This awesome muscle car features a 455 power plant and a 4 Speed manual transmission.This GTO underwent a complete frame off restoration recently, and has only been driven approx. 390 miles since.As you can see from the photos; the restoration took a considerable amount of time and money to complete.This car runs and drives just like it did in 1970. Much research went into this build to make this car as close to the special order Judge it replicates.The period correct 455 V8 is freshly built with a performance cam generating about 420 hp. The engine is true Ram Air.All new black interior with original GTO simulated wood grain dash contrasts sharply with the Orbit Orange exterior.The Muncie M-20 wide ratio four speed transmission has the Judge Hurst T-handle shifter, and shifts perfectly through the gears.Also featuring a 12 inch rear with 4:33:1 gear ratios just like what was used with the 455.This car was also fitted with a new power convertible top, and looks beautiful in black.This car is about as flawless as a 1970 production car. Take a close look at the photos, and you can see the detail. This is a completely rust-free car that just recently arrived from Texas. Included are full PHS documentation showing it was a true 242 GTO Convertible as well as other cool documents.For the 1970 model year the GTO; the old Goat took on a whole new look. Only 3,615 of the cars were convertibles.Styling changes included a total Endura nosepiece with split oval grilles and dual headlamp housings (this new design eliminated the optional hide-away headlamps), creased body sides, a different rear-bumper and tail lamps, and exhaust pipes that exited through a valance panel under the rear bumper. The hood-mounted tachometer and the Rally II wheels remained as available options.The base engine for the 1970 GTO was a four-barrel carbureted 400 rated at 350 hp. Other available engines were the 400 cubic inch Ram Air III and 400 cubic inch Ram Air IV. The Ram Air III was rated at 366 hp and the Ram Air IV was rated at 370 hp. With GM finally lifting the 400 cubic inch corporate engine limit for the intermediate-size cars, new to the 1970 GTO option list was a 455 cubic inch engine rated at 360 hp.The Judge option was once again available with functional Ram Air hood scoops, a rear-deck spoiler, stripe package, and “The Judge” decals.The standard engine for The Judge was the 400 cubic inch Ram Air III while the 400 cubic inch Ram Air IV engine was an option. This car is about as flawless as a 1970 production car. Take a close look at the photos, and you can see the detail. This is a completely rust-free car that just recently arrived from Texas. Included are full PHS documentation showing it was a true 242 GTO Convertible as well as other cool documents. For the 1970 model year the GTO; the old Goat took on a whole new look. Only 3,615 of the cars were convertibles. Styling changes included a total Endura nosepiece with split oval grilles and dual headlamp housings (this new design eliminated the optional hide-away headlamps), creased body sides, a different rear-bumper and tail lamps, and exhaust pipes that exited through a valance panel under the rear bumper. The hood-mounted tachometer and the Rally II wheels remained as available options. The base engine for the 1970 GTO was a four-barrel carbureted 400 rated at 350 hp. Other available engines were the 400 cubic inch Ram Air III and 400 cubic inch Ram Air IV. The Ram Air III was rated at 366 hp and the Ram Air IV was rated at 370 hp. With GM finally lifting the 400 cubic inch corporate engine limit for the intermediate-size cars, new to the 1970 GTO option list was a 455 cubic inch engine rated at 360 hp. The Judge option was once again available with functional Ram Air hood scoops, a rear-deck spoiler, stripe package, and “The Judge” decals. The standard engine for The Judge was the 400 cubic inch Ram Air III while the 400 cubic inch Ram Air IV engine was an option. The functional hood scoops were labeled with “Ram Air” decals for the Ram Air III cars and “Ram Air IV” decals for the Ram Air IV cars. With a matching-numbers powertrain, lots of new equipment, and that familiar '70s performance look, it's no wonder these cars are seeing strong gains in value over the past few years. This Y82 Special Edition was delivered to Witt Pontiac in November of 1977. It only has 300 miles on a complete frame-off restoration done 2013 through May, 2015. It's dressed in fresh starlight black paint and sports Hurst, first edition T -tops. The black seems to highlight not only the aggressive shape, but the many gold-colored details practically leap off the glossy bodywork. And for a car that's coming up on its 40th birthday, this one sure looks good, with super straight flanks that don't even show so much as a parking lot ding and a glossy finish that holds up under close scrutiny. It's got that look that will get every man thinking about hitting the road and and running from "Smokey" A few bubbles under the firebird on the hood seem to be the only issue, and an afternoon spent buffing the hood will probably pay big dividends. Nonetheless, this is a very good-looking car. The tan interior is a more comfortable choice to Bandit's basic black, especially when you pull the T-tops off. The interior is in fantastic condition, with new and very correct uphholstery with exact factory specifications, along with crisply rendered door panels and that cool gold-toned engine-turned instrument panel. Gold seems to be the theme for this '78 SE, because the spokes of the steering wheel are the same color, and as an SE, just about everything was part of the deal, including A/C, power windows, cruise control, and, of course, the T-tops. The A/C uses R134a refrigerant so it's effective today and easy to service and the gauges are in excellent condition with big, easy-to-read markings. An upgraded AM/FM/iPod stereo head unit has been stuffed into the dash and the floors are protected by big heavy-duty rubber mats. The trunk is upholstered in black carpet and extra sound-proofing which give the Trans Am an upscale vibe and help control noise, too. The legendary W72 6.6 litre V8 advertised under the hood still delivers big fun in today's era of 300-horsepower minivans. The engine was rebuilt in February and runs superbly and thanks to much time out of the engine bay, it's quite nicely detailed, too. The block wears correct corporate blue engine enamel, and the big hood scoop still inhales through a separate hose, not the scoop itself. Lots of new components ensure a great driving experience, a list of parts several pages long. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that never seems to mind dropping down a gear when you get heavy on the throttle. The soundtrack is quite thrilling thanks to a recent Flowmaster dual exhaust system underneath. The chassis is quite clean, which comes courtesy of a life lived in the warm, dry climate of Texas, and even the gorgeous "snowflake" alloy wheels show littlesigns of age. Documented with tons of receipts for the extensive restoration work plus the original window sticker and PHS paperwork, this is a high-quality T/A that was built to enjoy while it appreciates. Check out my store for more great Unique and Classic Cars. This is a complete car and is a great car to start with if you want a great car when you are finished. Everything is here on this car. The motor was a running motor but has been sitting a long time and I'm not sure what it would take to get it running. It is missing the air cleaner on top but other then that it is ready to go. It does have the 6.6L 400 Engine which is the one you want in these and it also has the 4-Speed Manual Transmission which is also prefered in these. This is the right car to fix up if you want something to be worth the most when you are done. The exterior of this car is clean and not all beat up. The body is straight on this car and there isn't much for rust. It does have the usual rust starting on the panels behind the wheels which is very typical for these cars. I just love these dual snorkel hoods of the Formula Cars. The front end is cracked and missing a grill insert. There is a little damage to the back bumper but other then that it is not to far from being ready for some paint and get this car looking real good. Options: Manual 4-Speed Transmission 6.6L 400 Dual Snorkel Hood Red Vinyl Interior The interior is in good condition on this car. It has the red interior which goes great with the grey exterior. The vinyl seats in the front do have some rips and tears in them but are not terrible and the back seats don't have any signs of wear and barely look like they were sat in. The carpets do have some stains and a couple wear spots. The dash has some cracks which is very common on these. This is a complete car inside and out that is just in need of restoration. This is a nice complete project car that just needs some restoration and you will have yourself a very nice classic car that is worth some money. This is a 1976 Pontiac Trans Am 50th Anniversary Edition car with a 455 motor and 4-speed manual transmission. Check out my store for more great Unique and Classic Cars. Make sure and check out the Video below. This car is a 50th Anniversary model of Pontiac. It has the factory gold package. It came with a factory 455 engine that has been rebuilt but has never been fired over since then. This was the last year that they offered the 455 in these cars from the factory. This is the first model of the Y-84 or "declared" cars that they made. Most came with factory Hurst T-Tops but some did not and this is one of them. The body on this car is very straight and clean. There is no rust on this car. There is two spots on the roof where the paint peeled and there is surface rust but nothing major. There is no dents on the car. This car is in very little need of restoration especially on the outside. The interior of this car is actually in pretty good shape. It has the black seats with the red trim. The front seats do show some wear but the back seats are in great shape. The carpet is all still here and looks great. The headliner is beautiful. It has the dark gold on the steering wheel and the matching gold trim on the dash. This was all part of the special package. This car even came with factory A/C. If you are looking for an ultra rare car to start or add to a collection. Or something you don't have to do much work on at all this is the car for you.
