Really nice 1970 El Camino SS 396. True SS as verified by VIN decode/Trim Tag. I am a regular buyer at auctions and can attest all vehicles I have bought at auction have issues ranging from minor to serious. Part of the fun for me is buying these and correcting issues, enjoying them for a while, then sending them on to a new home. I bought this El Camino at McCormick's Auction in February 2015 and have sorted out some nagging drivability issues. I noticed it was previously a no-sale at Mecum in Anaheim in Fall 2014 and I feel I bought it fair at the Palm Springs Auction early 2015. I have taken this car to many local cruise nights in and around Salt Lake City where it draws a lot of attention. I bought this car because the aesthetics of the restoration were spot on. The bodywork and paint are flawless (top and bottom side). The under-hood is very correct, tidy, and clean. I noticed in prior pictures of this car, it had a 375HP sticker on the air-cleaner which was technically incorrect based on the lower redline tachometer in the car. I believe the prior owner recognized this and removed the 375hp label. It should show 350hp. I have ordered the correct indicator which is missing in the pictures. I have thoroughly gone through all of the mechanical systems. All suspension bushings appeared to be new with the exception of the rear track arms and panhard bushings. I have had these replaced with new and everything now feels very tight. Brakes work perfectly and appear to be very freshly re-done. Underside of this El Camino is very clean. The car tracks and brakes very straight. When testing the engine for emissions, I noted the hydrocarbons readings were way high off the charts which I diagnosed back to timing adjustments and a carburetor that needed rebuild. Rather than rebuild, I purchased a correct Quadrajet upgraded by JET (Stage 2) and installed. I also added higher quality plug wires and new spark plugs. The engine now runs really good, strong, and clean. Based on the condition of the underhood and underside of the car, I'd say there is likely few miles on this vehicle since the power plant was last reinstalled. The transmission shifts perfectly. This was an original California car and I have the original California black/gold License plates that were first issued to this vehicle. This El Camino is highly equipped with Power Steering, Power Disc (Front) Brakes, Deluxe Bucket Interior with center console, SS Mag Wheels, and Factory A/C. There are two items remaining that would make this car stunning. Both items have been on my list of to-do's for too long and I have too many other projects. The window channel rubber really should be replaced. The window sill rubber (bottom horizontal) looks very fresh but for some reason the channel rubber (vertical rubber) is showing age. I have the replacement rubber from OPGI but I haven't yet replaced it which involves removing the door glass (new channel rubber included with sale). Also, the dash illumination and a couple gauges are not operating correctly. If I was going through all of the trouble to tear the dash apart to debug, I would consider just putting in a fresh under dash wiring harness. All in all, probably 10 hours of work by a home mechanic to solve both issues. This is a very good honest car with what I have disclosed above. I would not hesitate driving it long distances (although it's too nice of shape to risk road debris). If you love the Chevrolet El Camino, you have the 1970 SS near the top of your favorite years. This is a car you can buy and truly enjoy for generations whether it be for show/shine or as a fun cruiser. Inspections welcome.... Up for sale is a 1990 Nissan Skyline 'R32' GT-R. The previous owner of this vehicle preferred white (#WV2 - Sparkling Silver) over the original #KG1 - Jet Silver Metallic. The paint was not cheap and it was a full remove and install (R&I). The engine bay was kept its original flat black as it was when it came out of the factory with KG1 paint code. All mileage history pertaining to the Odometer reading is recorded and in our possession for verification / proof. The car has absolutely no rust, no damage, no engine oil leakage, transfer-case or rear diff leaks. The previous shop owner had a BNR34 in paint code #WV2, and so once he sold that off, he turned to his R32 GT-R and so wanted the same color scheme. All moldings, front and rear glass have been changed. The rear glass is a NISMO rear wiper-less glass. All side windows and glass have been replaced. The front driver-side and passenger-side door panels have been replaced and so have the moldings on it and around it. All GT-R's have a design defect which has a white piece holding the door molding that captures dust and residue over time which can cause deep scratching of the glass, for this reason, the shop owner replaced that out as well.Furthermore, it does not smoke at startup, nor does it have any bluish white color when revving as you can see by the video below. For sale is a 1999 NSX in excellent overall condition, pretty well entirely original except very minor changes detailed below. I have had the car just over two years, flew to California to buy it sight unseen, had TB/WP done locally (by complete chance my customer in LA's father-in-law is the NSX tech at the Acura dealer in Anaheim) shipped it back top save on the mileage. I am now selling the car as it has become a bit of a garage queen due to my nervousness parking and driving it “just anywhere”. I started looking for a higher mileage coupe as a daily driver, and stumbled over a scruffy 91 CTSC locally in February, so bought that and have been driving it daily. Photos to prove this on request. So the 1999 has been more or less sitting there since then then, This car drives extremely well, no issues, no leaks. Great oil pressure both when cold and hot (see photos). Both windows go up and down fine! AC works great, CD changer and stereo all working OK and has the Smartenna upgrade. Full toolkit.No real wear on the interior, minimal on the drivers bolster. My PPI was done at Metro Acura in Monclair, CA and both they and Weir Canyon said it was one of the best NSXs that they had had in their shops. Nabil at First Class Auto in Orlando has also driven it and given it his blessing. She has twice been included in the Cars And Coffee at Amelia Island Concours D’Elegance. Paint seems to be original. I have been over the painted metal with one of a quality paint thickness gauge and pretty well all of it is uniform and less than 6 mil. The only exception seems to be the driver-side rear quarter across the top which seems to be a little more, like 7 mils. I think this very unlikely to have been repainted though – seems like a very odd place to have been damaged so I think this is likely original. There are a few marks on the lower driver’s door, and a light series of scratch marks on the trunk lid and top of the hood (about 6 inch square, which I should buff out - I will get this looked at later this week), along with the usual minor rock chips on the front of the car. Overall the paint really pops with no signs of swirls. It was last detailed and clayed back in January prior to Amelia Island. There is one accident on record (2001 or so) but this must have been confined to the plastic bumper covers (front or rear) as no sign of paint work as described above.I have full docs since I bought it in June 2013, nothing available prior to then. But the car has clearly lead a sheltered life. Since I have owned it:June 2013, 67,867: Timing belt, water pump, belts, valve adjustment, oil change, air filter, glove box hinges, rear brake pads, trunk struts and coolant tank replaced by Weir Canyon Acura, Anaheim, CAJuly 2013: New batteryApril 2014, 69,899: front pads and rotors, oil changeApril 2014: AC head unit fixed by BrianK (it had the usual NSX full-blast-or-zero fan problem)December 2014, 71,837: replaced thermostat as was sticking openAugust 2015, 73.100: new tiresNo known mechanical issues. Cars sits on brand new Kumho Ecsta XS tires with (as of today) 100 miles on them, stock 16/17 rims and Intraxx lowering springs offering a slight drop - I would guess at 1". The Smartenna addition means the antenna only goes up when listening to the radio - the factory stereo triggers the antenna with radio, cassette or CD. I don't have any cassettes so have never tested the cassette player. The only issue that I can think of is that there is a small tear in the rear targa seal (attached to the body). This does NOT leak or generate any wind noise. St Augustine is half way between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach and I can meet you at either airport if flying in to view or pickup her up. PPI is no problem, anywhere within a reasonable drive, suggest you use one of the two dealers in Jacksonville – Orange Park Acura (they have worked on both my NSXs, parts manager is a Prime member with a 1991) and Duval Acura (no knowledge of them at all, driven by the fact that they tried to charge me $567 to do the thermostat…). I don’t know anything about the Daytona dealerships. I did a quick scan of the NSX Prime For Sale ads – there hasn’t been a 1999 for sale since December last year, more than 100 cars back so this is a pretty unusual find. They (97-01 NA2s, and for some reason 1999s) seem to be the hardest of the NSX subgroups to find for sale. Even though less frog-eye 2002-2005 cars were made and for less time, they seem to come up more often. Lastly, I have the original Carfax from when I bought the car two years ago in PDF if you need it. Cash, wire transfer or cashiers check (I will be calling your bank to confirm authenticity) to close the deal Shipping is obviously up to you once paid for. For sale is my 1969 GTO convertible with low miles. It is an all original numbers matching GTO that I purchased from the second owner a few years ago. That owner had the car since 1973 so the history and low mileage is verifiable. It was in Arizona and now California for all of its life, and the frame and body is void of any serious rust. It is a driver that needs bottom end motor work. In listing this car a couple weeks ago and continuing to drive on the weekends and to work, a noise came up that sounds like a rod bearing. The car is currently at my mechanic's for diagnosis. I drove the car there, but would not drive it out. I had washed the car and was readying it for the next owner when this happened. Honestly glad it happened when it did. Estimate from a reputable rebuild operation like Jasper's of Anaheim CA, is $7,500 for a total rebuild of this original motor. The car will then have a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. My mechanic is a certified Jasper's partner and can do the install. So this auction does not include that service obviously, and I am selling the GTO for my original offering price less that expense of a quality rebuild. Options: It has factory options such as power top, air conditioning and the fun power antenna. It comes with two sets of wheels, the 5 originals, and the aftermarket 15 inch wheels now on the car. This car has been great fun for me but needs to go to a new home. Paint: The car was originally a more pale yellow (Mayfair Maize) and is now a late model GTO yellow color which is very close to a corvette yellow. It has had just the one repaint done by the prior owner. It is a 6/10 in my opinion, and there are some dings and marks which you can see in the photos. Nothing serious to buff out or fix but it was a less than perfect paint job to begin with as they left the glass in and trim on and simply masked everything. I don't see any rust on the body but would ask that you do a PPI to make sure. That can be done at the prospective new owners expense by calling Alex Romo Auto Repair in Duarte CA. Engine/Drivetrain: The motor was running so well before the rod bearing noise, so this should be an easy rebuild. The car sat for so many years and hence the low miles but I think it also made it tough for the motor. I have redone the rear end, it has an Auburn posi-traction unit, and 3.73 gears. I have driven the car on lots of long trips up to this point, and now it needs that engine service/rebuild. Suspension/Brakes:Suspension in rear was redone and is excellent, I was waiting on the front end as I was planning to upgrade and go to an aftermarket set up. Because the car is a low mile original numbers matching car, I opted to just keep it as is. The bushings and shocks need to be replaced. although the car drives fine now, just the squeaks you get when things are beginning to wear out. It looks like they are all original, so they are overdue for replacement. Brakes work great although they are manual drum. Interior: The interior is all original, meaning the seats are OK, but tired and worn. They look to be the original and the prior owner stated they were. The carpet is also OK, and looks to be original, but could use replacement if this was going to be a show car. The dash has a water temp gauge installed in the proper location, but it is a non-original item. Obviously necessary in Arizona. Dash is in nice overall but has one of the match original grain covers on it. Don't know what it looks like underneath. What it needs: If you want a restored GTO this is not it. It runs, but now needs a rebuild due to the sound coming from the motor. Compression is good, this is isolated to the lower end of the engine and is most likely a bad rod bearing noise. As for what I believe I would do first if I were to keep the car: Engine rebuild, Replace the front bushings, and repaint the car a different color, add a 4 spd and power windows. The manual window tracks get worn, and one on passenger side rear is hard to manage and has difficulty going up and down properly. That of course is all big bucks so that is why I am selling. Despite his body kit being extremely rare and expensive in the United States, it makes his car look childish and ridiculous; which is the main point. Still remaining mostly stock, this Hyundai was mainly given superficial upgrades. Underneath the Veil Side body kit is a basically new Hyundai Tiburon 2.0L coupe. Included in the body kit are a front splitter, side skirts, hood, rear splitter, spoiler, and various other small pieces. Veil Side is a Japanese tuning house, which rarely is seen outside the Japanese market. They are known for very high quality carbon fiber body kits and as a result has produced a cult-like following in Japan. Included with the kit are body matched orange headlight cowls that give a more aggressive profile. Since this car was mainly used as a prop in Entourage the paint and body panels are in great condition with no noticeable imperfections. Never pictured during the show are the stickers from all of the vendors that contributed to the build, which now are placed on the car. Taking a step inside Lloyd’s car “The Fast and the Furious” motif continues with color themed panels, racing seats, and massive stereo system. Replacing the stock Tiburon seats are cloth Sparco racing seats which are very comfortable and installed on the factory seat rails that allow seat position adjustment. Both seats are in very good condition, with only the driver’s seat bottom showing signs of use. The rear passenger seat was left stock and is virtually unused. Also the gear selector knob has been replaced with a Veil Side 5-speed knob. Body color matched interior trim pieces are placed around the center console and various other places; all are in great condition. Finally to complete the joke on Lloyd is the ridiculously loud sound system. A Kenwood touch-screen head unit with navigation and DVD capability allows the driver to control the massive sub-woofers and speakers located in the trunk. Once again orange paneling surrounds the twin sunk in Kicker amps, along with both huge Kicker sub-woofers. Combined, Lloyd’s sound system is loud enough to be picked-up on a microphone within a city block! Besides the listed upgrades the interior is stock Hyundai Tiburon. Mechanically the producers left Lloyd’s Tiburon mainly stock, with the exception of a cold air intake and larger muffler tips. The cold air intake is a stainless steel model by AEM, which gives the car added throttle response and more importantly, a healthier engine tone. Leaving the stock exhaust pipes with the Veil Side body kit would look even more ridiculous; to resolve this problem larger diameter mufflers and muffler tips were added to fill-in the rear splitter. However the exhaust noise does not seem to be any louder than stock, just a different look. Powered by a 16 valve 2.0 L 4-cylinder, the performance doesn’t match the exterior appearance. The performance difference between the actual performance and perceived performance only increases the humor of Lloyd driving this Tiburon. Finally black with a chrome lip Racing Hart wheels were placed on the car to continue the cars theme. Newer Toyo tires are mounted on the wheels and have plenty of tread life on them still.
