Up for sale in the Houston showroom is a pretty rare pickup, the 1965 Dodge D100 Custom. The D Series truck for sale is a line of pickup trucks sold by the Dodge division of American automaker Chrysler from 1961 to 1980. After 1980, the trucks were renamed the Dodge Ram and the same basic design was retained until the 1994 introduction of a completely redesigned Ram. The D Series shared its AD platform with the Dodge Ramcharger/Plymouth Trailduster twins. Powered by a humongous array of optional power plants from the 170ci slant 6 to the 426ci Wedge engine, actually in 1964 saw introduction of the sporty Custom Sports Special. The Custom Sports Special included bucket seats, console, carpeting and racing stripes. The optional High Performance Package could be ordered with a CSS truck or by itself on a base model truck complete with Chrysler\'s big 426 cu in wedge-head V8 this one still retains its survivor 318ci V8. A 727 Torq Flite backs the peppy engine and a cool thing about that is the shifter is on the dash. Not too many came with that option. The 1970 Dodge Super Bee is rare, fast, and has one of the most unique styles to come from Detroit's days of street domination. The styling for 1970 was pretty unique for this one model year. The super-hot Super Bee packaged muscle cars had a seriously mean appearance with the wide dual grille, that truly looked a bit like bumble bee wings. These separated grilles were the perfect complement to the optional hood with dual Ramcharger scoops. Straight bodywork is especially critical on the fuselage styled cars, and you can see from the unbroken curves on this one's flanks that the bodywork was done well. These Mopars had a long list of fun and funky paint options, but arguably none were better than this Sub-Lime green that nearly glows in the dark. It looks great today thanks to a restoration with only a couple hundred miles on it. This one has all the great details, such as the Super Bee black striping, rear spoiler, aggressive red rear panel surround, and the Super Bee mascot properly placed all around the coupe. Black is beautiful, and that's what this interior offers. The driver and passenger get high back vinyl bucket seats that are a nice reminder that the Dodge Coronet that the Super Bee was based on was an all-day cruiser. The rest of the interior is fresh and clean, which makes it all feel like a 1970s time capsule. In fact, there is one original piece that makes these manual transmission Super Bees especially desirable. The pistol-grip shifter is an icon today, and the first thing everyone checks for when they see Mopar muscle arrive at any car show. Of course, the practical side of this is that you have the best control for getting the most power out of your muscle car. Also just to make sure you have all the right info about what's going on under the hood, a new set of Auto Meter water temperature and oil pressure gauges are mounted under the dash. You've already seen those racing hood pins on the front of this car, and you already know Super Bees only came with serious power, so you must know that this coupe doesn't disappoint. The 383 cubic-inch big block V8 does a good job of filling every inch of the very tidy engine bay. It is painted in the correct shade of Hemi Orange, and as you can tell from the state of all the components, the powerplant has had a lot of service and care. While the pistol-grip shifter looks great in the interior, its functional side is as part of the four-speed manual transmission. The optional extra gear is not only nice to spread out the powerband, but it also give this coupe extra legs as a long-distance cruiser. The latter is helped even further by the power steering. But no matter where you go, the new dual exhaust will announce your speedy arrival with a great tune. Mopars are already some of the rarest muscle cars on the scene, and this coupe is one of the scarcest Dodges around. The paint says, "Look at me!" but the low production numbers and throaty exhaust screams, "You will remember me!" At the front of the car, a body-width, silver trimmed grille hangs a bright red "R/T" emblem and clear headlights above a good looking, body-width chrome bumper and clear, round parking lights. Above that grille, the car's smooth yellow hood, which wears two functional hood scoops that have been trimmed in chrome and branded with subtle "Hemi" emblems, give the front a very aggressive look. Regardless if you choose to have the black soft top up or down, the car has an absolutely incredible look, especially under our showroom lights. Down the sides of the body, the original sheetmetal is in near perfect condition. A pristine driver's side mirror and cool fender mounted side scoops in front of a black R/T stripe add to the overall vintage look. And at the back of the car, a satin black rear valence centers factory fresh tail lights between pristine "Dodge" and "R/T" decklid emblems, a second body-width chrome bumper, and rectangular stainless steel exhaust tips. Pop the hood and you'll reveal a period correct 426 Hemi living and breathing from within the yellow engine wearing a correct 2468330 casting number. The incredible engine was rated to produce 425hp at 5000RPM and could do 0-60 in 6.1 seconds straight from the factory! On top of the engine, a functional Ramcharger hood feeds air through a massive air filter that wears the Hemi name. From there, dual 4-barrel carburetors provide the engine with an air fuel mixture to create the 425hp. Spent gasses travel out cast iron headers through dual exhausts with an H-pipe that exit out the back of the car to create the legendary roar of a Hemi. In front of the engine is a correct 26" radiator that is responsible for cooling the massive power plant. From underneath this incredible machine you can see just how cared for it has been its entire life. At the front, you'll find the familiar Hemi orange block resting behind a torsion bar front suspension that is equipped with an anti-sway bar. Bolted to the Hemi is an A833 4-speed manual transmission that sends power to a Dana 60 rear-end that, thanks to the A34 Super Track Package, is equipped with 4.10 gears to give the Hemi a bit more leap off the line. Front disc and rear drum brakes are responsible for slowing the Coronet. While in front of those brakes are 15" Chrome Magnum 500 rims that have been wrapped in Goodyear F-70 rubber. This Coronet's fender tag says it was originally equipped with a P6X premium black vinyl interior; and thanks to the restoration, today it still looks like it hasn't seen any road time. At the bottom of the seats, black carpet props a Hurst chrome shifter out of the floor to control the 4-speed. The car's dash hangs fully rebuilt gauges, which include an optional tachometer, beside an original 2-watt Chrysler Solid State AM radio sporting Chrysler's cool thumb-wheel knobs. At the sides of the seats, correct door panels hang armrests under fresh stainless trim and wood applique. And behind the cockpit, a fully restored trunk props a full-size spare tire between a reproduction mat and a correct lid decal. The cockpit is a very luxurious place to log miles from. Adding to the appeal of this rare muscle car is just how well documented the car is. As we mentioned before, the sale includes an extensive appraisal from Galen Govier, copy of original window sticker, and a copy of appraisal from E. Edward Lucas II. Both appraisals that accompany this car show it appraised for north of $200,000, but you can add rarity to your collection for much less with this '69 Hemi Coronet R/T. Galen Govier certified 1-of-1 MOPAR, matching-numbers big block, 4-speed manual transmission, Track Pack, an awesome color combination, and a restoration that's so fresh you can still smell the paint. And even at this price, it has to represent some kind of bargain for this much performance. With just 29 miles on the restoration, it should and does look like a million bucks. The Y2 paint is simply called "Yellow" and we can't argue with how it looks. It's not an in-your-face bright color, but a little softer shade that seems all the more appealing when it's plastered all over one of the nastiest muscle cars of the era. The sheetmetal was expertly prepped prior to a drop of paint being sprayed, and while the gaps are better than they were from the factory, a bit of tweaking would make them nearly perfect. The smooth hood carries a pair of hood scoops that were a Chrysler trademark during the muscle car era and the black bumblebee stripe reminds onlookers that this isn't merely a pretty 1960s ragtop but a pretty gnarly piece of hardware. R/T badges were installed as appropriate and the chrome bumpers are in excellent shape. The black bucket seat interior shows off a few desirable upgrades that suggest the original owner decided to splurge a little bit on his new Coronet. A center console for the 4-speed is the most obvious upgrade, and it also carries a full set of Rallye gauges including a Tick-Tock-Tach. Hurst provided a cue ball knob and shifter for the 4-speed gearbox and the factory AM/FM/8-track radio is fully functional and is a very rare find all by itself. Seat covers, door panels, and the carpets are new and ready for show, demonstrating that upscale muscle definitely has its appeal. There's a black power convertible top overhead and the Coronet is one of the few ragtops that looks great top up or top down, and it, too, was recently installed. The trunk is correctly outfitted with a reproduction mat and a full-sized spare tire. The 440 cubic inch powerplant under that twin-snorkel hood is the original, numbers-matching 440 cubic inch V8 that many would argue is the best choice in a muscle Mopar for guys who like to drive. Rebuilt and detailed for show, complete with a functioning Ramcharger cold air induction system, it's plenty powerful and throws this big convertible around like it weighs 800 pounds less than it does. Correct details throughout the engine bay include hoses and clamps, fasteners, and those wonderful cast iron exhaust manifolds that flow just as well as headers. Interestingly enough, it's got manual steering and brakes, suggesting that performance was paramount when the order sheet was being filled out, and to be honest, you probably won't miss them even with that big chunk of iron sitting over the front axle. It's equipped with a 4-speed manual that has quick throws and powers a robust Dana 60 rear end with 3.54 gears on a Sure Grip limited slip, which was mandatory equipment with the 4-speed. It's also got the Track Pack option, which adds a few upgrades that most drivers will find useful. Finally, it's got a set of butch-looking black steel wheels like the A12 cars and they're wrapped in 225/70/15 BFGoodrich redline radials for a period look. Beautifully restored, incredibly rare, and with a very strong pedigree, this investment-grade Mopar is the kind of car that major collections are built around. Matching-numbers big block, 4-speed manual transmission, Track Pack, an awesome color combination, and a restoration that's so fresh you can still smell the paint. And even at this price, it has to represent some kind of bargain for this much performance. With just 29 miles on the restoration, it should and does look like a million bucks. The Y2 paint is simply called "Yellow" and we can't argue with how it looks. It's not an in-your-face bright color, but a little softer shade that seems all the more appealing when it's plastered all over one of the nastiest muscle cars of the era. The sheetmetal was expertly prepped prior to a drop of paint being sprayed, and while the gaps are better than they were from the factory, a bit of tweaking would make them nearly perfect. The smooth hood carries a pair of hood scoops that were a Chrysler trademark during the muscle car era and the black bumblebee stripe reminds onlookers that this isn't merely a pretty 1960s ragtop but a pretty gnarly piece of hardware. R/T badges were installed as appropriate and the chrome bumpers are in excellent shape. The black bucket seat interior shows off a few desirable upgrades that suggest the original owner decided to splurge a little bit on his new Coronet. A center console for the 4-speed is the most obvious upgrade, and it also carries a full set of Rallye gauges including a Tick-Tock-Tach. Hurst provided a cue ball knob and shifter for the 4-speed gearbox and the factory AM/FM/8-track radio is fully functional and is a very rare find all by itself. Seat covers, door panels, and the carpets are new and ready for show, demonstrating that upscale muscle definitely has its appeal. There's a black power convertible top overhead and the Coronet is one of the few ragtops that looks great top up or top down, and it, too, was recently installed. The trunk is correctly outfitted with a reproduction mat and a full-sized spare tire. The 440 cubic inch powerplant under that twin-snorkel hood is the original, numbers-matching 440 cubic inch V8 that many would argue is the best choice in a muscle Mopar for guys who like to drive. Rebuilt and detailed for show, complete with a functioning Ramcharger cold air induction system, it's plenty powerful and throws this big convertible around like it weighs 800 pounds less than it does. Correct details throughout the engine bay include hoses and clamps, fasteners, and those wonderful cast iron exhaust manifolds that flow just as well as headers. Interestingly enough, it's got manual steering and brakes, suggesting that performance was paramount when the order sheet was being filled out, and to be honest, you probably won't miss them even with that big chunk of iron sitting over the front axle. It's equipped with a 4-speed manual that has quick throws and powers a robust Dana 60 rear end with 3.54 gears on a Sure Grip limited slip, which was mandatory equipment with the 4-speed. It's also got the Track Pack option, which adds a few upgrades that most drivers will find useful. Finally, it's got a set of butch-looking black steel wheels like the A12 cars and they're wrapped in 225/70/15 BFGoodrich redline radials for a period look. Beautifully restored, incredibly rare, and with a very strong pedigree, this investment-grade Mopar is the kind of car that major collections are built around. This 1970 Dodge Super Bee was rotisserie restored by Magnum Auto Restoration and completed in 2013. The car has it's numbers matching 440 6 pack motor and 18 spline hemi 4 speed transmission. It also has the original 3.54 geared dana rear axle that was also rebuilt. All of the mechanicals are completely rebuilt. The motor was built and dynoed by Opel Engineering in Streamwood,IL and the original 4 speed transmission was rebuilt by Passion Performance. The carbs are the original ones with the correct part numbers and date codes. the correct 956 radiator, exhaust manifolds, intake manifold, etc. are all on the car. the only deviation from stock is the addition of Mopar Electronic ignition system in place of the original dual point distributor. We did hide the ignition box so it is hard to see. The body is in excellent condition with the correct per the original fender tag FC7 Plum Crazy Purple paint being flawless. There are no defects in the paint or body work. All of the stainless has been straightened and buffed to perfection. The bumpers have been re chromed, all of the glass is new with Chysler Pentastar logos on them as they should. The vent window frames have been re chromed. The grilles are fully restored and have no breaks in them. The stripes are white just like the fender tag says it should be. As the fender tag calls for, this is an original N96 ramcharger hood car. The under hood air box is in very good condition. The under carriage of the car has the correct paint over spray over the correct dark gray primer. All of the suspension components have been painted to look like they should be. These were not painted with a spray can, theyhave been painted with a spray gun to last a very long time and not rust. All of the fasteners have been correctly painted in phosphate, zinc, and cadmium where they should be. The interior is all new from Legendary Auto Interiors. The gauges were rebuilt by Instrument Specialties. The dash bezels are all new. The dash frame and steering column have been painted in the correct suede finish. The wheels on the car are '450' clones. Many cars from 1970-71 with 15" steel wheels fail to go this far in the restoration. While they do not have the '450' part number stamped in them, they look identical. The tires are the correct Goodyear Polyglass GT F60-15 white letter tires. THE CAR STILL HAS IT'S ORIGINAL FENDER TAG!!!! All of the options called for on the fender tag are what is on this car, no additions. We have ownership history on this car all the way back to the original owner in 1970. The car was shown at the 2013 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals and won a concourse gold award! That tells you what kind of quality this car is. There are no excuses with this car, it is one of the best!
