Up for sale is my Porsche 944. I bought this car for the intention of tracking it and making it sp2 spec. I just can't find time to work on it and to clear some money up. When I first bought the car it had a oil and coolant issue. I tore the head off and got it checked for cracks along with the head gasket getting looked at and it came back fine. I never checked the oil cooler seal which is mostly the main cause with these cars. Also it may have been a bent valve as the balance shaft belt wast put on properly and had a rip. But I came across another engine for sale and I bought it. It's not assembled but it is all machined and ready to be put back together and put in. All of the work was done by Lindsey Racing. I have the recipe to show. The only thing that is needed is the main engine bearings and then the bell housing on the back but the bell housing could be used off the engine in the vehicle. So what you are getting is two engines. The original engine is still in the car and like I said it might be something small to fix I just saw the opportunity on this one and took it. So you also have a brand new machined engine still wrapped in the plastic properly stored in a climate control room. So with the machined engine it comes with all of the gaskets for the job victor reinz. Lindsey racing piston rings. A new timing belt and looks to be barely used balance shaft belt. It also has the fuel rails and injectors. It has the cold air intake assembly as well. I also have boxes and bins with 944 parts in them that will be included. With the interior I got it gutted right now to the bottom it just has some glue residue. I do have the original seats that will be included but have their rips in them. You will also get a set of cookie cutter wheels with the set of lug nuts for them. They are in good condition. I also have to front bumpers/valences the red one and one that I got with the car. It appeared that someone got flat black paint and didn't do a good job taping up but I was using paint remover and it was coming right off as seen on the mirrors and door panels. It was repainted to a single stage white. Originally was blue. Could see some blue here and there. Overall this a great candidate to make a track car or even throw interior back in and have it stock with a brand new engine that just has to be reassembled. So what you get is the 944, two engines, and two sets of wheels. I'm looking for $4500 but open to offers. Worst I can say is no. If there is any questions you could reach me at 570-877-2524

The first Widerstandsfahig is a race version that can never be used on the street which makes this beauty particularly valuable. Only the second Widerstandsfahig on the planet. Again, part of a very limited production. Please take a few minutes to visit the website and familiarize yourself with the design concept. This fine gentleman took great care of this Turbo 944 as shown in the condition of the interior. I drove the car on occasion until it entered the shop late August for the customization. In addition to the Widebody a few major maintenance items were taken care of to make this car worry free for the next owner. First, a new water pump. Then a new timing set and belts. A new battery and serpentine belt complete the under hood work. New rear brake pads and fresh rotors were installed out back. The instrument cluster has been replaced with one having a working odometer. Mileage reads around 72K. The actual mileage was said to be at 120k by the previous owner. You will receive over 90 pages of documented service history with this beauty including the ORIGINAL PURCHASE ORDER! Because those of us that play with custom cars always change the wheels to suit our flavor, the twists pictured are not included in the sale. They're usually cars with high sticker prices that depreciated quickly, like the Mercedes SL. Porsche's 944 is another: everywhere on Craigslist for $5000 with worn paint and not running, spectacular specimens are few and far between. This car is one of the exceptions, with a nice service history, good cosmetics, and only 69,575 original miles. Study this car's lines, and consider its contemporaries: The 300ZX, the RX-7, the Mitsubishi Starion...and notice how relevant the 944 still is today. There aren't any tacky add-ons, the wheels are nicely placed in their wheel wells, and the shape is surprisingly contemporary. As for condition, the burgundy finish has been repainted at some point and looks great, giving Porsche's wedge-shaped sports car an elegant look that disguises its intentions. It's not perfect, of course, but you don't see cars this nice very often and Porsche's build quality stands out with the deep shine and good panel gaps. The taillights are a deep red, indicating proper storage indoors and the rear hatch hasn't de-laminated (a common 944 issue). Even today, folks will look at this car and assume that it costs thousands more than it does. Inside, you'll be amazed at the amount of room up front. The rear seats can handle medium-sized kids for short trips, but put the fronts all the way back and six footers can stretch their legs out straight. There's even helmet room should you decide that autocrossing or doing track days is in your future. An AM/FM/cassette Blaupunkt looks to be original equipment, since Porsche was only offering tape decks in 1987. The original steering wheel has a thick leather covering that matches the interior and shows only modest signs of use but no dryness or cracking. The upholstery is burgundy leather with grippy cloth inserts all in great condition and matching the exterior. The shifter boot shows some wear, but otherwise the interior remains in first class condition and remarkably, the center console is in perfect shape with no extra holes, since many original owners had car phones installed. In back, the hatch area is fully carpeted and doesn't show fading, a remarkable feat given the red carpets. And while you're back there, check out the original tool kit, air compressor, spare tire, and jack set, extras that rarely survived the years, especially in such great shape. Under the hood is nothing but good news. The 944's 2.5 liter all-aluminum four cylinder has timing belts, and it's bad news when they fail. The good news is that this car's belts were done recently, so it's ready to rock. Properly maintained, these engines will run for hundreds of thousands of miles, and this one is a good one with a smooth idle and plenty of torque from the rather large displacement. The engine bay looks like someone cared about maintenance and while it appears complex, you'll find that taking care of a 944 isn't all that difficult. The undercarriage is dry, dry, dry and with just under 70,000 actual miles on the clock this 944 feels years younger thanks to solid engineering and the entire package feels a lot more contemporary than you'd expect. The wheels are proper 15x7 "phone dial" aluminum pieces surrounded by correctly-sized 215/60/15 Pirelli P4000 radials. The 944 is forgiving for beginners and a real treat for seasoned drivers. A slick-shifting transmission, great steering, nimble power, amazing build quality and classic lines adds up to a truly great package. The S2 also came with the smoother bodywork from the 944 Turbo, as well as its larger brakes. The Cabriolet was only offered for 1990 and 1991, before they switched over to the 968. Only 2402 944 S2 Cabriolets came to the USA during the two-year production run.This one is quite likely the nicest one you will find available. It has been owned and serviced locally, and is a well-known car by the local Porsche techs and aficionados. Sold new with a sticker price of $56,342 ($102k+ in today’s dollars, adjusted for inflation) by Scottsdale Porsche Audi on March 31st, 1990 to a Mr. and Mrs. Johns of Lake Havasu City, AZ, the car would remain in their care as their sparingly used garage queen until 2010, when it was sold with only 11k miles to its second owner, a businessman and Porsche enthusiast from nearby Flagstaff, AZ. Over the course of the second owner’s four year tenure, he accrued a mere 1,000 miles of additional use and had Scottsdale Porsche replace the all-important timing belt and perform the preemptive 15k mile service, amongst a litany of other associated dealer-performed services. Each of the car’s two doting owners always ensured that the car was exceptionally well cared for, always keeping it garaged and maintained and always using it sparingly as a prized occasional driver.
