To start with, let me first say that I am listing this modified Bill Frick 1957 Ford Thunderbird for a well-known classic and muscle car dealership and in doing so, I will be acting as an agent for this dealership. The owner, who is a friend and someone that I have known for over 20 years, founded his dealership in 1996 and has been a veteran of the car business for over 30 years. All of his vehicles are chosen for the highest standards and quality. A careful and complete analysis is done on every one before they offered for sale. If you want an honest and complete description via telephone, please feel free to call Roland at 603-361-3693. As an FYI, the modified Bill Frick 1957 Ford Thunderbird is located in Manchester, New Hampshire, just 15 miles from the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. I understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, for the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, I feel that there is never too much information. As to myself, I am not a dealer, just a (66) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I am retired from managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback which is 100% with (1,139) transactions. Many of those have been muscle cars which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland and Australia. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS ARE WELCOME WITH A DOWN PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL AND THE BALANCE VIA WIRE TRANSFER ONLY. Who was Bill Frick? Bill Frick was a gifted early model mechanic and fabricator many years before the term "Hot Rodders" was used. Well known in the late 40s by his custom engine conversion packages out of a little shop in Long Island NY. In 1950, when the new 331 V8 OHV overhead valve Cadillac engine was introduced, he offered a conversion package to swap with the 1950 Ford flat head engine which would increase the horsepower tremendously. It earned the name Fordillac, which became famous among the early gear head "hot rodders". In 1953, the same 331-V8 Cadillac engine was offered for the engine consumption in the Studebaker for $1,500, also known as the Studellac. The Studellac was capable of speeds of 125mph and accelerated form 0-60 in 8.5 seconds. Bill Frick Motors Inc. was an exclusive distributor of Kieft Sport Cars, exclusive Long Island dealer for Allard Motor cars, an MG and Morris Minor dealer. He was involved in building race cars and partnered with Ted Tappett, who then became a well-known racer in the Lemans 24 hour race circuit. Also, Bill Frick Motors was heavily involved in Nascar. The Frick-Tappett conversion Cadillac engine in a Ford made them famous among the performance gear heads, claiming up to 25mpg at cruising speed and 0-80mph in 15 seconds. Very sophisticated for their time, Bill Frick built a tubular air craft design chassis in the 1949 using a Cadillac 331-V8 which they called the "Le Monstre". It ran in Lemans and was driven by Phil Walters, known as Ted Tappett and placed in 7th, according to our research. Well known Briggs Cunningham was involved on the financial side of Bill Frick Motors Inc. and also drove the "Le Monstre". Interestingly enough, the car is still shown today. A private collector owns the car and shows it at car shows such as Lime Rock CT. Here is the information on this wicked, super rare modified Bill Frick 1957 Ford Thunderbird: This unique single family owned thunderbird is straight from an estate, stored since 1999 in dry storage. According to our research, this is a very unique and rare example of one of Bill Frick's conversions. There were only three (3) Thunderbirds built by Bill Frick Motors, however, only one which had the Pontiac 389ci engine. When the car was purchased new in Lowell MA, the owner of the car was a big time drag racer. He wanted to build a car that would blow the doors off anyone who would come against him. He sent the car to Bill Frick, in Rockville Centre NY, for a performance upgrade and engine swap. Originally, a special dual McCulloch blower set up was installed with a special panel for the blower solenoids. However, the Paxton McCulloch system was aborted and sent back to Paxton and the car ended up with an Offenhauser aluminum dual quad intake topped off with two Carter 4-barrel carburetors. Bill Frick Motors gave a $500 credit to the 312 V8. Also, some modifications had to be done to the hood of the car to make provisions for the dual supercharger system. Three bulge style tear drops were dollied by hand and refinished in black lacquer. In the final version, Bill Frick Motors used a modified 1959 Pontiac engine. When owned by Al Ornella of Jack and Al’s Esso in Lowell Massachusetts, Al would gladly race any takers but not before the challenger put down $500. This was Al’s minimum bet before he would even start up his T-Bird. For the record, it was said that Al was never beaten in any of these races. It is our understanding that only three of these conversions were completed by Bill Frick and this particular 1957 T-Bird is the only one left of the original three. We clay barred the exterior and it came back beautifully but we think it's best to preserve the originality of this car as a true time capsule without changing too much. Super clean exterior body and paint. Looking over this rare example, the car has a solid original body with no signs of any rust or repair what so ever. The exterior body of this car is perfectly straight with no ripples, dings or dents. There is a light patina in the lacquer in some areas of the car. In the front header area, near the driver's side light, you will notice the paint has flaked off in that area. Also, some lacquer cracking appears around that area as well. Other exterior notes of interest are: · The chrome bumpers are original and are considered excellent condition; · The glass is also original to the car and is excellent throughout; · Bright work, emblems, front grille, headlamps, tail light bezels are all excellent; · The original paint in areas of the trunk, hood and door jambs have a nice clean appearance; · The weather strip is original with no signs of being dried, cracked or weathered; · The doors, hood and rear deck lid open and close perfectly with proper alignment to all of those areas as well; · The windows roll up and down effortlessly; · The factory continental kit and trunk area is solid and original with the spare tire, jack assembly and trunk mat considered to be in fair condition; · White Side Wall tires with factory hub caps; · Hard top with port-hole windows that has excellent glass and a nice original white headliner. The door panels and instrument cluster are in great shape. The dash board is original with no cracks. WILL SELL WORLDWIDE ART DECO ROCKET AGE INSPIRED ! 10 DAYOPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE ONE OF THE MOSTDYNAMIC & MAGNETIC PRE-WAR & ALL STEEL BODY ART DECO FORD SPEEDSTERSEVER BUILT THE 1929 "SKIPIT III" This hottie is no trailer queen, she'll let you hop right in and is always ready to get "down and dirty". Drive 'er hard!! My car is presently, and has been stored indoors in Rochester, New Hampshire where she has spent the winter in storage. I will hesitantly offer my 1929 Ford Model A "Skipit III" Speedster for sale on eBay for a one time 10 day auction, and if it doesn't sell the first time around, I will ship her home to Key West, Florida that I may enjoy her throaty idle and wonderful curves in the balmy, sticky Key West sun this summer and try to fight off the shutter bugs from pilfering pictures and selfies of my sexy iron maiden!! And after a sweaty, delightful afternoon of manhandling her, she'll never complain when you just leave her somewhere, anywhere, and like every "dream girl" she's never hard to find, right there waiting where you left her being admired by a small crowd of about 10-15 people posing excitedly and snapping "selfies" with phone cameras, 'cause she's the center of attention wherever she goes and no ego too. Almost as good as a lobotomized and passive Kim Kardasian (who wouldn't be titillated by the potential excitement of that kind of uncontentious companionship?) I am admittedly indecisive about separating from her so you eBayers out there probably won't have another opportunity to "court" this salacious, sexy crowd pleaser in the fall because south Florida is home to some of the finest car collections/collectors in the world and it's here she'll remain once she's shipped home. ALL STEEL BODY (EVEN THE TAIL FIN) This is a rare opportunity to acquire a very, VERY unusual and beautiful Art Deco inspired and rendered, all-steel body 1929 Model A Ford Speedster that will steal the attention and crowds away from half million dollar Ferarri's and Lamborghini's at ANY car show. Nothing at a car show pisses off a high-end exotic car owner more than to be slotted next to a uniquely designed and economically priced Speedster that costs about as much as a Ferrari tool kit (yes, some vintage Ferrari tool kits costs over $25,000) steal throngs of gawkers away from the half million dollar exotic cars! I know because I see it happen ALL THE TIME! This truly amazing speedster body was designed and built by the inimitable Paul Normand, a world renowned Speedster stylist and veteran master automobile fabricator from New England who has built more than 40 museum quality automotive masterpieces in his nearly 40 year career of building imaginative vintage collector automobiles. Mr. Normand is well known in the hand-fabricating world of custom Speedster/Roadster coachwork and he builds only ONE car in the winter of each year. I have offered him a very lucrative commission to construct a massive speedster body on my hulkish 1921 La France chain driven fire truck chassis and he kindly responded "I don't take commissions". Mr. Normand embodies the creative spirit and commitment of every great artist and is not motivated by money to envision, design and create cars, he only builds cars that he wants to see created. Trust me, books will be written about this legendary custom Roadster/Speedster builder one day!! His cars are voraciously gobbled up by deep pocketed collectors worldwide and world class auction venues like Mecum and Barrett Jackson has sold his cars in the past with astonishing results. Opportunities to acquire Mr. Normand's automotive artwork are dwindling as it is my understanding that Mr Normand is over 70 years of age. In the very strange consumer age where mundane, mass produced kit cars can now cost upwards $100,000, (AC Cobra Replicas) it is becoming increasingly difficult to find old world artisans who can manually hammer; bend; manipulate and weld steel skin over buck molds to create unique and beautiful car bodies as was executed in the golden age of the custom automobile of the Streamlined Art Deco period of the 1920's and 30's. This has been professionally accomplished here with the wonderful and whimsical "SKIPIT III". The drive train is an all original 1929 Ford Model A (which it is titled) and powered by an inline smooth running 4 cylinder Ford engine. The "SKIPIT III" is outfitted with 16" super rare 1950's Cragar spinner Hubcaps and chrome beauty rings and has been outfitted just this winter with a brand new custom interior that will last for decades. It is a relatively simple car to own, enjoy and maintain as there are many early Ford Speedster collector car forums and clubs. Friendly professional advice is just a few clicks away with your computer mouse. As far as investment potential, Speedsters as beautiful and unique as the "SKIP IT III" will always find impassioned and aggressive buyers as unique cars are really just an extension of a well expressed personality and fabulous collector automobiles such as the "SKIP IT III" accomplish that goal quite effortlessly and have no price comparisons and this car BELIEVE ME, will delight and excite certain personalities. This year the SKIPIT III may sell for around $24,000 and in the next 3 years it could easily bring $35,000. There is no depreciation for this Art Deco Speedster automotive masterpiece (or any unique automotive masterpiece). And when is the last time you have seen an Art Deco inspired Ford Speedster?? Perhaps you can find a dozen fabulous examples in the membership cars of the Northwest Vintage Speedsters in Portland, Oregon but these cars are almost NEVER offered for sale outside of the membership base and if one were to be offered, plan to spend upwards $45-50K for such an example. My car perfectly embodies the Art Deco "Rocket Age" of Speedsters and will make an interesting extension to an extra ordinary personality. If she tickles your fancy don't hesitate, because you WON'T be finding another Ford Speedster with this much distinction and value at this price!!! I am currently listing two very desirable and unusual pre war Speedsters on eBay, and depending on which one sells first, I may end up keeping the other. Please take a look at all of the pictures and email if you have any questions or trade propositions. This car has a clear New Hampshire title. Thank you for your interest and thanks for reading. Please check out my other Speedster that I am listing on eBay Just click on seller's other items to view my cars
