I have for sale a blue 1967 Mercury Cougar. Motor is a healthy 1989 police interceptor 351W with a C4 automatic transmission. It runs well and drives well and even starts well. The power steering pump leaks and the steering is extra sensitive (not sure what is going on). It has Cragar SS wheels already on it that are in decent shape. The seats and carpet are in great condition but the dash and headliner need attention. The dash is partially disassembled but I have all the parts for it but it is a very good start. This car is a good start that just needs a little love. Asking $3950 obo. Very good price for what is already there

1967 Mercury Cougar--67,000 original documented miles. This car was stored in a garage in Gainesville,GA by the original owner from 1989-2008 when it transfered ownership to the grandson\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s father in-law whom I purchased it from. This car has been restored mechanically to better than showroom condition. It has the original 289 2bbl with new oil, water and fuel pumps, radiator, gas tank and lines, wheel cylinders, brakes and lines, all new hoses and clamps. Everything is all OEM and FoMoCo parts. The interior is immaculate with a new carpet w/underlayment, rearview mirror and side mirror. Headliner, seats, dash, instrument panel and door panels are all perfect. Has new replica 17x8 wheels with new 235/45/17 tires. This car runs, shifts, drives and stops like new. The paint has some dings and scratches but shows well for its 2nd paint job and its in its original color of burgandy. No rust except on driver side rear quarter behind wheel. This is 1 of 7,997 made in 67 with the top loader 4-speed so its a rare find. Much smoother than the previous Cougar, it featured flush-mounted headlights and grille. The side quarter glass retained its upswept design, but it was stretched more to the rear of the car. The interior remained mostly unchanged. The GS was dropped, leaving the LS and XR-7 models. The XR-7 changed by dropping the turbocharged I4, and the 302 V8 became the standard engine. The manual transmission was also dropped this year. The digital instrument cluster, previously optional on the GS/LS models, became standard with exception to the limited edition XR-7, which became analog only. The special lower tri-stripes and blacked-out window trim continued to set apart the XR-7 from the LS. The Cougar's 20th anniversary was highlighted by a limited-edition Cougar. With the new MN-12 chassis and new body style coming in 1989, the 1988 Cougar changed little from the previous year. Outside, the biggest change was the XR-7 now came in a new monochromatic color scheme. It was available in three colors (black, red, and white) with body-colored or optional argent-colored wheels. The base 232-in (3.8-L) V6 was revamped to include multiport fuel injection and an internal balance shaft that increased power to 140 hp (104 kW). The 302 V8 received a dual exhaust option, which added 5 hp (4 kW). The analog gauge cluster returned as standard on the XR-7, but the digital cluster remained as an option on both the LS and XR-7.

The Firebird was introduced the same year as the automaker's platform-sharing model, the Chevrolet Camaro. This coincided with the release of the 1967 Mercury Cougar, which shared its platform with another pony car, the Ford Mustang.   1979 version of the Firebird     The front end was restyled in 1979. It also marked the 10th Anniversary of the Trans Am, and a special anniversary package was made available: silver paint with gray upper paint accents and a silver leather interior. The 10th Anniversary cars also featured a special Firebird hood decal, which extended off of the hood and onto the front fenders. Pontiac produced 7,500 10th Anniversary cars, of which 1,817 were equipped with the Pontiac 400 engine (and coupled with the four-speed Borg Warner Super T-10 transmission). The only option on these cars was the engine (the 400 was not certified for California, nor was cruise control available with it), which dictated the transmission and the gear ratio (3.23 on the 400 cars, 2.73 on the 403 cars). In 1979 Pontiac sold 116,535 Trans Ams, the highest sold in a year.   Up until the 1979 models, the performance of 400-equipped Firebirds could still be brought up to near pre-1970 levels by removing the catalytic converter and opening up the block off plate to make the hood scoop functional. Static compression ratios dropped in the early 70s which crippled horsepower and torque output.   This 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has a 4.9-liter 302 engine. It is all original including paint and interior. It has had all scheduled maintenance. 2 owners with only 53,859 original miles. Always garaged. New BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. It has been a reliable turn key driver. Passes California smog with no issues. If you have been looking for an original Trans Am that drives smoothly with low miles, look no further.                                                 Vehicle           Photos                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Payment           Information                     Payment for cars can be made in several ways.
