Deposit Successful high bidders of an online auction/listing will submit a $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 2 calendar days (48 hours) of the close of the auction/"buy now" to secure the vehicle. This may be paid via PayPal or credit-card. US Dollars only. Payment of Balance Due The buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due including applicable fees and taxes within 5 days of the close of online auction/ad unless otherwise agreed to by seller. Payment Methods Preferred method of payment is certified bank check, bank wire transfers or third-party financing. All funds must be in US Dollars only. Cash is acceptable with pre-notification so that large transactions can occur during banking hours. Please be aware that any cash amounts over $10,000.00 will include the completion of IRS form 8300. It is a simple form for reporting purposes only. NOTE: Please be sure to have full payment and/or approved financing in place BEFORE making your final bid. Call for more information. We apologize for any inconvenience but our company policy is that we do not accept credit card as method of payment beyond the $500.00 deposit amount. Financing as Method of Payment When seeking pre-approval for an auto loan please remember that some lenders only work with franchise dealers. Autos of Palm Beach is licensed as an Independent Dealer. Most banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles older than 7 years or with more than 100,000 miles. Make sure, then, if financing, that your financial institution accepts the year and miles of the vehicle before bidding. Again, please arrange financing before bidding. If you win an eBay auction or select the "buy now" option, you herein agree to subject yourselves to these terms and, therefore, if you cannot arrange financing your deposit will be held by Autos of Palm Beach to help cover costs involved in the auction/ad. (Under some circumstances, with prior agreement, the deposit may be applied towards a future purchase of a vehicle from Autos of Palm Beach.) General Terms We reserve the right to cancel all bids and end an auction early at any time should the vehicle no longer be available for sale. Winning bidder must contact us within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements for payment and delivery at that time. Terms of Deposit and Payment of Balance Due outlined herein apply. If we have not received contact within 24 hours of auction end we reserve the right to further advertise the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise. This vehicle is also being offered for sale outside of eBay and should a sale agreement be made we reserve the right to withdraw or end the auction in accord with eBay rules and regulations. For example, No Reserve auctions may not be ended during the last 12 hours except to end it during that time and sell to the high bidder. Inspections A third-party inspection is highly recommended to avoid any misunderstandings. We have made an earnest effort to accurately and fairly describe this vehicle to you. We aim to only carry quality pre-owned vehicles, however, please know that any and all pre-owned vehicles will have typical scratches, nicks, or dings inherent for its year, and mechanical parts are subject to fail. Some vehicles have required paintwork (i.e. bumpers, mirrors, etc) to improve quality. All such work that we may have done is by professionals and of high quality. If you would like to arrange an inspection, please contact us BEFORE auction end or BEFORE a purchase commitment and we will do our best to coordinate with you to make the vehicle available for your arranged inspection. Buyer/bidder is responsible for payment of the inspection. If upon personal and/or authorized professional inspection of the purchased vehicle at our facility, buyer finds a substantial discrepancy between the published report and actual vehicle, we will correct the problem at no charge, work out a compromise, or refund all monies paid. Buyer will not be responsible for any eBay related fees and will be dismissed from any contractual obligation with eBay to purchase the vehicle. This is if the inspection proves vastly different from published ad. Returns are allowed in the event the vehicle is shipped and you are dissatisfied. However, a 10% (of purchase price) restocking fee applies. The return must take place within 7 days from receipt and the vehicle must have under 250 miles difference upon return. Return shipping fees are the obligation of the buyer. Shipping Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. We are happy to assist in arranging shipping as a value added service only. Call Jeff at 561-207-7198 for a current quote/estimate from our location to yours. We assume no responsibility for damages incurred after the shipper has signed for the vehicle. We are NOT the shipping company. Shipping companies are independent of our dealership. We subscribe to a central service which allows us to make your shipment available for several thousand shippers. If the route matches theirs, they call us and request the load. We check their feedback as recorded on the central service and verify their cargo insurance as well as make inquiry as to their estimated pickup & delivery time. Delays happen and are often uncontrollable and some shippers prove to be more communicative than others. For the most part, though, it is a relatively smooth process and we will do our best to walk you thru the process. If you choose to arrange your own shipping, note that for sales tax purposes we require a copy of the Bill of Lading when the vehicle is picked up and a copy of the signed delivery receipt when you have received the vehicle out of Florida. Please, we prefer that you do not select DAS as your service provider as we have not had positive experiences with that company. Accessories Vehicles offered for sale by Autos of Palm Beach are pre-owned. When these units are purchased from the dealer-only auctions as trade-ins or lease turn-ins they may not have some "accessories" which you may feel should be included. Such items include things like books/manuals, extra keys, remotes, headphones (for entertainment packages), tools, cargo nets, floor mats, CD cartridges, wheel lock keys, etc. Items as these (or others you may think of) are not automatically included or provided by us. In our written descriptions, we do our best to list things accurately. HOWEVER, we do make mistakes and may overlook an item listed as included which did not come with the car. In such a case, please refer to the photos of the vehicle to see if you can see the items listed. For example, we usually take a photo showing any books and keys or remotes that come with the vehicle. If you don’t see a photo of it, please ask us to check to see if it is included with the vehicle. Please do not assume anything and know that we don’t mind you asking us to double-check some things. Disclaimer We make every effort to present information that is accurate. However, it is based on data provided by the vehicle VIN decoding and/or other sources including but not limited to car history data reports and therefore exact configuration, color, specifications, accessories should be used as a guide only and are not guaranteed. Under no circumstances will we be liable for any inaccuracies, claims or losses of any nature. Furthermore, inventory is subject to prior sale and prices are subject to change without notice. Prices do not include taxes, title and registration fees, finance and/or documentation charges, and shipping fees when applicable. To ensure your complete satisfaction, please verify accuracy prior to purchase. Fees and Taxes Autos of Palm Beach charges a Dealer Prep Fee in the amount of $295.00 on all vehicle purchase transactions. It must be stated that ‘This charge represents costs and profit to the dealer for items such as inspecting, cleaning and adjusting vehicles, and preparing documents related to the sale.’ Florida law statutes mandate that any such fee must be disclosed and included in the final sale price without discrimination. With online auctions the final sale price is not known in advance, so please note that the amount of $295.00 will be added to the closing or agreed amount of purchase so that the final price will include the fee and such will be reflected on the Bill of Sale, also called a Purchase Agreement or Buyer’s Order. A BIN (Buy-It-Now) price on eBay does include the $295.00 charge. Autos of Palm Beach is licensed in the State of Florida and is responsible for collecting applicable sales taxes related to vehicle sales. Please note: Sales Tax for Florida Residents: 6% for the state plus any applicable county discretionary tax. Out-of-state (non-Florida resident) shipping your vehicle to your state: We retain a Bill of Lading as evidence of your shipping and do NOT collect sales tax. You are responsible for paying your taxes, title and registration fees when you register the vehicle in your home state. Out-of-state (non-Florida resident) taking delivery in Florida: If you take delivery of your vehicle here in Florida and we issue you a temporary tag, and your state has a Reciprocal Agreement with Florida, then we must collect your state’s applicable Sales Tax up to a maximum of the Florida rate of 6%. Any taxes over that amount you will pay when you register the vehicle in your state. If your rate is less than 6% then the lower rate will be collected. You will not be double-taxed. We will provide you a notarized document as to the amounts collected which you may present to your motor vehicle department as evidence of sales tax already paid. Any balance of tax due and related title and registration fees are the buyer’s responsibility. There are a couple of states which currently do not allow credit " AR and MS. To avoid paying tax to FL and AR or MS we should make the delivery to you out-of-state by a transporter. We must retain the shipping Bill of Lading as evidence of the out-of-state delivery. Exporting: If you are purchasing a vehicle which will be exported overseas we can only release the vehicle to you via a transporter / shipper as the vehicle may not be operated on Florida roads with a temporary tag unless sales tax has been collected. We request a copy of the export bill of lading or dock receipt for our records and state audit purposes so that we are not held responsible for taxes. Warranty Vehicles sold from our dealership are being sold “AS-IS”. No representations or warranties are made by seller. A Manufacturer Warranty for the vehicle may still apply. Car history reports sometimes convey beginning or ending periods of manufacturer warranties. The best way to confirm this information is to call a manufacturer’s franchise dealer (ask for the service department) and inquire as to the warranty details. You will need to provide them with the VIN when you call. An extended warranty may be available for the vehicle. Please contact us for details. Jurisdiction The jurisdiction of this transaction is Palm Beach County, Florida. By bidding on or making an agreement to purchase this vehicle you will have entered into a legal and binding contract. You agree not to leave negative feedback until we have been given opportunity to correct any issue that may be brought up with this transaction. If you have any questions about these terms please contact us. Notice to Bidders on eBay We reserve the right to cancel all bids and end an auction early should the vehicle no longer be available for sale. Zero Feedback Bidders Due to a high ratio of zero feedback bidders that prove to be non-paying bidders we request that any new bidders with zero feedback contact us via phone or email prior to bidding. If a zero feedback bidder wins the auction and we cannot contact them or he/she does not contact us within one hour after the auction closes we will assume he/she is a non-paying bidder. We then reserve the right to make a second-chance offer to the next bidder down or sell the vehicle otherwise. Non-Paying Bidder If the deposit is not received within 48hours via Paypal (or 2 business days sent via courier and you have told us it is coming this way) of the close of auction or if the balance is not paid in full within 5 days following the close of auction, we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle or sell it to another qualified buyer. THANK YOU! We thank you for considering this purchase from Autos of Palm Beach. We all recognize the value of a conversation to clear up any misunderstandings and address any concerns or interests with your investment of a new vehicle. Please feel free to give a call to the person listed in the ad and they will do their best to make it as simple a process as possible for you. Happy Bidding! And while the brand was originally envisioned as a stepping stone to the corporation's namesake luxury marque, it also spawned performance and economy models to fend off internal competition from Dodge and Plymouth. That means the '50s power monsters MoPar enthusiasts know and love often have more exclusive counterparts like this stylish Fireflite Sportsman. Wrapping a hot 341 cubic inch Hemi V8 and stalwart pushbutton Torqueflite in a tailored interior and sweeping sheetmetal, this all-American cruiser HAS to be some of the coolest metal on the planet! And with only 7,216 companion cars, it's some of the rarest Detroit iron ever produced. For fans of unique cars, it doesn't get much better than an Exner era Chrysler. And if you're a discerning collector who's itching for a classic, big-fin MoPar that'll be the star of every cruise night in town, this '57 DeSoto is your ticket! BODYWORK/TRIM Based on legendary designer Virgil Exner's 'Forward Look' body, DeSoto's well-known Fireflite series is some of the finest metal to ever leave an American design studio. The spectacular Fiesta Red and Frost White example you see here was assembled at Chrysler's Detroit, Michigan manufacturing facility and exceptionally maintained by one fastidious owner for close to 57 years. Its mostly original sheetmetal reflects a smooth, 2-stage finish that was applied in the summer of 2014. Yards of original brightwork and stainless feature no modern supplements, with the exception of fresh chrome on the car's taillight housings and rear bumper. And, as far as we can tell, this coupe has never been fully disassembled, with the aforementioned owner instead opting to address issues of aging as they arose. ENGINE All that classy metal moves thanks to a Hemispherical Fire Dome V8, which is branded with a correct S26-27094 assembly stamp. Clocking in at 341 cubic inches, the square-bore mill turns hearty 9.25 to 1 compression into 295 horsepower and 390 lb./ft. of stout torque. And naturally, given the car's ownership history, the engine appears to wear a roster of correct and original pieces, from its glossy air cleaner and rebuilt Carter carburetor all the way to its beefy radiator and tagged red cap battery. Fire is provided by a traditional points distributor, which sequences sparks between an old school generator and 7mm Copper Conductor Cables. Combustion comes courtesy of a correct camshaft, which breathes through a correct intake and original exhaust manifolds. Aesthetically, the engine's clean Aluminum paint contrasts well against a fresh Fiesta firewall and glossy black fenders. And little details like gold valve covers, vivid "DESOTO FIREFLITE EIGHT" call-outs, stainless fluid lines and a Sparton horn round out this coupe's natural eyeball appeal. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION The 1957 DeSoto was "the car that makes yesterday seem years ago". Accordingly, the division's marketing gurus drowned the print world in ads touting the brand's new Torsion-Aire Suspension. And surprisingly, that statement still holds true today, as this big boulevard king sits on a freshly detailed chassis that veils pothole-shattering solidity in a silky smooth ride. Behind the Fire Dome V8, an original A488 Torqueflite 3-speed sends power to a correct rear end. That tough driveline spins in a factory-spec undercarriage that's complete with Chrysler's robust torsion bars and stiff outrider springs. At the corners of that chassis, heavy duty drum brakes ensure solid, fade-free stops. At the center of the car's rust-free floors, a traditional true-dual exhaust system employs deep, glasspack-style mufflers. And all this road-worthy hardware rides on painted and capped wheels, which spin pliable 8.50-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls. INTERIOR Take a look inside this coupe and you'll find a mostly-original Gray and White interior that sports enough room to haul the whole family in comfort! Wide bench seats prop piped and stitched vinyl under fresh centerpieces. In front of those seats, a Frost White dash hangs a crack-free pad over a correct AM radio and stylish, pushbutton transmission controls. That dash and seat combo is framed by rich carpet, textured door panels, chrome pillar covers and a white headliner that's stretched across polished roof bows. In front of the driver, a 2-tone steering wheel spins a chrome horn ring around an intricate DeSoto logo. And behind the passengers, a large trunk props an original jack and spare tire on an original mat. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATIONA variety of original marketing materials. An original Owner's ManualAn original Service CertificateTwo original key tagsA March, 2014 photo of the car with its only owner This classy DeSoto is a super cool cruiser that's easy to imagine as the focal point of a cross-country road trip. With its burly V8, tailored interior and dramatic styling, it represents the pinnacle of American design and manufacturing dominance. If you're looking for a top-notch classic that'll draw a crowd wherever it goes, your search is officially over! About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. Our cars are sold "as-is" with no warranty expressed or implied. Please carefully read the terms & conditions of the sale before bidding. We do not release our reserve prices, so please don't ask! If you see a car you like, don't wait! Call us! When you see it disappear from eBay, it means that it was sold by other means. For starters, the car must be in tip-top condition. In some instances, determining that is as easy as looking at pictures. But it always helps to have some form of documentation of either a through restoration or serious survivor chops. Speaking of documentation: the more, the better. Ultimately, what we're looking for is anything that can tell the car's story or confirm its exclusivity. The market directly reinforces that exclusivity, as cars of the same quality often sell for close to the same price. Finally, it's always nice to have the hobby's blessing through awards and accolades. By those rules, this fully restored Chevelle, a car the Berger family loaded with 29 additional options, is definitely investment grade. It wraps an original 396/4-speed drivetrain in correct black on red aesthetics that were achieved through a documented rotisserie restoration. Its asking price is right in line with multiple '70 Chevelle convertibles we've already sold. And, since the car spent the last decade winning major awards from AACA, ISCA, MCCN, Chevy Classics and Super Chevy, we're fairly certain it's some of the hobby's most desirable metal! AWARDS Since this Chevelle is one of the most decorated classics we've ever showcased, we'll jump right in to a chronological breakdown of the car's litany of awards and features. 2015:997 out of Super Chevy Chevelle Magazine BODYWORK/TRIM There's no question this highly optioned Chevy benefitted from a world-class restoration. But, given its history, it seems the car was always destined for a touch of greatness. Built in November of 1969 at Leeds Assembly in Kansas City, Kansas, this exclusive drop-top was shipped directly to Berger Chevrolet where it likely became the primary transportation of Vivian Berger, Dale Berger Sr.'s wife. Over the next three decades, the car served four additional owners as a well-preserved survivor. Then, circa 2002, its sixth and most recent owner orchestrated a 3-year, rotisserie restoration that logged roughly 2,400 hours of labor. Laser-straight bodywork, perfected by Piedmont, South Carolina's Chuck Miller's Restorations, wrapped a new hood, new fenders, new quarters and new trunk drops in a correct layer of Tuxedo Black 2-stage. That glossy pigment hangs new stainless and fresh chrome around a nostalgic Berger emblem and clean Super Sport ornamentation. And everything rides under correct Black vinyl that, because of the restorers' obsession with quality, was the third top installed during the car's detailed overhaul. ENGINE Toss this classic's hood and you'll find an original, 396 cubic inch big block that was bored .030 over and fully rebuilt by the professionals at Ewing Automotive Machine in Snellville, Georgia. At the top of the Chevy Orange mill, a chrome, correctly decaled air cleaner forces oxygen in to a correct Quadrajet carburetor that was restored by Kunz Automotive of St. Louis, Missouri. That carb rides on a factory intake, which feeds factory heads that hang over a GM-spec cam and GM-spec valves. At the back of that intake, a traditional points distributor sequences fire through Packard TV R Suppression cables. Below those cables, chrome valve covers reflect correct exhaust manifolds. And at the front of the block, GM hoses channel water past an original alternator and correct Frigidaire AC compressor with the help of a beefy radiator and familiar tower clamps. Everything, from the car's original starter and correct Delco battery all the way to its Harrison firewall components and Delco Moraine brake booster, adds a feeling of authenticity to the painted and decaled engine bay. And, as expected, a correct 3969854 casting number, a correct "CTW" assembly stamp and a matching partial VIN authenticate the powerplant's legendary status. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Naturally, this Chevy's road-ready chassis has been restored to the same high standards as the aforementioned body panels and engine compartment. Behind the stout big block, an original Turbo-Hydramatic 400 hangs a correct "70-CF" assembly tag opposite a matching partial VIN. That tough gearbox, rebuilt by Snellville, Georgia's Neal Racing Transmissions, twists power to a correct 12-bolt axle. Holding that killer drivetrain off the ground is a heavy-duty F41 sports suspension, which centers factory power steering between stiff springs, boxed control arms and sturdy sway bars. The car's rebuilt power front disc and rear drum brake system is present, accounted for and functions exceptionally well. The aforementioned exhaust manifolds dump spent gases in to precise Gardner pipes, which breathe through correct resonators, throaty mufflers and polished stainless tips. Power meets the pavement through stylish Super Sport wheels, which lap F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas tires around stainless trim rings and requisite "SS" center caps. And mostly original, Satin Black floors, fitted with fresh rear wheelhouses during the car's extensive rebuild, serve as the perfect backdrop for a sandblasted and powdercoated frame. INTERIOR Decked in correct Medium Red vinyl, this convertible's fully restored interior feels comfortable and inviting. Its slick Strato bucket front and rear bench seats, which feature factory power adjustment for the car's driver, show virtually no signs of wear. In front of those seats, an original dash hangs a deluxe Chevelle gauge cluster above correct climate controls and a Delco AM/FM radio. Below that dash, fresh carpet centers a traditional horseshoe shifter inside an attractive, stainless-trimmed console. At the sides of that carpet, clean, "SS" branded door panels frame factory power windows and factory power door locks. In front of the driver, an NOS cushion-grip steering wheel laps a tilting column. And behind the passengers, a power-operated trunk centers a stickered spare and correct jack between a fresh mat and correct decklid decals. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1956 Chrysler Windsor Newport National Award Winning Windsor Newport 331 Spitfire HEMI Dual Quad V8 Powerflite Year: 1956 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Beige Mileage: 42226 Transmission type: 2 Speed Automatic Engine: 354 Hemi V8 Interior color: Beige Vehicle Info Virtually every classic car enthusiast knows about Chrysler's letter cars. And while the brand was originally envisioned as an upmarket purveyor of lush Detroit luxury, it also spawned economy models to fend off intense competition from Ford and GM. That means the '50s power monsters MoPar enthusiasts know and love often have more focused counterparts like this stylish Windsor Newport. Wrapping a hot Spitfire V8 and stout PowerFlite transmission in a tailored interior and acres of stylish steel, this all-American cruiser HAS to be some of the coolest metal on the planet! And, with two consecutive years of AACA honors stoking its prestige, it's an exclusive Exner era Chrysler that's poised to gain value. If you're a discerning collector who's itching for a big-fin MoPar that'll be the star of every cruise night in town, this tailored hardtop is your ticket to greatness! Based on legendary designer Virgil Exner's 'Forward Look' body, the 1956 Chrysler Windsor was positioned low to supplement the brand's hot 300 series. The spectacular and correct Sand Dune Beige and Rosewood example you see here currently wears a high quality, frame-up restoration that has been exceptionally maintained. Owned by one family for over 40 years, and never separated from its chassis, the car's 100% original body exhibits minimal signs of wear and still proudly displays original service stickers in unrestored door jambs. Re-chromed original bumpers and polished original stainless look almost as good as the day they left the showroom. And it all adds up to one hot coupe that, considering its restoration history, exhibits impeccable fit and finish. The futuristic feel of 'Chrysler PowerStyle', the brand's detailing of Exner's 'Forward Look' bodies, helped mark the debut of jet-age Detroit design that would continue for several years. And, although Chrysler's aerodynamic ingenuity proved especially useful in motorsports, it was the firm's style quotient that quickly sent the market into frenzy. At the front of this classic's rounded body, a chrome, silver-detailed grille hangs an AACA Senior National First plaque between clear marker lamps, a thick bumper, chrome-trimmed headlights and a small header shield. Above that grille, a streamlined hood topper leads the eye to a SuperScenic windshield, pillarless greenhouse glass and a Clearbac backlight. At the sides of that greenhouse, stamped fenders flow into smooth fins behind textured spears, concise door handles and classy Chrysler emblems. And at the back of those fenders, Twin-Tower tail lights center a simple trunk shield and ornate Chrysler emblems above a second wraparound bumper. In the early '50s, Ma MoPar's interest in 6-cylinders began to wane in favor of the power and appeal of proven 8-cylinders. Given that the Newport was the Windsor's ultimate offering, our coupe moves thanks to an original Spitfire V8 which carries a correct "WE56" assembly stamp. In factory-equipped 2-barrel form, this polyspheric mill twisted 8.5 to 1 compression into a healthy 225 horsepower. And, clocking in at 331 cubic inches, it was a relatively easy way for a prestigious brand to compete with more pedestrian competitors. Nicely upgraded with a Hemi intake, Carter carburetors and Hemi heads, the engine appears to wear a roster of era-correct components, from its 'bat wing' air cleaner and dent-free oil pan all the way to its heavy duty radiator and MoPar Jiffy-Jet washer bag. Fire is provided by a traditional Chrysler distributor, which sequences sparks between a vintage generator and fresh Taylor plug wires. The block's clean Aluminum paint contrasts well against the car's Sand Dune engine bay. And little details like "Chrysler FirePower" valve covers, old school fuel bowls and a MoPar green cap battery round out a heavy dose of eyeball appeal. According to Chrysler marketing, the 1956 Windsor was "The Finest of the Fine Cars". Not surprisingly, that statement still holds a lot of weight, as this classy boulevard king rides on a clean chassis that veils pothole-shattering solidity in a silky smooth ride. Behind the Spitfire eight, an original PowerFlite 2-speed twists torque to a correct rear end. That tough driveline spins in a PowerStyle undercarriage that's complete with robust control arms, stiff leaf springs and PowerPilot steering. At the corners of that chassis, PowerSmooth drums ensure solid, fade-free stops. Between those drums, aluminized, true-dual exhaust employs fresh turbo mufflers that sound deep and civilized. And all this road-worthy hardware rolls on old school wire wheels which spin meaty 7.60-15 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls. Take a look inside this coupe and you'll find a mostly original interior that has enough room to haul the whole family in comfort! Front and rear bench seats, which still feel firm to the touch, hang attractive white covers under silver pipes and plaid centerpieces. Like-new carpet, which is protected by cool Forward Look floor mats, does an excellent job of highlighting rich, luxurious ambiance. Above that carpet, a two-tone dash founds a fresh pad over fully rebuilt gauges, pushbutton transmission controls and a correct AM radio. At the sides of that dash, fantastic door panels display prominent '50s design behind fresh stainless trim, bright chrome handles and sculpted armrests. Above those panels, painted A-pillars lead the eye to a tight, white headliner. In front of the driver, a two-tone steering wheel spins a chrome horn ring around a gold centerpiece. And behind the passengers, a fifth wire wheel and fifth whitewall tire ride inside a giant, fully restored trunk that features echo-inducing cargo space. The sale of this airy award winner includes an original dealer brochure, an original owner's manual and paperwork from the Antique Automobile Club of America. This incredible Chrysler is a super cool cruiser that's easy to imagine as the focal point of a national show. With its burly V8, tailored interior and dramatic styling, it represents the pinnacle of American design and manufacturing dominance. If you're looking for a top-notch classic that'll draw a crowd wherever it goes, your search is officially over! About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. THE LAST 2014 HPE650 CORVETTE LISTED FOR SALE, FOUND IN INTERNET ARCHIVES, WAS LISTED AT $107,000, WITH 6,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THERE ISN’T ANOTHER CORVETTE LIKE THIS, WITH THIS MILEAGE, AT THIS PRICE, ON THE PLANET. DON’T MISS AN OPPORTUNITY TO OWN THE ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE CORVETTE FOR 2014. Hennessey Performance Engineering was founded by iconic racer and tuner John Hennessey, in 1991. For almost a quarter of a century, this company has been building extremely fast automobiles. The company is located in Lonestar Motorsports Park in Sealy, Texas, which also serves as their test track. In the beginning, John Hennessey developed his own turbocharger and exhaust systems for the Mitsubishi 3000 GT that he owned. He set many speed records with this car. Forced induction was his passion, both turbochargers and superchargers. Soon, HPE started branching out to other import models. In 1993, HPE was concentrating on development of the fastest Vipers on the planet, and by 1996 began modifying Vipers exclusively. By 2004, HPE acquired Lonestar Motorsports Park, in Sealy, Texas, which served not only as the test track, but by 2008 the company headquarters. In 2008, HPE also opened the Tuner School, the first school dedicated to training high performance vehicle tuners. In 2009, HPE expanded its’ product line to GM products, the Corvette, Camaro, and the Cadillac CTS. HPE now also modifies various vehicles from Ford, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, and GMC. This full service facility offers everything from ported cylinder heads to camshaft upgrades, as well as the supercharger and turbocharger packages. HPE even modifies existing combinations. Fast forward to 2014, and the C7 Corvette story. At the Las Vegas SEMA show in 2014, Hennessey delivered a state of the aftermarket speech. In an interview afterward, he explained the reasoning behind the development of the C7 Corvette program for 2014-2015. The Z06 was the epitome of Corvette performance. However, there were none available in 2014, as Chevrolet put the car on hiatus while developing the 2015 year model. And for the 2015 model year, there would be a limited inventory available. In addition, GM was somewhat unclear in their advertising. Online and print marketing revealed a stripped down price of $78,000. However, the reality of economics, supply, and demand would come into play quickly. “Most dealers are going to be lucky if they get allocated one car and they’re gonna have a lot more orders than vehicles that they can deliver.” noted Hennessey. He also pointed out that few would be be built as base models in the upper $70’s, and most would be loaded out with the Z07 package and push the $100,000 range. To compound the problem, some dealers were charging as much as $25,000 over MSRP, bringing the possible cost to $125-$130K, and that is if you can even get one, depending on your position on the order lists. He theorized that many Corvette buyers might be disappointed. Hence, HPE developed two options for the C7 for 2014-2015 models. Limited to 100 units per package, per year, this allowed more Corvette enthusiasts to own the pinnacle of performance Corvettes. The HP650 upgrade resulted in 662 HP, and the more aggressive HPE700, peaked at 708 HP. HPE took this concept one step farther, offering three upgrade packages for the Z06. Although HPE had offered similar upgrade packages in the past, the 2014-2015 options were unique in that they actually were producing an almost direct replacement to the factory 2015 Z06. The ground pounding vehicle in this ad is number 007 of the 100 HPE650 units for 2014. The 6.2 liter LT1 is already a potent engine, and the Z51 3LT is a great performance car on its’ own merit. With the addition of the HPE upgrades, the performance and handling is equal to, or exceeds, the Z06. We sold this car in 1999, we found it, researched it, documented it, restored it. Recently in the collection of internationally known collector Ron Pratte. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archive/Event/Item/1970-CHEVROLET-CHEVELLE-SS-396-CONVERTIBLE-178646 Another example, we brokered the only 1968 Camaro Z-28 Convertible in July 1993 for 165K, it sold in 2002 for over 7 figures. These are just a couple of examples of the thousands of cars we have sold, and many were super investments. We know the rare muscle car market like no one on the planet. Too much performance just wasn't enough, and user friendliness was exchanged for a healthy combination of style, attitude and danger. Just take a look at this award-winning Chevelle, a car that wraps rare Golden Brown Metallic paint around butch styling, serious big block power and the kind of hardware that's become the stuff of legend. 1 of only 28 1972 SS454 convertibles known to exist, and concours restored with a roster of original and NOS components, THIS is the blue chip muscle car that EVERY octane-fueled gearhead wants to own. And now, thanks to your like-minded friends at RK Motors Charlotte, you can drive one home in better-than-new condition! If you want to be admired by your neighbors, envied by your car club, and loathed by the kid at the local stoplight, pick up the phone and pick up your new Chevelle! As muscle car enthusiasts, we all know it can be very hard to prove GM provenance. Fortunately, the folks at USA-1 had the foresight to equip 1972 Chevelles with Super Sport-specific check digits. Here's a detailed look at the car's VIN and color confirming cowl tag. VIN: 1D67W2B6678901 - ChevroletD - Malibu67 - 2-door convertibleW - 454 cubic inch LS5 V82 - 1972 model yearB - Assembled in Baltimore, Maryland667890 - Production sequence number COWL TAG72 - 1972 model year13667 - 1: Chevrolet, 36: Malibu, 67: 2-door convertibleB - Assembled in Baltimore, Maryland613334 Production sequence number704 Black Elk coated fabric interiorA52 Bench seats57 - Golden Brown Metallic paintB - Black top05C - Assembled during the third week of May, 19720526 - Data processing number 1 of roughly 70 Chevelle SS454 convertibles produced for the 1972 model year, and the only 1972 Chevelle SS454 convertible painted GM code 57 Golden Brown Metallic, this super cool cruiser wears its striking coat of correct two-stage exceptionally well. Under that high quality paint, an incredibly straight fuselage hangs solid panels that, barring their thorough massage during a body-off restoration, appear to have lead a quiet, drama-free existence. Those massaged panels feature-better-than factory alignment and, when opened and closed, sound solid and function well. That functional body's combination of excellent reflections and Kansas-flat surfaces suggests many labor-intensive hours were spent blanketing every inch of its metal with top-notch finish work. And one close look at our high resolution photos reveals a striped and polished Chevy that's ready to run the street and rule the show! By the early 70s, the Chevelle had become one of America's best-selling cars. And Chevrolet continued to introduce subtle refinements that met increasingly strict crash standards while maintaining the model's handsome and distinct profile. At the front of this sublime drop-top, a monochromatic, "CHEVELLE" branded grille centers a prominent "SS" emblem between two AACA plaques, two Power Beam headlights and a fresh chrome bumper. Above that grille, a functional cowl induction hood anchors rebuilt hide-a-way wipers between new pins, pristine stainless trim and like-new glass that's capped by a fresh black top. At the sides of that hood, bright badging and single-unit marker lamps perfectly complement straight wheel frames, traditional door handles and a subtle sport mirror. And at the back of the car, a second chrome bumper centers a second "SS" emblem between classy tail lights, a pristine "Chevelle by Chevrolet" script and spotless stainless exhaust tips. In 1972, the biggest and baddest motor you could shove between the fenders of a Chevrolet passenger car was the mighty LS5. And this car's original 454, which hangs a familiar 3999289 casting number behind a correct "CRW" suffix stamp and matching partial VIN, twists 270 horsepower into an impressive 390 lb./ft. of torque. At the top of the mighty mill, functional cowl induction funnels wind into an original Quadrajet carburetor that's threaded onto fresh stainless fuel lines. Below that carburetor, a sea of Chevy Orange paint spreads from the engine's original intake and original, cast iron heads all the way to its original starter and original, cast iron exhaust manifolds. At the back of those manifolds, an original points distributor shoots fire through eight Packard TV R Suppression cables. And in front of those cables, a reproduction Delco battery complements an original radiator and correct plastic fan shroud. Aesthetically, this road ready Chevelle's fresh exterior paint transitions nicely into a Satin Black engine bay that features a very high level of detail. New GM hoses, with appropriate tower clamps, snake around clean Harrison air conditioning and a correct Frigidaire compressor. And all the familiar extraneous bits, like the car's original water pump, original alternator housing and factory-correct smog equipment are present, sorted and fully accounted for. The theme of 'road ready' extends under this fully restored Super Sport, where you'll find super clean floors and a rebuilt, factory-accurate chassis. Behind the stout engine, a rugged GM Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed sends power to a 12-bolt, posi-traction rear end that's fitted with correct 3.31 gears. Holding that killer drivetrain off the ground is a correct option F41 double A-arm front and 4-link rear suspension that's equipped with factory power steering, heavy duty sway bars and date-correct shock absorbers. The car's rebuilt power front disc and rear drum brake system is present, accounted for and functions exceptionally well. The aforementioned manifolds dump spent gases into high performance, true-dual pipes that mix baritone turbo mufflers with traditional, rear-mounted resonators. And power flows to the pavement via monochromatic Super Sport wheels and correct F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs. The car's frame, free of any major damage, is painted black to match its solid satin floors. And, in keeping with its raucous 454, much attention has been paid to making sure everything under this Chevelle is painted, tagged and virtually spotless! Featuring a host of new components, and decked in classic black vinyl, this coupe's fully restored interior is both comfortable and inviting. Its slick front bucket and rear bench seats, which feature embossed weave patterns that were designed to keep passenger's backs cool, show hardly any signs of wear. In front of those seats, a straight and crack-free dash hangs deluxe Chevelle gauges above a correct Delco radio. Below that dash, fresh black carpet, which is protected by rugged rubber floor mats, centers a chrome horseshoe shifter inside an attractive, stainless-trimmed console. At the edge of that carpet, clean side panels hang spotless stainless trim and prerequisite "SS" emblems above chrome door hardware and small, pliable armrests. In front of the driver, a simple, "SS" branded steering wheel laps an optional tilting column. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk centers a full-size tire and correct jack assembly between a fresh mat and correct decklid decals. Naturally, this pristine Chevelle is the recipient of many distinguished awards. Here's a short list of the car's major accolades:Scored 99.75% at the 2013 Maryland Chevelle Club All Chevelle ShowAwarded First Place, Best Muscle at the 2011 Kuwait Concours d'EleganceAwarded AACA Senior Grand National First Prize at the 2010 AACA Grand National MeetAwarded AACA Senior National First Prize at the 2008 AACA National Meet The sale of this awesome A-Body includes a showboard, restoration photos, a large display of historic marketing materials, and lists of the car's essential numbers and accomplishments. There's no question that this slick brown Chevy is the total package! With a king-of-the-mountain big block, unmatched exclusivity and a fresh, concours-level restoration, it was and still remains an excellent example of 'bragging rights' muscle. If you're ready to put some first class firepower in your automotive arsenal, pick up the phone and enlist this spectacular Chevelle convertible! And in the 1930s, when the marque was tops in the luxury car market, elegant offerings like this magnificent Twelve rightfully earned the tagline 'Boss of the Road'. As smooth now as it was over seven decades ago, this defiantly massive convertible is the absolute pinnacle of pre-war automotive luxury. Enjoyed by only three owners, the car is a known, authentic example of one of the most desirable Classic Era Packards on the planet. As one of only 1,300 1937 Twelves produced, it has been awarded a National First Prize from the AACA and First Senior honors from the CCCA. And presently, it sits as a well-documented, professionally restored cruiser that's an elegant representation of some of America's best history! BODYWORK/TRIM The 15th Series was a conservatively elegant automobile that gave credibility to Packard marketeers' claims of products "as modem as an architectural design by Frank Lloyd Wright". Despite the same finely tailored lines and top-notch appointments, the brand's transition to more streamlined styling would be increasingly evident throughout the decade. But, at its core, the Twelve remained a Classic Era Packard, featuring a towering radiator shell, bullet-shaped headlights, a trademark chrome grille, flowing, skirted fenders, and a familiar 'Cormorant' hood ornament. ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN In the age of 16-cylinder luxury, the Twelve was one of the fastest cars you could buy for anything less than Duesenberg money. That said; the higher-powered offerings from Cadillac, Marmon and Pierce-Arrow could probably nip a Packard Twelve in a close race. But a modified mill like this roadster's 473 cubic inch L-head V12 certainly wasn't something to readily bet against. For 1937, the Twelve's running gear underwent the most radical redesign in its history. The car's traditional 3-speed synchromesh transmission was augmented with an independent front suspension, marketed as "Safe-T-Flex", a proven hydraulic brake system and steel disk wheels. This resulted in 15th Series Packards, most prominently the top-of-the-line 12-cylinder models, being widely regarded as some of the most driver-friendly cars of the Classic Era; with the smooth, effortless engineering of vacuum-boosted brakes and a vacuum-boosted clutch being particularly well-suited to modern roads. As such, the most desirable open body styles are only rarely offered for sale. HISTORY The Coupe Roadster pictured here is a known, authentic and exclusive classic that's believed to be 1 of only 69 builds. The car still has its original firewall tag. Its history is known all the way back to the 1950s. And, for over half a century, this drop-top was the prized possession of well-known Southern California enthusiast Bob Hance, who regularly displayed it at CCCA activities and Golden State Concours d'Elegance. In 2001, when Mr. Hance decided to sell his 2-owner gem, a ground-up, professional restoration was well documented via photographs and receipts. Naturally, that restoration involved impeccable attention to detail, featuring items such as correct pinstripe patterning, a correct leather interior, correct wool carpet and a correctly detailed engine bay. And the car wears many factory accessories including: a heater, a trunk rack, a correct 30-gallon fuel gauge indicator, a factory-installed AM radio that's wired to an under-car antenna and chrome wheel covers that are complete with Packard cloisonne emblems. Since that restoration the car has seen quite a few significant milestones, achieving CCCA Senior Premier status, being recorded as a 2009 AACA National First Prize winner and completing a 900-mile CCCA CARavan. You might say the storied brand has done it all. It's the foundation for today's General Motors Company. It's the foundation for America's growth in the world's largest automotive market. And in the '30s, when Detroit was at the top of its luxury game, fine automobiles like this stylish Series 40 gave solid credibility to the line "Best Buy's Buick". Recently restored into a road-ready resto-mod, this fully sorted cruiser is certainly some of the coolest metal to ever roll down an assembly line. Thanks to its remarkable combination of smooth power and first class style, it sits at the pinnacle of pre-war design. And, if you're a cultured enthusiast who's looking for a unique and clean classic, it's the old school road warrior you've been patiently waiting for! The beneficiary of a professional, frame-off restoration that was completed in late 2012, this stately sedan is one of the coolest tri-shields we've ever seen! On a quest for vintage metal that could be transformed into a comfortable boulevard cruiser, the car's owner found his project sitting next to an airplane hangar in Advance, North Carolina. When a deal was struck, Winston Salem's The Paint Shop stripped the Buick's curvaceous body all the way to bare metal. After some small rust repairs, that body's panels were assembled into a straight and precise profile that displayed Honda Basque Red Pearl two-stage. Trim was sent to Advanced Plating in Nashville, Tennessee for a new, high quality luster. And today, this all-steel 40's prestigious, blemish-free appearance is a lust worthy representation of America's most glorious era of motoring. Highly regarded competitors to some of the world's finest automobiles, '30s Buicks combined proven bodies with Detroit's most innovative and powerful engines to create an unmatched sense of style and grandeur. At the front of this classic's swank 'torpedo' profile, a familiar chrome grille hangs small emblems between chrome-trimmed headlights, streamlined parking lamps and a detailed, wraparound bumper. Above that grille, a 4-piece, folding hood places stainless-trimmed heat extractors amid a streamlined gun sight and long, stainless flanks. At the back of that hood, a clean greenhouse rides behind variable wipers, 1-piece door glass and correct chrome mirrors. At the sides of that greenhouse, a tall fuselage anchors rapier-style door handles between classy running boards, sleek trim spears and a cool "BODY by FISHER" badge. And at the back of those spears, a lit tag topper floats among a second bumper, Bulux tail lights, ornate trunk hardware and a modern power antenna. Cosmetics aside, this sedan features an impressive level of performance. Lift the car's hinged hood and you'll find a potent Vortec V8: the forerunner to virtually all the technology still featured in GM sports cars. Donated by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, this fully-sorted mill combines razor-sharp pulls with a doublewide torque band. And what's better: all that grunt comes standard with hassle-free, 21st century reliability. At the front of the engine, a Billet Specialties TruTrac system spins a polished Powermaster alternator and Vintage Air AC compressor at the base of a polished air tube and familiar Spectre filter element. Once air enters that filter, it flows through a factory throttle body into a factory intake, which is bolted down over completely stock internals. High octane fossils are provided by 12-volt Street and Performance wiring and GM electronic fuel injection. Sparks are sequenced through red AC Delco plug wires. Spent gases are whisked away by a slick pair of ceramic coated block hugger headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a beefy Walker radiator that's complete with a quick-spinning Cooling Components puller fan. Aesthetically, the glossy engine compartment combines with the Vortec's clean silver casting to provide a natural contrast that oozes performance appeal. Niceties such as a chrome brake booster, braided accents and a factory dust cover add just the right amount of flash and detail to make people stop and take notice. And the net result is a buttery smooth, muscle-bound V8 that, through its distinctive rumble, foretells the car's true hot rod nature. Like its drivetrain, this Buick's fully restored chassis was completed by Little Joe's Street Rod Shop in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina. Providing the car's smooth ride is an independent front and 4-bar rear suspension that's augmented by power rack-and-pinion steering and Ridetech RidePRO compression. At the center of that suspension, a 4L60E 4-speed automatic, donated by a 2004 Pontiac GTO, sends power to a Ford 9-inch rear end. At the edges of that drivetrain, true-dual exhaust makes good use of deep turbo mufflers. Outside that exhaust, 4-wheel disc brakes initiate quick, drama-free stops. Outside those brakes, familiar wire wheels spin 225/75R15 Hankook Optimo H724s around "BUICK" branded center caps. And, with a fully sorted undercarriage that's ready to hit the road, this big cruiser would be right at home chauffeuring the family to their favorite dinner spot. An excellent mix of new world style and old world luxury, this 40's ultraleather interior is the perfect place to parade down Main Street. The car's front bucket and rear bench seats are stuffed with fresh padding, covered in wrinkle-free skins and trimmed with modern seatbelts. In front of those seats, a wood-themed dash hangs digitized Classic Instruments telemetry over remote-controlled Custom Autosound acoustics and Vintage Air climate control. Below that dash, a wood console, which features cup holders, courtesy lamps and a 12-volt accessory plug, rides between a small parking brake and clean shifter. At the base of that console, fresh, high quality carpet is anchored by slick, Fisher-branded sill plates and protected by big, color-keyed floor mats. Opposite that carpet, a mouse fur headliner rides tight behind a small, billet mirror. At the sides of that headliner, simple door panels prop traditional handles between discreet power windows, wood-themed frames and fresh Sony speakers. In front of the driver, a "BUICK" branded, banjo-style steering wheel spins a color-keyed rim around a tilting column and modern cruise control. And behind the passengers, a wood-trimmed trunk features compartmentalized storage for all the car's necessities. The sale of this classy sedan includes restoration photos, restoration receipts and a stack of component manuals. Combining a high quality restoration with modern power, this incredible Buick is one of the best resto-mods your money can buy! Add in the car's excellent detailing and impressive road prowess, and it's virtually guaranteed to be the go-to choice for a night on the town. Don't miss this chance to own one of the coolest classics on the planet! About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. You can take the traditional path and buy a highly optioned original car that's fit for a plastic bubble. Or, you can pick up a solid road warrior, grab a bunch of vendor catalogs and build the nastiest resto-mod your money can buy! Take this tough hardtop for example. Sporting a buff 502/3-speed drivetrain, a thoroughly upgraded suspension and stunning black and silver aesthetics, this Chevy is a near perfect combination of vintage feel and cutting edge technology. Forget some stuffy trailer queen that's constantly framed in little red ropes. And forget a 'me too' modern car that'll depreciate faster than its 5-year payoff. With this impressive coupe, you can truly have your cake and eat it too! BODYWORK/TRIM When this A-body left GM's Van Nuys assembly plant in January of 1970, it looked much different than it does today. For starters, the car was covered in a common coat of Fathom Blue single-stage. A run-of-the-mill small block lived between its factory-prepped wheel wells. And coated Black fabric wrapped its standard bench interior. Yes, to make a long story short, it was an era-specific grocery getter that lacked the aesthetic longevity to drop jaws and turn heads. To remedy that, the original paint was stripped and replaced by a slick coat of Mercedes Iridium Silver 2-stage. Custom Mercedes Palladium Silver stripes literally put the icing on the cake. Those feeble drivetrain and interior components were traded for custom-stitched buckets and a fuel-injected version of the ultimate Chevy big block. And today, three years after a 6-figure restoration, this top dog coupe sits as a spectacular piece of iconic American muscle that's detailed to better-than-new standards. Many enthusiasts view early '70s Chevelles as the pinnacle of both muscle car and classic Chevy design. At the front of this sophisticated street fighter, a black crossbar grille hangs a prominent "SS" emblem between chrome-trimmed headlights, small marker lamps and a fresh chrome bumper. Opposite that bumper, a pinned ZL2 hood flows to polished cowl vents, fresh glass and pristine stainless trim. At the base of that trim, straight wheel frames, chrome door handles and clear marker lamps complement a color-keyed Camaro driver's mirror and monochromatic "SS502" badging. And at the back of the car, a second chrome bumper hangs clear brake lights between a fresh "Chevelle by Chevrolet" script and polished exhaust tips. ENGINE Gaze in to the smoothed, body-matched engine bay and you'll find 502 cubic inches of Chevrolet fury! At the top of the sinister mill, a polished Nelson Racing Alien intake mixes electronically injected fuel with wind sourced from polished air tubes and dual K&N filters. That air/fuel mixture floods polished aluminum heads, which hang polished breathers and polished valve covers over beefy Stainless Works headers. At the back of those headers, Electromotive Engine Control sequences spark through proven MSD Super Conductor plug wires. At the front of those wires, polished serpentine components spin a coated Weiand water pump between a polished Powermaster alternator and coated Sanden AC compressor. In front of those components, a polished aluminum radiator circulates coolant around two electric puller fans thanks to a pliable hose and custom tube. And items like trick dipsticks, polished fluid reservoirs and Eddie Motorsports hood supports ensure first class detailing. DRVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Beneath this Chevy, a clean undercarriage tells the story of roughly 1,000 miles. Rock-solid floorpans are sealed in tough undercoating, setting the perfect backdrop for a roster of high quality parts. Behind the immaculate big block, a professionally built Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed spins an aluminum driveshaft, which twists a familiar 12-bolt axle around big, 3.73 gears. That excellent drivetrain is framed by a mostly stock suspension that's been upgraded with QA-1 shocks, Global West control arms and an AGR steering box. When the road starts to twist, a power-assisted rack maximizes driver input. Power-assisted SSBC calipers bridge the gap between four slotted discs and a polished SSBC booster. A sweet, but equally brutal, soundtrack is piped to remote controlled cutouts, or 3-inch pipes that hang an H-shaped crossover in front of Flowmaster dual-chamber mufflers. Power flows through custom Billet Specialties wheels, which turn 235/35ZR19 Nitto NT05s in front of 275/40ZR20 Nitto NT05s. And detail items include a Milodon deep-sump oil pan, a chrome flywheel cover, a finned transmission pan and a polished fuel tank. INTERIOR Featuring a host of custom accents, this coupe's crisp, leather cockpit is both inviting and unique. Its slick seat combo, which features Palladium Silver accents, is firm to the touch and shows no signs of wear. In front of those seats, a straight and crack-free dash hangs Dakota Digital gauges, controls for the car's air conditioning and a modern Alpine CD player behind a correct Super Sport instrument panel. Below that dash, a black and Iridium Silver console anchors a horseshoe shifter above premium carpet and Chevelle themed floor mats. At the sides of that carpet, leather door panels center metallic trim and requisite handles on pliable armrests. In front of the driver, a Billet Specialties Formula Version wheel laps a tilting Ididit steering column. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk features matching carpet. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION AND ACCESSORIESA few component manualsA diagram, CD and instructions for the car's Electromotive Engine ControlMiscellaneous hardware related to the car's various electronics These days, nearly any classic Chevy will turn at least a few heads. Factor in razor-sharp aesthetics, legendary power and a modernized chassis, and you're well on your way to dominating the show scene! If that sounds like a good way to spend your weekends, don't miss the chance to bring home this incredible Chevelle resto-mod. About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. You might say the storied brand has done it all. It's the foundation for today's General Motors Company. It's the foundation for America's growth in the world's largest automotive market. And, in the '50s, when Detroit was at the top of its luxury game, fine automobiles like this magnificent Skylark gave serious credibility to the line "When better automobiles are built Buick will build them". Commissioned to celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary, this fully sorted cruiser is 1 of only 1,690 Skylarks assembled for the 1953 model year. Visually, it's some of the coolest metal to ever roll down an assembly line. Thanks to a remarkable combination of smooth power and world-class style, the car sits at the pinnacle of luxury engineering. And, if you're a cultured enthusiast who's looking for a clean, investment grade classic, it's the carefully restored masterpiece of your dreams! The 1953 Roadmaster Skylark was one of three specialty convertibles created to promote General Motors' leadership in design and innovation. Like its Fiesta and Eldorado stablemates, the Skylark was a limited-production, hand-made halo that was overwhelmingly admired by the public and rewarded with a very successful sales rate. Today, roughly 60 years later, the car's world-class design characteristics can be found in pretty much every modern automaker's aesthetic DNA. And its unique blend of optimistic swagger and unmatched exclusivity make it one of the most coveted classics on the planet. BODYWORK/TRIM The beneficiary of a thorough, frame-off restoration that was completed in the late '90s by Fort Wayne, Indiana's R&S Classic Auto, this killer drop-top is one of the sweetest tri-shields we've ever seen! The restorers began by stripping the car's curvaceous, mostly handmade body all the way to bare metal. When that heavy cleaning was complete, all those Harley Earl-designed panels were assembled into a correct profile that presents largely blemish-free surfaces. After that thorough test fitting, a smooth coat of Matador Red paint was teased to a glossy, show-stopping shine. And today, this Skylark's prestigious appearance is a lust worthy representation of one of America's most glorious eras of motoring. ENGINE Lift the car's 'alligator hood' and you'll find a 322 cubic inch Fireball V8 which wears a correct "V2I0457" assembly stamp and twists a stout 188 horsepower into 300 ft./lb. of low-end torque. Nicknamed the "Nail valve", and eventually known as the "Nailhead", this fully detailed mill employs greater lift and better duration to create a Kansas-flat power band. Funny thing is: hot rodders of the day actually coined the engine's nickname as a derisive description of its puny valvetrain and restrictive plumbing, but they certainly couldn't ignore its stellar power! The proven block has undoubtedly been rebuilt, and probably looks much better today than when it growled off the assembly line. Aesthetically, the mill, which perches a massive air cleaner and big, 4-barrel carburetor above factory heads, has been painted a traditional green hue. There are many fresh pieces like pliable belts, a tagged Delco-Remy generator and proven Hypalon ignition cables. A glossy firewall meets satin fenders to frame those pieces in a construct of distinctly American curves. And overall, the engine seems clean, simple and highly functional. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Essentially, Buick's original Skylark is a fully optioned and highly customized Roadmaster. And the firm's decision to use its proven C-Body architecture certainly wasn't a bad one as quality and reliability, words rarely uttered in the same sentence as "highly customized", remained solid. The basis for this drop-top's solidity is an industrial strength chassis that rides on a correctly restored suspension. At the center of that suspension, a new-for-1953 Twin Turbine Dynaflow, which wears a correct "J" assembly stamp, twists power to a factory rear end. At the edges of that drivetrain, big drum brakes initiate quick, drama-free stops. Turns come courtesy of factory power steering. A single-pipe exhaust system makes good use of a factory replacement muffler. Everything rolls on familiar Kelsey-Hayes wires, which spin 235/75R15 Dayton whitewalls around "SKYLARK" branded center caps. And, with a fully sorted undercarriage that's ready to hit the road, this big cruiser would be right at home chauffeuring the family to their favorite dinner spot. INTERIOR An excellent mix of new world style and old world luxury, this Skylark's striking interior, restored by Jenkins Restorations of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, is the perfect place to parade down Main Street. The car's plush benches are stuffed with thick padding, covered in pleated leather and trimmed in era-correct hardware. In front of those seats, a Matador Red dash hangs a correct Selectronic radio, a rebuilt clock and chrome-trimmed gauges behind a textured instrument panel. At the base of that dash, high quality carpet is anchored by slick "Skylark" branded sill plates. At the sides of that carpet, ornate, chrome-trimmed door panels found small power window switches between correct chrome handles. In front of the driver, an intricate, color-keyed steering wheel spins a full horn ring around a customized centerpiece. And behind the passengers, a snug-fitting cowl snaps over a fully restored trunk that centers a fifth wire wheel inside a fifth whitewall tire. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION AND ACCESSORIESA framed collage of restoration photosMiscellaneous service recordsTwo display boardsA framed poster Combining a thorough restoration with acute detailing, this investment grade Skylark is one of the best classics money can buy! Add in the car's smooth drivetrain and low production numbers, and it's virtually guaranteed to gain value AND exclusivity. We all know it's becoming increasingly tough to find top-notch, correctly restored post-war metal. Don't miss your chance to own one of the coolest Buicks on the planet! This is exactly why we created the RKM Performance Center. Being proud members of SEMA, ARMO, HRIA and the North Carolina Motorsports Association, the RKM Performance Center is a nationally recognized shop; best known for high level OEM restorations and custom builds. Well, it turns out that car has a sibling! Decked in an inverse Tuxedo Black and Shadow Gray paint scheme, updated with modern chassis components and hooked to a 468 cubic inch big block V8, this tastefully modified Chevy turns a traditionally appealing platform into a head-turning super star. If you're ready to hit the streets in a sinister muscle car that's built to take on anything, have a close look at this stunning Chevelle! BODYWORK/TRIM When this A-body left GM's Van Nuys assembly plant in July of 1970, it looked much different than it does today. For starters, the car was covered in a glowing coat of Champagne Gold single-stage. A run-of-the-mill small block lived between its factory-prepped wheel wells. And code 776 Metallic Medium Gold cloth coated its standard bench interior. Yes, to make a long story short, it was an era-specific grocery getter that lacked the aesthetic longevity to drop jaws and turn heads. To remedy that, the original paint was stripped and replaced by a slick coat of Tuxedo Black 2-stage. Orange pin striping and Shadow Gray war paint literally put the icing on the cake. Those feeble drivetrain and interior components were traded for modern performance and custom bucket seats. And today, fresh out of a body-off, rotisserie restoration, this top dog Chevy sits as a spectacular piece of iconic American muscle that's detailed to better-than-new standards. Many enthusiasts view early '70s Chevelles as the pinnacle of both muscle car and classic Chevy design. At the front of this coupe, a custom, body-matched bumper founds small driving lamps beneath a clean crossbar grille and modern, black-trimmed headlights. Above that bumper, a pinned cowl induction hood anchors like-new glass between painted drip rails, body-matched trim and correct, body-matched mirrors. Below those mirrors, painted door handles, body-matched lamps and shaved rocker trim leave the car's monochromatic profile free of any frivolous distractions. And at the back of that profile, a shaved decklid caps a second body-matched bumper that features smoked and black-trimmed taillights. ENGINE Gaze in to the car's glossy engine bay and you'll find 468 cubic inches of big block bliss that creates an estimated 540 horsepower! At the top of that sinister mill, a big Holley 4-barrel mixes wind supplied by a color-keyed Edelbrock air filter with fuel that's piped through polished stainless fluid lines. That air/fuel mixture floods an Edelbrock aluminum intake on the way to Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, which hang Edelbrock-branded valve covers between coated Hedman Hedders and a matching Edelbrock breather. At the back of that intake, an aftermarket HEI distributor sequences spark through loomed MSD plug wires. At the front of those wires, a high quality March serpentine system spins an Edelbrock water pump between a polished alternator and modern AC compressor. In front of those ancillaries, a polished Champion Cooling radiator circulates fluid around two electric puller fans. And items like chrome bolt-ons, polished power steering components and custom cowls add a high level of visual detail. DRVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Beneath this Chevy, a clean undercarriage tells the story of roughly 1K test miles. Rock-solid floorpans are coated in durable undercoating, setting the perfect backdrop for a roster of high quality parts. Behind the impressive big block, a proven Tremec 5-speed spins a 12-bolt posi-traction rear end around mild 3.08 gears. That excellent drivetrain is framed by a mostly stock suspension that's been upgraded with a beefy Hotchkis sway bar, aftermarket control arms and modern lowering springs. When the road starts to twist, power-assisted steering maximizes the driver's input. Four power-assisted calipers squeeze four drilled and slotted rotors to provide good braking. Spent gases race from the aforementioned headers in to an H-shaped crossover and rowdy Magnaflow mufflers. Power flows to the pavement through black BOSS Motorsports wheels, which turn 245/35ZR20 Lionhart LH-THREES in front of 275/30ZR20 Lionhart LH-THREES. And detail items include a Milodon oil pan, stainless fluid lines and a stainless fuel tank. INTERIOR Sporting a custom leather interior, this Chevelle is both inviting and unique. Its plush bucket seats, which feature slick diamond tuck covers, show no signs of wear at all. In front of those seats, a custom dash frames an assortment of Auto Meter gauges in a decidedly European instrument panel. Below that dash, a custom, full-length console anchors a traditional chrome shifter between Vintage Air climate control, sleek power window switches, small Auto Meter accessory gauges and Kenwood touch-screen audio. Beneath that console, deluxe carpet floats matching floor mats between bright courtesy lamps, stainless foot pedals and custom, Kicker-equipped kick panels. At the sides of that carpet, sculpted door panels feature upright, billet handles. In front of the driver, a polished and "SS" branded steering wheel laps a polished, titling column. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk features a nice combination of carpet and leather. With its awesome motor, smooth body and fully sorted chassis, this Chevelle is the very definition of American muscle. And the car's fresh build represents first class showmanship at its very finest. If you're in the market for a top-notch classic that can win trophies and literally own the street, this Chevy is your kind of car! Name E-Mail Phone Question Who are we? Jeremy and Jennifer Smith started Autos of Palm Beach after returning from three years of volunteer work in South America. They both enjoyed the Internet and automobiles so in 2002 they started helping people invest in cars via eBay. They worried that honest people would have a hard time in the used car business, but thanks to the feedback system on eBay, honesty is rewarded. Today Jeremy and Jennifer continue their love for helping others and have passed the torch to fellow auto enthusiast Daniel Malerba. Along with a friendly and knowledgeable support staff, they continue to assist people in finding quality used vehicles. Daniel continues to maintain the company’s stellar reputation for world-class customer service. In the last eleven years the company has been happily involved with thousands of different individuals. Autos of Palm Beach is a small operation and handles only the nicest cars. Terms of Sale The following terms of sale apply to all of our online sales as well as sales resulting from online ads or other ad, or a procurement sale. “autosofpalmbeach” is a registered eBay user name of Autos of Palm Beach. Infinity Enterprises d/b/a Autos of Palm Beach is a Florida Independent Dealer operating under VI 1010406/2. It is located at 1710 Old Okeechobee Rd, Suite A, West Palm Beach, FL 33409. The office can be reached at 561-207-7198. Deposit The successful high bidder of an online ad will submit a $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 2 calendar days (48 hours) of the close of the auction/ad to secure the vehicle. It is a simple form & basically for reporting purposes only. NOTE: Please be sure to have full payment and/or approved financing in place BEFORE making your final bid. Call for more information. We apologize for any inconvenience but company policy is that we do not accept credit card as method of payment beyond the $500.00 deposit amount. If you ‘win’ an auction you herein agree to subject yourselves to these terms and, therefore, if you cannot arrange financing your deposit will be held by Autos of Palm Beach to help cover costs involved in the auction/ad. Buyer / bidder is responsible for payment of the inspection. Call Johan at 561-249-1433 for a current quote/estimate from our location to yours. When these units are purchased from the dealer-only auctions as trade-ins or lease turn-ins they may not have some ‘accessories’ which you may feel should be included. Such items include things like books & manuals, extra keys, remotes, headphones (for entertainment packages), tools, cargo nets, floor mats, CD cartridges, wheel lock keys, etc. Also, due to human imperfection, and/or occasional software glitches, if you see a vehicle advertised, for example, for $200.00, please understand we are not selling a car for such a price and a correction will be made. A click of the wrong button can mean the difference between a starting price and a selling price. If you see such an amazing ‘deal’ please contact us right away to verify as it is likely an error and we will not be able to honor it. Sorry, we are only human! J Fees and Taxes Autos of Palm Beach charges a Dealer Prep Fee in the amount of $295.00 on all vehicle purchase transactions. Too much performance just wasn't enough, and user friendliness was exchanged for a healthy combination of style, attitude and danger. Just take a look at this Chevelle Super Sport, a car that wraps butch styling around serious big block horsepower and the kind of hardware that's become the stuff of legend. With its ample and inexpensive parts supply, ease of ownership and classic, all-American appeal, THIS is the top dog muscle car that every octane-fueled gearhead wants to park in their garage. And now, thanks to your like-minded friends at RK Motors Charlotte, you can drive one home in better-than-new condition! And unlike a documented, numbers matching version, this one won't cost you $500,000.00! So, if you want to be admired by your neighbors, envied by your car club, and loathed by the kid at the local stoplight, pick up the phone and pick up your new Chevelle! But before we get too far, let's first take a close look at the VIN and Fendertag: VIN: 136670B******1: Chevrolet3: Chevelle 6: 8-cylinder 67: 2-door convertible 0: 1970 B: Baltimore******: Six digit production number Fender tag ST70 13667: 1970 Chevelle 2-door convertible B: Baltimore assembly plant300812: Body production sequencePNT 19 B: Tuxedo black paint with black soft-top Trim 788: Strato bucket seats with custom red vinyl interior 06D: Assembled the fourth week of June As with any high caliber classic, this Chevy's paint and bodywork is first-rate throughout. Its original Tuxedo Black finish was accurately duplicated, including white stripes that have been buried under glossy clear for killer, show car looks. That paint highlights a roster of steel which, when combined with its clean frame, documents a history of no rust or damage. That steel's reboot is extremely well done, featuring finish work that's befitting an ultra-rare show queen. And naturally, everything was carefully color-sanded and buffed to a mirror-like shine. Many enthusiasts believe the '70 Chevelle introduced a host of excellent refinements which transformed the 'good' design of Chevrolet's '69 model into something 'great'. At the front of this black rocket you'll find a familiar crossbar grille which hangs a fresh and prominent "SS" emblem between a small "CHEVELLE" script, four stainless-trimmed T3s and a fresh chrome bumper. Above that bumper, a functional cowl induction hood anchors traditional lanyards and rebuilt hide-a-way wipers at the base of like-new glass that's framed by pristine stainless trim and a correct black top. At the base of that trim, subtle red and white inlayed "SS454" badges combine with straight stainless wheel frames, traditional chrome door handles and flashy chrome mirrors to add visual detail to the car's liquid smooth profile. And at the back of that profile, a second chrome bumper hangs a black Super Sport inlay between clear brake lights, a fresh "Chevelle by Chevrolet" trunk emblem and spotless chrome exhaust tips. Although the 1970 Chevelle Super Sport's ferocious LS6 Turbo Fire V8 was conservatively rated at 450 horsepower, it likely punched the dyno somewhere north of 500. And naturally, as a well done tribute, this coupe's era-correct big block wears a correct 3963512 casting number, looks good enough to fool all but the most enlightened classic car fans, and performs well enough to scare the hell out of anyone brave enough to bury its gas pedal. Give the lanyards a solid pull and you'll find a fully functional cowl induction system that's cleanly integrated into a completely finished, satin black hood. At the center of that cowl induction system a correctly decaled, single snorkel air cleaner forces oxygen into a coated Holley carburetor which rides on a correct Winter intake. At the sides of the Packard TVR wires, an attractive pair of stock exhaust manifolds swirl spent gases into a great sounding true dual exhaust system. And at the front of that exhaust system, reproduction GM hoses channel water to and from the radiator with the help of old school tower clamps. Aesthetically, from its fresh reproduction Delco Energizer battery and new brake booster to its clean stainless lines and highly accurate decals, this Chevelle's engine bay is nicer than anything that left GM's factories. The theme of 'road ready' also extends under this fully restored Super Sport where you'll find super clean floors and a rebuilt, factory-accurate chassis. Behind the stout engine, a rugged Muncie 4-speed rockcrusher M22, that wears a correct 661 case, sends power to a 12-bolt, Posi-traction rear end that's equipped with correct 3.31 posi-gears. Holding that killer drivetrain off the ground is a correct option F41 double A-arm front and 4-link rear suspension that's equipped with factory power steering, heavy duty sway bars and stiffer springs. The car's rebuilt power front disc and rear drum brake system is present, accounted for and functions exceptionally well. The aforementioned exhaust manifolds dump spent gases into high performance, true-dual pipes that mix chamberer mufflers with traditional, rear-mounted resonators. And power flows to the pavement via stylish Super Sport wheels and correct F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas Wide Tread tires. The car's frame, free of any major damage, is painted black to match its solid red floors. And, in keeping with its raucous 454, much attention has been paid to making sure everything under this Chevelle is clean, mean and ready to go! Featuring a host of new components, and decked in classic red vinyl, this coupe's correctly restored interior is both comfortable and inviting. Its slick front bucket and rear bench seats, which feature embossed weave patterns that were designed to keep passenger's backs cool, show hardly any signs of wear. In front of those seats, a straight and crack-free dash hangs a deluxe Chevelle gauge cluster above correct climate controls and a snazzy 8-track stereo. Below that dash, fresh red carpet, which is protected by rugged rubber floor mats, centers a chrome Muncie shifter inside an attractive, stainless-trimmed console. At the sides of that carpet, clean door panels hang spotless stainless trim, prerequisite SS emblems and pliable armrests. In front of the driver, a red-rimmed Rally wheel keeps everybody pointed in the right direction. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk centers a full-size spare tire and correct jack assembly between a fresh mat and correct decklid decals. Overall, this glossy black Chevy is the total package. With a king-of-the-mountain big block and legendary Muncie 4-speed, it was and still remains an excellent example of 'bragging rights' muscle. If you're ready for some first class firepower in your automotive arsenal, don't miss the chance to take home this spectacular Chevelle Super Sport! They'll see offerings like this top notch C2 roadster, a no compromises pro-tourer, and most likely change their tone. It's really no secret why people love vintage Vettes so much; they're some of the meanest, most exclusive and most enjoyable muscle cars on the planet. And despite its exceptional modifications, which include a custom chassis, modern suspension and LS7 power, none of this Sting Ray's beloved design or old school goodness has been compromised. If you're an enlightened enthusiast who enjoys being at the pinnacle of style, the top of the leader board and the front of the show, this world class Chevy is the car of your dreams! Refinished in a stunning coat of DuPont Nassau Blue, and decorated with a white stinger stripe, this handsome roadster is a refreshing change from the sea of red and black Corvettes that typically floods the big shows. That said; the car was certainly intended to be a showpiece from the word "go". And one look at our professional, high resolution photos proves its rebirth was both thorough and precise. It's common knowledge that second generation Corvettes can be challenging restorations. But this roadster has all the signs of an expert job, including great panel alignment, good gaps and no signs of cracks or stress marks in any of the usual places. The soft glow of the car's fresh two-stage presents well from all angles, accenting a body which manages to hit the magical mark that separates a good restoration from an amateur affair. And its desirability as something that's as svelte as it is buff is both fitting and genuine. When you step back and look at this striking Vette, it's not hard to understand why many enthusiasts believe the C2 sits at the pinnacle of classic car design. And a large part of that perception is evoked by the car's excellent detailing. At the front of this roadster, bullet-style marker lights, a brilliant bumper and a red, white and black header cage a body-width, stainless-trimmed grille. At the sides of that grille, colorful fender flags ride between traditional door handles, a chrome bowtie mirror, and chambered and shielded side pipes. Opposite those pipes, a '67 Sting Ray hood leads the eye past C6 Z06 emblems to like-new glass, fresh stainless trim and a white canvas roof. And behind that roof, dual-mode tail lights illuminate a chrome-trimmed fuel filler, a clean "Corvette Sting Ray" script, a chrome-trimmed tag bracket and small, equally brilliant bumpers. This Chevy started life as a run-of-the-mill (if there is such a thing) 327 Corvette. Back in '65, that set-up was considered the hottest small block package on the market. But times change, and today, GM's 7.0 liter LS7 is, hands down, the hottest small block your money has ever been able to buy. Twisting 505 horsepower into a claimed 3.6 second 0-60 time, the 2010 LS7 crate motor rumbling beneath this car's hood is a technological testament to the old rule: more cubic inches equals more power! Founded in GM's very successful Corvette racing program, the brutal mill utilizes a forged crank, titanium rods and hypereutectic pistons to flat out whip pretty much anything with four wheels. A perfect amount of oxygen flows from a big, reusable filter element in to a familiar GM throttle body. That wind mixes with fuel in a factory intake and progresses to CNC-ported cylinder heads that are built with lightweight titanium valves. Immediately following combustion, spent gases roar through 2.5-inch pipes via coated Rewarder Racing Products headers. Items like a Be Cool aluminum radiator, dry-sump lubrication, corrugated hoses and a SPAL electric puller fan ensure rocket-like acceleration. And a Satin Black frame, a chrome brake booster and familiar red dust covers enhance GM's traditionally conservative aesthetics. With a featherweight body and monstrous power on tap, it should come as no surprise that the bottom of this Vette features a host of noteworthy upgrades. The car's road-ready driving dynamics begin with a modern Street Shop chassis. Behind the stout LS7, a 2010 Tremec TKO600 5-speed twists torque through a rugged hydraulic clutch. That torque races to a posi-trac C4 rear end, which is fitted with smooth, 3.45 gears. That first class drivetrain rolls on a fourth generation Corvette independent suspension, which is equipped with fresh QA1 coil-overs. Turns come courtesy of modern power rack-and-pinion steering. Smooth and solid stops are initiated when bright red calipers squeeze drilled and slotted rotors; 13 inches up front and 11 inches out back. Power flows through American Racing Torq Thrust IIs, which spin 245/45ZR17 Kumho Ecsta SPTs around polished spinners. And everything, from this Corvette's braided brake hoses to its clean fuel tank, is expertly finished, superbly detailed and ready for action. Inside this Chevy you'll find a standard leather interior that's completely restored to showroom mint. The thick white seats feel firm to the touch and show virtually no signs of wear. In front of those seats, a sporty, dual-cowl dash hangs a small clock and correct AM/FM head unit between electric gauges and controls for modern air conditioning. Under that dash, stain-free carpet centers a small console and traditional chrome shifter between color-keyed floor mats. At the sides of that carpet, good looking door panels trace plush armrests with clean chrome handles and bright stainless trim. And in front of the driver, a wood-rimmed steering wheel twists satin spokes around a colorful horn button. No matter how much of a purist you might be, you have to admit this Sting Ray is one seriously cool ride. It's exceptionally built, incredibly appealing and, thanks to tasteful upgrades and a spectacular restoration, can show with the nicest cars on the planet. Purchased new by actress Valerie Harper, and spending the next five decades in the warm California sun, it's a blue chip example of some of the most revered metal Detroit has ever produced. If you're a hardcore Chrysler collector who's itching for the ultimate investment grade big fin letter car, this all-American cruiser will have you reminiscing about the late '50s and great Americana. Chrysler's research during wartime and their development work on a new engine for the P-47 Thunderbolt led to the now-famous hemispherical combustion chamber design, or as us car guys like to refer to it as the "Hemi". However, the 300C was incredible not only because of its power, but it also was loved by many because of its exceptional handling that resulted from a lowered placement of the heavy engine and careful location of the rear leaf springs. The 300C's futuristic design helped mark the debut of jet age Detroit styling trends that would continue for several years. And although Chrysler's aerodynamic ingenuity came in handy at Daytona Beach, where a fire breathing 390 horsepower Hemi propelled the car to 134 MPH, it was the firm's style quotient that quickly sent the market into a frenzy. At the front of this rag-top's sculpted body is a bold, 'yawning' grille that hangs a red, white and blue "300" emblem between chrome trimmed 'increased visibility' headlamps and innovative brake cooling ducts. Below that grille is an original, re-chromed bumper wrapping clear marker light into pristine stainless fender trim; and above that grille, a fresh chrome "CHRYSLER" script combines with a grafted center fin to detail the car's massive hood. At the sides of the car's body, rolled fenders flow into smooth fins behind great looking stainless trim and large red, white and blue "300" emblems. Below that trim, dent-free stainless gravel shields protect the fenders from the car's twist happy tires; and above the trim is stylish chrome mirrors that combine with flush chrome door handles to lend a healthy dose of form and function. At the top of the car, an angled windshield and like-new greenhouse glass ride between a fresh tan top, bright opposing windshield wipers and polished original trim. And at the back of the car, jet-inspired tail lights center a simple chrome tag bracket and an ornate "300" emblem above a second original re-chromed bumper. With this car's 392 cubic inch Firepower V8 Chrysler created a big block legend that's still highly regarded as a revolutionary blend of performance and luxury. Not only does this hot Hemi mill produce 375 horsepower, but it also twists out 9.25 to 1 compression into 420 lb./ft. of torque. Induction is handled by a pair of gold air cleaners that are piped directly into two high performance Carter 4-barrel carburetors. Fire is provided by a high performance points distributor which shoots sparks between a tagged 30 amp generator and fresh black plug wires. Combustion comes courtesy of a high performance camshaft which breathes through a high performance intake and low restriction exhaust manifolds. Aesthetically, the engine's fresh aluminum paint contrasts well against cool gold valve covers and the car's glossy Gauquin Red engine bay. And little details like stainless lines, rebuilt horns, a reproduction Mopar red cap battery, a correct Silentflite fan drive and a cool Jiffy Jet washer bag provide tons of exciting eyeball appeal. Put the 300C on a lift and you'll see that bolted to the massive HEMI is the original pushbutton A488 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic push button transmission that sends power to the 8 rear axle. Also underneath you'll see the torsion bar front suspension bolted to the X-frame chassis and in the rear a leaf spring setup houses the aforementioned rear-axle. Stopping power comes courtesy of a power drum brakes, and in front of those brakes 14" steel rims have been wrapped in BF Goodrich Silvertown Whitewall tires. Hop inside this handsome Chrysler and you'll find a spacious and airy driving environment which has enough room to haul the whole family in comfort and style. Tan leather bench seats harbor correct seat cushions which still feel firm to the touch. Black carpet does an excellent job of highlighting the car's bright stainless accents and correctly cushioned dash. And speaking of the dash, a bright rearview mirror, a red, white and blue "300" emblem, a rare Highway Hi-Fi record player and pushbuttons for the tough Torqueflite transmission frame super cool 'jet age' gauges that are centered on a continuous motion clock. At the sides of the seats, fantastic tri-tone door panels display a prominent 50s design theme between correct power windows and cool "300" branded sill plates. Behind the seats, a new convertible cowl snaps down over a giant, fully restored trunk which props a fifth wire wheel and a full-size spare tire next to an echo-prone level of cargo space. And in front of the driver, a gorgeous wide-diameter steering wheel spins an attractive two-tone rim around a deep-seated "300" center piece and a full chrome horn ring. This '57 300C Convertible represents a huge milestone in the development of Chrysler Corporation as a powerhouse manufacturer. After tearing up the beaches in Daytona and shattering speed records at the firm's own Chelsea Proving Grounds, it single-handedly spawned the world-class performance image Chrysler's eponymous brand enjoyed well into the '70s. This car is absolutely one of the best first year letter series convertibles in existence, it represents the pinnacle of American design and manufacturing dominance and it's the kind of rare investment opportunity that only comes around once in a lifetime. If you're a discerning gearhead who likes top-notch classics that draw crowds wherever they go, this high performance luxury machine will be a significant addition to your collection!
