1963 Studebaker Avanti R2 "Factory Supercharged" - Very Clean & Original Car! WOW! 2-Owner Denver Car - Only 68K Original Miles - Very Rare!! Here is a beautiful, very rare and hard to find 1963 Studebaker Avanti R2 "Factory Supercharged" in excellent condition inside and out. This is very clean and original 2-owner car from Denver, Colorado all its life. It was originally owned College Professor at UC in Denver for many years then to a car collector for the remainder of time. This is one of the best originals around with a mint body and beautiful original interior. The car is mostly all original except for one repaint. It is a rust free Denver car since new with only 68K original miles. This is the rare R2 supercharged version of the Avanti with a production number of only 1,552 built. It is truly a rare find that will only appreciate in value!!! It's loaded with the following equipment: 289ci 290hp 4V ?Paxton Supercharged? The exterior of this car is in beautiful condition. It has beautiful paint that was done many years ago but still looks amazing. It has only been painted once in its original color of Avanti Gold. The original fiberglass body is totally solid and is as straight as an arrow. It has always been a Denver car and is completely rust free underneath. All the chrome and stainless on the car is in beautiful original condition and looks great. This car really shows like a diamond! It has a beautiful, mostly original fawn and black interior in it that looks excellent. The dash and gauge cluster looks look excellent. The dash pad, headliner and carpet were all replaced with OEM/factory replacement parts. It is in truly amazing condition. The only fault on the interior is there are a few small cracks in the original steering wheel. The rest of interior looks excellent with its original AM radio and everything. In the trunk is clean and finished very nicely! Mechanically, this little beauty runs and drives beautiful. The engine compartment is all stock and nicely detailed. This car always starts right up and drives great. It has its original 289ci engine with its original Paxton supercharger the runs great and automatic transmission that shifts smooth. The car is so untouched it still has its original carb that is tagged Avanti. There was over $20K spent on this car mechanically by the previous owner. It is also sitting on its original wheels and hubcaps with a set of like new white wall tires! This is an ultra rare classic car that is only going up in value as time goes on. They only made a total of 4,643 Avanti's in the total run between 1963 and 1964 and who knows how many are still left in this kind of condition. Only 1,552 were R2 supercharged. The Air Conditioner works and blows Cold, but it does not blow Ice Cold like it should. It is Loaded with All the Options that you can think of and all of the Power Options work just like they should. One cool Option that this W140 has and not all of them do is the Heated & Reclining Rear Seat, how cool is that…;-)This car runs and drive Great and 10-15 mins later will start running poorly as seen in Video.. I have been told it is Cat Converters and there is that smell... I am also told it could be MAF Sensor I dont know and am selling the car as is as you see in the video. I really like these Grey Market Cars that were custom ordered and shipped here from Germany. It will crack over and will run with some fuel but then dies after a minute or two. The exterior of this car is beautiful. The White Paint looks pretty good. I do believe that the front end has been repainted. The clear coat is peeling in a few spots as you will see in the video. The body on this car looks so cool with the Euro Bumpers. It gives it more character and does make it stand out a little more than the others..;-) These little two door cars have a very sporty feel to them and handle like a dream. All of the Chrome is in Great Shape and shines beautifully in the sun. The wheel wells still have the Original Factory Undercoating. Mercedes Bunt Wheels. Cooper Lifeliner Tires on Front lots of tread and little tittes on the sides, Pireli P4000 on back have a little dry rot and should be replacedOptions:Automatic Euro Cloth Interior Power Windows Vacuum Locks Sun Roof Factory Air Conditioning The Interior is clean and the Euro Clothe Interior will need to be done at some point but the seats still have lots of cushion and spring left in them. The car will crank but will not start without using a fuel bottle We drained the tank but think we have a relay out or a bad Fuel Pump. It will fire off and run if you hook a bottle with fuel in it. It just won’t pump the fuel up from the tank. This is the main issue that I know of with the car. make sure and watch the video below, I go thru the whole car and show you anything and everything about it. Its Very clean on the interior and Faded on the outside as you will see in the Video. Has a fuel delivery issue. Some of the rubberized undercoating is coming off. Paint on hood is dry and faded along with other spots too. So spots on the paint is checkering. Misc dings and chips/scratches. Back passenger quarter has a scrape/ding. Corrosion on the chrome wheels. Missing a lug nut on 2 different wheels. Little corrosion on doors by the rubber trim pieces. This car is super clean inside and out. Check out my store for more great Unique and Classic Cars.Look at the Carfax Report Make sure and check out the Video below.This is a super clean W140. You can tell from first glance that this car has been babied its whole life. It did not take much to detail this car and it just looks so good. The paint looks beautiful and it is hard to find many imperfections on it. It has the California Chrome Package on it with the factory tinted window that give this Benz even more character and class. This is my favorite model of car ever built. The W140’s are known for their class and luxury and this car is no exception. I have been driving it around the last couple of weeks and the only thing I have had to do is put gas in it…;-) If you get a Mercedes like this one that you know has been taken care of and well maintained and you keep up with the proper maintenance and care. It’s going to last you a long time. These cars were built to last and if you had one in the mid 90’s you were the man. This car is a true luxury that cost over $100,000 brand new. Michelin Premises MX4 Tires with lots of tread left on them. It looks like they were replaced not to long before they traded it in. On The Chrome Mercedes Wheels that look great & shine like there’s no tomorrow. A little on the drivers seat from getting in and out, but that is about it, The back seats are still like new and doesn't look like anyone ever really rode back there,. Even the light grey carpet barely sow any wear. They previous owner kept the floormats protected with the plastic film and even put it on the kick guards to keep them from getting scratched up. It came with most all of the books and manuals (there could be something missing to totally sure). All of the power options function properly and the vacuum close doors still work like new. The Air Conditioning Blows Cold but not ice cold like it should, it may need a recharge at some point.
