortless power that makes you lean on the pedal just a little harder to feel that seemingly endless rush of torque. Chrysler Turquoise paint, a factory air cleaner, and an original radiator keep the engine bay looking stock, and it looks crisply rendered against the white inner fenders. A great-sounding Flowmaster dual exhaust system surely sounds better than the original pipes, and the 727 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic snaps to attention when you crack the throttle. The undercarriage is remarkably sanitary with lots of new equipment, including a fresh gas tank and recent shocks. Pretty Magnum 500 wheels with trick blue-line tires add just the right 60s flair to this awesome ragtop. Being historically accurate doesnt mean you cant still have fun, and with big block power, this Fury definitely delivers. Call today! Vehicle Information VIN: RM21N0A213440 Stock: 2159-ATL Mileage: 54,759 Color: Limelight Trans: Manual Engine: MPG: Drivetrain: Description This 1970 Plymouth Road Runner isnt going to last long on the showroom floor. They never do. It must be the combination of in-your-face audacity with Limelight Green paint, big block power, and the no-frills attitude that makes these cars so popular year-in and year-out. Dont say we didnt warn you. Chryslers High-Impact colors were the talk of the industry in 1970 and today when you show up in a car like this it gets everyone talking. And yes, this is a correct FJ5 Limelight Green car, restored to as-delivered specs and completely unapologetic about it. It was painted in 1993, but its so well preserved that youd think it was painted much more recently and the finish gets the color exactly right. No metallic, no modern takes on an old favorite, just the bold fluorescent green that practically defined Mopar muscle. And if youre going to attract this kind of attention, youd better get the bodywork right, too, so they took their time to put it together far more carefully than the factory could manage. Not perfect, but you can see the hours of block sanding that went into it before the glowing paint went on. It also got a blacked out hood treatment and a set of proper Road Runner dust trails running down its flanks (experts will note that there is a left side and a right side, and this one was done correctly). Out back theres a Go-Wing above a blacked-out tail panel that amped up the aggression over the 1969 models. Nice chrome bumpers are almost subtle on a car that looks like this and the fine-toothed grille remains in very good condition. The interior is miraculously almost entirely original. Yes, its industrial-strength with a front bench, but it needs no excuses with a 4-speed pistol grip shifter there in the center, proving that it was built for combat. Only the carpets have been replaced, and the reproduction threads use the correct nap and weave for a factory-correct look and the original stuff is so nice that nothing really looks out of place. Its got a full complement of Rallye gauges, including a Tick-Tock-Tach, so the guy specing out the order form knew what he was doing. Newer upgrades include a modern A/C system and an AM/FM/CD stereo head unit neatly grafted into the dash where the Music Master AM unit used to live. The trunk is still wearing its original paint as well as the factory-issued mat thats in remarkably good shape. The 383 cubic inch V8 under the hood has a few choice upgrades to make it reliable, most notably the MSD ignition system, but the heavy-duty torque factory runs like a stocker. The twin-snorkel air cleaner wears correct decals and Hemi Orange paint on the block stands out in sharp contrast to the glowing Limelight Green paint. It starts easily and pulls through all four gears like its trying to escape from something, and the sound from the twin Flowmasters is simply amazing. The underside shows off years of clean living down south, away from the ravages of salt and snow. Handsome Magnum 500 wheels are always a great choice on 1970s muscle and theyre wrapped in fat 14-inch white-letter radials for a sporty look. Not for the faint-of-heart, this high-visibility Mopar more than delivers on the promises made by the outrageous paint job. Like I said, you probably shouldnt be waiting on this one, call now! Looking back, it was an easy, no stress (except for the temporarily lost FedEx with our money in it!), no-hassle transaction, and even kind of fun! But what impressed us the most was, even after the sale, when we had questions about the manuals and extra keys, our e-mail inquiry was answered right away. We truly are having "fun in the sun" with our little roadster. Thanks again for everything!!! Sincerely, Gina & Mike Bishop Thank you for the greetings. Again is nice to deal with professional people. I already told couple of my friends about your store and what kind of service you deliver. I am happy with my purchase and maybe next year I will shop for a car. Definitely, I am going to check Texas Toys. Sincerly, Constantine Anya, This car is a dream. It has the looks to turn heads and the power to whip them back. It was absoltely as advertised. Dealing with Texas Toys was both a delight and satisfying. I will definitely consider your dealership first when I am in the market for another car. Thank you for all your help during this deal. You have been an absolute angel dealing with me. I do appreciate it. Thanks, Steve Dedeaux READ MORE TESTIMONIALS Your Email Address: Best Way to contact: Email Phone Your full Name: Best time to contact : Message:
