Up for Auction - A Barn Find 1967 912. This was manufactured in 1966 for the 1967 Market. VIN # 458567 . Original color Light Ivory. This was an original 5 gauge Porsche 912. I do have a nice set of original 1966/1967 dated green face gauges that are included in the auction. There is no engine, but there is a nice 901 5 speed gearbox that is included with this auction. The gearbox was removed from a running car years back and has been stored inside since. All of the Vin Plates and punched numbers are correct and in their original unmolested locations. I saved this car and will actually make a good restoration candidate 912 / 911 Hot Rod / 911/912 parts car. It obviously needs a complete new floor pan. A new complete pan is $900, it also needs rear seat bottom tin. Usual rust spots. The front clip, rear clip and tunnel appear to be solid. All suspension points appear to be decent as this car was a tub and last week I bolted the suspension back under it. The coupe top was removed at some point in the cars history.. I did find a donor coupe top that comes fairly close to fitting on this car. Please understand it will need a professional metal worker to fit and finish the roof. Aside from the floor being gone and the rear seat bottoms, the car is fairly solid, especially at suspension / torsion areas, but still a project non the less. Vin# 129022111. Odometer Displays 4,962 Miles. Irish Green. Green Interior with Hounds Tooth Seats. This 1969 “Shamrock” is considered to be part of the most desirable models of the 912 era. It was the first year for Porsche to introduce to the world long wheelbase cars, with sadly ending the rein of the long hood 4-cylinder rockets. According to the previous owner, a full restoration on this car was completed in 2013 and the car traveled less than 3,000 miles since. The car was completely stripped down and everything was removed. The body was sanded down and then prepared and repainted with the original color of Irish Green. Everything that was removed was sent out to be refurbished professionally, or replaced with new OEM parts. All aluminum trim pieces were removed and sent out and re-done. All trims and seals were replaced and new front windshield was installed. New horns and grills, new headlights, new tail lights lens and turn signal lens was all installed. The interior was completely redone in dark green color. New perforated leather and hounds tooth seats were installed. New door panels, headliner, carpets, and dash were also added. Brake pedal cluster was rebuilt with new brass bushings and repainted. New shifter bushing. All gauges were removed, checked, cleaned and repainted. Each and every bolt and nut for the engine and suspension was taken out and cab plated or zinc plated. All brake lines were replaced. Each and every part that was removed has been powder coated, such as hood hinges, deck lid hinges, A arms, spring plate, the complete suspension and all engine sheet metal pieces. Even the air cleaners were powder coated in glass shine finish. The engine was completely rebuilt with a 86mm big bore kit. All new gasket sets, new rod bearings, and new rings, valve job, new clutch disc, pressure plate trout bearing. The Solex carburetors were replaced with Webers and the original Knecht air cleaners were refurbished and reinstalled. The transmission is a 5 speed. It was open cleaned and checked. It shifts smoothly through all gears like it should. The front and rear suspensions were rebuilt with all new bushing, new shocks, front and rear, new brakes all around, new brake lines and hoses, new tires, front and rear.The fuchs wheels are flat 6j x 15, and they were polished and painted. Overall, this great looking 912 “Shamrock” runs and drives extremely well, with a comprehensive restoration job that speaks for itself. 1976 Porsche 912e Original Light Yellow (117), black interior. Late May '76 model. Only 74,000 original miles. Numbers matching, rust-free, no-accident, non-molested. Southern California car. These are becoming increasingly hard to find in original, solid condition. Only 2100 made, less than half that many left. It had been owned by a collector, recently brought out of storage and freshened up. Still had most, if not all of, the original factory parts installed. Mechanically and cosmetically rebuilt, the car was inspected and thoroughly gone through by the best Porsche techs who know these cars intricately. Everything tested from front to back, top to bottom, and refreshed with genuine Porsche/OEM parts where needed, retaining much of the original where possible. This car represents one of those times. I bought this car from a kindly older gentleman in Austin, Texas in the Summer of 2014. At the time I bought it, it had a VW engine in it, it had no brakes, it had multiple rust holes in the pan and its tattered black carpeting had been screwed to the floor pan (yes, there were actual screws holding the carpet to the pan ... ugggggghhh). However, being the left handed maniac that I am, I saw no pitfalls - only potential. Magnificent, magnificent potential. Being the adventurous sort (and lacking any semblance of common sense), I bought the car. And, at that precise moment, the "trouble" began. And by "trouble" I mean a car that needed virtually everything replaced. And by everything, I really do mean everything. After completing these repairs, I can honestly state that this 912 is ALMOST NEW and is about as good as it could ever be. While it is not perfect, its mechanical performance is impeccable. In fact, the mechanics are so good that if the car is purchased at the "Buy It Now" prince then I will sell the car with a "buy it back" guaranty. Please ask me for the details on this guaranty. PLEASE NOTE: The car does not currently have its original engine. However, I have the original engine and am in the process of reassembling it. If the car is purchased at the "Buy It Now" price then the original engine (in long block form without carbs, engine tin or peripherals) will accompany the car. A restored example of a 912 that is turn key and ready to enjoy. Matching numbers. Comes with COA. Exterior: The car was completely dismantled and bead blasted to bare metal in 2012. It was repainted in it’s original color, Bitter Chocolate (408, T3T3). Have 40+ color photos of a documented restoration in 2012. It has always been garaged and shows as in like new condition. Free of any damage, no dings, no dents, no scratches, no prior accidents and no rust. The glass appears to be all original with no cracks. Comes with 2 sets of factory Fuchs wheels, both in excellent condition (original option for the model 14’s with matching brown centers and a set of 15’s). Delivered on 3/29/69. Many records for the car dating all the way back to 1969. Including the original red plastic Maintenance Record book from Porsche. Paint Code: 63-6803-H Ossi Blue Original paint in the door jambs, car has been repainted Blue many years ago. Paint is driver quality and looks very good five feet away but close examination shows scratches, checking, and some chips in the front. This car is a time warp. Original carpets and original headliner. Even the interior smell of the car takes you back to 1969. This is not a showcar, this is a car that has been driven and enjoyed. Hopefully this car will find a home with somebody who will continue to drive it, just like it was designed to do. CHASSIS- How much RUST??? We all know that every old 911/912 has rust. One of the worst places to find rust is around the rear torsion bar tube area. This car shows NO rust around the rear torsion bar tubes. Quite often rust is found in the rocker panel area and the bottom of the front fenders – this car is solid in both areas. I am not going to say there is no rust but I can assure you that there is not the type of rust that is typically found in many of these cars. The car was repainted many years ago, if they would have painted over rust there would be signs of the rust coming thru the paint, no signs of rust are visible in the paint.
