Options: Finished in polar white and tan leather upholstery, this VERY CLEAN 2004 Volvo S80 features about everything that you expect in this Swedish sport sedan beginning with the smooth and responsive 2.9 L DOHC 6-cylinder teamed with a 4-speed automatic transaxle, driver, passenger, side and roof SRS (air bags), automatic climate control featuring a factory R134a refrigerant charge, 4-wheel ABS (anti-lock brakes), Volvo’s own SIPS (Side Impact Protection System), factory sunroof, power windows, central locking system, power mirrors, power seats, factory alloy wheels, factory sound system, 4-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, rear window defroster, folding rear seats, driver’s information center, service reminder system, factory security system, and much more!   Yet ANOTHER Clean Southern Ride!   This vehicle is riding on a very good set of Michelin® tires. Service and Inspection Report – Value Added: We brought this clean Volvo in for service and found that the prior owner had taken great care of the car.  It appears to have been regularly serviced and traded in about the time that you would normally do a major service on the vehicle. We stared by installing a NEW TIMING BELT, TENSIONER and IDLER PULLEY.  These are the major components of the timing belt system.  That’s done for you.  While doing timing belts, we replace spark plugs since it is a good time to freshen up everything on the engine.  We installed Denso® brand plugs so you won’t have to be concerned with that service, either. We changed the engine air filter and vacuumed the road debris that can accumulate in the air box. It appears that the prior owner had recently done an oil change and the oil looks clean. We also noted that the idler wheel on the serpentine belt was a bit noisy at startup (that’s the part that keeps the belt tensioned) so we replaced the idler wheel and bearing assembly. Moving along to the chassis, the front brakes were about half worn so we replaced front brake rotors and pads.  The rear brakes were about half worn too, so we replaced the rear pads. Moving along the outside of the vehicle, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear, and also on the headlight wipers. We finished up this vehicle be changing the cabin air filter.  It is a job that you want done every year and we’ve taken care of that for you. Service and Inspection Report – Value Added: We brought this clean Volvo in for service and found that the prior owner had taken great care of the car.  It appears to have been regularly serviced.   Since we could not verify the mileage for the last timing belt, we did the service.  Doing the job right, we installed NEW CAM SEALS, NEW VVT O-RINGS, NEW TIMING BELT, tensioner and idler wheel.  When we do timing belts, we replace the spark plugs and we installed a new set of Denso® brand plugs.  That’s a major service and it’s done for you!   Using our Snap-On Solus® diagnostic scanner, we noticed some shift solenoid codes which are common on the AW-55 transmission.  What happens is that the electronic shift solenoids stick and the shift quality is not as good as when new.  However, the transmissions in these vehicles can go a long time with service.  So, we replaced the electronic shift solenoids in the valve body and did a complete transmission fluid change using the correct Mobile 3309 fluid.  This procedure took care of the codes, and now shifts as designed.   Test driving the vehicle after the transmission service, we noticed a slight vibration at highway speeds under load.  That’s a sign of the drive axle needing service, so we replaced both front drive axles with remanufactured units.  No more vibration!   While changing the drive axles, we changed the top engine mount as well as the lower right.  Over time both are about ready for change at this mileage and we did both of them for you.    The prior owner had recently done an oil change and the service label indicates that the next oil change is at 149k miles.   On the chassis, we noted a noise from the front suspension and traced it down to the coil spring mount.  We pulled both struts and replaced the mounts and bearings for you – no more noise.   While we had the vehicle apart for service, we noted that the vehicle had close to new brakes, front and rear.   Moving along the outside of the vehicle, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear.   As we drove the vehicle, the climate control worked fine but we heard the occasional chirp noise from the blower motor.  So, yes we did, we replaced the blower motor so that you wouldn’t have to be bothered by the job.   We finished up this vehicle be changing the cabin air filter.  It is a job that you want done every year and we’ve taken care of that for you.   Shop around and then ADD IT UP!  Why buy one that needs work?  How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself?  The items that we serviced would easily cost you $4,500 if you did all of this after the sale.    You can always pay less.  Just click the “back” button and buy something else?  However, if you are looking for a better value, buy from Grove.  That’s the Grove Automotive Group, Inc. difference. Service and Inspection Report: We brought this very clean Volvo in for service and didn’t find a lot to do. The prior owner had taken very good care of the vehicle and the paint, interior and vehicle show very well. For starters, we did an oil/filter change using the correct Volvo sealing washer on the drain plug, along with a new engine cap oil seal. Volvo makes the maintenance very inexpensive on these vehicles by specifying convention oil. While we had the oil out, we noticed that the dipstick end was a little brittle so we installed an new engine oil dipstick. We also installed a new timing belt, seals, tensioner and idler so that you know that’s done. We install new spark plugs when we do timing belts. We use Denso® brand plugs which are original equipment on most Volvos. Moving along to the chassis, we found the brakes good, both front and rear. Turning out attention to the climate control, we checked the system and it operates as designed. We installed a new cabin air filter for you. Going around the vehicle, we replaced the LH lower tail light as it had a small crack and also installed new headlight wiper blades. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. For sale is my 1993 Volvo 240 wagon. It has 225k on the odometer but this was replaced by the previous owner and the car actually has about 255k (I have this documentation). I have high confidence in the reliability of this vehicle, I drove it from Maine to Wyoming two summers ago and from Maine to Newfoundland last summer. Super clean interior, runs great and has good power (for a 240). I will list some of the work done below and I would love to talk to any potential buyers over phone or e-mail for more specifics. I have loved owning this car and have maintained it to a high standard. Work done in the 2.5 years I've owned it, in no particular order with many things probably forgotten: - New Clutch - All new rear suspension bushings - Replaced springs with overload springs from IPD, this enables you to load cargo into it without sagging the rear end way down. Most old 240's have a sagging rear end even without cargo and the new bushings and springs solved that. - New brakes front and rear (pads, calipers, rotors) fronts were just done this summer. Before the front calipers were replaced I was having an occasional ABS light, in doing the front brakes my mechanic diagnosed a failed ABS system. He converted the brakes back to non-ABS which is actually a huge improvement even over properly functioning early Volvo ABS. - All new engine seals including rear main (PVC system serviced as well). I have no tolerance for leaking oil. - I replaced the seats with seats from an 84 turbo wagon with just over 100k on it. I couldn't resist, in my view they are the nicest seats Volvo ever made. In the interest of full disclosure the frame on the drivers seat is slightly tweaked. Its unnoticeable sitting in it and it took me several weeks after installing the seats to even catch it. Center armrest added as well. - All new ignition system from coil to plugs, new voltage regulator on alternator. - New fuel filter and fuel pump relay - Tachometer, small clock, and ambient temp gauge added. Temp compensation board fixed to provide accurate engine temp readings - Summer tires have 10k on them, comes with a second set of wheels with studded snows. I also have the OEM hubcaps, I just liked the looks without them. - Suspension sway bars were upgraded with sway bars from a GT. This greatly improved cornering and the car drives great. I still have the OEM sway bars and will include them in case the buyer wants to return it to stock. There is a bunch of other work and I have receipts from my ownership plus some from the previous ownership. As I mentioned, I have maintained it to a high standard. You could drive it as is for quite a while but if you want it to be perfect, here is what I know it needs: Needs: - AC worked until this summer when I broke a line attempting to swap in a new seal. If you had an AC shop braze the line back together I am confident it would work again, I never really used it anyways. - Rear wiper does not work - Cruise control stopped working last week - Replaced the rear torque arm bushings with poly bushings, they make some noise unless they are greased occasionally. The fix would be to swap them back to OEM rubber, it doesn't really bother me. These are pretty minor issues and if you are buying a 23 year old car then you probably want to do a little tinkering. The main reason for sale is the purchase of a 1990 Saab SPG and I couldn't justify maintaining two old Swedish automobiles. Title is in hand. Service and Inspection Report: We brought this clean S60 into the shop for service and found things to be in very good order. We did go ahead and perform the major service items so you know that they have been done. For starters, we did an oil/filter change, installing a correct aluminum sealing washer on the drain plug. We also installed a new seal on the oil cap since the original had become hard and brittle. Volvo allows you to service the seal separately from the cap. Additionally, Volvo specifies conventional oil in these vehicles making your maintenance costs quite low. Since we had already removed most of the components and cleaned the engine, we decided to install a NEW TIMING BELT that included belt, tensioner and idler pulley. This vehicle was still wearing the original belt, so, as usual, we installed a new one for you. We always replace spark plugs using Denso™ brand when doing timing belts on Volvo vehicles and those are new, as well. Finishing up under the hood, we checked the air filter and vacuumed out the air intake box. Those tend to accumulate debris like leaves and sand, so we cleaned that out for you. Looking over the chassis, the front brakes were about half pad, so we installed new front pads for you. The rear pads look fine. Most dealers would have just “let ‘er go” but half pad is time for replacement in my book. Going over the climate control system, everything seemed to be in good order. We changed the cabin air filter for you. On the interior, the center tray that houses the cup holders was broken. We went ahead and installed a new assembly for you and that required us to remove the console to perform the repair. Most dealers would have just “let ‘er go” and talked about dogs or rhubarb pie to distract you from the broken console. Not us. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades. Yet ANOTHER Clean Alabama Ride! This vehicle is riding on a good set of tires! Service and Inspection Report: We brought this nice XC70 in for service and found things in very good order. We did a few things to make the car “just right”. For starters, we did an oil/filter change, installing a correct aluminum sealing washer on the drain plug. We also installed a new seal on the oil cap since the original had become hard and brittle. Volvo allows you to service the seal separately from the cap. Using our Snap-On Solus® diagnostic scanner, we noticed some shift solenoid codes which are common on the early AW-55 transmission. What happens is that the electronic shift solenoids stick and the shift quality is not as good as when new. However, the transmissions in these vehicles can go a long time with service. So, we replaced the electronic shift solenoids in the valve body and did a complete transmission fluid change using the correct Mobile 3309 fluid. This procedure took care of the codes, and now shifts as designed. While under the vehicle, we noticed that one of the motor mounts was soft so we replaced it. Most dealers would have “let ‘er go” but we don’t mind doing a little extra so you don’t have to. Finishing up under the hood, we checked the air filter and vacuumed out the air intake box. Those tend to accumulate debris like leaves and sand, so we cleaned that out for you. Looking over the chassis, the brakes looked good, both front and rear. Going over the climate control system, everything seemed to be in good order. We changed the cabin air filter for you. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. Shop around and then ADD IT UP! Why buy one that needs work? How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself? Roomy and comfortable, this vehicle is equipped with the highly sought 2.4 L DOHC 5-cylinder turbo teamed with the 5-speed automatic Asin-Warner (AW55) transaxle. Topping all of this off, it is ALL WHEEL DRIVE (AWD). Don’t be confused between the XC70 and the V70. Only the XC70 is all-wheel-drive. This vehicle came available and we purchased it. This vehicle is very clean and cared for. But, of course, you expect vehicles this nice from Grove Automotive Group, Inc.! Options: Finished in burgundy with a tan colored upholstery, this CLEAN 2002 Volvo XC70 AWD features about everything that you expect in this Swedish luxury wagon beginning with the smooth and responsive 2.4 L DOHC 5-cylinder turbo teamed with the 5-speed automatic Asin-Warner (AW55) transaxle, driver, passenger, side and roof SRS (air bags), electronically controlled ALL WHEEL DRIVE (AWD), automatic climate control featuring a factory R134a refrigerant charge, 4-wheel ABS (anti-lock brakes), Volvo’s own SIPS (Side Impact Protection System), factory sunroof, power windows, central locking system, power mirrors, power seats, factory alloy wheels, factory sound system, 4-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, rear window defroster, folding rear seats, driver’s information center, service reminder system, factory security system, and much more! Yet ANOTHER Clean Southern Ride! This vehicle is riding on a BRAND NEW set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring™ tires! Service and Inspection Report: We brought this nice XC70 in for service and found things in very good order. There were a few things in need of attention to bring it up to our standards. For starters, we did an oil/filter change, installing a correct aluminum sealing washer on the drain plug. We also installed a new seal on the oil cap since the original had become hard and brittle. Volvo allows you to service the seal separately from the cap. Continuing under the hood, we decided to install a NEW TIMING BELT that included belt, tensioner and idler pulley. We couldn’t determine if the belt had been changed, so, as usual, we installed a new one for you. We always replace spark plugs using Denso™ brand when doing timing belts on Volvo vehicles and those are new, as well. While servicing the timing belt, we noted that the lower outer motor mount was in need of replacement so we installed a new one. Those mounts are typically good for 10 years or so and rather than “let ‘er go” like most dealers, we put the new part in for you. Using our Snap-On Solus® diagnostic scanner, we noticed some shift solenoid codes which are common on the early AW-55 transmission. What happens is that the electronic shift solenoids stick and the shift quality is not as good as when new. However, the transmissions in these vehicles can go a long time with service. So, we replaced the electronic shift solenoids in the valve body and did a complete transmission fluid change using the correct Mobile 3309 fluid. This procedure took care of the codes, and now shifts as designed. Finishing up under the hood, we installed new hood lift struts since those kept the hood open, but in cold weather we had our doubts. Also, we inspected the air filter and vacuumed out the air intake box. Those tend to accumulate debris like leaves and sand, so we cleaned that out for you. Looking over the chassis, the brakes looked good, both front and rear. We did notice some noise coming from the suspension so we installed new upper strut mounts, spring seat isolators and sway bar bushings. Now, it is very tight. Going over the climate control system, everything seemed to be in good order. We changed the cabin air filter for you. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. Shop around and then ADD IT UP! Why buy one that needs work? How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself? While they were in there, one of the turbo boost hoses needed replacing so we serviced that, as well.
