1976 Porsche 912e Original Light Yellow (117), black interior. Late May '76 model. Only 74,000 original miles. Numbers matching, rust-free, no-accident, non-molested. Southern California car. These are becoming increasingly hard to find in original, solid condition. Only 2100 made, less than half that many left. It had been owned by a collector, recently brought out of storage and freshened up. Still had most, if not all of, the original factory parts installed. Mechanically and cosmetically rebuilt, the car was inspected and thoroughly gone through by the best Porsche techs who know these cars intricately. Everything tested from front to back, top to bottom, and refreshed with genuine Porsche/OEM parts where needed, retaining much of the original where possible. Out back you'll find a solid 10 bolt G.M. axle mounted in a 4 link configuration and a modified drive line connecting it all together. Manual dual circuit 4 wheel disc brakes with dual piston calipers up front and single pistons in the rear provide ample stopping power and the American Racing Torque Thrust rims wrapped in Toyo Proxes 4 275/40 ZR17 tires transfer your desires to go or stop to the ground. Additionally, for added performance and longevity, the braking circuits are plumbed with steel braided brake lines. The LT-1 engine has been dressed up with some tasteful additions including true dual exhaust with custom exhaust headers and functional side pipes. Cooling is efficiently handled by an electric pilot controlled fan fastened to an aluminum Griffin radiator. The large air inlet in the front allows the Series II to cool much better than its predecessor. Electrically, the Dragon utilizes the factory designed system for the LT-1 engine and power is supplied by a newer Die Hard series battery. At 2200 pounds or so, this High Performance vehicle is pure business. There are no frills, no amenities, and no creature comforts. Mechanical and vitals are monitored by 6 gauges including Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Battery and Charging System Voltage, Fuel Level, Tachometer, and a Speedometer. Turn signals, Headlights, Electric Fans, Windshield Wipers, Horn, and High/Low Beam Headlight operations are controlled by neatly installed toggle switches in easy reach of the pilot. You won't find a need for a stereo in this machine. The sound of the engine and finely tuned exhaust provide all the listening pleasure you will ever need. Operating this machine is no major issue. There is plenty of leg room in the cockpit for even the tallest of drivers. The Mercedes-Benz 500E, launched in 1991 and continued until 1994, was a high performance version of the W124 Mercedes, produced between 1986 and 1995. It was spectacularly built and well known for its ability to handle large amounts of power. The 500E was collaboration between Mercedes and Porsche. Rumored to be using secrets from its cancelled 989 sports sedan project, it stuffed many of the mechanicals from the 500SL roadster into the W124. Each 500 E was hand-built by Porsche, being transported back and forth between the Mercedes plant and Porsche's Rossle-Bau plant in Zuffenhausen, Germany during assembly, taking a full 18 days to complete each model.  The Mercedes 500E is a rare car indeed, especially in the United States.  Between 1991 and 1995 about 10,000 were built, but only 1,505 of those came to the United States. Sports car braking performance also came from SL components such as front SL 500 300 mm disks with 4-piston calipers came installed on the 1992 and early 1993 cars. The later 1993, and all 1994 cars came with the upgraded 320 mm set taken from the 600 SL. Rear brakes on all years were 278 mm brakes from the 500 SL. In the USA, the 500 E came fully equipped, with the only options available to the buyer being a dealer-installed CD changer and an integrated cellular telephone. The 500 E was only with four seats in left hand drive, with the four leather seats supplied by Recaro (the fronts heated).Called the Wolf in Sheep's Clothing by the press, performance tests of the day yielded impressive results: 0100 km/h (062 mph) times of 5.5 to 6.0 seconds and acceleration through the quarter-mile (0.4 km) in 14.1 seconds at 163 km/h (101 mph). The top speed was redline limited at 6,000 rpm to 260 km/h (160 mph).
