AC Cobra With A Built 302, Five Speed, Disc Brakes, Meticulously Maintained & Turn Key! 85+ Photos & Video Located Below! Please feel free to share this listing with anyone you know. Who knows, it could very well be someone's dream car! This Cobra was purchased as a finished car over a decade ago. It is built on a FiberFab body. Upon obtaining it, the current owner took the Cobra to a very reputable high-end specialty car facility (Bob Hindson Racing) and had the Cobra completely reengineered to the tune of 10k dollars. His goal, to insure that he had a turn key sports car that handled like a true performance vehicle. During the course of his ownership, Bob Hindson Racing and AutoDino have been the primary care takers of this Cobra. Over the last five years, over 8k dollars has been spent on regular maintenance. The fit and finish of this Cobra far surpasses the bulk of the Cobras that you will find within the market place. I would say that this Cobra itself is in the top 10% of its class. Upon driving the Cobra, one of the very first things that you will notice is the overall quality of the car. The overall feel of this Cobra is equivalent to driving any vehicle off of the manufacturing line. Just turning the key over will give anyone a good feel of just how well built this car is. From how the doors shut and seal to how she handles, you will quickly see that there were zero corners cut on the build of this Cobra. The 5.0 302 within this Cobra is absolutely phenomenal. It does not smoke, leak, nor burn an excess amount of fluid. She fires up every time and has enough power to push you back in to your seat. The five speed manual transmission works flawlessly. You can easily sail through gears with out any problems. The front disc brake setup also works flawlessly. She does not pull, shake, or shimmy upon stopping. All of the wiring through out this Cobra is nice and tidy. Every single thing on the Cobra is in excellent working order. The body and paint work of this Cobra is absolutely surreal. All of the panels line up exceptionally well. Again, I want to put a heavy emphasis on the fit and finish of this Cobra. A very extensive amount of time and money were invested in to insuring that the fit and finish were spot on. All of the glass as well as chrome through out the Cobra are in excellent condition. The Cobra does have a convertible top. The interior of the Cobra is in excellent shape. The bucket seats, the dash pad, instrument panel, shifter, all of its is in excellent condition. Located below you will find close to ninety photos of the Cobra as well as an extensive amount of footage. What you see within the photos is exactly what you will see in person. I do my absolute best to insure that there is no guess work when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. If you would like photos of any specific areas and or footage, please do not hesitate to ask. 90+ PICTURES  AND 3 VIDEOS BELOW DESCRIPTION!!!  You will not find a nicer, clear title Shelby GT for this price. $9K in professionally installed upgrades!!  I am re-listing this car for the elderly buyer who bought it last month as he is having major heath issues. He owned it for 1 month and although he loves the car, it must go, so I agreed to sell it for him. He put less than 200 miles on it. The cleanest, clear title, 1 owner SGT you will find for the price!! 55K original miles since new, so yes, it has been driven, not kept in a cellophane bag, so you can get in it and drive it too.  All original paint. No accidents or paint work ever. 1 doctor owner since new and garaged, even when he was at work. Very deep shine and looks wet when dry. All Original Ford Carlite glass with no chips or issues. Original stripes have minimal fading and there are a few chips, scratches and flaws as shown in the pictures below. No dings, dents, or accidents. Car has always been garaged and never driven in the rain. Waxed at least once per month   5763 07 Shelby GT's were built. Clear CA title in hand with no liens and tags were just renewed so they are good through July, 2015. Has rare original Shelby 20X9" Razor wheels with Hankook Ventus tires, Steeda adjustable upper and billet lower control arms, Shelby/MM camber caster plates, my MMS mufflers, and VMP tune. All work professionally done in my shop at around 35K Mi. $9K in parts and labor. We also scuffed, neutralized, primed, and painted the rear end and drive shaft as Ford and Shelby did not and they started rusting almost immediately. Tasteful upgrades make the car much nicer to drive, more power, better sound, and better handling. Drives and tracks down the road much better than any stock Shelby GT. Car looks, starts, runs, smells, and drives excellent. Not a flawless car, but very nice and fun. If you want a project, please buy one, as this is not it. Car runs, drives, and performs very well Oil changes every 3K miles, or once a year, what ever came first. Trans fluid, power steering fluid (all synthetics), and coolant/distilled water/ are all fresh. Car needs nothing. It runs and drives perfect and has no leaks, or issues. Look at the paint, underside, engine box, trim, and emblems. Always garaged. Never in the snow, salt, or rain. I own a high end Mustang shop that has been in business for 20+ years and am VERY particular with all vehicles I choose to deal with. Car has never been abused, wrecked, raced, damaged, bumped, or dented, etc, since built. Back seat never sat in. All original body panels and no paint work. Has the minor flaws and wear as shown in the pictures. Leave as it is and drive and enjoy it, or make it showroom new again, your choice and basically a blank slate for what you choose to use it for. Never been put on a lift incorrectly, never been bottomed out underneath. Front bumper lower edge has been scuffed like all of them have that have been driven. You can not see this unless on a lift or you crawl under the car. Door jambs, engine box, underside, and trunk also kept clean always. Look at the underside pictures. Never a bent body panel, floor pan, or frame rail. All original Ford Carlite glass including windshield which has no cracks or pits. None of the emblems have any fading, peeling or pitting, like most do. Original inspection tags, stickers, and line scribbles are still present on underside, along with all markings in grease pencil's which disappear once driven in inclement weather. Again, please take the time to look at the 180+ detailed pictures. Look at the others out there for sale...do they have underside shots, or as many pictures as me? Doubtful. Most are also modified with mish matched parts by people that have no idea what they are doing. Ask questions if you have them if you are serious. I write as much as I do and take as many pictures as I do, so you can feel 100% confident in your purchase and know exactly what you are getting.   In my 20 years in the Mustang business, I have rarely seen, owned, or driven a nicer built and well balanced car of any type. I have owned over 1000 Mustangs, Shelby's, Big Block's, Boss's, Pantera's, Saleen's, Roush's, Cobra's. Lightning's etc, mostly collector models, and rarely see a car (of ANY type) kept in this condition with the miles. Suspension is smooth and not bouncy or twitchy when driving down the road, or on the freeway. It has no clunks, rattles, or squeaks. Very fun, well balanced car to drive and enjoy. Car has always been started up and allowed to get up to operating temperature every few weeks even when driven little, then driven around the block to keep all seals lubricated and to keep everything in operating condition. Always garaged and has never spent a night outside. No power steering moan like most have. Nothing leaks, drips, or seeps. Everything works as new. Original CD, radio and clock work perfectly too. None of the speakers fart or rattle. No sweat marks, stains, smells, etc on any of the interior buttons or switches. No switches have sweaty hand, shiny marks. All original grain is nice on everything. It really looks, drives, and feels like a 2 yer old car. It is very easy to drive and maneuver. All lights work. It starts the first time, EVERY time. Original seat belts are not hard as a rock like most and still supple. All retractors work properly too. You simply can NOT find one like this for the price this nice!!!   Underside, and inside of wheels detailed frequently since new as is the exterior and interior. Carpet has never been shampooed, soiled, stained, spilled on, and still looks like new with no wear through marks, or unraveling . Original front Shelby OEM floor mats come with the car. Original trunk mat comes with the car, but not with the spare wheel/tire shown. Original parts available to winning bidder for an extra price. Just look at the pictures, they really explain this car, hands down, better than I can. Belt does not moan with the AC on. Does not overheat even in 110+ degree weather. Coolant changed every 2 years with proper Motorcraft coolant and distilled water, even when driven little. The car was let idle for 45 minutes in 110 degree heat and did not get past 1/2 way on the temperature gauge. It was then driven to make sure there were no issues, pinging, or vibrations...no problems. No exhaust leaks. Most of these cars don't drive as good as they look, this one absolutely does!  Car is meant to be driven and enjoyed. It drives VERY well. No hesitations, back-fires, pops, squeaks, pinging, smells, and is not all over the road like most. Looks, drives and feels like a new car. Suspension is responsive and tight, steering is tight, and transmission is tight. Brakes are adjusted properly, and it stops very well and straight. Does not wander, shimmy, or have wind noise, even at 85 MPH on the freeway. Never abused. All work has been professionally done on this car since new. You are better off getting one of these Focus's that have been driven, properly broken in, and properly maintained than one with super low miles that has not been properly stored or has dried up seals. Nothing leaks or seeps on this car (even rear main seal doesn't seep) and it burns no oil. Does not smoke upon start up and does not smell like un-burned gas from behind like most. Starts right up, first time, every time. Idles smoothly. No hesitations. Very smooth power. Gets great MPG too, 17+ MPG in town, and 28+ MPG on the freeway driving easy. Brakes front and rear are firm. No rotor wear or ridge. Power assist works as it should. No shimmies, squeaks, or pulls when you step on the brakes. Parking brake works perfect. Both cooling system coolant and distilled water new. Brake fluid also flushed and refreshed (every 2 years). As I said before, ALL fluids have always been changed well before needed!! Tires have about 70% tread on them and plenty of life left on them. Never been smoked in, never eaten in, no stains, still smells brand new. Carpet, seats, and carpet always covered when driven. Really nice looking interior. Most you will find the inside looks terrible!! Cigarette lighter never used. All silk screening and grain through out looks like new.  Car is VERY clean top to bottom. Steering wheel is like new with no wear and pad is not warped. Horn and cruise control works perfect. All power options work perfect. Seats in nice condition and covered with covers when driven and treated with leather conditioner often. Power windows smoothly glide up and down smoothly with no clunks or skips. Power door locks work like they should. Factory  keyless entry/alarm. Side windows and rear glass have been tinted with medium tint to keep interior cooler when driving. Doors close tightly. Speedometer works perfect and doesn't bounce or stick. All gauges work perfectly and are accurate. All lock cylinders are original to the car and work smoothly with no binds, including trunk lock. Look at how well all the body panels and windows line up!! All original trim is in excellent condition. Every correct clip, nut, bolt, rivet, plug, sticker, rubber bumper, etc is correct on this car!! Original clean headlights. This is not a clean up and sell, everything is as correct as possible and has been since new. Care, thought, a huge amount of time, passion, and attention to detail is present on every aspect of this car and has always been babied, detailed frequently, and waxed often. Always kept indoors!! I own a high end Mustang shop that has been in business for 20+ years and am VERY particular with all vehicles I choose to deal with. Car has never been abused, wrecked, raced, damaged, bumped, or dented, etc, since built. Back seat never sat in. All original body panels and no paint work. Has the minor flaws and wear as shown in the pictures. Leave as it is and drive and enjoy it, or make it showroom new again, your choice. Never been put on a lift incorrectly, never been bottomed out. Door jambs, engine box, underside, and trunk also kept clean always. Look at the underside pictures. None of the speakers fart or rattle. No sweat marks, stains, smells, etc on any of the interior buttons or switches. No switches have sweaty hand, shiny marks. All original grain perfect on everything. It really looks, drives, and feels like a new car. It is very easy to drive and maneuver. All lights work. It starts the first time, EVERY time. Original seat belts are not hard as a rock like most and still supple. All retractors work properly too. You simply can NOT find one like this for the price!!!   Underside, and inside of wheels detailed frequently since new as is the exterior and interior. Carpet has never been shampooed, soiled, stained, spilled on, and still looks like new with no stains, or unraveling . Original front and rear OEM floor mats come with the car. Starts right up, first time, every time. Idles smoothly. No hesitations. Very smooth power. Gets great MPG too, 17+ MPG in town, and 28+ MPG on the freeway driving easy. Brakes front and rear are firm. No rotor wear or ridge. Power assist works as it should. No shimmies, squeaks, or pulls when you step on the brakes. Parking brake works perfect. Both cooling system coolant and distilled water new. Brake fluid also flushed and refreshed (every 2 years). As I said before, ALL fluids have always been changed well before needed!! Tires have about 80% tread on them and plenty of life left on them. Never been smoked in, never eaten in, no stains, still smells brand new. Carpet, seats, and carpet always covered when driven. Really nice looking interior. Most you will find the inside looks terrible!! Cigarette lighter never used. All silk sreening and grain through out looks like new.  Car is VERY clean top to bottom. Steering wheel is beautiful with no wear and pad is not warped. Horn and cruise control works perfect. All power options work perfect. All original trim is in excellent condition. Every correct clip, nut, bolt, rivet, plug, sticker, rubber bumper, etc is correct on this car!! Original clean headlights. It was their only vehicle between them and was completely original down to the paint. My shop did all the repairs and maintenance on it. When her husband passed away in 2004, she needed a vehicle that she could drive that was safe, simple, economical and comfortable with great gas mileage, so I found a good home for the Shelby for her, and got her the car you see here. She took care of this car like her Shelby, only hand washed, and hand waxed by her, since new. I know a Focus is far from a collector car, but she took care of it like she did her Shelby and it shows. Sadly, she broke her hip and has asked me to sell this car for her. Original Hankook tires were replaced with Goodyear RSA's not from miles, but from time, and I also changed the transmission fluid again from time, not mileage. Car also has a new battery. No scuffs on any wheels at all. Her 2 good  luck charms also come with the car, one of which her mother knitted for her and she kept with both her Shelby's and this car the whole time. I did have it inspected twice (once independently and once at the dealer) prior to purchase to ensure it did not have the sub frame issue that has affected a few of these cars – it did not have it, and I purchased the car as proof. I have never done anything even remotely aggressive with it, so that would not have changed. 1 I did not receive a front license plate bracket when I bought it, but have not needed one in VA as they are not mandatory. They are $20 and I will include if you want or need one. I like the front without it. 2 There are no rips, wrinkles, creases, gouges, stains or anything. There is an ever so slight rubbing on the drivers outer bolster where your backside brushes against it as you sort of drop into the car (I am 6’3” and it is a long way down). Most people would consider it perfect but I want to be conservative in my assessments. There is a simple treatment that will remedy the rub but I did not want to be guilty of covering anything up. I am totally OCD – particularly with my cars, and have extra cars for cold, hot, and wet weather, so: Never been in the snow, slush, heat, or rain (it was rained on one time in 9 years on an anniversary trip) Always garaged – even at work No accidents No pets Non-smoker Always adult owned and driven No abuse (never seen the yellow line while I have owned it) Never tracked (I have never even squeaked the tires) No rattles No shakes No squeaks 3 No leaks No smells Tight! Steering, dash, everything. No window chips Everything works There is one ‘I can’t even call it a’ scratch; my son brushed the lower rocker with his pedal car. Plus 2 tiny rock chips. Pics included. Other than that, there is not a mark on it. We had a very tough time getting a picture of any of them – especially the mark on the rocker as it doesn’t have any texture and is still the same color as the paint. 3 When the hard top is installed a little squeaking can occur while the roof settles. Normally I gently retighten the four mounting points after a few days. When you get it, it will likely have the hardtop installed, so you may hear a little of this. I have maintained it faithfully and only driven it calmly (story below). It is a great car and I pamper it. Service has been uneventful: oil/filter changes (only with BMW filters and the factory and warranty prescribed Castrol TWS Motorsport 10W-60), new tires at 28,000, a new battery at 33,000, a coil pack, exhaust and intake cam sensors, a rotor bearing at 33.5. I replaced the rearview mirror when the LCD seal failed and have had it upgraded to an electronic/electrostatic dimmer. I replaced a piece of trim that the inside tab had broken off of the A pillar. *Extra* Keychain – I will include an M keychain (I still have an M6 but don’t need the keychain since it has comfort access) *Extra* Possible Surprise – If you have a kid in a car seat, I may have a surprise for you. The Hagerty ranking was based on the 1998 through 2000 model featuring a 240 HP S52 engine. Upping the stakes, this is the ultimate M Roadster – the 315 HP S54 powered variant produced from 2001-02 in very limited quantities (1564 over the 15 month production cycle for these 2 model years, and this is one of only 151 in this color combination; build date May 8,2001). Following the formula that Car and Driver called “the oldest trick in the automotive book”, BMW “stuff[ed]the most powerful engine you can get your hands on into the smallest car you’ve got”. What results is a proven platform with the venerated and potent drivetrain plucked straight out of the 2001-2006 M3; a car that spent its’ entire production run on the Car and Driver “10 Best Cars” list. BMW’s M Division did shoe-horn a V12 into a Z, but it made roughly the same horsepower (326) as the 2001-02 S54 powered M3 variant (333) and added tremendous weight, so was scrapped. In the end even shoehorning this engine into the Z required an exhaust modification that dropped the output to a still overpowering 315 and the redline to 7200 RPM. You can buy a noisier free-flowing aftermarket exhaust and bump it back up to 333, but I would not recommend it. A fellow M roadster owner did this and hated the more metallic sound of the exhaust through that setup and took it off and sold it. That and they are about $1300 not including labor. More noise! More money! According to Car and Driver “the engine is an absolute gem. This ferocious, screaming motor hurtles the M3 down the road with an urgency that now rivals the world's best sports cars from Porsche and Chevrolet. BMW estimates the M3 will hit 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds and will eat up a quarter-mile in 13.5 seconds—on a par with the 911 Carrera and Corvette“. As Jalopnik states of the S54 in their list of The Ten Best Engines of the Last 20 Years, “We all want one, right? So that pretty much settles it.” Imagine a car the size of a Mazda Miata with BMW build and materials quality and the engine and drivetrain from the mighty M3 in it. Open your eyes – it is right here. With the M Roadster weighing-in at 3084 pounds (331 pounds lighter, or 90% of the M3s 3415 pounds), the 2001-2002 BMW M Roadster is capable of 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. With an average of less than 10 pounds to carry per horsepower and over 100 HP produced per naturally aspirated liter, the E36/7 M Roadster competes with current performance offerings from all of the usual suspects. In fact, due to the comparative lightness of the M Roadster, the car was able to be fitted with a Getrag 5 speed manual, allowing it to go from 0-60 with only 1 required shift, versus the M3, which required the lower geared 6 speed transmission and 2 shifts. All that said, under normal to even spirited driving, this is a well-sorted and well-behaved car, free from any sort of belligerent noise - or drama other than visual, which this car serves up like a sexy woman in a tight dress. Spin it up above 5000 RPM and the double VANOS (still the standard at BMW today) alters the cam-phasing and the engine gets down to a different kind of business – serious business. This naturally aspirated (non turbo or supercharged) beauty soars to a 7200 RPM redline, and the engine and exhaust sounds take on new resonance as the cams shift position. Engine The S54 is the high performance version of the M50 and was used in the E46 M3, Z3 M Coupé / Roadster, and the E85 Z4 M Roadster / E86 M Coupe. The S54 is technically an evolution of the iron-block S50B32. It shares few major components with the S50 and differences include: · Increased cylinder bore to 87 mm (from 86.4 mm) for a new total displacement of 3,246 cc (from 3,201 cc)· Modified camshafts· High pressure Double VANOS continuously variable valve timing system with faster operation at high rpm· Increased compression to 11.5:1 (from 11.3:1)· More advanced BMW/Siemens MSS 54 engine management control· Finger-type rocker arms for reduced reciprocating mass and friction· One-piece aluminum head casting for lighter weight· Scavenging oil pump to maintain pressure during heavy cornering (Source: Wiki BMW S54) Mechanicals The M Roadster also has many M3 parts on board, including brakes and suspension, and numerous beefed-up components. Other changes included adding a limited slip differential (check the rear differential – straight racecar), a different gearbox and strengthening the chassis. Electronic aids include M-specific Dynamic Stability Control (which can becompletely disabled) and ABS. The M Roadster could run a wider track under the flared wheel arches as well as wider wheels and tires to try to tame the increased power. Standard tire sizes for the M Roadster is 225/45r17 at the front and 245/40r17 at the back. The low offset of the rear wheels allows plenty of flexibility to increase the rear tire width. A dual exhaust system fed each set of three cylinders to two dual tailpipes. This quad exhaust has since become a BMW M division signature. (Source: wiki “BMW M Roadster) Design This car is more than just an engine and, penned by Joji Nagashima (born and schooled in Japan, and also the designer of the venerable e39 M5), the e36/7 M Roadster is a graceful and powerful design. Almost ten years in, and I still stop and appreciate the subtle and sensual line from the hood, down the side, and around the sculpted rear and back to the front. The near absence of front and rear overhangs is particularly aesthetic. Fat steam-roller tires fill out and in (with a deep offset) the rear fenders and give the M Roadster a menacing stance from all angles. Quad tail pipes were introduced on the 1998 M Roadster and Coupe, and they have been standard on all Ms ever since. In my opinion, the 1998-2002 E36/7 M Roadster is a gorgeous design, and preceded the current pedestrian impact regulations that have caused hoods to rise in compliance. Not to offend, but this curvy design preceded the much-maligned Chris Bangle era of design that replaced the M Roadster in 2006. To repeat from Hagerty above . “We believe in the years to come this car will be highly desired by collectors for its gracious curves and powerful engine” – it is telling to me that they list the body ahead of the engine, because this is a stunning car. Exterior Features Quad chrome pipes out the back, fat tires and wheels, flared wheel arches, side mirrors, rear view mirror, special side grilles, sculpted M badges (they are flat from 1998-2000), a new trunk lid, shadow chrome finish alloy wheels, and different front and rear fascias identify this very special car. The stance is unmistakable. The front fascia sports an aggressive splitter to stabilize the car at speed, and deletes the standard road lights to provide additional cooling ducts for the front brakes (pinched from the M3). The rear fascia accommodates the fatter tires, flared rear wheel arches and quad tail pipes, and deletes the license plate mounting bracket, which would normally be where the tail pipes are. The license plate is relocated to the bottom of the trunk lid. I have included Z3 and M Roadster ‘before and after’ style photos to demonstrate how dramatic the M treatment is on the overall character of the car. Similarly, I included AC and AC/Cobra photos just to demonstrate the metamorphosis there too. Interior Features The interior features several unique items including: a chrome-ringed instrument cluster with grey-faced gauges, red needles and the M logo, power and heated sport seats, a 375 mm three-spoke M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, an illuminated M leather shift knob with the M logo on the shift pattern and a chrome boot surround, an oval-shaped automatic-dimming rear-view mirror with chrome surround, leather door pulls and center console trim, and door sill plates with the "M" logo. This late-run S54-powered M roadster has a 280 km/h / 170 mph speedometer. You will love the simplicity of the three climate control gauges: temperature, direction, and fan – so logical and intuitive. Entertainment Option one – lower roof and windows. Option two - Harman Kardon Stereo. AM/FM/CD. Speakers in the doors (tweeters and mids), and subwoofer in the hard bulkhead between the seats. Fully functional but rarely used (for option 1). Includes Bluetooth integration of phone and music via included Jabra device. Security I have never had a car stolen or even broken into. That said, I do have alarms and immobilizers on some of the cars and used to have them on all. Alarm – Factory alarm including integrated electronic radio theft deterrent. The head unit electronically locks and can’t be used without a 5 digit code. Remotes – As I mentioned, the alarm keychain remotes were not an OEM option. BMW partnered with AutoLoc and produced a BMW-blessed aftermarket module that plugged into an available port in the trunk that enabled full integration with the alarms. I have 2 and both will be included. Ravelco – This is a secondary ignition circuit, so the car cannot be started without both keys (BMW and Ravelco) in place. You don’t have to remove the Ravelco “plug” (A.K.A the key) so you can just leave it in place if you like and it’s normal. The plug is hidden above the hood release so no holes were drilled in the dash (picture included). Since the car is in the garage (with a territorial 100 pound African Lion Hound sleeping nearby - when the door is open and a thief could try to steal it) I leave the plug in most of the time. I do take it out (of my Jeep) when I am at the airport or downtown, as the Jeep is my go-to car for those trips. The Ravelco plus the extra plug cost $500. I had to special order external window stickers for the car because of the tinted windows. If they would have used the normal internally applied stickers it would peal the tinting off if the sticker was removed. Plus it shows up at night. Details! Read up on Ravelco and you will see that 4 million of these have been installed and not a single one has ever been defeated. Thieves can tap the BMW lock but not the Ravelco one. My History with the Car Ten years ago I sold my cherry 1969 Mustang Mach 1 428 (a horrible driver, handler, parker) and looked for the best handling, quickest, most beautiful, and most fun to drive car I could find. After much consideration and research, I targeted the 2001-2002 BMW M Roadster. It took me 18 months to find one that had low miles, a factory hard-top, non-smoker, in excellent condition, that had not been abused or tracked, and did not have any of those colored seat panels (red, blue, gray, green, orange, dark beige, or Laguna Seca blue – which I do not care for). When I saw this car I jumped on it. What did I learn? When you are driving an overpowered 40 year old car riding on 14 inch wheels, 7 inch wide tires, and with drum brakes in the rear, it's terrifying and pretty much anything else feels great. Even a GTI or Mazda 3 could beat it from 0-60. What I discovered when I changed cars was that I didn’t want to tear-around – I just couldn’t help tearing around in the Mach 1. I immediately settled into a pretty (dare I say it) mature groove with the car. I love the sound of the wind and the engine, the feel of the breeze, and didn’t need to drown all of that out with screeching tires, high rev burn-outs, or general jack-assery. I don’t even really use the radio (but it works). The thrum of the engine, the song of the tires, and the hum of the exhaust are all I need. To that, comparatively, I had a Porsche Boxster S too and the metallic-sounding exhaust rasp would wear on my nerves in a short period of time – none of that here. Even with the double VANOS kicked-in above 5000 RPMs the exhaust is not irritating. (I have not even gotten up to 5000 RPM in this car – I know from another M Roadster driver that I have ridden with). Tops I don’t really enjoy the extreme hot – or the extreme cold, so I drive with the roof on in summer and winter, and just take it off during the spring and then again in the fall. As such, the soft top has never (as long as I have owned it) been exposed to the extreme hot or cold, or sun. The prior owner also kept the hardtop on always, so the soft top was, and has been, spared from any real stress. That said, the soft top has been used frequently and is in perfect condition (as you can see in the photos), including the window. The window is clear and there is not an iota of yellowing on this window. Included is the factory kit that contains the protectors for the rear window when in storage in the car (when the hardtop is on), the hardtop storage and carrying kit, and some Mothers convertible top soft window 2 stage polish. I am having trouble finding the article (will keep looking) but Car and Driver called this top “quality goods”. It is multi-layered and heavily insulated and is resistant to sound, moisture, and temperature extremes. It’s three layers thick, so is tight, dry, quiet, and keeps the elements out completely. The tonneau cover is included and is a $452 add-on. You can fold it and keep it in the trunk, and then pop it on when you drop the top. When the hardtop is on you can store the tonneau in place over the soft top. In all likelihood, this is how the car will be when you receive it since we’ll want to pack everything in place to make sure you get everything. As a note, I store the tonneau flat, so it will not have any indication that it has been folded and stored. Will you Fit in it? As I mentioned, I am 6’3” - with a 44” out seam and I fit just fine. As a matter of fact, there’s an additional 2 inches available with the hardtop on and even more with the soft-top. Why am I selling if I love it so much? I telecommute now, and I have two 13 year olds at the same private school, so we have to drive them. So my driving is fairly light and I also rarely get the opportunity to use it for school trips since I have ‘three butts and two seats”. My kids also use these hard-side book bags that are essentially rolling lockers. I cannot fit them in the trunk. They are ridiculously huge and blocky and the car is neither. I do love this car and would love to keep it as it’s gorgeous and I think will not only appreciate but become more appreciated. It’s just not very practical for the next 2-3 years. After being disappointed by all the ratty other 7.3 Power Stroke trucks out there and looking at this one, please feel free to message me. This truck is an absolute cream puff and drives absolutely exceptional, and is like new through out!! 1 mature owner and Southern CA truck since new.  It looks, starts, runs, smells, and drives like new. Transmission fluid, rear end fluid, power steering fluid, and Motorcraft gold coolant/distilled water are all fresh, as is the serpentine belt, Motorcraft batteries etc.  Michelin E load rated tires are near new with 5100 miles on them. Truck needs nothing. It runs and drives perfect and has no leaks, seaps, or issues. No blowby or smoke. THE TRUCK FIRES UP EVERY TIME, FIRST TIME. THE GLOW PLUGS AND INJECTORS HAVE ALL BEEN TESTED AND ARE WORKING PROPERLY. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK ACROSS THE COUNTRY, it is the nicest 7.3 available for the money. Why save a few dollars and buy someone else's problems?  This incredible F-250 truck has always been driven only on nice days since new and always garaged. All freeway miles and only on nice weather days. Even while towing, truck has been covered when parked. Always garaged! Never in the snow or salt. Never out of CA, NV or AZ. Underside alone speaks volumes about this truck. I own a high end Mustang shop that has been in business for 20+ years and am VERY particular with all vehicles I choose to deal with. Truck has never been abused, wrecked, raced, aftermarket tuned, damaged, bumped, or driven by kids, etc, since built. All original body panels. No rust, scrapes, scratches, dings, dents, no flaws in the chrome, no curb rash on the original flawless forged OEM wheels. You could put the window sticker back on it and swear it was new on the showroom floor. Fully loaded and amazingly clean from top to bottom. No surprises or disappointments with this truck. Original Oxford White paint shines like new and has been waxed regularly and always garaged. Much more durable than today's water base paints. Look at the reflections. Never been put on a lift incorrectly, never been bottomed out. Door jambs, engine box, wheels, underside, and bed also kept clean always. Look at the underside and frame rails. Most original markings still present along with several original stickers. Never a bent body panel, floor pan, or frame rail. All original Ford Carlite tinted privacy glass. Front windows are tinted to match the rear glass. Windshield is a brand new Ford Carlite. Original inspection tags are still present on underside, along with all markings in grease pencil's which disappear once driven in inclement weather. Again, please take the time to look at the 200+ detailed pictures. Truck is very clean through out and a thrill to drive. Never been chipped or modded in any way. More reliable and durable than all the new diesels out there with out all the maintenance nightmares of the new ones. Google the 7.3 Powerstroke and you will see that they are considered the BEST diesel ever put in a truck! The 2002 is known to be the best year too as it has the available transmission temperature gauge, stronger transmission, best head lights and marker lights, nicer center console, larger transmission cooler, hi torque starter, and the best year of the comfortable, adjustable lumbar seats with full power on both fronts. I know these 7.3's well as I have owned quite a few over the years. Look at the others out there for sale, they don't compare to this one!! Ask questions if you have them if you are serious.   In my 20+ years in the Mustang business, I have NEVER seen, owned, or driven a nicer built and well balanced truck. I have owned over 1000 Mustangs, Shelby's, Big Block's, Boss's, Pantera's, Saleen's, Roush's, Cobra's. Lightning's etc, mostly collector models, and rarely see a truck (of ANY type) kept in this condition. This is the perfect tow vehicle for your collector car. It will tow like there is nothing behind it! Suspension is smooth and not bouncy or twitchy when driving down the road, or on the freeway. Truck is appraised and insured for $28K on a collector car policy and it is $480 per year for full coverage and agreed value of $28K. Most insurance companies will do the same for you and insure it as a collector vehicle and you can still tow with it!! Oil has been changed every year or 3-5000 miles which ever came first. In between oil changes, the filter has been changed with only genuine Motorcraft. Only correct 15W-40 oil used. It has always been started up and allowed to get up to operating temperature every few weeks, then driven around the block to keep all seals lubricated and to keep everything in operating condition. Always warehoused and has never spent a night outside, uncovered. No power steering moan like most have. Nothing leaks, drips, or seeps. Everything works as new. Nice aftermarket Sony X-Plode stereo with remote that is easy to operate with CD, clock, Bluetooth, owners manual, and auxiliary port for plugging in your own music files.  No wear marks, sweat marks, stains, smells, fading etc on any exterior, or interior. No switches have sweaty hand, shiny marks. It really looks, drives and feels like a near new truck. Seats always covered when driven and look like new. Carpets are perfect and covered since new with Weather Tech floor liners. Steering wheel and cruise control buttons are brand new Ford originals as the grain was worn slightly. Also a new cluster lens from Ford as the original had a scratch that bothered me. Turn signal switch also replaced not from lack of function, but because the silk screening was fading!! I am VERY, VERY picky!! All lights work. It starts the first time, EVERY time. Brake controller added to make any trailer you tow work like there is nothing behind you.  Original seat belts are not hard as a rock like most and still supple. All retractors work properly too. You simply can NOT find one like this!!! This is a one in a million truck, hands down. Again, pay a little more and get a LOT more!!  Underside, and inside of wheels detailed and cleaned frequently since new as is the exterior and interior. No curb damage on the original polished Alcoa forged wheels. Carpet has never been shampooed. spilled on, and still looks like new with no fading, or unraveling . Weathertech catch all mats have kept the carpets flawless. Original spare (never been used and still has original silk-screening on the tread!!), jack, tire iron, and mounting hardware all original, never used and look new with original stickers. Just look at the pictures, they really explain this truck, hands down, better than I can. This truck is impeccable for the price. No accidents, and no issues.  Many 7.3's with more miles and not near as clean and pride of ownership have sold in the past 6 months for close to, the same as, and more than I am asking for as my BUY IT NOW. No leaks or seeps. A/C ice cold. Heat hot. Brakes and suspension like new. No gear noise, slips, or issues. Care has always been taken with this truck, which is very evident in the pictures. Spray on bedliner is perfect with no gouges or scratches and also has a bedmat. Truck has never been chipped or had a programmer on it. Ice cold A/C as stated before. Does not run hot when A/C is on. Belt does not moan or squeal like some do with the AC on. Does not overheat even in 110+ degree weather. Coolant changed every 2 years with proper Ford Motorcraft gold coolant, distilled water, and Ford diesel additive even when driven little. The truck was let idle for 45 minutes in 110 degree heat this summer and did not get 1/3 way on the temperature gauge. It was then driven to make sure there were no issues, or vibrations...no problems. No exhaust leaks. Sounds fantastic with absolutely no odd noises or issues! Does have a full stainless steel aftermarket exhaust installed a few years ago that gives the truck better gas mileage and a deeper tone with out being loud. Has no problems starting in cold weather either. It is very powerful and sounds great. Most of these trucks don't drive as good as they look, this one absolutely does! I have owned 14 Super Duty 7.3 Powerstroke diesels over the years, and unfortunately 3 6.0 and 6.4's,  2 V10's (horrible engines!!), and quite a few Lightnings, and this truck runs, sounds and drives better than all of them, honestly, plus doesn't cost a fortune to maintain like the newer diesels. It is simple and easy to maintain and does not have tons of sensors like the new ones that go out and are very expensive to replace. Comes from the factory with no catalytic converter, no diesel particulate filter, and all the other power robbing, expensive to maintain items on the 04+ diesels!! You are basically looking at a near new truck for 1/3 the price (comparable truck actually $65K+ for a new junk diesel!!) of a comparable new one with out all the issues of the new ones and several tasteful upgrades.  Truck is meant to be driven and enjoyed. It drives VERY well. No hesitations, back-fires, pops, squeaks, smells, and is not all over the road like most. Looks, drives and feels like a new truck. You will not find a nicer 7.3 Powerstroke for the money!! The suspension is responsive and tight, steering is tight, and transmission is tight with no slippage or delayed shifts. Brakes are adjusted properly, and it stops very well and straight. Does not wander, shimmy, or have wind noise, even at 85 MPH on the freeway. There is not a nicer, right mileage, best year 7.3 Powerstroke out there for this low of a price anywhere! Never abused and was never a daily driver (even when new it has been a multiple owned vehicle). All work has been professionally done on this truck since new. You are better off getting one of these trucks that have been driven, properly broken in, and properly maintained than one with super low miles that has not been properly stored or has dried up seals. Nothing leaks or seeps on this truck (even rear main seal doesn't seep) and it burns no oil. Does not smoke upon start up and does not smell like un-burned diesel from behind like most. Starts right up, first time, every time. Idles smoothly with nice deep exhaust tone. No hesitations. Very smooth power. Gets great MPG too, 18+ MPG in town, and 23+ MPG on the freeway driving easy. If you set the cruise at 69-71 at 2250 RPM (7.3's sweet spot) on level ground it will get 22-26 MPG!! Brakes front and rear are firm. 4 wheel disc with ABS on all 4 wheels. Power assist works as it should. No shimmies, squeaks, or pulls when you step on the brakes. Parking brake works perfect. Rear end is the optional 3.73 ratio limited-slip. Most of these trucks do NOT have the optional gear ratio or Posi traction such as this one. Fresh Motorcraft 75-140 synthetic fluid with friction modifier. Transmission fluid and filter also just done and look like new inside. Both cooling system gold coolant and distilled water/Ford additive new. Brake fluid also flushed and refreshed (every 2 years) and when brakes were done at 100K miles (originals lasted that long, so you can tell how this truck has been driven). As I said before, ALL fluids have always been changed well before needed!! Ford claims rear end fluid and transmission fluid never need replacing, on this truck, both have been done several times since new already!! Never been smoked in, eaten in, no pets, children, no stains, and still smells brand new. Carpet, seats, and original console always covered when driven. Ashtray and cigarette lighter never used, not even for coins or junk to mar the ashtray! Cup holder is not broken like most and pops out of dash correctly. No rattles or wind noise!! Console flips up for a sixth person to sit on center seat and there is an extra seat belt. Truck will seat 6 comfortably.   Truck is VERY clean top to bottom. Steering wheel is beautiful (new NOS Ford) and airbag pad is not warped. NO WEAR!! Horn and cruise control works perfect. All silk screening is like brand new. All power options work perfect. Power windows smoothly glide up and down smoothly with no clunks or skips. Power door locks work like they should. 2 keys and 2 remotes (both original). Factory extra-cost  keyless entry/alarm. No wind noise or leaks when truck is washed. Doors close tightly. Speedometer works perfect and doesn't bounce or stick like most. All gauges work perfectly and are accurate. Truck just turned 148K miles. Last oil change done a month ago. All lock cylinders are original to the truck and work smoothly with no binds, including tailgate lock. Look at how well all the body panels and windows line up!! All original trim is in excellent condition and not faded or deteriorating like most others.  Every correct clip, nut, bolt, rivet, plug, sticker, rubber bumper, etc is correct on this truck!! This is not a clean up and sell, everything is as correct as possible and has been since new. Care, thought, a huge amount of time, passion, and attention to detail is present on every aspect of this truck and has always been babied, detailed frequently, and waxed often. Always kept indoors. Original spare (never been used and still has original silk-screening on the tread!!), jack, tire iron, and mounting hardware all original, never used and look new with original stickers. Just look at the pictures, they really explain this car, hands down, better than I can. This Focus is impeccable for the price. No accidents, and no issues.  No leaks or seeps. A/C ice cold. Heat hot. Never abused or driven by kids. Brakes and suspension like new. No gear noise, whines, or issues. All fluids always done before needed and are clean like they should be. Exceptionally maintained and only correct fluids always! Care has always been taken with this car, which is very evident in the pictures. Belt does not moan with the AC on. Does not overheat even in 110+ degree weather. Coolant changed every 2 years with proper gold Motorcraft coolant and distilled water, even when driven little. The car was let idle for 45 minutes in 110 degree heat and did not get past 1/2 way on the temperature gauge. It was then driven to make sure there were no issues, pinging, or vibrations...no problems. No exhaust leaks. Most of these cars don't drive as good as they look, this one absolutely does! Has original coil springs still on it unlike most that have been lowered (and usually improperly!!)  It is simple and easy to maintain and does not have tons of sensors like the new ones that go out and are very expensive to replace. You are basically looking at a near new Focus SE for 1/3 the price of a new one. Perfect grad gift, or one for yourself!  Car is meant to be driven and enjoyed. It drives VERY well. No hesitations, back-fires, pops, squeaks, pinging, smells, and is not all over the road like most. Looks, drives and feels like a new car. Suspension is responsive and tight, steering is tight, and transmission is tight. Brakes are adjusted properly, and it stops very well and straight. Does not wander, shimmy, or have wind noise, even at 85 MPH on the freeway. Never abused. All work has been professionally done on this car since new. You are better off getting one of these Focus's that have been driven, properly broken in, and properly maintained than one with super low miles that has not been properly stored or has dried up seals. Nothing leaks or seeps on this car (even rear main seal doesn't seep) and it burns no oil. Does not smoke upon start up and does not smell like un-burned gas from behind like most. Starts right up, first time, every time. Idles smoothly. No hesitations. Very smooth power. Gets great MPG too, 20+ MPG in town, and 30+ MPG on the freeway driving easy. Brakes front and rear are firm. No rotor wear or ridge. Power assist works as it should. No shimmies, squeaks, or pulls when you step on the brakes. Parking brake works perfect. Both cooling system coolant and distilled water new. Brake fluid also flushed and refreshed (every 2 years). As I said before, ALL fluids have always been changed well before needed!! Tires have about 80% tread on them and plenty of life left on them. Never been smoked in, never eaten in, no stains, still smells brand new. Carpet, seats, and carpet always covered when driven. Really nice looking interior. Most you will find the inside looks terrible!! Cigarette lighter never used. All silk sreening and grain through out looks like new.  Car is VERY clean top to bottom. Steering wheel is beautiful with no wear and pad is not warped. Horn and cruise control works perfect. All power options work perfect. Seats in impeccable condition and covered with covers when driven. Power windows smoothly glide up and down smoothly with no clunks or skips. Power door locks work like they should. Factory  keyless entry/alarm.  Doors close tightly. Speedometer works perfect and doesn't bounce or stick like most. All gauges work perfectly and are accurate. Last oil change done on 4/10/2014. All lock cylinders are original to the car and work smoothly with no binds, including trunk lock. Look at how well all the body panels and windows line up!! All original trim is in excellent condition. Every correct clip, nut, bolt, rivet, plug, sticker, rubber bumper, etc is correct on this car!! Original immaculate headlights and grill lights. This is not a clean up and sell, everything is as correct as possible and has been since new. Care, thought, a huge amount of time, passion, and attention to detail is present on every aspect of this car and has always been babied, detailed frequently, and waxed often. Always kept indoors!!
