1962 Studebaker Champ Short Box Pick Up - 259ci V8 - Very Rare and Desirable!! Believed to be Original Service Truck For Lions Drag Strip!!! Here is a very unique and rare 1962 Studebaker Champ short box pickup. This truck is believed one of the original service trucks for the world famous Lions Drag Strip in Wilmington, CA. The track was very well known, open from 1955 to 1972. This is a rare truck as it was a limited production truck only built for 4 years and is one of only 7,000 built in '62. It is a nice blue plate California / Arizona truck with a super straight body. The truck is very nicely restored and was done a few years ago. It is very nicely equipped with the original 259ci V8, 4-speed manual trans and short box bed. This truck is very clean and all correct!! The truck is in what I would call it's original condition with just the right amount of patina. I do not have any documentation proving it was one of the actual service trucks for Lions drag strip. Everyone has different opinions. Some people from Southern California do remember seeing the truck at the track in the 60's and some people say it's a tribute truck. I just don't know or have proof. The truck its self points to being the real deal and the painted lettering is very old and has been on the truck for many decades. Also it has a very large 50 plus gallon fuel tank, which would make sense to have at a race track. Lastly the bed in the truck is not all beat up as it would for an all out work truck. This truck looks to have had one repaint decades ago and is showing its age but on the positive it has the patina look everyone is paying to have done. The chrome on the bumpers are original and have patina. The grille is original and in good shape. All the glass in excellent shape. The body is very straight. It is a very good looking truck. It has its original wheels and old vintage bias ply tires. The interior is in excellent condition with redone seats and door panels. The dash is very clean and has its correct steering wheel. The gauge cluster is original and all the gauges work. Mechanically, the engine runs very nicely and it is a pleasure to drive. The original 259ci engine runs great. All and all, this is a very unique and rare truck. That makes a great conversation piece. It is perfect to use, put in your collection or racing museum. Studebaker : Commander Coupe Beautifully restored 1955 Studebaker Commander Coupe 259 V-8

1955 Studebaker Commander Coupe This car was purchased in 2014 from a seller in Minnesota. It is being sold as part of an estate sale. Unfortunately we do not have the paperwork showing when it was restored or what all has been done during the restoration process. It does have a clean Oregon title with permanent Minnesota collector plates. The title reads 19,221 miles which was a misprint at time of title change. The actual odometer reads 17,912 miles. This car runs and drives beautifully with a 259 V-8 with overdrive and 3 on the tree column shift. It has a four barrel carburetor, new dual exhaust from the manifold back, running 185 hp. This car looks great and stands out. Runs very smooth and doesn't smoke or overheat. Motor sounds very nice. It's been garaged and everything work great all the way down to the horn. The am radio does work, but you can only use the push buttons to change stations. The knobs do not move the radio dial. The drivers side window does have about a 5" crack and needs to be adjusted and could use new rubber around the wing window. It can be a little tuff to roll up. The interior is in excellent condition and show no wear. The body of this beauty is straight and chromed out! Like any car it does have a few imperfections. Which I have posted pictures of. There are a few chips around the drivers side headlight ring and a 1" scratch on the chrome front bumper. On the passenger side the front fender has a little chipping where it meets the door panel. Wheels and tires are in great shape. Tires are like new. The hood has been recently repainted, but if you look close enough the color is off just a hair. Most people don't even notice it. As for the mechanics of this car, they are excellent with very few problems. The belts and hoses are in good condition and the valve cover gasket is dry. The rear wheel cylinder on the passengers side leaks a little. Motor is very clean, however there were a few drops of fluid under it when I moved it. Its been sitting in the same spot for a couple of months. We recommend serious buyers have the car inspected. We are not experts on cars in anyway and we have not had this car inspected. 1921 Studebaker Big Six Seven Passenger Touring. This 1921 Studebaker big six touring is in original un-restored cosmetic condition. The car belonged to Earl Shelton, a Chicago based gangster in the 1920's. It was purchased in 1951 by a collector at his Estate Auction. It was placed up on jackstands and covered until 2008. The story was written up in Old Cars Weekly. It was discovered and purchased from the collector's widow and put back on the road. The Big Six engine has been re-babbited and re-built. It is not detailed and still wears whatever is left of it's original grey paint. The car runs strong. It has been stored for about 1 year now. Since the photos were taken new BF Goodrich 34x5 tires were installed on the rear. Lucas 33x4.5 tires (Old Dunlop Tread) were installed on the 2 spares and on the front. The top material is (aged) The leather upholstery is nice. The paint appears to be original. Running well, very fast car for the time, loads of pick-up, more so than any other car I've owned of this period, it's uncanny. Last driven May 10th 2015. Comes with notebook containing the history of the car and shop manual. 354 in³ (5.8-liter) Straight-6 engine that produces 65 bhp at 2000 rpm. Original sale price $2,150. In the 1920s, twelve of the fourteen Arizona counties issued Studebakers to their sheriffs, because of their reputation for power, reliability, and ability to withstand hard use and bad roads. In 1925, the company published a pamphlet about the Arizona sheriffs' Studebakers, and named their Big Six Sport Phaeton model the Sheriff. At the 1924 New York Auto Show, Studebaker featured a 1918 Big Six that had a verified odometer reading of over 500,000 miles (800,000 km), as a testament to the longevity and durability of Studebaker vehicles.

Only 100 vehicles are selected for this show! Body tag indicates: 7C = 1941, W = 4-door sedan, 3 = built spring of 1941 and 797 = body style! This car was treated to a very extensive no expense spared restoration a few years ago. MS CLASSIC CARS has recently invested roughly $15,000.00 completely re-restoring the engine compartment, trunk compartment and undercarriage. We also gave the exterior and interior some attention to detail! The exterior body is very straight with great gaps. The two tone brown paint color combination is beautiful! Mostly everything on the exterior was restored or replaced and is in great condition. The glass appears to be new and is in excellent condition. All of the exterior lights works accept the rear plate light. Even the emblems and bumper pieces have the painted correct red stripes! The car sits perfectly on orange steel wheels with chrome hub caps and brand new Lester 7.00 x 16 bias ply’s. These tires were $1600.00 alone. The orange wheels also complement the exterior colors so beautifully! The tan interior is very rich and elegant. Everything in the interior has been restored or replaced and is in great condition. Such items include the headliner, dash, steering wheel, door panels, seats, seat belts, carpet and floor mats. All of the windows roll up and down effortlessly. Everything works as it should including the clock. The dash temperature gauge isn’t reading correctly but there is a second temperature gauge under the dash that does work great. My shop did a little cosmetic work to the interior to bring it to the level you see in the photos below! The trunk compartment is very neat and clean. My shop actually completely restored the entire trunk compartment. It has the spare tire and tire jack tools! The engine compartment is highly detailed and home to the 250.4 cubic inch L head eight cylinder engine that produces 117 HP. Everything was rebuilt or replaced during the restoration. My shop completely re-restored the engine compartment cosmetically from top to bottom. They pulled the engine and everything else out so every piece could be stripped and repainted. The engine was also completely tuned including new sparks plugs, fluids, etc. Although it has the original style fuel pump an electric fuel pump was installed for easy starting. This car starts almost immediately and purrs like a kitten. It runs at 180 degrees all the time with no overheating issues. The battery is brand new. Search the internet for any 1941 vehicle and you’ll find not many engine compartments look like this one! The engine is coupled to a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive. This car cruises at 60 MPH smoothly! The steering system is a symmetrical direct-action linkage with variable-ratio gear. It’s easy to steer and very tight! The undercarriage is also highly detailed. Everything was rebuilt or replaced during the restoration. My shop completely re-restored the entire undercarriage cosmetically from top to bottom. The frame is a double drop steel with partial box section side rails and straight x-member. The front suspension is independent, planar with transverse leaf spring enclosed in grease packed metal cover with shock absorbers. The rear suspension is a solid axle, 8 leaf semielliptic springs enclosed in grease packed metal cover with Houdaille lever shock absorbers. This car drives and handles amazing down the road! I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only at the auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. Every year the attendance of visitors at the event and number of viewers on T.V. increase. Over the years I've noticed that the extremely detailed classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Currently the overall market is on the raise once again. Certain classic cars are on the rise and others are on the decline. Typically, the classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people don't own. In other words, there are classic cars that haven't saturated the market. The cars that are at every car show and auction and page on the Internet for sale are the ones that aren't changing in value or are slowly on the decline. Of course, if the car is spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. It's all about supply and demand, not a good or bad economy. Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character. “I’m putting my money where my mouth is” I’m just a 38 year old blue collar guy who was working full time selling new and used Mercedes Benz. I was selling my classic cars and trucks part time. Although I had my used car dealers license I didn’t have a facility that was open to the public. Overall things were going just fine. However, my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership. I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership. I had to invest a ton of money to make that happen and now have a lot more overhead. Description1941 Studebaker President Sedan VERY RARE! VERY RARE! VERY RARE! This is 1 of only 7,801 built in 1941! Invited to the Radnor Hunt Concour D’Elegance in 2010. Only 100 vehicles are selected for this show! Body tag indicates: 7C = 1941, W = 4-door sedan, 3 = built spring of 1941 and 797 = body style! This car was treated to a very extensive no expense spared restoration a few years ago. MS CLASSIC CARS has recently invested roughly $15,000.00 completely re-restoring the engine compartment, trunk compartment and undercarriage. We also gave the exterior and interior some attention to detail! The exterior body is very straight with great gaps. The two tone brown paint color combination is beautiful! Mostly everything on the exterior was restored or replaced and is in great condition. The glass appears to be new and is in excellent condition. All of the exterior lights works accept the rear plate light. Even the emblems and bumper pieces have the painted correct red stripes! The car sits perfectly on orange steel wheels with chrome hub caps and brand new Lester 7.00 x 16 bias ply’s. These tires were $1600.00 alone. The orange wheels also complement the exterior colors so beautifully! The tan interior is very rich and elegant. Everything in the interior has been restored or replaced and is in great condition. Such items include the headliner, dash, steering wheel, door panels, seats, seat belts, carpet and floor mats. All of the windows roll up and down effortlessly. Everything works as it should including the clock. The dash temperature gauge isn’t reading correctly but there is a second temperature gauge under the dash that does work great. My shop did a little cosmetic work to the interior to bring it to the level you see in the photos below! The trunk compartment is very neat and clean. My shop actually completely restored the entire trunk compartment. It has the spare tire and tire jack tools! The engine compartment is highly detailed and home to the 250.4 cubic inch L head eight cylinder engine that produces 117 HP. Everything was rebuilt or replaced during the restoration. My shop completely re-restored the engine compartment cosmetically from top to bottom. They pulled the engine and everything else out so every piece could be stripped and repainted. The engine was also completely tuned including new sparks plugs, fluids, etc. Although it has the original style fuel pump an electric fuel pump was installed for easy starting. This car starts almost immediately and purrs like a kitten. It runs at 180 degrees all the time with no overheating issues. The battery is brand new. Search the internet for any 1941 vehicle and you’ll find not many engine compartments look like this one! The engine is coupled to a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive. This car cruises at 60 MPH smoothly! The steering system is a symmetrical direct-action linkage with variable-ratio gear. It’s easy to steer and very tight! The undercarriage is also highly detailed. Everything was rebuilt or replaced during the restoration. My shop completely re-restored the entire undercarriage cosmetically from top to bottom. The frame is a double drop steel with partial box section side rails and straight x-member. The front suspension is independent, planar with transverse leaf spring enclosed in grease packed metal cover with shock absorbers. The rear suspension is a solid axle, 8 leaf semielliptic springs enclosed in grease packed metal cover with Houdaille lever shock absorbers. This car drives and handles amazing down the road! This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different. The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages. Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration. An example would be a classic vehicle that's being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc. Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored. There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components. GOOD The body of this Hawk is exceptional featuring an excellent earlier respray over what appears to be a totally rust and bondo free body (Mill guage readings are as good as they get with no abnormally high readings). The chrome shows well with VERY light pitting--basically barely noticeable. The red cloth interior (including the padded dash) is excellent. With a good detail this car could move right onto our showroom, it's that nice!
