As such conversions go, the Soul EV is off to a promising start. It helps that the Soul is a stylish, well-equipped and versatile four-door hatchback to begin with, so the Soul EV is blessed with strong fundamentals. But Kia has done an admirable job with the EV part, too, and the result is a fully competitive product with an EPA-estimated 93-mile driving range.Indeed, in Edmunds testing, the Soul EV traveled further on a charge than all of its competitors managed. This impressive range is largely a function of its 27 kWh (kilowatt-hour) lithium-ion polymer battery, which gets its juice from one of two charging ports concealed behind a sliding panel in the grille. The AC port accepts either household-grade 120-volt current (requiring 24 hours for a full recharge) or 240-volt current (5 hours), while the special DC port's 480-volt current provides an 80 percent charge from empty in a claimed 33 minutes. Of course, 480-volt power sources don't exactly grow on trees, but Kia has equipped a number of its dealerships across California with DC charging stations, enabling Soul EV owners to (at least in theory) go on extended road trips with minimal downtime. The company has also partnered with PlugShare to aid in finding the nearest charger, as well as the Greenlotscharging station network to facilitate additional long-distance travel. But what about states other than California? That's the main issue with the Soul EV. Although Kia does plan to offer it in a few additional markets in 2015, it appears that the Golden State will be the focal point for the foreseeable future. Provided that you're eligible to procure a Soul EV, however, you'll find little else to quibble with. The only real compromise relative to the regular Soul is a modest loss of rear leg- and headroom, and even so, a couple of adults can still sit in back in reasonable comfort. Surprisingly, cargo space isn't affected by the battery under the floor, and the Soul EV actually feels livelier around town than its gas-powered counterpart due to the electric motor's instantly available 210 pound-feet of torque. The other thing about the Soul EV is that it's arriving a bit late to this party, so there are already some appealing alternatives. The 2015 Nissan Leaf has an 84-mile range and a smaller interior, but as the segment's pioneer, it has years of experience and proven reliability under its belt. The 2015 Ford Focus Electric drops to 76 miles of range and has a tight backseat and trunk, but it offers more engaging handling and a high-quality cabin. The 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf is the premium model in this segment, featuring classy styling and an exquisitely trimmed interior along with 83 miles of range. Notably, all three are more widely available than the Kia as of this writing. The 2015 Soul EV stacks up well, though, and there's really nothing missing from its resumé. We've given it a top Edmunds "A" rating, which is all the more impressive for Kia's first electric car.Body Styles, Trim Levels, and OptionsThe 2015 Kia Soul EV is a four-door hatchback with electric power and seating for five. It's available in two trim levels: base and + (also known as Plus). The base model's standard equipment includes a 120-volt charge cable, a DC fast-charge port, 16-inch alloy wheels with covers, automatic headlights, heated side mirrors, rear privacy glass, keyless ignition and entry, automatic climate control (with a "driver only" function to save energy), a height-adjustable driver seat, heated front seats, cloth upholstery, a heated tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an EV-specific gauge cluster with a multifunction display, and 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks. Technology features include a rearview camera, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, an 8-inch touchscreen interface with special EV functions, a navigation system, voice controls, smartphone app integration with remote vehicle access, and a six-speaker audio system with satellite radio, an auxiliary audio jack and an iPod/USB audio interface. The Soul+ adds aero windshield wipers, foglights, front and rear parking sensors, power-folding mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, leatherette (premium vinyl) dashboard and console trim, heated rear seats, a luggage net, a cargo cover and a 12-volt power outlet.A battery heating system is optional on both trim levels. Unlike the regular Soul, the EV does not offer any additional factory options or packages.Powertrains and PerformanceThe front-wheel-drive 2015 Kia Soul EV is motivated by an 81 kW electric motor (109 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque). Energy comes from a 27 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. There are two basic drive modes, Drive and Brake, with the latter providing more aggressive regenerative braking when you lift off the accelerator, which maximizes range by converting the car's forward momentum into energy for the battery. A separate Eco mode further promotes energy conservation. In Edmunds testing, a Soul EV accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 9.5 seconds, which is consistent with similarly priced all-electric competitors.EPA efficiency estimates peg the Soul EV's range at a class-leading 93 miles. The agency also projects that the Soul EV will use 32 kWh of electricity per 100 miles driven, which is roughly average for the segment (remember here that the lower the number, the better). In Edmunds testing, the Soul traveled 121.5 miles on a charge, which is longer than all but the Toyota RAV4 and Tesla Model S. Its actual, observed energy usage of 24.9 kWh on our evaluation route is on par with most competitors. All Soul EVs come with a 6.6 kW onboard charger and the aforementioned dual grille-mounted ports. On 240-volt AC power, a full charge from empty takes 5 hours, an hour longer than the Leaf -- though the Soul compensates with its superior driving range. The standard quick-charge DC port enables a charge from empty to 80 percent capacity in a claimed 33 minutes, which is comparable to other EVs with DC ports.SafetyStandard safety equipment for the 2015 Kia Soul EV includes four-wheel antilock disc brakes, hill start assist, stability and traction control, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and a rearview camera. The Soul EV also comes with a pedestrian warning system that emits a soft, artificial noise at 12 mph and under. In Edmunds brake testing, the Soul EV came to a stop from 60 mph in 125 feet, which is average for the segment but 14 feet longer than a gasoline-powered Soul we tested.Specific government crash tests of the EV weren't available as of this writing, but the regular Soul received a top five-star rating overall, with five stars for total frontal impact safety and five stars for total side-impact crash safety. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the gasoline-powered Soul its highest possible rating of "Good" in its small-overlap frontal-offset, moderate-overlap frontal-offset, side-impact and roof strength tests. The Soul's seat/head restraint design was also rated "Good" for whiplash protection in rear impacts.Interior Design and Special FeaturesThe 2015 Kia Soul EV's cabin inherits the modern look and expressive styling details of its conventional sibling, with quality materials that add an unexpectedly premium character. There are also some EV-only flourishes, including glossy white trim around the shifter and a central control layout that evokes Apple's iconic designs. Additionally, the Soul EV gets a unique gauge cluster with a 3.5-inch information display, and the standard 8-inch touchscreen includes readouts for power flow, battery status and other expected metrics. The Soul EV doesn't offer all of the regular Soul's extras, however, and that might disappoint some shoppers. If you want a panoramic sunroof, for example, or upgraded Infinity audio, you won't find it here; ditto the regular car's optional xenon headlights and 10-way power driver seat. Of course, these are all energy-intensive items that would likely compromise the EV's driving range, but still, it's less than ideal that Kia won't let you choose.Because the Kia Soul was engineered from the get-go with electrification in mind, it doesn't suffer the usual losses in trunk space (as in the Focus EV and others). There are still 18.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, expanding to a handy 49.5 cubic feet with the 60/40-split rear seatbacks folded down (it expands to 61 cubes when you utilize the removable cargo floor and undertray). This is better than most, though the e-Golf is even roomier, checking in at 22.8 and 52.7 cubic feet, respectively. Since the Soul's battery is placed under the rear passenger area, leg- and headroom are reduced versus the regular model, but not to a degree that many passengers will notice.Driving ImpressionsThe 2015 Kia Soul EV is an easy car to drive in the cut-and-thrust of daily driving. As with all EVs, its maximum amount of 210 lb-ft of torque is available immediately. Conversely, the gas-powered Soul has 151 lb-ft at the most, and you need to rev the rather noisy engine up to unlock it. Moreover, the EV's transmission only has one speed, so you'll never have to wait for a downshift like in a conventional car. The regenerative braking system will take some getting used to for EV neophytes -- when you lift off the accelerator in Brake mode, it feels like you just pulled the ripcord on a parachute -- but it should become second nature with a little exposure and is a likable feature when stuck in traffic (you rarely have to press the brake pedal). On the handling front, the Soul EV isn't what we'd call sporty, particularly with its standard low-rolling-resistance tires. It feels nimble enough, but competitors like the Ford Focus EV and Fiat 500e are sharper little urban runabouts. The adjustable-effort steering is also predictably short on feel even with the standard adjustable system that offers three different levels of effort. On the upside, the Soul EV's modest 16-inch tires have plenty of sidewall, improving ride quality and reducing road noise. Wind noise is still in abundance at highway speeds, however. The gas-powered Kia Soul crossover has picked up a string of awards over the past few months and it seems like the all-electric Soul EV is about to achieve the same. It’s been less than 2 months since the automaker commenced the sales in Europe and USA and the all-new Soul EV has already received its very-first highly-coveted award. The vehicle has been named the 2015 Car of the Year in Norway, beating out rivals such as the VW Passat and Audi A3 hybrid. The Korean automaker’s 2015 Soul EV was crowned with the award by the Dinside, the Scandinavian country’s largest consumer information service provider. They gave the all-electric Kia Soul high marks for its excellent driving range, stylish exterior design and good internal space management. The zero-emission Soul crossover has been tested under the European test cycle to travel 212 kilometers on a single charge. This places is a top in its segment in terms of range. Why’s This Car Of The Year Award Important? Norwegian consumers have taken a keen interest in electric cars! The electric vehicle sales in the country is on the rise thanks in large part to a good charging infrastructure and up to 11,500 euros in incentives that consumers receive when they purchase an EV car. The Car of The Year Award is expected to boost the value of the Kia brand in the country and benefit the Soul EV sales down the line! - See more at: http://www.kia-world.net/soul-ev-2015-award/#sthash.RPkBHh0X.dpuf Specifications LENGTH 13ft 7inWIDTH 5ft 10.9inHEIGHT 5ft 3in GROUND CLEARANCE 0ft 5.9inBody style illustration may not reflect the actual shape of this vehicle.Exterior Measurements WIDTH5 ft. 10.9 in. Before we start, please let's agree on three things: First, do not bid unless you already have funds in hand an permission from your significant other. Second, I am extremely busy...which is why I haven't gotten around to selling this car earlier. So please, please, please....be sensitive to my time. I will do the same for yours. Do not waste my time. I shoot straight and prefer to deal with only straight shooters. Showing by appointment only. Third, this car is extremely fast and attracts speed freaks. NO joyrides. This is the best price for this car anywhere on eBay, period. It's tempting to make an offer when you see car with this great a price...so if you make an offer...make sure you come through. Do not waste my time and set your expectations accordingly. It is for sale locally and is cheaper than any turbo of this year and mileage. It may end soon. ****************************************************************************************************************************************** I do not want to sell this car. It is a great car, and for the price you will not find this combination of performance, reliability and exotic appeal factor. This Porsche has the bulletproof Metzger engine that was developed for GT racing. It is so strong and expensive to make Porsche stopped using them for their new GT3 cars...and instead used an inferior engine that failed originally. The Metzger engine has never failed. If was still a bachelor or owned a 2 car garage..or if my wife was comfortable driving stick...this car would not be up for sale. The fact is, I am married, live in NYC and quite frankly need to get something more practical. A gentleman must age gracefully and accept responsibility with cheer. Until of course he buys a home with a 2 car garage. About the car:I bought this car 3 years ago, prior to my ownership it had been an Atlanta car all it's life. The previous owner was a successful older man who drove this car on the weekends and occasionally on the track. It was never abused on the track. There are ZERO major over revs (I know because I had the DME done). The car was modified, cared for and maintained by MotorWerksRacing.com. They are an exclusive Porsche shop do a lot of race prep and have an absolutely stellar reputation. Look them up online. Look at the pictures. Their vast experience is evident. The car came with the following mods already installed, with $40k plus in receipts (the original shop has the receipts, I do not). These are all very high quality, well established names. All the mods are bolt on, work seamlessly and are dead set reliable. My experience with the car: Before I bought the car I did a full pre-purchase inspection at JSS motorsports with Bert, the owner. You need to understand I am a very risk averse person. I'm the kind of guy that looks up airline safety records and the financial stability of my insurance company. I don't bet on individual stocks, I put my money into mutual funds. In fact, I am a risk manager by training. So I did my pre-purchase homework...I sure as hell was not taking any unnecessary risks. Look up Bert Mota on the Porsche forums. We confirmed there were no major over revs, leaks, IMS issues, etc. To quote, "whoever put this car together definitely knew what they were doing". People are sometimes afraid of lightly driven track cars. This is a misconception for a performance vehicle like Porsche. Putting the car through the paces determines very early on if you've got a dud or a winner. This car is a winner. This engine and transmission is solid. He is the most honest mechanic I have ever known. I have to prompt him to charge me for more business...he never over charges and he shoots straight. I have serviced my car with them ever since. They just serviced the car 2 months ago and did smog/certify. Please feel free to call Bert, he'll tell you the unvarnished truth. jssperformance.com or call (516) 877-9899. Do not buy this car if you do not like attention. It has a deep growl and occasionally sets of car alarms. I only drive this car on roadtrips including a round trip to Canada. In my time this car has been a joy. This it is all that it has needed:A clutch replaced 2,000 miles ago, replaced the coil pack (both preventative) and changed spark plugs. Obviously oil changes every year or every 1.5 k miles whichever comes first. In my three years these are the only things I had to do to the car other than maintenance...a broken solenoid bracket ($30 part and a very common problem), replaced a turbo hose ($120 part) and replaced a MAF ($120 part). It has been so much cheaper to maintain than my previous BMWs! Amazing. This car was keyed once. I had it fixed under insurance at Porsche. They repainted the whole car except the roof and wing. You would never have known to look at, but I want to be upfront about it. What's wrong with the car: Again, for the price of this car...you are getting an amazing deal....seriously...compare my price to any other car on eBay on any classified. It's half the price of a 2008 turbo with 90% of the performance. As you can see, this car has been pretty amazing for a 13 year old car that can accelerate from 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds. But it is also a 13 year old car.1) There are some cosmetic dings here and there. It is still a stunning car but it is not pristine.2) The right rocker panel is cracked towards the bottom from going over a high speed bump. Hard to see but wanted to be up front (look at pic)3) The hydraulic wing that goes up at 75mph sensor is faulty. Common problem. 4) Bert says if I want to get less vibration in the car, to replace the engine mounts with dynamic mounts. Doesn't affect performance or reliability of the car. Again nothing that affects reliability and functioning of the car. You may have never noticed this, but again, I want to be honest. About me: They say when it comes to used cars...buy the seller not the car. I believe in karma and would never sell something that I would not myself buy. If my brother worked in NYC instead of Toronto, he'd be buying this car. There's a good chance a couple of years from now...I may want to buy this car back from you, I love it that much. I am selling only to buy a luxury SUV or sedan. Call or text me with any questions: 203 747 5259. This car is very fast. NO joyrides. Final words: I am in no hurry to sell this car. That said, I'm not an irrational seller looking to monetize every last ounce of intrinsic value from this car. I'd rather have a hassle free, expedient transaction and give up a little capital gain in the process. In turn, extend me the courtesy of following through as you would any business transaction. If you want this car shipped, you do all the work. My end of the deal is to get money in my bank and that's it. I have zero time to facilitate shipping from my end. I'd much prefer you see this car in person. This car is advertised locally and can sell at anytime. This is an amazing value proposition for the lucky winner. You cannot even buy an M3 with this amount of power, looks and reliability. This is a bullet proof car that will only go up in value. It will happily outrun most things and sound like pure sex doing it. Women will flock to you. People will take pictures of you in the car. Young boys coping with the stressors only post-pubescence can produce will try and race you in their very fast Subarus. It comes with the territory. You will love this car if you win.

Hello Ebayers, In the last few years, I've had the good fortune to stumble upon and own some very nice 1980's vintage Japanese sports cars. Each one has impressed me with with their build quality, intelligent features, dependability, advanced design and sheer fun-to-drive attitude. Is it any wonder these cars are now being sought out by car enthusiasts around the world. The Datsun 240Z, Mazda RX7, Toyota Supra, Honda Prelude, and more, all showing the world they were a force to be reckoned with. Included in this elite group performers would certainly be the mid-engine, fuel injected 2 passenger Toyota MR2. And also like most of these other cars, the first generation of these cars represent the purist, most highly prized form of the design. This week I present my bone stock 1987 Toyota MR2. I purchased this car recently, not sure if I was going to keep it for the long haul or sell and go after a car I lust after more. Since aquiring the car, I've spent some time taking care of some little fixes and general clean up. The car is now registered to me and inspected in the state of Vermont and insured through Hagerty. As a carguy, I love knowing the ownership history of a particular car that was well documented. Unfortunately, this car has just the basics. What I do know is up until just a few months ago, it was a one owner car, bought new at Lertola's Inc. in Middlebury, Vermont, just 35 miles south of where I live. It was bought new by J. Michael Blais on 6 - 26 - 1987. This info is in the origiinal Toyota Owner's Guide included with the car. There are also 2 entries in the Maintanence Record of the first service in Sept of 87 and the 10,000 mile service from Jan 88. In Jan 2001, Mr. Blais moved to Grapevine, Texas w/ 109,779 miles according to the CARFAX, where it remained until he had put 152,555 miles on it by 4 / 07, according to the old Texas title. I believe both he and the MR2 came back to Essex Junction, Vermont till 4 / 2014, then went to nearby Hinesburg, Vermont. In Oct 2014, Thomas Boudah in Colchester, Vermont bought the car. I purchased the Toyota from Mr. Boudah. I got it on 6 - 15 - 15 with 160947 miles on it. It now has 161088 miles on it. And that's about all I know of this MR2's origins. You can click on the VEHICLE HISTORY REPORT tab above to view the CARFAX Report. BODY - Clearly this little Toyota was well cared for all its life. The fact that is spent much of it's years in dry Texas and had to have been driven little if at all here, is quite evident as it would not have survived 28 Vermont winters. She is in nicely preserved condition. As a car painter for many years, I feel I can assess a car's body pretty well. So here's what I have found. At some point, the left side of the car, including fender, door and quarter panel were painted, no evidence of repairs, so my guess is it was probably door dings or perhaps a key scratch. Certainly no major bodywork was performed and the work done was of high quality, possibly even done early on as warranty work. I repainted both front and rear bumper covers as the original clear was beginning to breakdown, and looked weak compared to the rest of the car. Other than that, it is the oriiginal 28 year old Toyota factory applied code 8E3, Dark Blue Pearl Mica Two Stage urethane. There are a couple of small door dings on the right side and one on the left quarter, and numerous small rock chips in the hood and lower front bumper facia and a few scattered around the car. The paint was recently professionally machine buffed and hand detailed. It is about as deep and lustrous as it was new and really glows in the sun. This is my favorite color available for the MR2. As for rust, there are a couple of minor isolated surface rust spots on the right rear wheel opening edge and the bottoms of both fenders. Again, these are pretty minor spots. The underside of the body and remainder of body panels are solid, original and Texas dry. INTERIOR -Overall the original 28 year old interior is in amazing condition, again reflecting the obvious care this MR2 has received all its life. If you didn't know better, you'd think this car had less than 30,000 miles, seats, carpet, dashpad, door panels are all in near new condition. No holes, no cracks, nice Toyota floormats, a true driver's environment. Much like the similar era Toyota Supra, the driver's seat is multi-adjustable and extremely comfortable with adjustable lumber, side bolsters and bottom height adjustments, as well as the usual forward/backward movement and seatback angle. All gauges, lights and accessories work. Despite it's somewhat exotic mid-engine layout, it's first and foremost a Toyota and built with Toyota quality. "Oh What a Feeling " indeed! DRIVETRAIN / DRIVING IMPRESSIONS - I've admired these cars for a long time. When the chance came up to buy this one, I jumped at it. Once again, Toyota proved to the world it could create a reliable, fun to drive sports car. The twist with the MR2 was it was a lightweight, mid-engine car with no real competition. With just 161,000 miles in 28 years, this MR2 has travelled just a bit over 5700/year. As far as what has been done to the engine, I have no information. What I can tell you is it does not smoke, leak or make any funny noises. With the car running, removing the oil filler cap, there is no blow-by. She winds up freely and smartly with spirited, smooth acceleration and pulls hard through the entire rpm range. Remember, this car has a 7500 rpm redline! The twin cam four, fuel injected, 112 hp, 1600 moves this 2350 pound car surprisingly quick. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly in all gears, no whining or grinding or popping out of gear. Rear end is quiet. Imagine as a kid, you designed a go-kart that was faster than your imagination and handled like it was on rails. That in a nutshell is The MR2. Cornering ability is truly amazing. The mid-engine configuration is like nothing I've ever driven before. This is a truly impressive and amazingly fun car to drive. Steering and suspension are tight with seemingly no issues to speak of. She takes a bump with control and a corner with authority. And while it's no big block, as light as the car is, she is surprisingly quick and nimble. Tires are mis-matched, 2 Pirellis in front getting close to the wear bears 2 Fuzions in the rear have over 50% tread left, stock 14" Toyota wheels. OPTIONS / FEATURES - I'm no expert on these cars. I've owned a few similar era Japanese sports cars that were more luxuriously optioned. These first generation MR2's I believe represent more of a true driver's car, not as concerned with a lot of fluff. That said, it is nicely equipped with:Factory T - Top removable roof panels, includes original storage bags which mount behind the seats. Also includes often missing the removeable inner roof panels to keep sunlight outFactory air conditioning - I am having it professionally serviced on Wed 7/22 and will follow up on that Wed night.Factory AM-FM Cassette 4 speaker stereo - works in all it's 1987 glory! Plug in a Flock of Seagulls cassette and you are good to go!Power Antenna - worksRear Window Defroster - worksTilt Steering ColumnMulti-Adjustable Drivers Seat - Lumbar adjustment, seat bottom height adjustment, side bolster adjustmentOriginal Owner's Manual, Owner's Guide and Texas title. FINAL THOUGHTS - I really wish I knew more about the history and had the paper trail to go with it. I love that stuff. But I don't. But take a close look at the pictures. After 28 years, this car shows true pride of ownership. You could not beat a car for nearly 3 decades and still have it look, function and perform like this little blue beauty does. I am shocked at the attention it gets from young and old alike. Most people have no idea what it is. I have tried to price it based on sales I've recently seen here on ebay. The car is pretty much ready to enjoy right now. My hope is the air conditioning system will be working properly by the end of Wednesday. I am going to have the system evacuated and recharged with 134A by a professional shop, not just sticking a can of freon in there and hoping for the best, thus hoping to bring it back to life. If I were to keep the car, I would want to detail the engine compartment to make it look on par with the rest of the car. Also, I'd probably break down and buy some updated low profile wheels and tires just because I love that look. But for now, she remains as Toyota built her. Regarding ownership, Vermont does not issue paper titles on vehicles 15 years or older, some other states do this as well. Please do not confuse this with a car with no title. It is legally registered to me here in Burlington, Vermont. I have sold cars from Vermont to folks outside of Vermont before and it will not be an issue. You can check with your local DMV. I will provide you with the current registration card in my name, signed by me and a Bill of Sale. Your state will then issue you a paper title. Vermont does not collect old titles when registering older cars either, that's why the Texas title stayed with the car. Shipping is the BUYERS responsibility. If you do not have your finances in order, please don't waste my time or yours. Any questions or want specific photos?, please ask. Thanks and enjoy the pics, Brent EXTERIOR - INTERIOR - REAR TRUNK - ENGINE COMPARTMENT - FRONT COMPARTMENT/SPARE TIRE - TIRES/WHEELS - UNDERSIDE - RESTING COMFORTABLY IN THE GARAGE -

All of these are huge investment independently that come together to create a coupe that will stay in everyone's mind whether it's on the car show lawn or tearing up the streets. Usually seeing a split-bumper bad boy Z28 Camaro is enough to get your heart racing, but on this one, it's just a little bonus. You've never seen a custom air brushed graphics kit on a car like this before, and no one you pass will ever see one like this again. It takes an amazing imagination to turn this coupe into a mural of riveted steel with a midnight thunderstorm trying to bust through. People will flock to see the jagged appearance of the graphics and then be amazed as they come closer to see it hidden beneath all that butter-smooth clearcoat. The paintwork is the key to an aggressive package that's reinforced by the Weld Pro-Star wheels staggered for a racer's stance, duck tail rear spoiler, and of course, the massive air scoop on the hood. This outrageously wild child of a Camaro has a surprisingly inviting interior. There was money recently invested in keeping it pleasant with items like a new dash pad and new covers for the re-foamed bucket seats. You get a grippy three-spoke Grant flame steering wheel, and beyond that is a full set of digital gauges glowing an aggressive red. Your right hand will split its time between resting on the B&M line lock performance shifter and changing the channels on the full Sony AM/FM/CD/DVD/XM radio. That last part is connected to a full sound system that includes a Rockford Fosgate subwoofer in the trunk. While the stereo is amazing, you might have noticed this one has custom set of T-tops built into the body (the factory didn't offer these until years later.) We think this was added because nothing is more hypnotic than the roar coming from the exhaust. After one look at the giant hood scoop we're surprised you didn't skip ahead to read more about the motor. Who could blame you for wanting to get a look at that amazing 383 stroker V8 that has less than 3,700 miles on it since over $12,000 was invested on a full custom build. The tidy engine bay is now packed with performance parts such as an Eagle 4340 forged stroker crank on a four-bolt main, Eagle H Beam rods, J&E Forged Nitrous pistons (rated at 10.5:1 compression for running on pump gas), AFR aluminum heads, Comp Cams roller camshaft, Edelbrock Endurashine RPM intake, Holley HP 950 CFM four-barrel carburetor, high volume fuel pump, electric fan, and full MSD ignition kit. There's a ton more upgrades to list, but we simply don't have the space to do it. Just know that the full package exhales powerfully through Hooker Super Competition ceramic headers on its way to the Flowmaster dual exhaust with performance H-pipe construction. It has been dynoed at 523 horsepower at the rear wheels, and when the 250 nitrous shot is engaged, it puts down 742 hp to the road. That could be a power overload to the drivetrain if it was not reinforced with a GM TH350 three-speed automatic that has been built with all billet internals and a 4,000 RPM stall converter. There's also adjustable traction bars to keep those massive 255/70R15 rear tires planted. Keeping all this power harnessed is well in hand thanks to power steering and front disc brakes. This is an amazing build that's made to go fast and to look fierce doing it. It's the one-of-a-kind Camaro you can't forget, and so it will haunt you if you miss out. klemke Store Increase traffic to your listing with Auctiva's FREE Scrolling Gallery.1960 Impala Convertible This car is drop dead gorgeous! People flock to this car and take pictures while cruising in town. An original Nevada Car, it is dry, solid and has garaged continuously since renovation. Renovation was professionally done about 5 years ago. The renovation included the interior of the car, and it looks great! New seats, door panels, carpet, top boot, etc. It has been done in its original hounds tooth pattern. This Impala has power windows, and the vent windows are also power! The power top was rebuilt with new pump, lines, cylinders and a black top. All the original stainless was re-polished and the bumpers re-chromed. The transmission was upgraded to a 350 turbo and shifts great. This Impala gets its aggressive stance from a full air ride suspension that was professionally installed. It has all high quality components from Air Ride Technologies, Viar, SMC, ect. The suspension was also newly installed 5 years ago. It is fully adjustable by the press of a button, and can be set at your desired ride height. All the suspension is bolt on. The car has Tublar upper and lower control arms, with poly bushings, etc. A wishbone setup was installed in the rear, which with the air ride, is a huge improvement over the off centered 3 link. The car rides and handles great! This car was fitted with a new set of chrome Torque Thrust II wheels, 18s in front and 20x10 in the rear, wrapped in new z-rated rubber. These wheels were installed when the renovation was completed 5 years ago. The braking system was also completely upgraded at that time. It has 4 wheel brakes, with slotted and drilled rotors, red calipers, stainless braided hoses and a power dual reservoir master cylinder. The car has a 605 close ratio power steering setup, which makes making turns a breeze! Much easier and nicer to drive than factory power steering. No expense was spared when doing the renovations 5 years ago, and the car has hardly been driven since then! This is your opportunity to purchase a car that is for sure to be a good investment. '60 Chevy's are constantly gaining in popularity and value, and a car of this level is sure to be a great investment. The pictures speak for themselves. This one of those cars that really doesn't even need a description! I highly encourage any interested buyers to come see the car in person. Today that spirit has made them a true unique cruiser, and in the case of this 1965 Buick Skylark Gran Sport with its 401 numbers-matching V8, there might be no more affordable way to get a classy classic with this much power. The body is a little more curvaceous than your garden-variety Chevelle, and the factory-correct white paint goes perfect with Buick's premium image. As you look over this coupe, there's plenty of evidence that this has led a cared for life with correct maintenance and upkeep, but not so much that it ruined this car's original attitude. The real attention is in the details, such as how nicely the big hood and deck lid fit. Buick's designs were coming into the modern era during this time and had done away with gratuitous chrome on their cars. This makes the big bumpers, grille, and iconic portholes impressive standout styling elements. But what really sets this car apart are the '60s sporting touches, such as the wire wheels, black vinyl roof, and the original Gran Sport badging. Nothing feels as '60s cool as the moment you sit down in the red vinyl bucket seats, grab the gearshift, and rest your arm on the center console. Every piece of original trim is still in place, from the chrome on the door panels, to the Buick crest sitting below the dash. The interior has pristine seating for five, but the driver gets all the real treats. The stylish red Buick steering wheel sits in front of the big original gauges. You'll love all of the accessories that still look fresh from the factory, including the heater/defrost controls and the AM radio, that still spells out B-U-I-C-K in the preset buttons. Under the hood you'll find a numbers-matching Wildcat 445 V8 named after its torque rating. An interesting marketing approach, these engines actually displace 401 cubic inches and were topped by a freshly built carter four-barrel carburetor that provides reliable startups. Regardless of the name, this powerplant advertised an impressive 325 horsepower. The Wildcat is hooked up to a dual exhaust system, but unlike the brutish muscle cars, this is a sophisticated animal. So the low-end rumble will provide you personal pride without setting off neighborhood car alarms. If you really want to get attention with this monster motor, then just pop the hood and everyone at the car shows will flock to your exceptionally original engine bay. This Buick is truly set up for cruising with power steering, power brakes, and a two-speed automatic that was much smoother than Chevy's. This Buick is powerful, elegant, and highly original former AACA multiple award winner. Where else are you going to find this much vintage American appeal for under $20K? The Korean War had ended. The U.S. economy was back on track. All major automakers had transitioned back from war production and were anxious to get back to full time auto production. 1955 was the year that they would bring out their totally redesigned vehicles. Some of the styles hadn't been totally redone since World War II. In February, 1955 Chrysler released the first mass-produced, high-performance supercar to the motoring public. The brainchild of Chrysler-Imperial Division Chief Engineer Bob Rodger, the C300 was also the first American production automobile to generate 300 hp from a V8 engine. Rodger’s dream, combined with designer Virgil Exner’s visionary creativity, produced a vehicle recognized by many enthusiasts as the first American muscle car. The car's "Forward Look" styling can be attributed to designer Virgil Exner. The front clip, was borrowed from the Imperial of the same year. The midsection was from a New Yorker, with a Windsor rear quarter. Exner wanted to create the image of a sleek performance car. Therefore, he removed many exterior elements such as back-up lights, hood ornament, side trim, and exterior mirrors. Power was provided by MOPAR's top engine, a 331 Cu. In. Hemi V8 with two four barrel carbs, a full-race cam, solid lifters, special manifolds, fat dual exhausts, and 300 HP. The Hemi engine derived its name from its hemispherical combustion chambers. These chambers required a pair of rocker arm shafts on each cylinder head, with the spark plugs fitting between the valves. The Hemi was backed by a special performance Power Flite automatic. Firm, heavy duty suspension was installed, giving the car superior handling compared to those of the competitors. The 300 was offered in only three colors- Black, Tango Red, and Platinum. Completing the package was a luxurious tan leather interior. The true fact is, this car was manufactured for NASCAR and other racing circuits, but marketed as a luxury performance car to the retail market. The 300 was wildly successful on the racing venues. At the retail level, however, there were a few glitches. Some regular Chrysler customers did not fully comprehend the personality of the car. They were expecting the usual soft, floating luxury ride. The aggressive horsepower, performance exhaust, heavy duty suspension, and even a lope from the solid lifter cam at idle on the new 300 took some by surprise. Some even traded their 300’s in for other models. CHRYSLER C300 IN RACING: The success of the 300 in racing is undeniable. In fact, many racing experts have deemed the 1955-1956 Chrysler 300’s as the most dominant car model in racing history. Remember, in that era, stock car racing was exactly that. These cars were factory stock models with some safety components added, and only slight modifications allowed. Brewster Shaw, owner of San Juan Motors, the Daytona Beach Chrysler dealership, was a fixture at the Daytona Speed Week events. Shaw took delivery of the Platinum colored 1001, as well as other C300’s, before Speed Week started. When delivered, no one paid much attention to the VIN number, and few realized it was the first C300. Shaw himself piloted his cars in various speed week events, but not in the Grand National (As the series was called at the time) race. Shaw held the existing record for the two way Flying Mile, set in 1954, at 117.065 MPH. The day of the Flying Mile event was filled with excitement and anticipation. Mercury Outboard magnate Carl Kiekhaefer had entered number 1002, the second C300 off the assembly line, driven by Eastern Airlines pilot Warren Koechling. Shaw made his run, and set a new record at a blistering 126.542 MPH average. This shattered his own record for the previous year by nearly 9.5 MPH. Chrysler 300 number 1001 had shocked the spectators. The record was not to stand, however, as Koechling’s run edged out Shaw by 1.038 MPH at 127.580 MPH. Car 1002 and 1001 finish first and second in the event. Chrysler dominated the Speed Week events, and finished first and second in the 160 mile Grand National beach race. DOMINANCE OF THE CHRYSLER 300: The 1955 300 was virtually unbeatable in competition that year, winning its first NASCAR Grand National race. It took the checkered flag at 37 NASCAR and AAA ( Later known as USAC) races of more than 100 miles. Much of this credit also goes to Carl Kiekhaefer, the Mercury Outboard magnate. Kiekhaefer appeared virtually overnight with a powerful Chrysler 300. He brought the car to Daytona without a driver, but quickly approached Tim Flock. A deal was struck, and Flock won the 1955 Daytona race in his first start with Kiekhaefer. During the 1955 NASCAR championship season, Flock won 18 races and Kiekhaefer Chryslers won 22 of the 39. Kiekhaefer assembled what is commonly recognized as the most successful race team ever, including Tim and Fonty Flock, Frank Mundy, and Buck Baker. Their record is unparalleled. In 1955, Tim Flock won the NASCAR Grand National Championship, Frank Mundy won the AAA championship, and in 1956 Kiekhaefer Chryslers also won the NASCAR Championship and AAA Championship. In 1955 and 1956, Kiekhaefer Chryslers won 51 of 101 races entered, and 11 more with Dodges. After the 1956 season, Kiekhaefer abruptly disbanded his race team. Tim Flock’s departure and disagreements with other team owners were noted as contributing factors. The original C300 was a performance icon of its era, showcasing the abilities of the early Hemi engines on the hard-packed sands of Daytona Beach. Production ended June 24, 1955 with serial number 3N552725. CLICK ON THIS LINK FOR A FILE OF ADDITIONAL PHOTOS: http://s514.photobucket.com/user/redeuce/library/1955%20PHOTOS%204 After Chrysler 1001 had completed the Daytona events, it was made available for sale. James Gilley, of Welch, WV., traveled to Daytona to purchase the car from San Juan Motors. Mr. Gilley kept the car until February, 1969, when it was sold to F.E. Hearne, of West Virginia. In the early ’70’s Steve McCloud bought the vehicle. Since then, it has never been offered for sale, and the car is now in the possession of McCloud’s immediate family. Mr. McCloud at the time was an active member of the Chrysler 300 Club, although in later years he ended his membership. Mr. McCloud drove the Chrysler, attended many Chrysler events, and displayed the vehicle at many shows. Some time around 1984, he parked the car in a barn, and that is the last time 1001 was in the public view. As stated, the car needs total restoration. Blocks were placed under the frame, so the bottom of the car hasn't been buried in mud for years, rotting away. It has been elevated, dry, with air circulating underneath. The frame is solid. There is long term oxidation from storage that could easily be bead blasted off. The trunk floor needs replacement. Front driver’s pan could use one patch. All components are on the car, it has not been cannibalized. The body is basically solid and in good shape. The bottoms of the front fenders and bottoms of rear quarter panels need some work. Passenger rocker needs replacement. Driver’s can be repaired. The interior is in good shape for the age and circumstances. Everything is there. Dash, speedo, controls, etc. in good shape. Glass is all good. Pot metal trim is solid and good shape. Needs buffing or polishing. A 1955 Chrysler New Yorker 331 Hemi was in the car when Steve bought it, still in the car. Has been switched over to dual quads and upgraded to 300HP specs. Serial # NE55-11684. There is also a 1955 Chrysler 300, 331 Hemi, 300 HP, that goes with it. 3NE55 code, but can’t make out the serial number yet. Condition of spare engine unknown. Powerflite automatic. LEE PETTY: Any discussion of Brewster Shaw and San Juan Motors must include a short paragraph on Lee Petty. In 1954, Petty not only won the Daytona Grand National race in a San Juan Motors sponsored Chrysler, but also the 1954 Grand National Championship. This was Chrysler’s first championship, breaking the hold of Oldsmobile and Hudson. In 1955, Petty again competed in the race behind the wheel of a San Juan Motors sponsored Chrysler 300. He finished second, behind Tim Flock in a Kiekhaefer sponsored Chrysler 300. Petty finished third in the NASCAR standings that year. It is unclear whether the Chrysler Petty drove at the Daytona race was actually number 1001, another car from San Juan Motors, or a Petty built car. What is known, however, is that 1001 is indelibly etched in the record books for the other Speed Week events. CLICK ON THIS LINK FOR A FILE OF ADDITIONAL PHOTOS INCLUDING MANY JUST HOURS AFTER THE CAR WAS REMOVED FROM THE BARN: http://s514.photobucket.com/user/redeuce/library/1955%20PHOTOS%202 After Chrysler 1001 had completed the Daytona events, it was made available for sale. However, Mr. McCloud was an experienced collector. He knew how to store cars. Please visit the ad regularly. We will post updates as we receive them. We sold this car in 1999, we found it, researched it, documented it, restored it. Recently in the collection of internationally known collector Ron Pratte. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archive/Event/Item/1970-CHEVROLET-CHEVELLE-SS-396-CONVERTIBLE-178646 Another example, we brokered the only 1968 Camaro Z-28 Convertible in July 1993 for 165K, it sold in 2002 for over 7 figures. These are just a couple of examples of the thousands of cars we have sold, and many were super investments. We know the rare muscle car market like no one on the planet. 1957 Ford fairlane skyliner 2-Door Sedan Exterior Color: Black Interior Color: Black Stock Number: 1411A Mileage: 5,620 Engine: 292 Fuel: Gasoline Transmission: Automatic Warranty: As Is - No Warranty Title: Clear VIN: C7UW174223 Vehicle Features & Options Vehicle Description 1957 Ford Fairlane Skyliner When you look at the 1957 Skyliner it is hard to believe this car is a 58 year old design. These cars were SO far ahead of their time! These 57’s Fairlanes actually out sold the 57 Chevy! This is a nice solid example of a highway king, with matching numbers. It was an engineering wonder in its day and people STILL stop and stare as they watch the top retract. Ford built these cars for 3 years and they are rarely seen anymore at all. Yet alone to mention in this good of condition! The exterior has minor patina but is beautiful at the same time! It shows very well with bright bumpers and all the trim is true as well. The original condition of this car is outstanding. It does have a new paint job that was laid down well. We are unsure of when it was repainted but it looks really good. The detail of chrome and aluminum trim pops out next to the black paint and looks amazing. The detailed taillights look super cool and the headlights are clear with no signs of leaks. The 292 starts up first turn every time and sounds great. It drives and shifts like a dream. The automatic transmission is nice and smooth with no jerks or hiccups! The radiator has been replaced with an aluminum unit and looks great in the engine bay. The interior is astonishing with 5620 original miles it really shows how well it was taken care of! There is something about a big body car and a big steering wheel that work so well together. The carpet looks brand new and really the only thing that looks to have some wear is the driver side passenger panel. The seats are still plush with no sign of sagging. Gauges are clear and look great. This car is ready to drive! I personally took it for a spin and fell in love! It is unlike anything I have ever laid my eyes upon. With all the classics driving around these days how often do you see a SKYLINER? There were 20 some thousand made in 57 and I have no idea how many are around but this is the first I have seen in the Midwest. This car has the potential to be the stand out of any car show the way it screams for attention. Just pull up and drop the hard top and watch the crowd flock! We have a showroom full of custom classics with high horsepower numbers but I think this is by far one of the coolest cars sitting in here. With gorgeous two tone paint, beautiful red cloth interior, t-tops, and its original V8 under the hood, it's a great entry-level 'Vette that will get you into all the big events, win or place, and put a smile on your face every time you crack the throttle. 1978 was the first year of the C3 fastback styling, and combined with the two-tone paint, the results are a homerun. This commemorative coupe is less known than the gray/black pace cars, but the two shades of silver separated by a pinstripe has a monochrome level of cool that still turns heads today. In fact, you're looking at a recent respray of the factory colors, which ensures that both silver hues look fresh in the sunlight. While chrome was at a minimum in these years, there are two nice pieces of brightwork that outshines both sliver paint jobs. The wheels are done in the same look-at-me polish of the pace car, but real enthusiasts flock to see the shiny the 25th anniversary badge on the hood. Red cloth helps with some aggressive attitude inside. All the upholstery seems to be in amazingly original condition, which is especially nice to see because it is often changed on many of today's silver anniversary Corvettes. The rarity might make it desirable, but there's also a functional side, too. After all, if you park your Corvette for an hour in the sunlight with the top open, you'll feel much better sitting in a cloth bucket seat than the leather ones. Regardless, once you start up the car you can control your own climate with the air conditioning. A/C is just one of a long list of desirable factory features that also includes, power windows, power locks, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and cruise control. There's an aftermarket AM/FM/cassette stereo installed, but you'll also get the original unit to swap back in if desired. This is a car that was meant to be driven, so the leather-wrapped steering wheel feels great in your hands, and the shifter for the 3-speed automatic transmission falls easily to hand just inches away. The original, matching-numbers 350 cubic inch V8 still lives under the hood. It has been dressed up with a dash of extra chrome, and the valve covers have been given a coat of handsome blue paint. Overall, the cleanliness of this engine bay is proof of how much care has been taken over the last three decades with this celebratory Corvette (we've got the original owner's manual and plenty of maintenance receipts to back up this level of care too). In fact, the 25th Anniversary cars were seen as one of the first true collector Corvettes out of the factory, and often these were not maintained just simply because they were locked away without seeing any use. Thankfully, this one shows all the hints of enough driving to keep this coupe healthy without becoming a high-mileage car. We suggest practice at least the same level of maintenance through road use, just like every classic car. Besides, this 'Vette has all the right road trip features with its smooth V8, three-speed automatic transmission, power steering and four-wheel power disc brakes. This 1978 Corvette is an investment that begs to be driven. It doesn't get much better than that. Up for sale is my wife's Jaguar XKR Silverstone. She just doesn't drive it much anymore and told me to sell it as she wants another Chevy Volt. The car shows average wear for the miles. This car runs and drives great. She always changes the oil very 3,000 miles and takes it in for check ups. Buyer will send a $1,000 deposit by paypal and make arrangements for cash on pick up. Report states that there is frame damage and there is none as I have had that checked by the Jaguar dealer before we purchased the car. This is a wonderful car! Here's a review of the silverstone. Thanks! Exclusivity, performance, style, and craftsmanship are all Jaguar hallmarks. Happily, each is unquestionably intact in the '01 XKR Silverstone. It represents the next step beyond the "standard-issue," 370-hp XKR, adopting the XK 180 showcar's suspension, wheel, and brake components to raise the XKR's already outstanding abilities to an even higher level. It's breathtaking to look at and represents the most impressive, agile, and (ties for the) quickest production Jaguar we've ever driven. A combined total of only 250 coupes and convertibles are headed our way-each commanding a lofty $96,905 base price and unusual in that, most times, ragtops cost more. By the time you read this, a full 90 percent of the entire U.S. allotment will be presold-thus the term "exclusive" takes on new meaning. Discounting past gray market, streetable race cars like the XJ220 and XJR-15, the Silverstone is the most expensive, most exclusive production Jaguar ever sold in the United States. And this is the way Jaguar wants it. Simply consider its world-class acceleration: 0-60 mph in 5.0 sec and the quarter mile in 13.5 sec at over 106 mph. These are numbers we gathered from the identically powered 2000-model XKR we tested in our May 2000 issue-ripping, indeed. But that's where the similarities end between last year's XKR and this year's Silverstone. Read more: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/112_0102_2001_jaguar_xkr_silverstone/#ixzz3RTnB0n1l The XKR is powered by a supercharged engine, and for 2001, a new model joins the flock: a Silverstone limited-edition of each body style, which is basically an XKR with some unique styling touches, Platinum Silver paint, 20-inch tires and bigger Brembo brakes. Silverstone coupes also feature a performance/handling package. Only 250 XKR Silverstone models have been earmarked for delivery in North America. Named for the racecourse where the Jaguar XK-120 earned its first victories in 1949, the XKR Silverstone celebrates Jaguar’s entry into Formula One race competition. The seats have been modified a bit. XK models have earned several styling revisions, including new jewel-effect taillights, a chrome trunk-lid emblem with embossed Jaguar lettering and an extended rear bumper cover. A revised front bumper permits a flusher fit for the fog lamps, and a new Reverse Park Control emits a warning when you approach an obstacle while backing up. Jaguar also introduced a new Adaptive Restraint Technology System for all models, including head and thorax side-impact airbags mounted in the front-seat backrest cushions. Ultrasonic sensors provide more accurate triggering of both the front and side-impact airbags that protect front occupants.Like their XKR counterparts, XK8 coupes and convertibles now have headlight washers, heated front seats and a premium Alpine Audiophile audio system with six-CD changer. Jaguar’s navigation system is now standard in the XKR but an optional for the XK8.Jaguar launched the current XK8 sports car generation for 1997 with V-8 power. Previous XJ-S Jaguars had six-cylinder or V-12 engines. Ford has owned the famed British automaker for years, but the styling, platforms and engines are designed and manufactured strictly by Jaguar, which is headquartered in Coventry, England. A considerable amount of handwork still goes into their assembly, and Jaguars compete against such costly European marques as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.ExteriorSleek and alluring, the projectile-shaped XK body is comparatively tame in the XK8 trim, though its basic appearance harks back to the stylish Jaguar XK-E sports cars of the 1960s. The XKR models add a functional louvered hood, rear spoiler, and 18-inch wheels and tires instead of the usual 17-inchers. They also have Jaguar’s Computer Active Technology Suspension, which features computer-controlled shock absorbers.XKR models sport a wire mesh grille instead of the usual bar design. Silverstone models go a step further with BBS Detroit-style 20-inch alloy wheels and a unique Platinum Silver finish, Silverstone hood badge and Silverstone inscription on the door-opening tread plates. Convertibles have a power soft-top and a glass rear window with a defogger.InteriorAllegedly capable of holding four occupants, these Jaguars are built basically for two passengers. Backseat riders need to be the size of a child or have legs no bigger than twigs in order to fit comfortably. The fortunate two up front can expect to employ a certain level of dexterity to climb in and out of the low-slung XK8, and space is at a premium once they’re seated. Once inside, passengers get to enjoy the lush Connolly leather and abundant wood trim that decorate the Jag’s cockpit.Under the HoodIn the regular XK8 coupes and convertibles, Jaguar’s 4.0-liter dual overhead cam V-8 engine produces 290 horsepower. Stepping up to the XKR or Silverstone brings a supercharged edition of that engine, rated at 370 hp. A five-speed-automatic transmission is used on all models, but they’re different units: built by the German firm ZF for the XK8 or by Mercedes-Benz for the XKR. Computer Active Technology suspension adjusts ride firmness according to changes in the vehicle’s speed and road conditions and comes standard on the XKR and XKR Silverstone. Jaguar claims that a Silverstone coupe can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds.SafetyDual front airbags, traction control and all-disc antilock brakes are standard. Side-impact airbags now are mounted in the seatbacks rather than the doors as part of the new Adaptive Restraint Technology System.Driving ImpressionsHeritage counts. Even if performance lags behind some competitive sports cars, driving a Jag is a special sort of experience. Simply knowing that you’re cocooned in such a lusciously shaped vehicle adds to the satisfaction. An appealing assortment of luxuries and conveniences make up for a few drawbacks, including high sticker prices.Whether supercharged or regular, Jaguar’s modern V-8 engines deliver a high level of refinement — and gentility — along with impressive acceleration, even if they’re not the fastest cars of their kind. Those who crave a greater degree of raw speed can step up to a supercharged XKR or the limited-edition Silverstone.Handling has always been a Jaguar strong point, even if it’s still a bit more in the “boulevard” sports car category rather than ready for the racetrack. Drive an XK on a track, however, and you’re likely to be impressed with its talents through curves and dips at high speeds. Although the ride can get a bit jittery on rough pavement, the suspension is beautifully absorbent on most highway surfaces. Though it looks snug at first glance, the XK8 convertible offers a reasonable amount of room for front-seat occupants, but the rear is tiny even for children.

We can't seem to keep this vintage Mustang in our showroom, and this is one rare pony! The Mach 1 was the perfect canvas to showcase Ford's refreshed Mustang for 1969. The body was stretched to have a meaner street presence, and this new premium package was not shy about its prowess. The Mach 1s looked ready for the track with standard hood pins and flat black hood paint to reduce glare for the driver. This one is optioned with the desirable (and functional) shaker hood. Mach 1 coupes were automatically given the striking SportsRoof fastback body and chrome wheel package, but runners like this were then upgraded with the sporty rear window louvers as well as front and rear spoilers. The Moss Green paint is a throwback to a shade available in earlier years, making this Mach 1 even more unique. Plus, the gold undertones have a striking way of matching with the yellow sports stripe. It's not just us suggesting its attractiveness. This is a show car, and you even get the trophies to prove it! The Mach 1 was the most expensive Mustang model aside from the Shelby line, so Ford made sure that buyers got their money's worth, especially in the interior. These cars came standard with features such as a three-spoke RimBlow deluxe steering wheel, electric clock, and high-backed bucket seats all of which are intact on this coupe. The Mustang's famously long options list meant the first owner loaded this car even further by ticking the box for items such as power steering, power brakes, and AM/FM radio (currently not in the car but comes with the purchase.) If everything appears a little fresher than other Mustangs you've looked at recently, it's likely due to a restoration performed in the last eight years (you can judge for yourself with the included receipts.) This is particularly apparent on the acres of wood onlay, which when in pristine condition like this, feels like sitting in a comfy time machine. The red flooring and matching accents in the seats are correct for this car and add a subtle reminder that this pony car is secretly a beast. This is an R-code Mustang, which means the big block 428 cubic inch V8 with ram air is under this hood. Engines from this era were famously underrated, so the impressive 335 hp rating from the factory was really pushing a mind-blowing 400+ hp. It is mated to a stout Ford C6 three-speed automatic transmission, and it is sent to the road via Ford's Traction-Lok limited slip differential running a 3.25 ratio. The combination of the Mach 1 package and this big engine further sweetened the deal by automatically getting upgraded to Ford's HD competition suspension. This beefed up the front spindles, shocks, shock towers, and anti-roll bar to make sure that this Mustang could handle the extra muscle. Ford even upgraded this package with the sport exhaust with quad tips (everything can be verified in the detailed Marti report included with the car.) The cherry on top of this coupe is that all this power can be kept in check thanks to the optional front disc brakes. There is a lot of 'Wow' factor in this documented Mustang. For you it will be about pouring through the original owner's manual and restoration receipts. Everyone else will flock to everything from the paint to the massive motor. This is the kind of pony car that turns a crowd into a stampede to see a thoroughbred. This Ebay offering is for a very special car, especially for the Mopar enthusiasts. This is the one of one 1970 Chrysler 300H Hurst convertible, affectionately known as the “Parade Float”, that appeared at race tracks and made appearances across the country. The promotional vehicle featured a towering Hurst shifter and a platform for iconic Miss Hurst, Linda Vaughn, to stand on. After the Chrysler was removed from service, it was purchased by an elderly man in Jacksonville, Florida. It was then purchased in 1976 from the Florida man’s estate by avid Chrysler collector Steve McCloud in Tennessee. This is the same Steve McCloud that owned 1955 Chrysler C300, VIN number 3N551001, the first Chrysler 300 scheduled for production, and several other rare Chryslers. Mr. McCloud, and the convertible, were nationally known in Chrysler circles, race tracks, parades, magazines, and in the Chrysler 300 club. Several articles were written on Mr. McCloud and the car. He displayed the car, and even made a few nostalgia appearances with Miss Vaughn, including a reunion at Bristol Motor Speedway in 1993, as photos will show. The car was then put in storage. This Chrysler is still in the possession of the collector’s immediate family. First time available for sale. The location of this car has been a question for years. The question has now been answered. It is still owned by Steve McCloud’s immediate family. This is the first and only opportunity to purchase the one of one 1970 300 Hurst convertible. CLICK ON THIS LINK FOR PERIOD HISTORICAL PHOTOS. THE TWO OLDER PHOTOS ARE AT RIVERSIDE, 1970, AND BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY, 1970. THE THIRD IS A REUNION APPEARANCE AT BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY IN 1993. IN THE PHOTO, OWNER STEVE MCCLOUD IS DRIVING THE CAR, WITH LINDA VAUGHN ON THE BACK: http://s514.photobucket.com/user/redeuce/library/HURST%20TRACKS This is not a clone or a tribute. According the official Chrysler Registry “Production Option Code Books”, two 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst convertibles with VIN number beginning with CM27U0C were SCHEDULED for production. All other Chrysler sources state that one Hurst convertible was MANUFACTURED. Anecdotes from the past have suggested a “second car.” A rumor had floated around for years that another 300 Hurst Convertible was built, but totaled by a train in a joy ride by a Chrysler executive. There is no available documentation to support this theory, therefore unproven. There was also one other “special built” Chrysler Convertible. However, this car had a black interior, was born a T code 350 HP engine, and received a dealer transplanted Hemi engine, so it was not a true 300 Hurst Convertible. In fact, Mr. McCloud also owned this car for a short period of time. However, he soon sold it, as his collection featured only rare, “factory built” Chryslers. Therefore, the Chrysler offered in this ad, is the lone 1970 Chrysler 300H Convertible built to participate in the promotional tours, and is the only “Parade Float” that has ever been in existence. 91,119 original miles on the odometer. Essentially is original, stock configuration with the exception of maintenance and repair items. MCCLOUD MADE AN APPEARANCE WITH THE HURST AT THE 1989 MOPAR NATIONALS, HELD AT NATIONAL TRAIL RACEWAY IN OHIO: http://s514.photobucket.com/user/redeuce/media/HURST%20MOPAR%20NATS%20MAG/1970S.jpg.html CLICK ON THIS LINK FOR A PHOTO OF LINDA VAUGHN AND ANOTHER HURSTETTE WITH THE CONVERTIBLE: http://s514.photobucket.com/user/redeuce/media/HURSTETTES/1970O.jpg.html During the golden era of muscle cars, most of the models fit a certain criteria. Most were intermediates in size, and some would even be considered compacts. However, the most unique were the full size variety. The Impala, Grand Prix, Catalina, Galaxie, Torino, Toronado, Roadrunner, Coronet and others broke the muscle car mold and provided big power with a big body to satisfy a buying public that desired speed, but also space. Chrysler can be credited with pioneering this idea with the Chrysler 300. It is recognized by many as the first muscle car, offering the first 300 HP engine as early as 1955. The Chrysler 300 letter series cars were high performance luxury cars that were manufactured between 1955 and 1965. Chrysler shocked the automotive public and also it’s competitors with the 300 horsepower C300 in 1955. This high powered monster featured heavy duty suspension, free flow dual exhaust, and the dual quad Hemi engine with a solid lifter cam that actually produced a lope at idle. NASCAR and AAA (USAC) are the venues that really launched this car into the spotlight. It began at Daytona. Brewster Shaw, owner of San Juan Motors Chrysler dealership in Daytona, and Warren Koechling, driving for the Carl Kiekhaeffer team, demolished all records in the multiple speed events of the Daytona Speed Week, before the actual race. Shaw piloted his own Chrysler 300, VIN number 1001, and Koechling wheeled VIN number 1002. These were the first two Chrysler 300’s manufactured. In the Daytona NASCAR race, Tim Flock and Lee Petty finished one and two in 300”s. Chrysler 300 teams won both the NASCAR championship and the AAA championship in 1955. Chrysler 300’s repeated this feat in 1956. For 10 years, the Letter Series 300’s were the dominant high performance big vehicles. However, with the changing times of the early '60s, the full-size super car era came to an end. The 1965 300L was the final year of the traditional letter series. Luckily for Chrysler fans, in 1969, Jim Wangers was working as an executive VP for Hurst Performance Research, Inc., in Royal Oak, Michigan, He was thinking about those potential car buyers who would appreciate an automobile that reflected their desire for something upscale, powerful, and attention-arresting. After careful consideration, Jim felt Chrysler would be receptive to reviving its full-size super car tradition. He was right, and the foundation was laid for the Chrysler-Hurst joint venture, which ultimately resulted in the 1970 300 Hurst, or 300H. The 300H was based on the 1970 Chrysler 300 Series 2-door hardtop. It was a natural for the Hurst treatment due to its fuselage styling, featuring a rounded body with sculptured crease lines. All were assembled at the Jefferson Ave. plant in Detroit, MI. They were shipped to the Hurst facility in Brighton, MI. Once finished, the Hurst 300s were shipped back to Jefferson Assembly for final inspection, and then sent to the ordering dealerships (most 300Hs were customer-ordered, some were designed for dealer stock, and a few were built for the sales bank). The standard package was the same on all the cars. However, extra options could be ordered. Production numbers vary according to several sources, but all agree that between 485 and 500 were built. Then there was one more. The convertible. Hurst and Chrysler decided to manufacture one Special Public Relations Vehicle, a convertible, custom designed for appearances across the country to promote the Chrysler and Hurst brands. While the hardtops were essentially built in groups on the assembly line, the convertible was a purpose built vehicle. Therefore, there are both similarities and differences between the two. Either power button, or under dash lever activated trunk release, or both. Due to the rear spoiler, a key lock could not be accessed. All also had dual power seats, power windows, Spinnaker White, and front disc brakes. Differences-The hardtops were pulled off the assembly line in small groups for shipment to Hurst. Although they were manufactured over a period of months, all were assigned a 125, or January 25, build date. The convertible, however, was assigned the actual build date- 505, May 5. All the hardtops featured M6T5 tan leather interior. A M6XW, white vinyl with black accents, was installed in the convertible. The hardtops were designated with a standard vehicle order number. The convertible was assigned the Q prefixed (Special Public Relations) vehicle order number. This is the only one with that prefix. Finally, the A12 fiberglass hood designation. Although all Hurst cars received the fiberglass hood, not all display the A12 on the fender tag, depending on early or later production. However, according to Chrysler Registry “Production Option Code Books”, it is correct that the convertible does not have the A12 on the fender tag. The convertible has been in storage for a period of time. The car is in good condition. A complete cleaning and detail will bring this beauty back to life. Spinnaker white exterior finish with all the Hurst graphics and decals, including the large Hurst quarter panel decals. Original white convertible top. Fiberglass scooped hood and trunk lid with spoiler. Original Magnum road wheels. Hood and fender turn signals. Original white, dual power bucket seat interior with center folding armrest. Everything in the interior is basically original. Power windows and locks. Search Tune AM/FM radio. Original Hurst shifter with original shift knob. Air conditioning. Both button in glove box and under dash lever for trunk release. Power steering. Power disc brakes. Tilt/telescopic steering column. Tinted glass. Rear stereo speakers. Original 440 Cu. In., 375 HP TNT engine. Engine and engine bay is stock and original, with the exception of maintenance and repair items. Heavy duty cooling system. Four barrel carburetor. Torque Flite automatic transmission. This may be the only time this car will be available for sale again.
