Additionally, the 2014 GTI only comes with Candy White, Carbon Gray or Deep Black paint. Base and Autobahn trim levels have been replaced with Wolfsburg Edition and Driver's Edition trims, which have similar standard equipment. Introduction The 2014 Volkswagen GTI is a compact hatchback that manages to be classy, practical and fun all at the same time. This is the final year for the sixth-generation VW GTI (an all-new GTI arrives for 2015), and Volkswagen is only selling it as a four-door this year, and only with black, white or gray paint. Although the new GTI looks to be pretty enticing, the swan-song 2014 GTI is still a very appealing and grown-up small car with plenty of entertainment potential. Within the small population of small but sporty hatchbacks, the GTI aspires to a higher class. The quality of its interior surfaces, its overall fit and finish, and even the comfort level of the seats make it feel like a more expensive car than it actually is. The same goes for its ride quality: The GTI is far more compliant and forgiving than many of the cars it competes with, and this makes it a more viable choice for commuters. Further increasing its appeal is its available automated-manual dual-clutch gearbox, which effectively exploits the performance potential of the car's potent turbocharged four-cylinder engine while making this hot hatch more accessible to households where not everyone wants to deal with a clutch pedal. Of course, no car is perfect, and the main knock against the current Volkswagen GTI has always been its somewhat sleepy handling. Compared with harder-edged rivals like the 2014 Ford Focus ST, 2014 Mini Cooper S and 2014 Subaru WRX, it simply isn't as entertaining when driven hard. It feels softer and less controlled going around turns, and its steering has less feedback. The fact that you can't fully disable the VW's stability control also makes it less desirable for buyers who might want to participate in the occasional track day. On the other hand, none of these competitors offer anywhere near the level of refinement and comfort that the GTI does, and save for the Mini, none offer an automatic-transmission option. For consumers drawn to a more balanced approach to performance, the 2014 Volkswagen GTI is still a great choice for a sporty hatchback. No Video Content Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options The 2014 Volkswagen GTI is a high-performance version of the Golf hatchback. Only the four-door version is offered this year, and there's seating for five. There are two trim levels: Wolfsburg Edition and Driver's Edition. The Wolfsburg Edition GTI's standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear roof spoiler, foglights, heated outside mirrors, heated washer nozzles, full power accessories, a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, a trip computer, air-conditioning, heated front sport seats, plaid cloth upholstery, split-folding rear seats with a center pass-through, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, and an eight-speaker sound system with a CD player, satellite radio, an auxiliary audio jack and iPod integration (via VW's proprietary MDI cable). The Driver's Edition adds adaptive xenon headlights, LED running lights, a sunroof, multifunction steering wheel controls, leather-trimmed sport seats and a touchscreen audio interface with a navigation system. Powertrains and Performance The front-wheel-drive 2014 Volkswagen GTI is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a six-speed dual-clutch automated manual (called DSG) is optional. The DSG operates like an automatic transmission, but it can be shifted manually via the shift lever or the shift paddles on the steering wheel. In Edmunds testing, a manual-shift GTI went from zero to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, while a GTI with the DSG covered the same ground in 6.4 seconds: a good number for sporty compact cars in this price range. The EPA rates the GTI at 25 mpg combined (21 mpg city/31 mpg highway) with the manual gearbox and 27 mpg combined (24/32) when equipped with the DSG. Safety Standard safety equipment for the 2014 Volkswagen GTI includes antilock brakes, stability control and traction control, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety testing, the GTI earned a top rating of "Good" in moderate-overlap frontal-offset, side-impact and roof-strength tests. Its seat/head restraint design was also rated "Good" for whiplash protection in rear impacts. In Edmunds performance testing, braking from 60 to zero mph required 125 feet. That's longer than average for a small car with all-season tires and about 10 feet longer than the summer-tire-equipped competitors in the sport-compact class. Interior Design and Special Features Among sporty hatchbacks, the 2014 GTI ranks at the top for interior quality. The retro-style plaid seat fabric on the base trim won't suit everyone, but the cabin reflects a cool and sophisticated design, featuring upscale Audi-esque trim and switchgear throughout. The Ford Focus might come close, but in general, you won't find better materials in this price range. There are a couple downsides, including a lack of useful interior storage and the navigation system's small screen, which makes it harder to view the map and limits its overall usefulness. The front seats are sporty and supportive, whether cruising or driving hard, while the rear seats offer a surprising amount of headroom and legroom for adults. Behind the rear seats, the cargo area holds up to 15.2 cubic feet -- nearly three times that of the Mini Cooper S, but less than a Focus hatchback. Once the rear seat is folded down, 46 cubic feet of cargo capacity is at your disposal. Driving Impressions The 2014 Volkswagen GTI delivers one of the best overall driving experiences in the class. The turbocharged engine is lively and unloads plenty of useful low-end torque. Although the conventional manual transmission is fun and easy to shift, the DSG transmission provides the convenience of an automatic and still makes the car feel quick, especially when you use the shift paddles to call up manual gearchanges. The cabin is quiet, and the compliant suspension makes for a smooth and solid ride. Driven on twisty back roads, the GTI is fun up to a point. But there's no question that cars like the Focus ST and Cooper S feel livelier and have higher handling limits. In the event that this Order is not completed for any reason or in the event that it is rescinded for any reason, Seller agrees that Buyer may retain the proceeds of the sale of the Trade to offset its damages, if any. No breach of this Order by Buyer shall be deemed waived unless such waiver is agreed to by Seller in writing. The parties agree that any modification of this Order must be made in writing and signed by the parties in order to be valid. Buyer agrees that if the Vehicle is to be shipped, that shipping is Buyer’s responsibility. To the extent that Seller assists Buyer in arranging for shipping, such arrangements are made as a courtesy to Buyer and do not create any liability or responsibility on the part of Seller. Contact Orhan with any questions 267-259-7544What it is: The car is a 2014 Volkswagen GTI Driver's Edition. The special Driver's Edition is the "Autobahn" model from 2013. The special model features a few unique touches, like a Golf-ball shaped and indented shifter for both transmissions, red-edged seat belts, honeycomb pattern doorsill plates, and honeycomb/aluminum trim pieces. Exterior: The car is much larger in person than it is in photos. Even though it's a hatchback, it looks very sporty from the outside. The tires are very low-profile, and the wheels stand out. The red accents on both the grille and brake calipers look nice, and at the back, the chrome dual-exhaust pipes stand out when they are polished and clean. One other stand out feature is the headlamps. They are very detailed, and they also have adaptive beams, which turn when you turn the wheel to illuminate corners better. I have used this feature often and it makes a large difference in visibility. The taillamps are normal bulbs, and the license plate lights are actually LED's. The wheels on this car are called Lagunas. Interior: The inside of the GTI is one of the nicest and most premium interiors for the money. There are many nice touches in there, such as how all the trim on the knobs, steering wheel, window and mirror controls, and shifter are all real metal, not plastic. Everything is well put together, and everything has soft-touch materials. Also, it's much roomier than most expect in there. I'm 6'1" and I have a ton of legroom and headroom. The seat is moved up quite a bit for me. The seats themselves look very nice, and they have small "GTI" logos on the headrests. There are 3 level heated seats, and the highest level gets really hot. The wheel is the most amazing part. It's flat-bottomed, and the perfect size. It gives great grip, and the red stitching with the perforated leather gives it a great look. There is also red stitching on the shift-knob, and the edges of the seatbelts. The pedals, are aluminum-trimmed, give great grip. Even though the car is premium-feeling, it is quite basic. This goes with the character of the original GTI, and how it should be a simple and mechanically good car. The light switch has two options-on or off. There are no automatic headlights. The infotainment screen is a good size, and the GPS is intuitive, and gets the job done easily. It works great for AM/FM/XM, and the iPod adapter is surprisingly fast. It even has bluetooth audio. There is a bluetooth hands free system with voice commands. Again, it's simple, but it works very well. The climate system is also basic. It's single zone, but honestly in a vehicle this size it would be pointless to have dual zone. There are only 4 fan speeds, less than most cars, but each setting gives a perfect amount of air. At night, the controls are lit up red, and it is very bright. There are ambient lights that also look great, they flood the cabin with a warm red tone. The gauges are what I specifically love, because they don't show the Kilometer speeds. There is a setting in the center display for that, and it makes the gauge look much neater. They are clear to read overall. The multi-function display is large and has a lot of features, from all of the basic trip-computer functions to readouts of audio/phone/navigation directions if in use. This is great to minimize distraction, since everything that is done on the radio unit can be done thru the steering wheel controls to that center screen. There's even a feature to turn on the footwell lights on that screen, you can even adjust the brightness by percent on there. Ride quality is amazing, it is a very comfortable car to be in. Of course it has a sport suspension, but it is still very comfortable. Performance: Even though this car is an automatic, It's a DSG, or Dual-Clutch transmission! The best way to describe it is having two manual transmissions combined into one, where one clutch operates R, 2, 4, 6 and the other clutch operates 1, 3, 5. This results in the car having ultra fast shift times, and in a full manual mode, both the shifter and paddle shifting feels amazing. There is even a launch control program with rev-matching. It turns the traction control off, and limits the revs to 3k. It's quite simple to use. Turn off traction control, shift to "S" below D and manual mode, hold brake, rev, let go of brake, tires scream! Another nice feature is the ability to downshift in D mode or even upshift if you feel like doing so. This will last for 20 seconds and then the car will go back into D. As far as the engine goes, the GTI features a 2.0 Litre turbocharged L4. It puts out 210HP and 207 Lbs/Ft of torque. There isn't any turbo lag either. The throttle is extremely responsive, and acceleration is great. 0-60 counts in anywhere from 5.7-.6.0 seconds, without modifications. Great power band from the engine, and a great engine note. One thing I dislike would be what's known as a "Soundaktor", which is basically a speaker in the engine bay that makes the car sound more powerful and muscular. Handling is great on this car, but that is expected on a car this size. Overall the car is incredibly stable in poor conditions, such as heavy rain or roads with black ice. There isn't much understeer from the FWD layout, which most other cars of that layout have. There is a cross-differential system (XDS) in the GTI that transfers power to either wheel depending on conditions. The system works great. The brakes feel great, and under heavy breaking the car remains very stable. There isn't any leaning from the front end under breaking. Suspension is sporty yet comfortable, and under hard cornering the GTI doesn't lean at all, the car always remains level. All the performance tests were demonstrated on the test car.

This amazing car has the interior room of a much larger vehicle and the 2.0 turbo engine and tuned suspension gives it performance on par with much more expensive sports coupes. The vehicle was dealer maintained from the first owner up to 90k miles with all the reports to prove it. It was then owned by gentlemen in the Military that shipped this vehicle to Germany. Who else can say their GTI has been Autobahn tested! While it was in Germany, at 100k miles, it had the belts, plugs, wires, ignition coils, decarb'd, engine oil, transmission oil and air filter changed at the local VW dealer. It just had an oil change less than 100 miles ago as well and will be good for another 5000 miles. This car is in excellent shape inside and out. It has brand new tires on the rear and the front tires have about 60% tread remaining. The tires are very nice Continental ExtremeContact DWS in 225/45/17's. It still has all the original tools, jack, first aid kit, wheel lock, safety road triangle, and three sets of keys including the valet. I also just had the windows lightly tinted this month. This car has been completely stock since new and has always had adult owners. It runs, drives, and idles just like it came off the showroom floor. The DSG transmission shifts smoothly in auto mode and nice and firm in Sport Mode using the paddle shifters behind the wheel. I have owned many cars and this is the nicest car I have ever seen with over 100k miles and under $10k. It has never been smoked in or in an accident. The stock Huff's (wheels) have been plasti-dipped anthracite with several coats of their clear sealant.
