I was able to finance the vehicle to the buyer but was repossessed in its current condition. The buyer had the vehicle for little over a year and had one minor accident in the car. The pictures show the extent of the damage to the car (replaced door with OE replacement from another 280ZX, and some damage under the door). Vehicle runs good and has very strong inline 6 motor. This vehicle is not in perfect condition but can be a daily driver and was for me for more than 6 months when I owned it the first time. The car is a perfect starter project car for the winter months and get it ready for a spring drive around your favorite country roads! I am including all the items needed for your first tune up and a replacement pressure & return power steering line due to a small leak that was found ($400 Value by itself). I want to be as transparent as I can with this car, I am not interested in ripping anyone off, just want it to go to a person excited about the project ahead. This would also make a great 2nd Z for original parts for another project you may have already started. In its current condition I have seen many comparable sales that exceed $3 thousand dollars and the body is in bad condition or has many engine issues. Forced to sale before I can finish. This has the 3 speed Jatco automatic transmission and does shift smoothly through all gears. 138,795 original miles. What I've done recently: - Replaced intake / exhaust manifold gasket and hardware. - Repaired leak in exhaust down pipe with new flex pipe. - Replaced thermostat gasket.- Replaced alternator.- Replaced starter.- Replaced all 3 drive belts.- All new coolant hose.- Replaced fuel line.- Replaced ignition.- Replaced all vacuum hose (not the heater hoses though) with new silicone vacuum hose.- Brand new spark plugs.- Brand new spark plug wires.- Changed all fluids.- I have sanded through most of the 2 paint jobs that were applied. And scraped and sanded the old weather coating from under the doors and quarter panels. Not an easy task. - Tires have great tread. I will include new Zenon eurathane front air dam ($180 dollar value). The remaining gaskets in Felpro gasket kit.I have all the lights and covers and will box them up. Car starts right up and does run smoothly down the road. It does idle a little rough until it warms up though, but not too bad. It might fluctuate 50-75 rpm's, but smooths out when it warms up. No real rust anywhere underneath (some under rear bumper). Floors and panels are all in good shape.

I know the Air Conditioning doesn't work, front grille is there, (but there's a small part broken, but it's hard to notice), and the factory digital clock in the dash doesn't work either, Heater blows air, but it's warm, not hot (unsure of problem). 1980 280ZX GL purchased from original owner in '05. Beautiful inside and out. The radio did not work when I bought it, so I replaced with a piece of aluminum plate and fitted a Sony stereo and the power antenna switch into the original slot. Also, I had to charge the A/C when I got it and over the past years, it has leaked down. I haven't recharged it since I'm very 'protective' of what R12 I have left. You can convert it if you would like. I have put approximately 25K on it since I purchased it, and would not hesitate to drive it back in Oregon if need be. He put the tires on it for me since he knew I would be driving it 3000 miles back home and while not bad, they might be a concern (if driving to Oregon). The tread is still decent, but they are almost 10 years old. The ONLY issues I am aware of would be two rust spots (see pic) at the bottom edge of the windshield. As you can see, I removed the paint and coated with Rustoleum to prevent farther damage. Unless you stand right over the car, you won't see the spots. There are the 'normal' rock pecks and such from traveling. Only one at the left headlight assembly that I consider mentioning (see pic). The left rear interior corner material has pulled (see pic). Very normal for these cars. While not perfect, I would have to give this an 8 or 9 out of 10 in overall condition. It never fails to crank and NEVER fails to turn heads! I am not a dealer. I am a collector and need space. I hate to let it go, but must. The car is for sale locally, so sale might end unannounced. I DO NOT SELL INTERNATIONALLY. I WILL NOT SHIP this auto. There's only 3,470 miles on the odometer, and this well-documented Datsun seems frozen in time. Think about the 3,470 miles for a moment...someone bought a brand new, top-of-the-line sports car, and then barely drove it. A Florida car it's entire life, this car was sold new in Winter Haven, Florida and has only had two owners since new. The first owner, a woman, was given this car as an anniversary gift by her husband. Then, in 1992, they sold the car to well-known Z-Collector in the Tampa, FL area who still owns the car to this day. Our consignor reports this car has never had the T-tops taken out (until our photo shoot), and even more amazingly, no one has ever sat in the passenger seat! The car has been under car cover and stored away in his collection since 1992. There's no question that's the original dark brown metallic on the sleek surfaces of this 280ZX. In today's collector car world, there are prestigious awards given to cars like this one that almost seem like they were lost to history for decades and still have nearly impossibly low miles and appear showroom fresh. In fact, this one still carries all of its original chrome trim, the doors close with the same authority as a new car, and even the rubber surrounding the T-top still looks watertight. With great handling and a balanced chassis, this 1982 Datsun 280ZX 2+2 provides a low-cost way into a pretty capable sports car that can still put a big grin on the driver's face. By looking at this car, you'd never really know that it has already passed its 30th birthday. Thanks to the bright silver color, which we believe is its original paint, it still looks sleek and contemporary and not nearly as dated as some of the other cars built in the early '80s. Typical of Japanese manufacturers of the period, build quality is quite good with sharp gaps and pieces that fit properly, and the paint job is holding up rather well, suggesting great care since it was new. Without stripes or add-ons like a rear wing, the car retains the clean look of the original Z-car, which itself was often compared to the E-Type Jaguar; heady company indeed. The bumpers are well-integrated into the overall design and black body side moldings add some contrast as well as being practical. The black anodized trim and rubber pieces strongly suggest a car that has always been well-maintained and kept out of the elements, and even the taillights are still bright and clear. The gray cloth interior shows a few hints of 1980s sensibility, but the bucket seats remain supremely comfortable for long hauls and supportive for aggressive maneuvers. No rips or tears in the seating surfaces are another sign of careful ownership and the original carpets remain in good shape thanks to the protection of matching embroidered floor mats. Instrumentation is traditional Z, with a big speedometer and tach for the driver and auxiliary gauges in the center of the dash, a look that still shows up in today's 370Z. Just about everything was standard on the 280ZX, including A/C, power windows, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo that was still pretty cutting-edge in 1982. The 2+2 models offered a modest rear seat that's good for kids or adults on short trips, and there's a good amount of storage space under the rear hatch, which also offers a full set of gray carpets that are in remarkable condition. The 2.8 liter inline-six provides silky smooth torque and a rorty sound that is definitely reminiscent of great sports cars from Europe. Thanks to fuel injection, it starts easily and pulls smoothly without getting fussy, and despite the complex-looking engine bay, these cars are rather easy to work on and parts are still plentiful. There are no obvious modifications and it drives like a stocker, so someone has definitely taken care of it along the way and the clean look speaks highly of the dedicated maintenance it has enjoyed. A 3-speed automatic transmission makes it easy for anyone to drive and doesn't dilute the experience one bit, as the suspension still grabs in corners and has a playful, tossable nature that only rear-wheel-drive sports cars can manage. Big disc brakes, a burly exhaust note, and handsome 6-spoke alloys with 195/70/14 Michelin radials all contribute to the entertainment factor. The day is surely coming when good Z-cars will make the A-list, but in the meantime, you'll be having too much fun behind the wheel to worry about it.
