Porsche GT3 was launched as a new model in the late 90’s, it was an overwhelming success. All GT3s have become some of the most sought after modern collectibles Porsche has ever offered. The famous Metzger engines were the foundation of all the 996 and 997 GT3s. This motor has become one of the best engines ever built. It is considered incredibly reliable and able to handle gobs of power. The RS 4.0 was the last of these engines. The new 991s have gone away from this engine design and have already been plagued with engine rebuilds and recalls. The 2nd Generation GT3’s have seen a bump in value as buyers for the 911’s have migrated back to the 997.2 models. With their displacement growing from 3.6 to 3.8 liters, these race-ready streetcars now saw 435hp and 317lb ft. tq. The owner of this GT3 wanted the power of the new GT3 RS 4.0 without feeling guilt about enjoying a car with values now reaching the $300,000 range. So, he built is own 4.0 creating over 500hp. The owner of this Porsche purchased it new on July 29th, 2009 from Porsche of Beverly Hills, California. He is a mature enthusiast who enjoys driving Porsches with his son. He wanted the ultimate Porsche that was comfortable enough to drive around town as well as 1,000-mile drives to some of the top local tracks. He made sure that this GT3 was nicely equipped with all the right options. The MSRP totaled over $135,000. Factory ordered options include: Black full leather PCM 3.0 w/extended navigation Heated front seats Ceramic composite brakes-PCCB Sound package plus Dynamic cornering lights Bluetooth phone interface Sport Chrono Package Plus Floor mats in interior color Universal audio interface Door entry guards stainless steel illumination Storage lid Alcantara w/Porsche logo Porsche crest in headrest Footrest aluminum The car has never been raced and carefully used at only 6 driver’s education events. About 3,000 miles ago, he decided he wanted more powerful and better handling without sacrificing reliability or comfort. He decided to enlist the help of 911 Design, owned and operated by Loren Beggs. They were responsible for the engine upgrade. Also, Stuttgart Performance helped provide further performance details. Both of these shops are highly regarded by some of the top Porsche enthusiasts in California. Enhancements include: Fresh 4.0L engine (built on original numbers matching block) Sequential shifter with auto-throttle blip adapted to stock transmission (original parts included to easily convert back to stock) Guard transmission Limited slip differential 40/60 Side muffler delete (original side mufflers included) RSS Tarmac suspension system (stock coil overs/upgraded monoballs and bushings) RSS custom “B” hoop roll bar (bolt-in) Schroth 6-point harness system (both seats/stock seatbelts still installed) GT3RS 4.0 clutch and flywheel Clear taillights (original red tail lights included) Carbon fiber side mirrors (original mirrors included) Factory Carrera GT seats (original GT3 seats available for additional fee) 3M clear bra covering entire front end Carbon fiber vinyl wrap on hood and roof GT3 Cup splitter In total, this owner invested well over $50,000 with some of the top local builders making the ultimate driver’s GT3. The condition of the car is excellent. The paint looks like new as the clear bra has protected it. It looks more like it has been a regular visitor to the concours lawn. There are no dents or signs of misuse. There are a couple spots where the clear bra has some nicks and some scratches on the underside of the Cup front plastic splitter. That’s about it. The interior is equally nice and looks like new with no signs of wear. The Carrera GT3 carbon fiber/Alcantara seats are wonderfully supportive without sacrificing comfort for longer drives. The RSS roll bar is nicely fitted with no alteration to the body and can easily be unbolted and removed. All the gauges and controls function properly. The car is an absolute joy to drive. It is tight and responsive and feels just as the factory would build it. The sequential shifting system is a joy to use; making missed shifts a thing of the past. This is huge in preserving the life of the engine. California registration is paid through August of 2015 This GT3 comes with most of the original parts, extra key, original window sticker, all records, owner’s manuals, and factory tools. Available for purchase: original stock GT3 seats, extra set of Forgeline track wheels (9x18 and 12x18), and Cargraphic headers. BEAUTIFUL AND CORRECT RANGOON RED EXTERIOR OVER RED SPLIT BENCH SEATING! INCREDIBLY CLEAN AND SOLID BODY, FLOOR PANS, AND TRUNK PAN! REGULARLY DRIVEN AND METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED BY THE SAME OWNER FOR OVER 21 YEARS!!! RIGOROUS SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE WITH LOTS OF NEW PARTS AND A FRESH SAFETY INSPECTION! DRIVE IT TO A SHOW, WIN A TROPHY, AND DRIVE IT TO THE NEXT STATE FOR ANOTHER ONE! CALL ME AT 941-286-0889 WITH QUESTIONS. THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DETAILED!!! IT HAS BEEN WASHED, VACUUMED, AND WIPED DOWN WITH TURTLE WAX QUICK SHINE PRIOR TO BEING PHOTOGRAPHED. IMAGINE HOW AMAZING IT WILL LOOK WHEN YOU TAKE THE TIME TO DETAIL AT HOME! OVERVIEW I recently acquired this beautiful 1964 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible on trade from the previous owner of 21 years! The car was like a part of his family, and has been carefully maintained, regularly driven, and lovingly cared for since he bought it in 1994. Safety checked, serviced, and ready to drive anywhere you want to take it, this fantastic little convertible is the perfect car for hitting the Sunday shows, cruising to that regional event in the next State, or driving wherever you want! Please take a moment to read the detailed listing, look over the 100 extra-large detailed photos, and then call me to make it yours before someone else does it first! THIS VEHICLE HAS A CLEAN AND CLEAR FLORIDA TITLE IN OUR POSSESSION, AND IS NOT A CONSIGNMENT VEHICLE. FOR VEHICLE FINANCING, APPLY ONLINE AT: WWW.JJBEST.COM WWW.LIGHTSTREAM.COM DESCRIPTION This 2nd Generation Falcon Futura is the perfect combination of power, style, and class that makes the collector car hobby so much fun to be a part of! Owned by just one person for the past 21 years, this car has been garage stored and babied and shows it! The bright Rangoon Red factory Ford color is correct to what the car was born with, but had been redone in the early 90’s. It still looks glossy, slick, and wet, and shows no more blemishes and signs of use than your average two year old car at the local dealers lot does! The car has been carefully cleaned, waxed, and stored indoors under a top quality car cover which is included. This has kept the car looking fantastic, with just the normal small scuffs, stone chips, and typical “regular use” light blemishes you would see on any car of this caliber and investment range. I have taken a 4x4 felt covered magnet over the entire painted surface of the car and it sticks like glue, as there is NO sign of any bondo or patch panels, and no sign of chicken wire or beer cans either. Just good old FORD factory steel, with solid seams at the rockers, correct rolls in the fenders, and no rot to be found. It is a super clean and straight body, with exceptionally nice gaps and panel fit. Trim and bright work on the car is original, and is in good condition all the way around. A weekend with some Mother’s polish and you can make it look even better than it does. Emblems and badging are in very good original condition. Chrome bumpers front and rear are original, look incredible, and are the kind of clean, straight pieces you just can’t get in a reproduction. Hubcaps are original, and show age and signs of use. They are mounted on original steel rims with black paint that has chipped in spots. All the wheels show good for driving and enjoying the car, but if you want to make it more of a full SHOW car, you’ll want to clean them up and paint the rims again. Tires are recent BFGOODRICH Radial T/A’s, and are sized P205/70R14. They have at least 70% of the useable tread remaining, and do not need replaced at this time. Glass on the car is in very good condition, with just light marks, if anything, to be found. There is no sign of laminate issues, and there are no cracks or splits in the glass. Rubber seals and weather stripping looks great, and the only sign of brittle rubber on the car is the vent window trim, which is original and has not been replaced in 51 years! It is still serviceable, but not up to scale with the rest of the clean, more recent rubber. The convertible top was replaced not too long ago, and it still shows wonderfully today! Keep in mind, this car has NOT been detailed, so some of the little water spots and things on the top should simply clean up when you prepare the car for its first show. There are no known rips, tears, or seam pulls, and the plastic rear window is fog free, and undamaged. The power top works just like it should, and goes up or down in a matter of seconds with the touch of the dash mounted switch. Latches seal it up tight, and I have had the pleasure of driving the car in a typical Florida torrential downpour, and it was leak and issue free for me. The tonneau was new with the top, and it fastens and sits just as it should, with all snaps intact and functional. It is clean, neat, and ready to show. Overall, the outside of this car is in 8.5 out of 10 condition, and when you take the time to detail it from stem to stern, it will show even nicer. Pop open the hood, and you are met with the cars original 260 V8 CHALLENGER motor that it was born with. The engine has been rigorously maintained over the years, with constant oil changes, preventative maintenance, and many OEM replacement parts installed to make sure it was reliable and ready to go. Recent upgrades on the car include the fuel pump, fuel lines, rotor, distributor, plugs, plug wires, carb cleaning, new fuel sending unit, water pump, battery, and a fully re-cored and pressure tested radiator. It starts easily, idles cleanly, and is ready to go at a moment’s notice. Snick the cars original 3-speed transmission into gear, ease out the clutch, and the 260 gives you power on demand at any throttle position! You can easily spin the tires if you want to, or let the power build through each shift until you are exceeding the speed limit! Power is smooth and steady, and ready to help you pass, merge onto the interstate, or just pick on that kid in the Honda Civic at the red light. There is no stuttering, no backfires, no fuel loading or starvation issues, and it is about as perfectly tuned as you could ask for. Engine note is healthy and mellow, thanks to the custom installed Cherry Bomb style mufflers put on with the fresh exhaust system. The prior owner kept fuel logs, and noted that on the highway the car averages about 18mpg, while in town, it sits at about 15mpg. Pop the trunk, and you get an original and ultra-clean floor pan with no signs of rot, rust, or prior repair. It has some marks from being used as, well – A TRUNK, but still looks great! The full-size spare is correct to the car, but not a modern radial. There is a jack and lug wrench included, as well as the original trunk pan liner in the same plaid finish as the spare tire cover. The liner has seen better days and is included for originalities sake, but you will probably want to just order a new one. Trunk seal is recent, like 90% of the other rubber bits, and shows wonderfully. Underneath the car, the chassis is clean and original, and shows very well. Pans are original and have no sign of rust, rot, or damage. The entire brake system was replaced just a few years ago, and it was then switched over to a full silicone fluid system for safety. USE ONLY SILICONE FLUID IN THE CAR! Braking is spot on, and the car scrubs off speed without any odd pulling, wander, excess fade, or unusual modulation. Ride quality is great, with just enough give to make all-day cruising seem like a Sunday in your favorite chair, and a steadiness from the newer shocks and modern radials that lets you have fun carving through those rural twist’s too. All of the suspension components, seals, bushings, bearings, kingpins, and rods have been checked and appear to be as recent as the prior owners notes said they were. Tracking is straight and true, and the car has the perfect amount of steering wheel feedback, and no slop or sawing when you drive it. One hand on the wheel is all it takes when flying down the interstate, and the car will easily manage highway speeds without complaint. Overall, the mechanicals of this car are in exceptional condition, and after spending about 150 miles behind the wheel, I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Speaking of driving it, most of your time is going to be spent in the interior, and it is VERY nice! Door panels are original, clean, and show normal signs of use and wear. Door pulls and window rollers are original, and show light patina and age but work perfectly. Dice toppers were added to the tops of the door locks to compliment the red and white color scheme. They look great, and work perfectly, and the doors lock with the included key. Kick panels and rear panels are original, and show typical signs of normal use. Rear ashtrays, emblems, badging, switches, and climate controls are all original, appear in average or above condition, and do what they should without issue. Rear view mirror and convertible top chrome trim panels are original, show patina and signs of age, but work perfectly. Carpet is in above average condition, looks amazing, and is damage free. Seats are in very good condition as well, with no rips or tears, and the split front bench folds like it should to allow passengers easy access to the rear seat. Original steering column is topped by the original wheel which shows light patina and age, but could easily be refinished if you wanted. The chrome horn button has light patina and is non-functional, and the shift arm and signal arms show light patina but work perfectly. Dash is original, and has no cracks or damage. Front dash panel silver section looks great, and the gauge housing holds fully functional gauges for FUEL, TEMP, SPEEDO, and ODMOMETER. Odometer shows 89,381 miles, and the prior owner said he believed it to be correct, but the State of Florida, as they usually do, automatically exempted the mileage on the title when they moved here and registered the cars. Headlights work, hi beam switch works, turn signals work, hazards work, and the wipers work. The climate system works as it should. The radio is inoperative, and is not hooked up. I do not know if it works or not, and the prior owner never had it work either. The 12V cigar lighter works, and the car has a functional ashtray and fully lined glove box too. The interior presents wonderfully, and the patina on the original items I mentioned really isn’t bad, especially if you are going to drive and enjoy the car. According to the HAGERTY VALUE TREND VEHICLE INDEX, the car is valued as follows, and has had a slow and steady value growth over the the past 5 year period. Condition #1 = $41,300.00 These vehicles are the best in the world. The visual image is of the best car, in the right colors, driving onto the lawn at the finest concours. Perfectly clean, the car has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 cars is "concours." Condition #2 = $28,700.00 These cars could win a local or regional show. They can be former #1 cars that have been driven or have aged. Seasoned observers will have to look closely for flaws, but will be able to find some not seen by the general public. The paint, chrome, glass and interior will all appear as excellent. No excessive smoke will be seen on startup, no unusual noises will emanate from the engine compartment. The vehicle will drive as a new car of its era would. The one word description for #2 cars is "excellent." Condition #3 = $20,300.00 Cars in this classification could possess some, but not all of the issues of a #4 car, but they will be balanced by other factors such as a fresh paint job or a new, correct interior. #3 cars drive and run well, but might have some incorrect parts. These cars are not used for daily transportation but are ready for a long tour without excuses, and the casual passerby will not find any visual flaws. "Good" is the one word description of a #3 car. Condition #4 = $13,500.00 These cars are daily drivers, with major flaws visible to the naked eye. The chrome might have pitting or scratches, the windshield might be chipped. Paintwork is imperfect, and perhaps the fender has a minor dent. The interior could have split seams or a cracked dash. No major parts are missing, but the wheels could differ from the originals, or the interior might not be stock. A #4 car can also be a deteriorated restoration. "Fair" is the one word that describes a #4 car. I have priced the car accordingly, and feel strongly that these affordable American Classic’s will continue the steady rise in value and investment return in the next 5 year cycle. In the area? Come see it. If not, fly down here for a personal showing! I am willing to bet that the first person who comes here to see it in person will buy it. The title is in the dealerships name, and this is NOT a consignment car. IT IS TITLED AS A 1973 FORD MILEAGE is showing 11,854 on the functional odometer, but it is being sold as mileage exempt at this time. It has an estimated 800-1000 miles since the restoration was completed in June of 2015. I think that about does it so far as information I can supply to you. As stated, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE a private viewing of the vehicle, or you can have an appraiser/inspector come see on your behalf PRIOR TO BIDDING. ********************************************** If you have any other questions, or want me to photograph something, or check something, please call me at (941)286-0889 for the fastest response. This is what started it all. These were race-bred hot rods that were homologated for the European and DTM touring championship and any one with a spare $40,000 ($82,000 in today’s money) could buy one for the street. With a mere 4,000 examples brought into the U.S. over a 4-year period, it is harder and harder to find good ones. As many experts predicted, these are quickly becoming one of the most collectible late model BMWs. The car was sold new out of a BMW dealership in Massachusetts on August 8th, 1988. Within a few years, the car relocated to California where it has lived ever since. Although we don’t know a lot about the previous history, based on condition, it is clear that this BMW was never abused, raced, or neglected. The current owner purchased the car from a local seller who was going through a divorce and had to sell the car. We are not sure how long this owner had the car but he was in the process of restoring it. In fact, this M3 only saw 20k miles over the last 12-years. Robert at E30 Motorwerks in Huntington Beach, CA did most of the restoration/build. A list of recent work done includes: Rebuilt fuel system New injectors Gaskets replaced Miscellaneous leaks addressed Turner Motorsports M3 intake manifold gasket set Koni yellow adjustable shocks H&R springs Stromung exhaust (passes CA smog) UUC EVO 3 short shifter (all bushings replaced) Ground Control camber plates Replaced differential mounts, subframe bushings, and rear trailing arm bushings Reinforced sway bar mounts New front wheel bearings New rear brakes / pads rotors New motor mounts: AKG poly Pair of Recaro Speed front seats with Wedge Engineering seat brackets Mass air flow (MAF) upgrade from VAC Motorsports New fog lights New sunroof seal New windshield sprayers (not hooked up) New Yokohama Advan Neova tires Repainted car to Jet Black Upgraded headlights to HID Reproduction EVO rear wing with carbon fiber flap (original rear wing is available) New battery Replaced drivers door locks All fluids have been replaced Major tune up/service including plugs, wires, and distributor cap Replaced catalytic converters Replaced fuel pump All in all, the current owner recently invested nearly $10k and this doesn’t include the thousands spent by the previous owner (paint job, cats, etc.). We have copies of current receipts and they are included with the car. When the current owner purchased the car, he had a full inspection performed including a compression test. He doesn’t remember the specific numbers except that the engine was quite strong with even and correct compression/leakdown. It appears that the engine could have been rebuilt fairly recently but we have no receipts documenting it. The car looks great and presents well. It may not win a BMWCCA concours event, but it would certainly be respectable displayed on the lawn of your local show. The panels are straight and the gaps are spot on. The paint looks nice with some minor flaws that are only visible upon very close inspection. The window frames were painted jet black to match the body and have since been wrapped in vinyl to match the original factory look. The stance looks perfect with the 16” OEM BBS E38 wheels. The interior looks equally as nice. It is very clean. The dash is perfect with no cracks or warping. The Recaro front seats are new and are probably the best alternative to stock. They are reminiscent of the Euro Evolution sport seats. Also, they are incredibly comfortable with great lateral support. The owner has the original seats (see pics), which are in decent condition. They have been reupholstered some time ago and are showing a bit of age. The rear seat is original and in decent condition with minimal wear signs. The carpet, headliner, and door panels are original and in excellent condition. The stock radio has been replaced with an upgraded radio that plays MP3s. The speakers are still stock and no holes have been made. Most everything works properly except the A/C. It appears to be complete and does blow but not cold. The “oil service” light shines very dimly as a result of the instrument cluster battery problem. This issue is very common with this era BMWs. The car drives exactly how you imagine a well-maintained E30 M3 should. It is tight with great throttle response. It shifts easily with no grinding. The handling and braking are spot on. It is clear this is a very nice M3 that would be wonderful to still enjoy for any club or vintage touring events. Contact me with any questions, Paul: Four 1 Four - 2 Five 4 - One One 8 One. The year 1971 brought significant change to the American muscle car, with a number of model redesigns appearing. One was the release of the 2-door G-series Chrysler B-bodies, including the Charger/Super Bee and GTX/Road Runner muscle cars. At the time, few foresaw how close to the end of this era the Big Three manufacturers were. In fact, the 1971 model run was also the end of the high-performance equipment as originally optioned on this beautiful 440 Six Barrel Road Runner. This body was called the ‘fuselage’ style and featured much smoother, more dramatic edges than previous renderings of the classic Plymouth. This was the direct result of ongoing aerodynamic testing that Chrysler had been involved in, and it proved apt on the NASCAR circuit, where this design took Richard Petty to 21 event crowns and the first-ever Winston Cup title that season. On this car, painted C7 “In-Violet”, with the tuxedo White and Black interior, the roof is augmented by a black rear-angled strobe graphic that laced over from the top and ended in Road Runner logos on each side. The factory rear spoiler only adds to its appeal as raw yet respectable power. While the color itself lends to this car’s attraction, other visual points of interest are hood tie-down pins, body color sport mirrors, raised white-letter Goodyear Polyglas tires and 15 x 7 Rallye wheels (as ordered). To further state the cars “As Ordered” agenda to go fast in a straight line approximately a ¼ mile at a time, it was ordered without power steering or a radio! While the styling change did end production of convertibles, high-compression engines were still available—among them the Hemi, the 340 and the one-of-just-137-built 440 Six Barrel models like this car. Shortened to 6BBL in Plymouth nomenclature, the big engine was rated at 385 HP in 1971, featuring three Holley 2-barrel carburetors atop a semi high-rise intake manifold. Flow-rated at more than 1,000 CFM, this trio would open based on engine vacuum and simply blur the entire vision of anybody inside the car as it accelerated, coupled to the roar of air being pulled in and screaming rear tires. Callouts on the stylized hood let everyone know that this car means nothing but business. This car came with the A833 4-speed “Hemi” transmission, ably shifted with a short-handled Hurst Pistol Grip. The car was ordered with the optional bucket seats, podded instrument cluster and radio delete! A Dana 60 differential (with 4.10 gears and the sure-grip option) is under the rear end, visible behind the factory rear valance blackout graphics. We mentioned this was the end. Though Road Runner continued on for 1972, the code-E87 Six Pack engine was to be discontinued at year’s end with its boots on, with solid 10.5:1 compression and visible notoriety. Coupled with low production numbers, the desirable 4-speed/Dana driveline, this car showcases the very end of Detroit’s legendary supercar era. If you read the articles on this car, you will know why it doesn’t retain its original drive-train. There is a properly date coded 440 as well as an original Hemi 18-spline transmission and an original ’71 B-body Dana. The car was restored from 1994 to 1996 and brought to the Mopar Nationals, and has only been driven approximately 3000 miles since. Currently has 15 x 7 steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps. It looks as good as it does in the pictures. I know “Fresh” restorations are preferred, but wouldn’t you rather have a car that has withstood the test of time and shows its true colors? I have seen many undocumented restorations come apart at the seams as years go on due to replacement metal/shoddy body and paint. The bodywork and paint was applied by Rick “RestoRick” Kreuziger, one of the best if not the best in the Mopar world. http://www.restorick.com/ The paint, chrome, trim, interior, etc. are in amazing condition. While it isn’t a fresh restoration, it is still a top the scoreboard at a #2 or better. Pictures document the process from pulling the car out of the pole barn with 100% original paint to the final day of the restoration! There was no broadcast sheet as the seats were parted from the car, but the fender tag is present and all the body numbers are still in place as well as the original door sticker. With less than 1% of total production, how many are still in existence today? How many still retain all of their original sheet metal? How many have documented ownership back to the original purchase? There are only four (4) documented owners prior to myself. How many have a video documenting the day it was brought home? This car is being sold "As Is" with no warranties either expressed or implied. A $1,000.00 deposit is to be made via Paypal immediately after auction is won. The balance must be made by wire transfer within seven (7) days of auction close. I am willing to sell to international buyers as long as you meet these terms and take care of all transportation arrangements and fees. I can hold the car up to 30 days to accommodate the shippers schedule at no additional charge. I have a perfect Ebay rating and want to keep it that way, so if you have ANY questions, ask them prior to the purchase! Please contact me PRIOR TO A BEST OFFER SO THAT WE ARE BOTH ON THE SAME PAGE IN REGARDS TO PAYMENT AND TRANSPORTATION. Serious bidders only with cash on hand!!!!Thanks for looking! The car is for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Seasoned observers will have to look closely for flaws, but will be able to find some not seen by the general public. The paint, chrome, glass and finishes will all appear as excellent. No excessive smoke will be seen on startup, no unusual noises will emanate from the engine. The vehicle will drive as a new vehicle of its era would. The one word description for #2 vehicles is "excellent." • #3 Good $67,400 #3 vehicles could possess some, but not all of the issues of a #4 vehicle, but they will be balanced by other factors such as a fresh paint job or a new, correct interior where applicable. #3 vehicles drive and run well, but might have some incorrect parts. These vehicles are not used for daily transportation but are ready for a long tour without excuses, and the casual passerby will not find any visual flaws. "Good" is the one word description of a #3 vehicle. • #4 Fair $50,300 #4 vehicles are daily drivers, with flaws visible to the naked eye. The chrome might have pitting or scratches, the windshield might be chipped. Paintwork is imperfect, and perhaps the body has a minor dent. Split seams or a cracked dash, where applicable, might be present. No major parts are missing, but the wheels could differ from the originals, or other non- stock additions might be present. A #4 vehicle can also be a deteriorated restoration. "Fair" is the one word that describes a #4 vehicle. Value Adjustments+10% for 4-spd. And what a design it was, especially within the walls of a company that had in its 30-year history built nothing but cars with a small engine placed behind the driver. But if America was the target market, a front-engined, rear-wheel-drive V8 Grand Touring car certainly made sense. The 928 debuted in March 1977 at the Geneva Auto Show, and while Porsche purists bristled at the thought of such a pedestrian layout, the new car received much acclaim. The $28,000 928 borrowed no parts from other Porsches, and its shape was like nothing else--a futuristic design with a low, wide stance, a long, sloping hood, a sharp nose, and an evenly rounded rump. "Telephone dial" wheels completed the package. At the time, design head Tony Lapine stated that "a car which is liked immediately will not hold up over time." Porsche had designed a long shelf life into its latest creation, and at the same time had handsomely incorporated 5-mph safety bumpers front and rear. The body made use of collapsible polyurethane pieces over front and rear hidden bumpers, with aluminum doors, hood, and front fenders, and steel for the remaining panels. Though now commonplace, at the time, trying to coat such differing materials with a uniform paint job was a feat of ingenuity. Beneath the handsome and complicated skin lay an advanced and well-balanced powertrain. A 90-degree, all-aluminum, 16-valve, 4.5-liter V8 with Bosch Continuous Injection System (CIS) fuel delivery produced 219 hp and 254 ft-lb of torque. It was mated to a fully synchronized rear transaxle with either a 5-speed manual or optional 3-speed automatic, and weight distribution was nearly perfect at 51%/49%, front to rear. Suspension was fully independent all around, and Porsche worked hard to perfect the 928's rear suspension, which would allow it to accommodate over-aggressive drivers without the erratic tendencies of snap oversteer. The resulting "Weissach Axle" was an engineering breakthrough, a multi-link setup that made the 928 one of the best handlers in the world. The cabin was nothing short of plush, with supportive leather seats, an ingenious tilt steering/instrument binnacle, and all the comforts of a true luxury GT. And it could move, too, with 0 to 60 mph coming in just over 7 seconds, with a top speed over 135 mph. By the time the 4.7-liter 928 S arrived in 1983, the car was rated at 146 mph, making it the fastest in America. Displacement, power, and top speed increased as production continued, with a 5.0-liter appearing in 1985, as well as revised brake and suspension components and a 4-speed automatic to replace the 3-speed. A 928 S4 debuted in 1987, now with 316 hp, and a 928 GT entered the fold in 1989, complete with a limited-slip differential and available only with a 5-speed. The 928 GTS replaced both the S4 and GT for 1993. It featured freshened bodywork and a bigger 5.4-liter engine now putting out 345 hp and capable of 170 mph. It also cost nearly $85,000. By this time, the 928 had practically disappeared from the American market. Sales had fallen dramatically, and Porsche redoubled its efforts on the 911, which had weathered the regulatory storm mostly unscathed. In all nearly 61,000 928s were built during the car's 17-year tenure. Even by today's standards, it is a competent, comfortable GT, and a well-sorted one will offer plenty of high-speed thrills over continental distances."> By the early 1970s, it was clear that increasingly tough and complicated emissions and safety regulations were going to change the American automotive market’s landscape. And since America was Porsche's biggest market, higher-ups reasoned it was only a matter of time before such restrictions hampered the sales appeal of their 911. By developing an entirely new Porsche, one with all the latest federal regulations already incorporated, Porsche hoped to meet the new standards head on. In the meantime, if the Stuttgart company had to kill the 911 because of such standards, it would be prepared to transition. Engineers were given free rein to "invent" the newest Porsche, and plans for the 928 began in October 1971, with a basic design finalized in 1972. And what a design it was, especially within the walls of a company that had in its 30-year history built nothing but cars with a small engine placed behind the driver. History of the 1976-1989 Porsche 911 Carrera (Turbo 930) By the mid-1970s, the era of malaise in automotive performance  was setting in. 0-60 and quarter mile times were a shadow of what they had been just five years before. Only Porsche seemed to buck this trend using an exhaust driven turbocharger to achieve stunning results. The 3.2 liter 911 Turbo Carrera or 930, could do 0-60 in about 4.9 seconds at a time when a new Ferrari or Corvette were hard pressed to do the same thing in less than 8.0 seconds. Handling could be very tricky because the turbo was very much and “on” or “off” thing.  Boost coming on suddenly in the middle of a corner was the undoing of many 930 drivers. Flared fenders and a whale tail rear spoiler told other drivers to move out of the left lane. 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo 930 Info Body Styles 2dr Cabriolet 2dr Coupe 2dr Targa Engine Types 6-cyl. 3299cc/282hp FI Additional Info Curb Weight: 2826 lbs. Given their fantastic style and glorious lack of refinement, the earliest C1s are certainly candidates. Folks searching for brute force and unmatched swagger continue to place money on big block C2s. If we're talking strictly functionality and performance numbers, the world-class Z06 takes the cake. But, if you live in the collector car world, there's one moniker that stands above them all: ZR1. Twice as livable as a C1, much harder to duplicate than big block C2s and featuring comparable performance to the generally less refined Z06, the King of the Road is widely considered the ultimate version of America's favorite sports car. And, if you're looking for an ultimate edition of that ultimate version of America's favorite sports car, you've come to the right place! This Bloomington-certified, 1,064-mile coupe is 1 of 2 1992 ZR-1s equipped with Black on Arctic White aesthetics. And presently, the other car is crunched in a salvage yard with very little chance of ever hitting the road again. So, what are you waiting for? Here's your shot at a vintage Corvette that, thanks to highly unique construction, mixes record-breaking performance with unmatched exclusivity! BODYWORK/TRIM Take one look down the sides of this razor-sharp coupe and you'll see a well-maintained garage queen that's assembly line fresh in virtually every way. Glossy Black 2-stage shows just how far GM paint technology had come from the days of multi-colored Stingrays. The car's lightweight body panels display precise fit and exact finish under ancillary hardware that functions well and seals great. It's very unlikely that body has ever felt anything more aggressive than a soft detailing cloth. And when that level of ownership is combined with Bowling Green's top-notch build quality, it creates one seriously capable sports car that shows well and absolutely blisters the road! ENGINE The aluminum LT5 V8 found under the hood of this virtually new Corvette is a modern work of automotive art. Originally intended to be a simple set of 16-valve cylinder heads atop a basic Chevrolet small block, the Lotus engineers assigned to the project quickly realized there was no cost-effective way to build such a motley beast. Instead, they designed a world class V8, which shared basic dimensions with Chevrolet's storied small block, but exactly zero interchangeable components. The result is a 32-valve, 4-cam powerhouse that utilizes a trick dual-path induction system to create 375 horsepower and 370 lb./ft. of all-American torque. The much lauded aluminum specialists at Mercury Marine of Stillwater, Oklahoma assembled the aesthetically pleasing mill. And when fitted under the Corvette's clamshell hood, it became an ultra-performance world record holder. There's no mistaking the big engine's unique intake and sculpted cam covers, which are emblazoned with the Corvette logo, for something any less than fantastic. And, more beautifully finished than any engine since the 1930s, the LT5 in this ZR-1 is preserved in 100% showroom-fresh condition. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Behind that hot small block, a proven ZF 6-speed distributes power to a factory Corvette rear end. That combination works great in conjunction with the motor's ability to shut down half its intake runners, making this Vette plenty quick off the line and a joy to cruise on the highway. All ZR-1s have a Lotus-tuned FX3 double A-arm front and independent rear suspension, which features electronic traction control and driver-adjustable active ride control. 4-wheel, Lotus-tuned power disc brakes combine with Lotus-tuned power steering to keep all that power productive and pointed straight. Factory dual exhaust runs from original equipment manifolds into two rear-mounted mufflers that hang just before GM's familiar quad-outlet tips. And torque meets the pavement through a set of killer 17-inch alloys that spin super wide 275/40ZR17 Goodyear Eagle GS-Cs in front of even wider 315/35ZR17 Goodyear Eagle GS-Cs. INTERIOR Like its body, this C4's clean cockpit is well maintained in virtually every way. The plush driving environment kicks off with a pair of 6-way, power adjustable buckets that are stitched in Arctic White leather. In front of those buckets, a leather-wrapped and Corvette-branded steering wheel laps a conservative dash that's fitted with both clear analog and bright digital gauges. Inside that dash, the car's modern center stack anchors electronic climate control above a premium Delco Bose sound system, a simple black shifter and buttons for the adjustable suspension. Opposite that center stack, 2-tone side panels hang switches for both power windows and power door locks above sculpted armrests. And, at the back of those panels, a surprisingly spacious cargo hold features enough room for short, weekend road trips. (3) 1958 Buick's The Kings and Queens Of Chrome Galore People who owned and drove these carsI imagine enjoyed that "Cool... I've Arrived state of being" Perhaps some were successful owners of Ranches Estates or Prosperous Farms. I can not promise by owning any of these cars you will become more successful or become a big rancher or become a fortune 500 CEO... but I am pretty sure if you drove a restored one of these cars..you'd feel pretty good about life....So heres an oppurtunity that wont break your bank account..I hope for the best circumstances 4 U in whatever you choose. For Sale (1) 1958 Caballero Buick Estate Wagon364 Cu Inch 300 Hp Engine Transmission.Good Condition for sitting for 40+ years. (1) 1958 Buick Estate Wagon"The Pink"Good Solid Body .Original License Plate 1966 on car (1) 1958 Buick Century 2 DoorBig Fin "THE QUEEN OF CHROME" 1968 License Plate on car All cars were discovered in a Car Guy's Field of Dreams Anyways.. When I saw it for the first time I thought Is this what they call a Hoarder?250 Cars !?! Packed LIKE SARDINES Fenced off & hidden from the world. For 50 plus years he collected... til he had NO MORE ROOM..He even rented more space in a warehouse...His own car garage had a buried vehicle under stuff. He spent his inheritence on cars, borrowed money to buy cars.Mortgaged his home to pay off high interest credit cards.. Whatever the truth maybe..Hoarder or Car Historian or Care Taker. As Shakespere said "To Hoard or NOT to Hoard,THAT is the question..As Long as you don't get Bored". Anyways I hired a Towing Company and they brought their Skid Steer and Roll off Bed Tow Truck..and 2 - 3 guys helped move many cars out of the way to get to these . In the Mud and rain they worked.. 2 sections of steel fencing had to be cut off with a metal saw to bring the vehicles out...otherwise maybe 30 more cars would have to be moved. A few trees had to be cut, and branches and brush cleared. (Perhaps 40- 45 cars were dragged around or loaded onto the roll off truck ..and then moved.. placed out side ..just to get these 12 out.. and then put back) The old guy who owned these cars had a love affair with Buick's and Cadillacs especially. BUT...He had an Immediate financial need and I came along...looking for..of all things " LAWN ART" Like some oldrusting Model T body to place a tree or plant inside.and I wasn't even looking for myself. Yes: He showed me around and .. Yes: He sold 12 Cars...to me On a few cars he loved or had deep seated emotional attachments too...he actually let out a groan as he agreed to sell.. As he grasped the money in his hands he often walked away shaking his head..in despair..but the money I am sure help sooth him to a degree. I brought cash when I dealt with the Old ManI thought cash would speak louder than a check book.I was right. Once he grabbed at the stack of CASH in my hand and pushed his nose into it and smelled the money..all crisp New $100 Bills. It was like he was gasping for air . CASH WAS LIKE OXYGEN I went around over 3 weeks and chose the cool cars..in my opinion He had set high prices on most of the cars I chose and even more on the super rare one..but when he saw the cash...Its my opinion.. but I think his brain short circuited ...he grabbed at the cash as I counted it out and laid on the cars I wanted. He knew I wasn't just there to look..I was there to buy and help him...get unstuck..The cash was like a pry bar..and I saw his life moving..men came in to work clear up his place..he ordered many roll away dumpsters to dump an old house that had fallen.... truck loads of gravel was bought in and he moved cars out of the rented warehouse onto his land. Over the course of a some weeks..He agreed to sell me his rarest of cars.. I might tell you about that One in particular that's on its way to Europe when you call me. The (1) rare car "THE BIG FINNED CAR" of 2 sold .. paid for the whole lot.I got Lucky. So now you know..you can buy these for almost what I paid..It wasn't cheap...but with paying the towing company for 2 1/2 days to get them out and tow them to my shop. Then move them around on a couple occasions is $$$$. I also hired a small crew to clean the cars.Emptying 40 years of Dust outPower washed, cleaned out. The hundreds of pounds of mud were bagged up and taken back to the field where they came from. Many, many tires were bought and paid to be mounted so the cars could "Roll Again". Stuck wheels with rusted brake pads had to be unbroken.. and the cars had to roll again.. The Shop is Full Now and Id like all the cars gone within the next 30 days..and Lord Willing, they will be.. I like to believe I helped the old guy out a bit too.So he could move on with his life.I don't know for sure..maybe. Anyway.. The Buick's will be sold "AS IS"that's how I got them..With a Bill of Sale. If you have any questions call 218 207-8024. Before you bid, please you must have 98% EBAY rating or better because that tells me alot, like you do what you say..well generally..Its like a Credit score..and 10 or more transactions.. Or the bid may be canceled...unless you call and tak story with me.. Documentation As early Porsche 911s continue to grow in value, we are beginning to see movement from classic BMWs. The 2002s have started to see a shift, as have the E9 coupes. Many collectors and enthusiasts are beginning to see these big coupes as a great alternative to some of the other vintage sports cars. They are extremely comfortable and have quite a few standard “luxury” items like power windows, a/c, leather, and power steering that are missing from their Stuttgart siblings. Plus, they are not only easy to drive for long touring events, but they still have that legendary BMW handling which makes them a blast in the twisties. These really are the best of both worlds and a good addition to anyone’s early German automotive collection. Right now, the values are very attractive. However, with CSL prices exceeding the quarter-million dollar mark, the supply may not be able to keep up with the demand. The most difficult challenge with finding one of these Karmann built coupes is locating a good, dry, straight, and solid chassis. Or, as is the case with this example, someone willing to tear a car down to a bare chassis and start from scratch. The restoration journey for this E9 began nearly 20-years ago. The owner is a West Coast vintage auto enthusiast who wanted to build a special BMW. His goal was to create something that very well could have been built by the factory as a modern day interpretation of the legendary 3.0 coupe. The car he started with was a 1974 U.S. 3.0 CS coupe that had a dealer-installed sunroof. The car was located in Washington. He purchased the car at the end of 1995. It was then delivered to Sean Johnson of The Austin Healer in Okanogan, Washington. Sean is very well respected for his concours winning body and paintwork on classic cars. The first step was to strip the car down to a bare chassis and garnet-walnut blast the body to see where there was rust. A correct restoration of these cars involves bringing the car down to metal inside and out to eliminate rust, removing numerous body panels to expose areas that cannot otherwise be seen, and installing new panels where appropriate. In this case, any areas with rust were replaced. In all, 10 new panels were meticulously installed to assure that the car was bone dry and rust free. Furthermore, all coupes with sunroofs installed blindly drained water into the rocker panels and, therefore, have "factory installed" rust. The sunroof drains on this car were extended and externalized. The rear differential mounting area was reinforced to accommodate a more powerful drivetrain. Also, the rear shock towers were reinforced. Interior body panel seams were reinforced and seam welded. Front fenders were rolled to improve clearance for the wider factory Alpina wheels. The engine compartment mats were replaced. The body was modified to allow retrofitting with early-style bumpers. Finally, the entire unibody structure was acid etched, rust proofed, and primed. New undercoating was applied to all of the undercarriage and fender well areas. Once the bodywork was finished, the car was prepped for paint. PPG Deltron urethane two part finish paint was used. After two years of extensive work, Sean finished the body and it was delivered to the owner in a rolling chassis form. The project was suspended for a period of seven years while the owners were living abroad. During this time the car was carefully packed away in dry storage. The project was resumed when the owners returned to the United States. Once back in the U.S., the project was reassembled in Southern California. With some finishing touches by Paul Cain (well respected early BMW enthusiast/Head Concours Judge of the Legends of the Autobahn Concours), the final details and assembly were completed. The engine long block is a late model B35 /3.5 Liter motor from early nineties BMW 5 series, representing the last iteration of BMW’s highly efficient and legendary M30 family of in-line 6 cylinder motors. Talented engine maestro, Andy Koutsoudis of Bullet Performance in Costa Mesa, CA built the motor. Andy builds some fantastic race BMW engines for Bullet and certainly knows how to get reliable power. This engine offers the best of BMW's most modern internals with the vintage look of the original 1970's D-Jetronic injection combined with Bosch's (1990's) Motronic 1.3 engine management system allowing modern 'chipping'. After some mild Dinan tuning, this 3.5 put out a very respectable 211hp at the rear wheels. The rear end has 3:64 limited slip differential. The ratio was chosen to better accommodate the Getrag 5-speed gearbox conversion and enhanced power train. The car moves along at 75-80 mph at relatively low rpms in 5th gear. In terms of the suspension, all suspension arms are rebuilt but stock. Front and rear spring sets are custom. They are stiffer than stock springs and are not as high as the factory springs. The result is that the coupe sits about 1 inch lower than the original (hence the reason for the rolled front fenders). The car has new performance Bilsteins all around. The brakes are rebuilt original/stock system with steel lines. The engine bay was then detailed and sorted by Sean Casey of Casey Motorsports in Petaluma, CA. Sean took care of fixing all of the engine bay details including reworking the air-conditioning system so that it would blow ice cold. Many of the parts for this restoration came from classic BMW guru Carl Nelson of La Jolla Independent. Carl worked with the owner to help him make sure he was buying the best quality parts for this build. By 2010, the car was finished. The owner was truly committed to this project. Although there were countless delays and setbacks, he never gave up on his dream on a great modern-day E9. He was fortunate to get help from some of the best people in the business. His patience and determination certainly have paid off. The end result is truly exquisite. The car looks and drives like it just rolled out of the Bavarian factory floor. Everything is tight and feels new. The paint job is excellent and since there are less than 1,000 miles on the car since it’s been completed, it looks like new. The factory Alpinas and European ride-height give the car just the right stance. The interior is spectacular. Supple ivory leather with sable leather accents was used throughout. All the surfaces are covered in leather. The burled wood dash compliments the two-toned interior nicely. Custom sheepskin front seat tops were made to protect the front seats while driving. The carpets are tan Wilton wool. Also, custom plaid floor and trunk mats were installed. The Nardi steering wheel was refinished to match the other wood trim in the car. The end result is a wonderful cabin that is unique and fitting to the car. The underside of the car is equally nice if not better. Everything has been either powder coated or ceramic coated. It looks like the car just rolled off of the Pebble Beach Concours lawn. California registration is good through December 2014. This Coupe comes with an owner’s manual, extra keys, car cover, front seat sheep covers, stacks of receipts, build photos, and a complete tool kit. on Black Leatherette with cloth Herringbone Inserts 4-Speed Manual No Accidents/Original Paint Non-smoker 1-South West Owner from New PCA President Owned Clean and Clear California Title California Blue License Plate The original owner of this 924 purchased it new on November 25th, 1977 from Cambelback Porsche Audi in Phoenix, AZ. Less than two years later, he moved his family to Southern California and of course the Porsche came with him. For the next 26-years, he absolutely pampered this car. Nothing was too good for it. He became very active in his local PCA Zone and held several board positions including president. In fact, he was PCA president for 4 terms. He was a strong competitor in the PCA Concours scene and won over 30 awards. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2006. His wife continued to show the car at the concours events and maintain it. She is finding that she uses it less and less these days and that the 924 would be better enjoyed with a new owner. The owner of this 924 was a total car enthusiast and loved to do tasteful upgrades to his car over the years. He never did anything that was irreversible since he still loved to compete in the concours events. Over the years he enjoyed giving the car his custom touches. Some of these included: Bilstein sport shocks NACA duct on headlight (for direct cold air to the engine) Bolt in roll bar with fire extinguisher Chromed forged alloy (phone dial) wheels including spare Front and rear spoilers Rear reflector panel with “924” designation Porsche 944 style rear valence Aluminum insignia door sills Strut tower bar Recently, the owner’s wife decided to get the car up to snuff and invested another $3,000. The following items were addressed: New timing belt and rollers Brake system flush Drain and flush cooling system Oil service New fuel pump, seals and accumulator New tires Replace muffler and tail pipe Repair sunroof hinges New water pump belt It looks like this car was nicely optioned from the factory with the following: Removable sunroof Alloy wheels 15x6 4-wheel disc brakes As you can imagine, this Porsche is in immaculate condition. The paint is all original and verified with a paint meter. Since a car bra was used on long drives, the paint is near perfect with little to no signs of road debris. The tires are new and the brakes look near new as well. The interior is equally as nice and ready for the concours lawn. The original seats show very little wear. The dash has a very nice cover on it and looks original. Supposedly, the dash underneath is in good condition and simply protected by the cover. The original carpet and door panels also look fantastic. California registration is paid through November 2014. This 924 comes with original owner’s manuals, original spare, tools, removable hardtop cover, cargo net, and extra keys. Unfortunately for me, and fortunately for you, I change my car every year historically, and it’s time to move on… Having owned cars from the e36 M3, to the e46 M3, to the e39 M5, to my prior car, a ‘12 Shelby GT500, it’s safe to say that the e92 M3 has been my favorite car to date. Not as raw as the e36, nor as brutal as the Shelby, but superior balance and well-rounded character. A surgical instrument if you will. If you’re a true aficionado of cars, and an experienced driver, then you’ve found the last stop in your car shop. Cost If you’re looking for the cheapest deal around, then move along to the next ad, because this isn’t it, for good reason. But before you skitter along to a lesser M3, keep in mind that, especially with pre-owned luxury vehicles, you get what you pay for. Even if that difference is only a couple of thousand. As for financing, you may already know, the problem with banks and private sales is that the lender wants the seller to be responsible for recording their lien on the title, and they can't count on private sellers doing so. Therefore, approval or even consideration is unlikely! BUT… Fantastic News: Just today, I found a cost-effective way for you to FINANCE this car, even though it’s technically a private sale. Craig at Exotic Classics in Syosset, NY has agreed to sell her through consignment at his dealership for a nominal fee of $1500 plus small DMV processing fees, to be covered by the buyer. So no lump sum needed, and you can go through the bank of your choice! Maintenance is the #1 cost factor in all BMW's not under warranty, especially pre-owned performance models, like the M cars. CPO Warranty = gold when buying a BMW. Rest assured, buying an which hasn’t been maintained as well as mine will cost you more in repairs within a few short months, and tons more over a couple years, even though you think you’re getting a better deal up front. I learned this lesson the hard way when I owned my e36 M3 and e39 M5 a few years ago. Never again will I own a BMW that hasn’t been fully sorted out beforehand, nor one that is not under warranty. And mine is as sorted as they come – I test-drove five M3’s before deciding on this one, and they didn’t feel nearly as strong (engine) or as solid (chassis). There is not a single squeak or rattle, and she accelerates like a jet plane on takeoff. You are getting a fully transferable certified pre-owned (CPO) warranty with this vehicle! What this means is that for 6 years or 100k miles (whichever comes first), your CPO M3 is fully covered bumper to bumper by BMW, and you simply drive it to the nearest dealership if something were to go wrong. This includes FREE maintenance until 2015 and full coverage until 2017. This doesn’t include wearable items like tires, but it covers all the required oil changes (which run over $200 for an M3) and inspections. This is greater than or equal to the coverage that you would get if buying a NEW BMW, even factoring in the year that I’ve owned her!!! You will no doubt make up the extra money put into the car up front within your first two years of ownership. Ask any long-term BMW owner and they will agree. Don’t fall into the ‘noob’ trap and buy a money-pit! Vehicles depreciate enough as it is without sucking your wallet completely dry. Another thing you have to think about when calculating a realistic car budget is the insurance rate. I’ve dived into purchases in the past before really checking, and the insurance company bent me over before I realized what I had done. Prior to this M3, I owned an e46 M3 with competition package and an e36 M3 Sedan, and believe it or not, the running costs of the e92 were the lowest of the three, when you factor in insurance and maintenance, which for the e92 is a pittance for what you’re driving! Please do yourself a favor and do your research beforehand. History A BMW-owned (California) car by origin, I am really the first owner on the title even though I purchased her pre-owned. As I said above, I chose this particular M3 after an extensive search, purchasing her a year ago at Paul Miller BMW in NJ. I put mostly highway miles on her this past year on excursions out of the city (Virginia, upstate NY, NJ, CT, PA), and she has been Rock Solid. For the last year she was protected in a heated ventilated garage, and not driven during inclement weather. I didn’t take her out in the winter at all, leaving the dirty work to my WRX. She has not been parked on the street and the only markings on the body are the usual highway chips on the front bumper that you would come to expect on a highway vehicle. ALL necessary inspections, services and maintenance are up to date and this car is a true gem! I test drove five other e92 M3s before settling on this one, and if you’ve had the pleasure of doing likewise, you’ll already know that every pre-owned M3 feels different once you get behind the wheel. Some feel tired, squirmy, squeaky or even sluggish, while others, like this one, feel vault-Like, tight and responsive. After only a couple miles in her, I was sold, and I drove her home the same day I tested her, without having to think any further. When you know you know. She ran like a dream on that first trip, and has been super-reliable, not to mention exciting as hell, ever since. With this e92 M3 you get so much car for the money it’s stupid. An $80,000 460bhp (Yes, you read that right, with the mods, 10% above stock numbers!) top-of-the-line monster for the price of an optioned 335 is laughable, and only in the good ol’ US of A do such deals exist, so let us all count our blessings! Plus, with the tasteful, functional and REVERSIBLE modifications I have made, running me upwards of another $10,000, this particular M3 will easily out-perform a stock model, not to mention most other cars out there on the road. Sadly, the e92 M3 may be the last true M-car, the last Mohican of a dying breed. It’s a shame that governmental regulations are pushing naturally aspirated, race-derived engines into the halls of history, but turbo-charging is that way of the future, and present it would seem. The mechanical cacophony of the engine sounds, the predictability of the throttle response, and the race heritage behind every goose of the gas and roar of the V8… will be no more. My original plan was to keep her, turn her into a dedicated track car as I moved on to modifying my next road car, but my baby arriving in two months squashed that plan! Anyhow, as I was saying, this last true non-turbocharged V8 M-car is a collector’s item of sorts, since she’s the last naturally aspirated race-derived M. Cnet summed it up nicely: “My car for the training may just be the last of its breed. The E92 BMW M3 is a naturally aspirated monster of a car; 414 bhp falls out of its 4.0-litre V8 and pushes it from 0-62 mph in just 4.6 seconds. The noise it kicks out is mechanical, raw, and guttural -- it's bordering on antisocial. The M3 still cuts a fine figure six years after its initial launch. As I'd later discover, it's also quite mad, a little like a chap in a Saville Row suit hiding a knuckle duster in his pocket and a dragon tattoo on his back.” Cnet.com continues: “The M3 is incredible - it's punishingly fast and unbelievably capable. Way more than I am, in fact. Should my fat feet fall a little too keenly, the car's electronic brain takes over, keeps everything in check and allowing me to continue until the next cock up. I'm man enough to admit that I'm no driving deity and that traction control light is the kind of safety net I enjoy. Each time it flashes, it's like a parent telling me it's "not angry, but disappointed" and letting me on my way. We both know I'm going to do something stupid again, mind you. The M3's power delivery is smooth, linear, crisp even. Shoving your foot as far as it'll go feels like you've been shot out of a rubber-band gun - there's elegance to its acceleration and momentum that other cars, the Audi RS4 included, simply don't have… The E92, though, is liable to be the last naturally aspirated M car… The purity of the mechanical engine notes that previously fell out of the M3, I fear, will be gone. It'll be replaced by a straight six with two whacking turbos on it… The opportunity to thrash the last of a kind was then, obviously, not one to be missed.” Performance Since this M3 was to be tracked she underwent several performance modifications to improve handling, acceleration, braking, and to reduce the factory understeer, which was engineered into the car for safety reasons. The skill level of most drivers simply cannot contend with 400+ rampaging horses, and correctly dialed-in, understeer provides appropriate and necessary feedback, clueing the less experienced driver in, so that they can ‘back-off’ once the vehicle starts ‘pushing’ in corners. The pucker factor induces throttle lift, which causes oversteer, rotating the car safely for the soiled ones. But for high performance driving, understeer really limits you and the true abilities of your vehicle cannot be fully unlocked. If the nose car turn in better, then you can use throttle induced oversteer to rotate the vehicle, pre-emptively striking against the centripetal forces and inertia acting against you. So, to maximize the performance and handling of this M3 the following work was done by ASE Master Mechanic Marc Albert of Marc Motors in Madison, NJ. Please feel free to contact him if you have any questions, as he is fully knowledgeable as to the care and thought that went into upgrading this vehicle! KW lowering springs that function in conjunction with the stock EDC brought the car down about an inch, improving center of gravity while removing the unsightly wheel-well gap. H&R sway bars replaced the smaller stock units, flattening body roll. Turner motorsports spacers widened the stance, and completed the filling of the wheel wells. Vorshlag Front Camber/Caster Plates brought the front camber to approximately -3.0 and the rear to -2.0. Wheel studs replaced the wheel lug bolts to facilitate easier removal and installation of wheels and tires. The stance and suspension changes are subtle, but noticeably more aggressive to the trained eye. With the custom alignment, I did not notice extra tramlining, as one may be lead to expect. Steering is non-jittery and on-center feel is solid. No undue tire wear has resulted and in fact it tire wear has improved, since more of the front rubber was being used to turn the car. I refreshed the tires last fall, at the end of the season to Michelin Pilot Supersports and they have plenty of tread left. With these modifications, and the reduction of body roll and understeer, the car can now ‘rotate’ much more easily through turns. More throttle can be used to induce oversteer and rotation, advanced techniques that are incredibly rewarding and fun. She’s still fully predictable, turn-in is crisp, and the ‘push’ common to stock M3’s is all but gone! I retained the stock EDC shocks since they are high quality and expensive components allowing adjustability in ride handling from comfort to track. It was very important to me that I retain the famous BMW compliance over bumps and ruts, as you want to have a car that isn’t always overly stiff, retaining comfort for long slogs and road-trips. To facilitate left foot braking and better weight transfer during high performance driving, I had a pedal set fabricated by Ultimate Pedals, and Installed by Marc Motors. The brake pedal is extended, as a distance proximal enough to the dead pedal that you don’t have to strain or waste time reaching for the brake with the left foot. A simple heel pivot does the trick! The throttle medal is matching, and both are milled from billet aluminum. I have the original pedals if you wish to revert to stock. It’s another well-known fact that the e92 brakes are a weak point. Not any more. I replaced the stock calipers, rotors, and pads with a high-performance Big Brake Kit by Stoptech. Designed specifically for the e92 M3, this SLOTTED ST-60 / ST-40 BBK measuring 380mm up front, and 355mm in the rear - is awesome! To rein in the power and speed this beast produces, you MUST have good stopping power. Not only do they perform, but they also look the part, and really complete the aesthetics of the M3, with the pizza-sized rotors and bright red calipers. Show and go. These brakes have less than 1k miles on them and have never been tracked. On the street, she stops on a dime. I added the Cantrell Brake Duct kit to keep brake temperatures low on track, prior to installing the BBK. Even without the BBK, with the use of Stoptech performance pads, the brake ducting really does keep fade at bay! Once the handling and braking improved, the car could handle more power, reining it in better with the chassis set-up. So I went to Autocoutre Motoring in Fair Lawn NJ, where I had ACM test pipes and an ESS tune installed. This adds up to 40 horsepower at the wheels in combination with the Meisterschaft GT2 cat-back exhaust and cat-delete. The ESS tune codes out any faults, and I easily passed the NYS emissions test last December. But this modification, just like the rest, is fully reversible for about $150 at ACM, and I may even have it performed should the buyer request it. At the reigns lies a beautiful Alcantara wrapped BMW performance flat-bottom steering wheel. She came with this from the dealer, an $800 part, and it feels brand new. I used driving gloves most of the time, to preserve the suede-like feel for you! I must make a note here for the ‘fraidy cats, that even though this M3 did see some track time (8 events), she has not been thrashed or abused. She has been fully inspected both before and after each even by a master mechanic, the fluids have been changed much more frequently than other normal M3s, and I myself am a babier of vehicles, even though I do drive them responsibly and respectfully fast, as they’re designed for, but well under the limits of their abilities, and closer to the limits of mine! Not once did the engine temperature jump above normal operating range on track, and not once did she burn off any extra oil. In the year that I’ve owner her I’ve added ½ quart! If you know M-cars, this is an absurdly low amount of oil, as these cars are renowned as oil-guzzlers. Consider this fine example track-tested, with an A+ passing grade of performance, durability, and reliability. Also consider that many M-cars that are not opened up enough, not driven on highways, or driven too hard when cold develop engine flaws and defects far more serious that those in M-cars which are driven the way they’re meant to be driven, and proven their worth. Again, I replaced the tires with Michelin Pilot Supersports at the end of last year, and I am religious about checking tire pressure every week, not to mention the oil levels, which have not changed since I’ve owned her. Many M3s you will encounter are thirsty for oil, and an example like this – that burns NONE – is hard to come by in the pre-owned market! Excitement Allow me to comment here on the soundtrack of this M3. I chuckle out loud each and every time she revs over 3k. The bark out of her is ferocious, but not obnoxious. As loud as you want to be, quiet at idle, all the way up to crap-in-your-britches-if-you’re-an-innocent-bystander loud, when you open her up! Not intrusive when the windows are up though, and no annoying highway drone. Email me for some sample video footage. The first thing I changed was the exhaust, as I firmly believe that a V8 should be allowed to breathe properly and be heard! I was looking for loud, throaty and exotic. The Meisterschaft GT2 cat-back exhaust is designed for racing, but has a controlled, quality sound, not raspy nor drony. The X-pipe modification has a tendency to develop rasp at certain RPM ranges, and I didn’t want to hear any high frequency noise, so I skipped it. After the ACM test pipes went in, and the ESS tune was uploaded, the result was incredible, and I immediately fell in love with the sound – I thought I’d never get over the sound of the GT500, but this fit the bill, only in a more expensive exotic crazy kinda way. Any car enthusiast who has had the honor of hearing this beast’s throttle fully open is shocked as the quality and depth of the V8 roar. You can recognize the race-bred staccato of this F-1 inspired engine when she revs, yet she is completely docile and livable when you’re not ‘on it’! Do not buy this car if you’re looking for a sleeper. She’s an extrovert looking for attention. Which brings me to the Valentine One! What an amazing radar / laser detector. I’ve owned several, but this one sees the fuzz even AROUND turns and over hills, up to a mile away!!! It is simply amazing, and 100% accurate. The unit is hardwired and concealed inside the roof-liner and the controller is hidden inside the rearview mirror, placing the read-out of the radar detector right in front of you but out of sight. Not that you’d be doing anything illegal, of course. Even though this M3 begs you to go faster, the funny thing is, I actually rarely surpass the posted speed limit. Seriously. Something about knowing that you have 460 horses beneath your right foot, to use at will, actually has a calming effect. As does track driving. You no longer have something to prove. It could just be old age too… But knowing that you’re cruising comfortably in a top-of-the-line ultimate driving machine is enough to keep the grin on your mug regardless of whether you’re doing single, double or triple-digit velocities. This car FEELS fast at any speed. Aesthetics The very first upgrade I made to her was switching out the old-fashioned yellow incandescent halo angel eyes for super-bright white HID Angel Eyes by Alpine MSS. I had these installed professionally by Stefano and team at Auto Design NYC in Chelsea. They did a bang up job, so I also had the Valentine One hardwired and concealed by them. The install for both was over $1k, but the work is unparalleled and looks and behaves like factory. The HID angel eyes are even brighter that newer BMWs, and are powerful enough to illuminate parking lots at nighttime. They don’t really come out to well in photos because they’re so bright. Tom Kovach runs his Art of Tint business out of several locations, one of them being Auto Design NYC. I had two previous vehicles tinted by Tom at his Brooklyn location, and I had this M3 tinted by him in Manhattan. He is a true professional and specialist at what he does and I had him put the finest ceramic tint (a legal 35% on the side and rear windows). If you’ve ever attempted tinting a BMW, you know by now that the annoying dots surrounding the perimeter of the door windows and the rear glass are difficult for tinters to negotiate, and they often cause bubbles and other deformations in the tint film. Tom has a secret technique that bonds the tint beautifully around these stupid dots, leaving nary a bubble! A small detail, but an important one! Carbon. It just sounds cool. And it looks even cooler. Contrasting against the Alpine White paint, the carbon bits look amazing. When I bought her she came with the Carbon roof, mirror covers, front splitters, and trunk spoiler. I added the rear diffuser when I had the exhaust installed. The carbon BMW license plate bracket on the rear finishes off the look nicely. Pull up to your next Black & White party in true style. And don’t forget to don the included free BMW-brand M-logo B&W T-shirt to complete the douchiness! I listed the wheel spacers above under performance, but I really added them to widen out the stance and fill out the fugly fender gaps in the wheel wells. European carmakers are required by law to leave a certain amount of fender gap, so that snow chains can be used. Good for winters, bad for the look of your M3. I tried Macht Schnell spacers and H&R spacers before settling on 20mm & 15mm Turner Motorsports spacers front and rear. The others vibrated and were difficult to remove, but the TMS spacers are solid at any speed while providing the desired wider stance. These were removed for track duty, and they do not cause any rubbing front or rear. Practicality On to the boring stuff we with kids actually think about. Practicality and performance are two major reasons for buying this car. This M3 is practical. Perhaps the most practical high performance sports car on the market. Huge trunk, and fold-down rear seats with pass through. Plenty of rear passenger legroom – actually, just as much legroom as some sedans I’ve ridden in. Two adults comfortably occupy the rear. My son much preferred the spacious back seat to that of the cramped GT500. On trips upstate I get 24 MPG. Around town in mixed driving and even in heavy traffic I average around 18 MPG. For a 4.6sec 0-60 race-bred sports car with 460bhp, this is PHENOMENAL! I typically get greater than 300 miles from a full tank of 93-octane gas. But if you’re really worried about fuel economy, then why the hell have you read this far already?! A great highway cruiser and compliant around town, she’s a very usable machine begging to be driven more than I can drive her now. The cold weather package will keep your buns toasty with heated seats, and your headlights clean with washer sprays. The premium package includes the much nicer Nappa leather interior; with durable sport bucket seats that show no signs of wear and provide adjustable lumbar, thigh and lateral support. These are some of the most comfortable seats in any car. They are fully supportive, so you can drive all day in comfort. The dash and center console are spotless. The carpets are clean and it is smoke-free. The DCT clutch is truly a wonder to experience. Every other car before this that I owned was a manual, so I was a bit hesitant to go the ‘auto’ route at first. But for high performance driving, or simple laziness around town, the DCT cannot be beaten! Why do you think Ferrari doesn’t even offer sticks any more? They just can’t keep up! The DCT engages smoothly and immediately, and it feels as strong and as crisp as new – she is a pleasure to shift each and every time, and the speed of the shift must be experienced to be believed. The hill start assist comes in handy, as does the adjustability in the speed and comfort of the shifts. Level 1 up to the hidden Level 6 means slower more compliant shifts all the way up to machine gun shift speeds! The blips on downshift are a special treat, and I find myself doing it superfluously in tunnels and under overpasses just to hear the exhaust bark and bubble. Or to make innocent passers-by jump! Conclusion At BMW of Manhattan, where I routinely have her detailed – the service technicians are always amazed at the condition she’s in! I have the oil changed with BMW fully synthetic every 3k miles. Oil changes can be done more frequently, depending on your driving habits, but are not mandatory according to BMW, and therefore not covered by the service warranty. The regularly scheduled oil changes are covered. BMW and Carfax.com have the complete service history, and I have receipts for every penny I’ve spent. Some minor dents in the body paneling have been removed (paintless), as I am a fanatic about detail. Nobody else even noticed them. Other drawbacks? A small scratch exists on the driver side rear wheel, but it is barely noticeable and wasn’t enough to chip the black paint. Otherwise, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this M3 - she drives straight as an arrow and stops on a dime. No wrecks, no dings, no dents, no paintwork, no squeaks, no rattles, no oil consumption, no engine clatter or vibrations - no surprises, no worries! Just a solid piece of German-engineered machinery. Since I’ve owned her, she’s been parked off-street in a parking garage in Manhattan when used into the city, or in a heated garage in Greenwich, CT during the colder months. Everything else checks out A-OK, nothing otherwise worn, or in need of replacement. She has been hand-washed at least every other week, or when dirty. I’ve had her computer aligned twice now to ensure proper wear and tracking. The title is clean and there is no salvage history or flooding to worry about. Again, there is no catch - this is simply the nicest, cleanest, best-modified e92 M3 you will find at this price point, period. Steer clear of lesser cars that will drain your wallet in the long run!! I’ve rarely revved the engine past 4k rpm in normal everyday use, which is where it really comes alive, save for the occasional sprint through the Battery Tunnel or on the Van Wyke International Speedway, and the HPDE events last year. Running at full-bore is what this machine is designed for, and unless you exercise the engine every so often, she'll actually not function optimally. Again, even though her legs were stretched, this car was not raced or abused, nor driven recklessly. Smoothness is key on the track, and she has proven herself to be rock-solid and reliable. The oil color and level didn't even degrade, but it was changed before and after each event regardless. The exotic European growl from the famous (and now out-of production) 4.0L V8 is euphoric, and it doesn’t even demand irrational speeds to be enjoyed! Speed comes on linearly as revs build, and the car reacts telepathically to every steering input you make, or think about making! Folks, this is one of the BEST chassis designs, period, and one of the best-ever engines, period, of ANY road-going vehicle ever produced. If I had the means, I’d sure as hell keep her as a collectible – and that was my original plan! Again, this M3 feels stronger than other M3s I’ve driven (including the other five I drove before deciding on this one), and WAY stronger than my e36 M3 and e46 M3. I also owned the e39 M5 beforehand, and the Shelby GT500, but they were pigs compared to this M3. I feel that the modifications made truly complement and enhance this car, but if needs be I may still revert her to stock and part her out. Please no inquiries or dibs on the parts just yet; I will post them for sale here if that’s the route I decide to take. Maybe it’s just me, but the newer BMWs seem to have lost their racy edge, and they are boring me. The last true M-car has the best blend of primal power and practical features, along with the lowest running costs and insurance rates. She feels more ‘solid’, more ‘racy’, more ‘raw’ - and the controls, especially the throttle, feel much more responsive than any turbo car will ever display. Here, you have a chance here to own a piece of motorsport history! Buy newer, buy boring and buy more expensive… and EAT the depreciation! This M3 was simply the best choice when I decided on a car, and she would still be my first choice if I were to do it over again. Straight from a dealer, any certified pre-owned BMW you encounter; you won’t find one that has all the wrinkles ironed out like this has. No Squeaks, no rattles, no worries, no surprises!! If you’re serious about purchasing this car, you are welcome to come examine her in Greenwich, CT. I baby her, and I hope to pass her along to somebody who’ll treat her equally as well! I personally have never bought sight-unseen, but with this vehicle you can trust that it is as I have described. Upon payment of a deposit, I will be happy to bring her to a convenient location for a PPI. I sold my 2002 Firehawk, my 1998 e36 M3, and my 2005 e46 M3 all through Ebay with no hassles, and I have an excellent 100% positive feedback rating. I will work with you to arrange shipping, and I can also pick you up from JFK, LaGuardia or Newark if you want to fly in and drive her home. As far as payment goes, I accept wire transfer, Certified/Bank check, cash in person, or consignment through Exotic Classics as described above. Paypal can be used for the deposit to hold her. IMPORTANT: due to countless scammers out there now, we will have to wait until the funds clear on my end before I will release the keys and sign off on the title. This vehicle is being sold as is. I have made a diligent effort to accurately describe and photograph the vehicle. I have many more photos if the ones presented don’t show something you’re looking for. Your key is waiting.
