If you would like to learn more about these cars click here! This car only weighs 1500 pounds. This is the early "bread van" style body and was produced for only a couple years and is rare and desirable for this reason. These cars were actually the first prototype for the popular Ford GT and designed by Colin Chapman. This car handles EXTREMELY well. Has a solid under belly and doesn't have any of the Ohio rust as it has been stored indoors. This car is what we call a 20 footer..it looks amazing from 20 feet away..but could really use some paint and love. Car has the Renault engine with a rebuilt Weber carb and KN style filter. Has an electric fuel pump and was just tuned up with new plugs and wires. Has new exhaust. Has a new water pump. A new radiator and new later style cooling fan. AND the power windows work. The car starts easily..shifts well and stops great. Has new carpet and extra ignition points in the glove box. Rebuilt brakes, including master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, front brake pads and a new line to the master cylinder. A new clutch cable has been installed as well as a new pedal assembly. Has This car is VERY dependable. It always starts and can easily be your eye catching head turning daily driver. 52,633 ACTUAL miles. All lights and gauges working except the gas and speedometer gauge. Car comes with an EXTRA new fuel tank but it is for the passenger side of the car. The current tank has been patched with epoxy. This car has a rear wheel bent that will cause some wobble when you are above 40 MPH. The seats will need to be redone or replaced. The tracks in them are deteriorated and will not adjust. I am 5'8 and have no trouble reach pedals..so 5'8 plus will be able to drive this car. Bottom line. This car could easily be a daily driver with a little work or a show car with a little more work. After a good stint in California mark moved to South Dakota with his bus to become a professional snow boarder whilst there it was garage kept as the climate was different from the sunny state of California,then mark to store the bus and use a 4x4 to get around that's where's it stayed laid up for ten years so after some long chats back and fourth a deal was finally struck and I acquired the bus to my delight....once the full amount was raised I had it shipped to the UK and sat back and looked at and pondered what to do and what direction to take it.... I am an Industrial Designer and I have owned this car 21+ years. In that time I have enjoyed completing an extensive restoration.Stored in a climate controlled garage. Never driven winters.This car was in the first two wheels and wings auto shows in Vail, Colorado. Runs great, just add gas!THIS IS NOT a car that has been languishing in somebody's wet garage because it won't start or in storage under a tarp untouched since the early 80s. In profile the front door is the largest single aspect and the relationship between door cutouts and roofline is the dominant feature. Prius c mixes the door shape of the regular Prius and its high point at the middle pillar, with a taller roofline reminiscent of the Prius v to better meld into the hatchback tail. That pinched rear door corner might be an issue but taller individuals will be exercising care entering anyway. Every model of the c we examined has signal repeaters in the outside mirrors, a plus in tight spaces or where sunlight might obscure the front signal. These are mounted on the lower outer edge and are the widest point of the car, but they cannot be seen from the driver's seat; be mindful trying to navigate a drive-up window or narrow opening between garage pillars and other cars. At the rear the bodywork above the mid-section angles rearward, surrounding a large shiny section covered in clear plastic with one big red reflector on it. From some angles and certain colors the body looks like it leans backward a la Renault Megane, and the arches that carry over the wheels and around the rear resemble a bustle back or Harley cruiser fender. It is at once the most distinctive element and the most awkward. The rear lights employ LED for brake lights, conventional bulbs for taillights, and amber bulbs behind a clear lens for signals. With circles and triangles and parallelograms in the various elements there's no theme but the brake lights do garner better reaction from inattentive drivers behind. The Prius c Three may be optioned with alloy wheels that resist rusting and look better than the standard steel wheels. The 16-inch wheels optional on Prius c Four improve looks and handling at the expense of a slight decrease in mileage (though not enough to affect EPA ratings) and less steering lock. Cargo access is straightforward and a temporary-use spare is under the floor. Any flat tire will go in the well but the cargo floor won't be flat. Source: New Car Test Drive Driving Impression Prius c is all about fuel economy and low emissions; as far as we know, it has the highest EPA ratings of any car without a plug. The basics of the propulsion system parallel those of the Prius on a smaller scale. Power comes from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine coupled with a pair of electric motors and a 144-volt, 0.87-kilowatt hour battery pack beneath the rear seat. Each of the electric motors serves a different function and the computer that runs it all sends a maximum of 99 total horsepower to the wheels, yielding a power-to-weight ratio similar to the bigger Prius. Performance is not the priority and Toyota quotes a conservative 0-60 time of 11.5 seconds. We routinely did it in the middle-10s, however, about what we get from the big Prius. Those figures are not quick by anyone's stopwatch. Any slower and we'd need to a calendar. However, in traffic, we never found ourselves lacking power to keep up comfortably. Prius c will run up to 1.5 miles on battery alone while staying under 25 mph with a very light foot, and we managed half a mile of moderate hills and start/stop before the gasoline engine came on with 1 of 8 bars showing in the battery state of charge gauge (each bar equals about 1/10 of a kilowatt-hour). Usually traffic, acceleration or speed got the gas engine participating much sooner. An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) doesn't work the way most CVTs do but the results are similar. To keep engine and electric motor speeds in the most efficient range for the performance the driver asks for, the speeds are variable, so mashing the gas pedal will result in engine revs and noise that don't let up until you back off the gas. At full throttle it is normal for the Prius c to sound like a ski boat pulling a skier up. EPA ratings peg the mileage at 53/46 mpg City/Highway, or 50 mpg Combined. We averaged 50 mpg in mixed driving. A hyper-miler proudly broke 70 mpg, but the resulting driving style showed a lack of consideration and angered and frustrated other drivers. It's worth noting we can achieve 32 mpg in a 1-ton 4WD pickup using hyper-miler techniques. Despite our 50 mpg average we posted data display eco scores of just 16 to 33 out of 100. Let's hope Prius c drivers don't try to achieve perfect scores, at least not when they're in front of us. By comparison, a regular Prius gets an EPA-rated 51/48 mpg City/Highway, with the same 50 mpg Combined rating. The advantage in city mileage for the Prius c can be attributed primarily to its lighter weight, a smaller gas engine and lighter wheels and tires than used on the regular Prius. At higher speeds, the superior aerodynamics of the Prius account for its better highway economy (a longer car is easier to make aerodynamic). If you drive efficiently, using the onboard display or merely your brain, the Prius c achieves better mileage in slower conditions. Hybrids rarely achieve EPA-estimated numbers at the higher speeds of freeways and interstates due to aerodynamic drag. If you spend more miles driving at freeway speeds or if you haul around a lot of people (which will have less effect on the big car's performance than the smaller one's), then you'd be better off saving up the extra money for the Prius. The Prius c brake pedal triggers regeneration wherein the drivetrain uses the car's momentum to recharge the battery pack. For max economy you want to touch the pedal just enough to engage this function (and the brake lights); a hard press of the pedal engages the wheel brakes and your momentum, and the fuel that created it, is converted to heat. This is why the brake pedal feels light and touchy, a feeling you can learn to use to achieve peak efficiency. Prius c shares some background with the Yaris and it rides and handles much the same as most compact cars. Suspension design is chosen with maximum cabin space in mind. With room for four or five, a 17 cubic-foot cargo area, a battery pack and a 9.5-gallon gas tank, in this footprint Toyota has succeeded. The Prius c has a solid ride, approaching bouncy only on bad roads. It stays relatively flat in corners because the weight is kept low, and it goes where you point it. Ultimate grip levels are low because of its slim tires designed for low rolling resistance, but the handling is predictable and fine for novice drivers. Sixteen-inch alloy wheels are available on the Prius c Four, a wider, low-profile version of the Bridgestone Turanza tires all Prius c models come with. The 16-inch wheels and tires produce more cornering and braking power with no big detriment to ride quality, but they also change the steering settings. Despite wider tires the steering feels lighter than on the 15-inch wheels and it's quicker, but the 16-inch wheels don't turn nearly as tightly: it goes from 31.4 feet needed for a U-turn to 37.4 feet, the space many mid-size sedans and crossovers need. That's a big difference. We recommend the 15-inch wheels and tires. Heavy acceleration up an on-ramp brings engine noise. Once at cruising speed most noise comes from wind or the road. It's not loud but reinforces the notion this is primarily a city runabout. There is a fan for the battery pack on the left rear floor but even in hard driving we never heard it; we do hear it occasionally on the big Prius, either because that's a quieter car or the fan inlet is up higher and noisier. Source: New Car Test Drive Interior The Prius c cabin is a little more interesting than the exterior, though we wouldn't call it daring. There's no ground-breaking news here, just some unusual design, styles and level of standard features. Front seats are roomy and offer enough headroom for adults measuring six feet and even taller. Comfort was fine, as we drove the car for hour-long stints with no complaints or sore spots. Fabric upholstery is never too hot or cold to sit on, and on most models the driver's seat adjusts for height. Note, however, that no model has adjustable height shoulder belt anchors and a tall passenger was not comfortable with the belt across their upper arm. It can be tough to fit three adults across the back, so it's best to limit backseat passengers to two adults or three kids. Lanky testers were also able to fit in back, even with the optional sunroof, and carrying four simultaneously results in some tight knee space. The seat cushion is unusually long because of the batteries beneath it, which improves comfort for adults but might be uncomfortable for kids who can't hang their legs off the front of it. The rear seat folds to increase cargo area, and on any but the base model, it has a 60/40 split for flexibility. Materials are mostly plastic with a few padded soft-touch panels, all expected in this class. Initially the styling lines on the dashboard looked like scratches, though they do mirror some of the lines in the optional SofTex upholstery that weighs about half what traditional leather weighs. That alone should tell you how important weight reduction was in this car. A tilt and telescoping steering wheel with redundant controls faces the driver, though the range of the telescope function is so short we wonder why they bothered. Ahead of the wheel is a depression for pens and such with a ramp backwards to ease scooping things out that also makes them eject automatically accelerating up a hill. The floor-mounted shifter is conventional, with PRNDB settings; all do what you expect and B is for battery (see Driving Impressions). Eco and EV mode switches are adjacent the handbrake aft of the shift lever. Instrumentation is in a narrow display from the top of the wheel to the right edge of the center vents. It has a digital speedometer, fuel level, a couple of indicator lights and nothing else. To the right is the multi-information display that provides fuel and energy data in numerous ways, and on upper trims, momentarily overlays which steering wheel button has been pressed. Below the display are the center vents, the radio or navigation screens, and below that in the lateral teardrop, climate controls. Upper trims have the Start/Stop pushbutton left of this, while lower levels have a molded circle that very obviously shows this model is missing something. A power point hides below the climate panel, and the USB/aux inputs are to the right adjacent a tray above the glovebox. This is easy to reach but means you can't leave things plugged in and concealed, and the test cars showed the limitations of the shallow tray because all the smartphones were kept from flying off the shelf by hook-and-loop fasteners. The glovebox is fairly deep. Bluetooth and steering wheel controls for it are standard on every Prius c, while the top two models get Entune, Toyota's telematics system. Entune comes with Bing, Pandora, stocks, sports, traffic, and weather, and will add iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com and OpenTable. The audio system that goes with navi/Entune cars also includes XM Radio, HD Radio with iTunes tagging, iPod connectivity and control and Bluetooth wireless streaming. Entune services access is complimentary for three years, much longer than most similar services. Note you may not be able to operate everything while underway. With its low-profile dashboard and narrow windshield pillars Prius c is open, airy and easy to see out of. Only the outer rear headrests are full-size, so rearward visibility is good as well. The Prius c has an unusual airbag arrangement. Front, front-side and side-curtains for front and back are typical, but there's also a driver's knee airbag and front seat cushion airbags that ensure occupants are best positioned for the front and side airbags to work. Rear seat side airbags are not available, and in most cases shouldn't be used with youngsters anyway. So, if you're willing to limit your time travel to something that's more akin to a time capsule, step into the realm of this stunning DMC-12 where, as John Z. DeLorean put it, "unique is a virtue"! Production of 'The DeLorean' was a direct result of many automotive forces combining their skills to create something universally beneficial. In America, Detroit visionary John Z. DeLorean had quickly climbed the ranks of Chrysler, Packard and General Motors in hopes of establishing his own automotive entity. In Italy, world-renowned stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro was in the midst of introducing a crisp design language dubbed 'folded paper'. And in the UK, storied Lotus founder Colin Chapman was looking for engineering work to fund his troubled automotive boutique. In 1975, DeLorean officially chartered the DeLorean Motor Company. By 1976, he had a running prototype of the 'Z Tavio', an innovative coupe that would be offered to the public for roughly $12K. In 1978, DeLorean Motor Company broke ground on its first factory in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland. And in 1981, with the help of Giugiaro and Chapman, the DMC-12 was officially introduced. DMC's sensational coupe takes shape thanks to Glass Reinforced Plastic that's cloaked in brushed, 304-grade stainless. The idea was to create a profile that wouldn't chip, fade or blemish. And, knowing stainless is notoriously hard to re-shape, DeLorean made sure every panel could be replaced as needed. Designed to be both fun and efficient, that profile achieves a super slick .35 Coefficient of Drag. Noise and vibrations are isolated via Lotus-developed polyurethane foam. And plastic, body-matched bumpers ensure years of low-speed durability. This particular DMC-12 differs from typical low-mileage examples in that its current owner conducted a $30K update which was designed to address known durability issues. That means you can purchase this showroom-fresh gem with the confidence of knowing everything, from its fresh tires to its re-grained steel, is right, tight and ready to roll! A late 1982 build that was actually assembled by Consolidated International, this car represents the very best of what Dunmurry had to offer. And, as a fully-sorted garage queen that's only seen three owners, it's one of the nicest DeLoreans on the planet! At the front of its body, a freshly painted valence hangs clear headlights, amber parking lamps and a familiar, "DMC" branded grille over a wind-cheating spoiler. At the top of that grille, a '82-exclusive hood founds a '82-exclusive "DeLorean" script in front of dark-tint glass and functional engine louvers. At the sides of those louvers, freshly striped fenders center power, partitioned windows between sporty hash marks and clean "DMC" call-outs. And at the back of the car, a second freshly painted valence centers new taillights above small stainless exhaust tips. During the DMC-12's development, engineers considered a variety of powerplants. For example, DeLorean's original prototype utilized a Citroen rotary mill. When that engine went out of production, Ford's Cologne V6 was heavily considered. But, ultimately, the 2.85 litre Peugeot Renault Volvo V6 was chosen for its combination of performance and durability. Utilizing aluminum construction, overhead camshafts and 2 valves per cylinder, this proven powerplant turns smooth 8.8 to 1 compression into a 130 horsepower and 162 lb./ft. torque. And, despite moving a relatively heavy payload, those respectable numbers provide great fuel economy! Aesthetically, everything on this PRV, from its stock internals to its Bosch fuel injection, reflects a history of fastidious maintenance. Twist the key and the cylinders rumble to life, sending their rhythmic notes through a subtle exhaust system. And with one tap of the throttle, the engine zings smoothly toward redline. Take a look under this factory-spec cruiser and you'll find straight, freshly-sorted mechanicals that are clean and weather-free. Originally intended as a mid-engine platform, the DeLorean ultimately slid its V6 rearward to accommodate a 3-speed Peugeot Renault Volvo transaxle. The car's body rides on a 2-piece Glass Reinforced Plastic monocoque that's mated to a Lotus-inspired double-Y chassis. That chassis' fully independent suspension combines speed proportional rack and pinion steering with two 10-inch rotors, two 10.5-inch rotors and four power-assisted calipers. Exhaust rolls through stainless steel pipes that, like the car's stainless exterior and epoxied chassis, were built with ultimate durability in mind. At the corners of the floor, a-symmetrical alloys spin 195/60R14 Falken Ziex ZE-912s in front of 225/60R15 Falken Ziex ZE-912s. And, if you're a stickler for absolute authenticity, the car's original Goodyear NCTs ARE included with our sale. DMC offered strictly monochromatic leather inside their futuristic creation and, accordingly, this 12's clean cabin is decked in factory-fresh gray. Hoist the LED-lit doors and a plush driving environment kicks off with a pair of comfy buckets that were specifically designed to accommodate the 6'4" stature of creator John DeLorean. In front of those buckets, a pliable dash anchors correct 80 MPH gauges above electronic climate control and a modern Pioneer CD player. Below that dash, a stitched leather console centers a decidedly 80s shifter and factory power window switches on fresh carpet that's protected by "DMC" branded floor mats. Opposite that console, padded side panels hang controls for both power mirrors and power door locks above sculpted armrests and small pull straps. Above those panels, a new headliner frames small reading lamps and a self-dimming mirror. In front of the driver, a leather-wrapped, 3-spoke steering wheel laps a fully adjustable column. Behind the passengers, a small cargo hold features a requisite Flux Capacitor. And in front of the cockpit, a forward-tilt bonnet reveals four cubic feet of storage space. 1988 Nissan Pao Limited Edition Japanese Domestic Market Car 127,000 original kilometers = 79,000 original miles Very original example with accessories Up for auction is a car you don't often see in the United States. In the mid 1980's Nissan celebrated opening it's new "Pike" factory by making and selling 4 different limited edition retro cars based on existing Nissan Micra and Sentra models. To purchase this car you had to reserve a car a special Nissan Cherry Store from January 15th to April 14th 1988 and then wait for your car to be built. This car is the second in the series. It is more "retro" than the first car, the Be-1, as well as more usable with it's 2 piece hatch back with fold down tailgate. The car evokes the original mini with it's exposed door hinges, the Renault 4 with it's basic shape and flat (almost windshield), the Citroen 2CV with it's corrugated sides and 2 piece horizontally split rear seat windows. Inside it's the same with a flat body colour painted dashboard, quasi military looking radio, and simple single analog round speedometer. This example sports the rare manual transmission, with the rare khaki paint, and the rare hardtop, instead of a power canvas sunroof. The car is 25 years old with 79,000 miles. There is wear evident with that much use on the car. It runs and drives fine, but the tires are an older matching set with more age than tread wear, the driver's door pins need new bushings, and the brakes are a little squeaky sometimes(new pads were recently installed and I don't know if it's a bedding in issue, or the fact that the pads did not come with shims to help squeaks and rattles). You cannot see it in the pics but on the right side of the vehicle under the rear seat window there is patch of clear coat that has peeled about the size and shape of a football. From 10 feet away it completely blends in. The radio has been converted so that it gets North American frequencies (Japan uses 76-90 for it's FM), but dial still shows the Japanese frequencies. I also have the car for sale locally and reserve the right to end it due to a local sale. The car is registered in Washington State in my name. Washington state will allow you to keep the car registered in Washington even with an out of state license, meaning you will keep Washington plates on it and renew your tabs through the mail if you wish to do it that way. It has the 2.7L PRV engine in it which is a collaboration motor that Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo all went in on. It is a powerful motor and was only put in certain car. Then you add the fact that this car is a 5-Speed Manual with Overdrive which was a rare option and this car is sweet. This is a rare car that you don't see many of. This is a 1 Owner Car and has low miles at 113K Original. This car spent most of it's life in Europe and was a Special Ordered Diplomat Car. The previous owner kept all the manuals and even filled out all the mileage and locations. He even had all the service manuals for the car which is very cool but these do not go with the car. You can tell he really cared for this car. The car is very fun to drive and just cruises down the road. Under the hood and undercarriage are clean and dry as can be. Make sure to watch the video I do a complete walk around of the car inside and out and even take it on a test drive. This is a 1 Owner Car The exterior of this car is beautiful. It is silver in color and has a very nice shine to it. It is starting to fade on the top surfaces but nothing major and the car still looks great. All of the chrome and trim are very nice and clean on the car and the chrome just shines in the sun. This car is straight as can be and you can tell it was definitely cared for over the years. It has a very nice set of Aftermarket Factory 15" Volvo Wheels on it which I'm not sure if came on the car or were added afterwards. Either way the look great. It has a very nice set of Pirelli Tires that are fairly new and I would say have about 90% tread left. These are very nice tires that have a lot of miles left on them and even still have the titties on the side. It has the 2.7L PRV engine in it which is a collaboration motor that Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo all went in on. It is a powerful motor and was only put in certain car. Then you add the fact that this car is a 5-Speed Manual with Overdrive which was a rare option and this car is sweet. This is a rare car that you don't see many of. This is a 1 Owner Car and has low miles at 113K Original. This car spent most of it's life in Europe and was a Special Ordered Diplomat Car. The previous owner kept all the manuals and even filled out all the mileage and locations. He even had all the service manuals for the car which is very cool but these do not go with the car. You can tell he really cared for this car. The car is very fun to drive and just cruises down the road. Under the hood and undercarriage are clean and dry as can be. Make sure to watch the video I do a complete walk around of the car inside and out and even take it on a test drive. This is a 1 Owner Car The exterior of this car is beautiful. It is silver in color and has a very nice shine to it. It is starting to fade on the top surfaces but nothing major and the car still looks great. All of the chrome and trim are very nice and clean on the car and the chrome just shines in the sun. This car is straight as can be and you can tell it was definitely cared for over the years. It has a very nice set of Aftermarket Factory 15" Volvo Wheels on it which I'm not sure if came on the car or were added afterwards. Either way the look great. It has a very nice set of Pirelli Tires that are fairly new and I would say have about 90% tread left. These are very nice tires that have a lot of miles left on them and even still have the titties on the side. So, if you're willing to limit your time travel to something that's more akin to a time capsule, step into the realm of this stunning DMC-12 where, as John Z. DeLorean put it, "unique is a virtue"! Production of 'The DeLorean' was a direct result of many automotive forces combining their skills to create something universally beneficial. In America, Detroit visionary John Z. DeLorean had quickly climbed the ranks of Chrysler, Packard and General Motors in hopes of establishing his own automotive entity. In Italy, world-renowned stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro was in the midst of introducing a crisp design language dubbed 'folded paper'. And in the UK, storied Lotus founder Colin Chapman was looking for engineering work to fund his troubled automotive boutique. In 1975, DeLorean officially chartered the DeLorean Motor Company. By 1976, he had a running prototype of the 'Z Tavio', an innovative coupe that would be offered to the public for roughly $12K. In 1978, DeLorean Motor Company broke ground on its first factory in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland. And in 1981, with the help of Giugiaro and Chapman, the DMC-12 was officially introduced. DMC's sensational coupe takes shape thanks to Glass Reinforced Plastic that's cloaked in brushed, 304-grade stainless. The idea was to create a profile that wouldn't chip, fade or blemish. And, knowing stainless is notoriously hard to re-shape, DeLorean made sure every panel could be replaced as needed. Designed to be both fun and efficient, that profile achieves a super slick .35 Coefficient of Drag. Noise and vibrations are isolated via Lotus-developed polyurethane foam. And plastic, body-matched bumpers ensure years of low-speed durability. This particular DMC-12 differs from typical low-mileage examples in that its current owner conducted a $30K update which was designed to address known durability issues. That means you can purchase this showroom-fresh gem with the confidence of knowing everything, from its fresh tires to its re-grained steel, is right, tight and ready to roll! A late 1982 build that was actually assembled by Consolidated International, this car represents the very best of what Dunmurry had to offer. And, as a fully-sorted garage queen that's only seen three owners, it's one of the nicest DeLoreans on the planet! At the front of its body, a freshly painted valence hangs clear headlights, amber parking lamps and a familiar, "DMC" branded grille over a wind-cheating spoiler. At the top of that grille, a '82-exclusive hood founds a '82-exclusive "DeLorean" script in front of dark-tint glass and functional engine louvers. At the sides of those louvers, freshly striped fenders center power, partitioned windows between sporty hash marks and clean "DMC" call-outs. And at the back of the car, a second freshly painted valence centers new taillights above small stainless exhaust tips. During the DMC-12's development, engineers considered a variety of powerplants. For example, DeLorean's original prototype utilized a Citroen rotary mill. When that engine went out of production, Ford's Cologne V6 was heavily considered. But, ultimately, the 2.85 litre Peugeot Renault Volvo V6 was chosen for its combination of performance and durability. Utilizing aluminum construction, overhead camshafts and 2 valves per cylinder, this proven powerplant turns smooth 8.8 to 1 compression into a 130 horsepower and 162 lb./ft. torque. And, despite moving a relatively heavy payload, those respectable numbers provide great fuel economy! Aesthetically, everything on this PRV, from its stock internals to its Bosch fuel injection, reflects a history of fastidious maintenance. Twist the key and the cylinders rumble to life, sending their rhythmic notes through a subtle exhaust system. And with one tap of the throttle, the engine zings smoothly toward redline. Take a look under this factory-spec cruiser and you'll find straight, freshly-sorted mechanicals that are clean and weather-free. Originally intended as a mid-engine platform, the DeLorean ultimately slid its V6 rearward to accommodate a 3-speed Peugeot Renault Volvo transaxle. The car's body rides on a 2-piece Glass Reinforced Plastic monocoque that's mated to a Lotus-inspired double-Y chassis. That chassis' fully independent suspension combines speed proportional rack and pinion steering with two 10-inch rotors, two 10.5-inch rotors and four power-assisted calipers. Exhaust rolls through stainless steel pipes that, like the car's stainless exterior and epoxied chassis, were built with ultimate durability in mind. At the corners of the floor, a-symmetrical alloys spin 195/60R14 Falken Ziex ZE-912s in front of 225/60R15 Falken Ziex ZE-912s. And, if you're a stickler for absolute authenticity, the car's original Goodyear NCTs ARE included with our sale. DMC offered strictly monochromatic leather inside their futuristic creation and, accordingly, this 12's clean cabin is decked in factory-fresh gray. Hoist the LED-lit doors and a plush driving environment kicks off with a pair of comfy buckets that were specifically designed to accommodate the 6'4" stature of creator John DeLorean. In front of those buckets, a pliable dash anchors correct 80 MPH gauges above electronic climate control and a modern Pioneer CD player. Below that dash, a stitched leather console centers a decidedly 80s shifter and factory power window switches on fresh carpet that's protected by "DMC" branded floor mats. Opposite that console, padded side panels hang controls for both power mirrors and power door locks above sculpted armrests and small pull straps. Above those panels, a new headliner frames small reading lamps and a self-dimming mirror. In front of the driver, a leather-wrapped, 3-spoke steering wheel laps a fully adjustable column. The Citroën CX is an automobile produced by the French automaker Citroën from 1974 to 1991. Citroën sold nearly 1.2 million CXs during its 16 years of production. The CX was voted European Car of the Year in 1975. The name CX is the French equivalent abbreviation of Cd for drag coefficient in English, drawing attention to the cars aerodynamic styling, which was uncommon in 1974. It is considered by some enthusiasts as the last "real Citroën" before Peugeot took control of the company in 1976 Available models were a four-door fastback, a station wagon (break, or estate car), and a long-wheelbase model built on the break chassis. The CX employed Citroën's unique hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension system. The CX was initially a huge success in Europe, more than 132,000 being produced in 1978. It found customers beyond the loyal Citroën DS customer base and brought the technology of the advanced, but somewhat impractical, Citroën SM to the masses. Unlike its principal competitors, the CX did not have worldwide distribution--the cost of development and improvements had to be met from a geographically small sales base The CX Prestige model was used by the French government, including former president Jacques Chirac. It was the official car of DDR head of state Erich Honecker, who ordered several extended versions for official use. A Series 1 CX Safari features in the 1980s ITV (UK) children's Sci Fi drama 'Chocky'. Harald V, King of Norway, had a CX in the 70s. The Norwegian government used it in the 80s, as did Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega. Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, had a special Landaulet created by Henri Chapron for his 1981 wedding. The singer Grace Jones sported a haircut shaped like a CX in a prominent series of advertisements for the GTi Turbo in 1985, and included the CX prominently in her 1985 music video "Slave to the Rhythm". The character Jasper Palmer, played by Michael Caine in the movie Children of Men, drove a vehicle based on a CX Safari. This fitted in with the director's vision of vehicles being futuristic designs based on familiar cars but with an unfamiliar disguise. It has the 2.7L PRV engine in it which is a collaboration motor that Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo all went in on. It is a powerful motor and was only put in certain car. Then you add the fact that this car is a 5-Speed Manual with Overdrive which was a rare option and this car is sweet. This is a rare car that you don't see many of. This is a 1 Owner Car and has low miles at 113K Original. This car spent most of it's life in Europe and was a Special Ordered Diplomat Car. The previous owner kept all the manuals and even filled out all the mileage and locations. He even had all the service manuals for the car which is very cool but these do not go with the car. You can tell he really cared for this car. The car is very fun to drive and just cruises down the road. Under the hood and undercarriage are clean and dry as can be. Make sure to watch the video I do a complete walk around of the car inside and out and even take it on a test drive. This is a 1 Owner Car The exterior of this car is beautiful. It is silver in color and has a very nice shine to it. It is starting to fade on the top surfaces but nothing major and the car still looks great. All of the chrome and trim are very nice and clean on the car and the chrome just shines in the sun. This car is straight as can be and you can tell it was definitely cared for over the years. It has a very nice set of Aftermarket Factory 15" Volvo Wheels on it which I'm not sure if came on the car or were added afterwards. Either way the look great. It has a very nice set of Pirelli Tires that are fairly new and I would say have about 90% tread left. These are very nice tires that have a lot of miles left on them and even still have the titties on the side.
