That's what makes this Ford Model A replica so appealing. It might look like an 86-year-old classic, but beneath the vintage appearance is a more modern drivetrain and desirable features. The people at Glassic only produced a small number of Model A replicas. In fact, there were less than 1,800 estimated built over a 15-year run, and less than 350 of this particular model. The durable fiberglass body means this one still looks great after years of Saturday parades and Sunday drives. The red paint even still has the right kind of luster to attract attention even in a crowded parking lot. This one has all the great elements you love in a classic Model A, including the upright grille, running boards, chrome luggage rack w/trunk, and the spare wheels mounted in the fender like the Deluxe models. But this is no ordinary Model A reproduction. Glassic took advantage of some upgrades to Ford's iconic design. This includes larger doors and 15-inch wire wheels, both of which make this convertible feel more practical without effecting the vintage feeling. Your first look at the interior, and you would not immediately notice this is a replica. The brown leather seats and matching door trim are very well presented. And this one also gets the details right from the wind wings on the side of the windshield to the fantastic rumble seat. But then you slip into the driver's seat and find a more comfortable wheel than an original Model A. There's a full gauge package in place, which is always a welcomed sight. You even have an AM/FM/CD stereo so you can choose between 1930s flapper music or more modern tunes for your road trips. It doesn't even have to be a sunny day drive with the included heater and full top/curtain package. The true feeling of reliability comes into play the moment you open the hood. Glassic utilized the motor from the International Harvester Scout 800. This four-cylinder provides plenty of pep, especially when compared to the original four-cylinder A's. It fires up it ease, and the maintenance is hand tool simple. It's not just the engine that's upgraded. The entire underpinnings were borrowed from the Scout, which includes the three-speed manual transmission as well as the hardy chassis and suspension. So in the end, you have a classic roadster that looks great but drives substantially better. There's no greater feeling than cruising down the road in a true classic that sounds authentic right down to the "Aoooga!" horn. And now you do that with a confidence thanks to a more modern vehicle. But the Glassics are becoming rare, so call today!!! 1932 Ford Roadster for Sale 1932 Ford Roadster for Sale Stock # 0154-TPA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] Tampa Showroom 4610 Pet Lane Lutz, FL 33559 Local/International: (813) 501-1630 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. It's a freshly built '32 Ford roadster with just 1286 shake-down and test miles on it. Obviously someone built their dream car, but something changed and here it is. Well, their loss is your gain, and you have a chance to own a brand-new, turn-key rod with a built 350, overdrive transmission, and an awesome look, all without the wait to build your own. The body is Brookville, so no real 1932 Ford roadsters were harmed in the construction of this gorgeous hi-boy roadster. If you're into hot rods, basic black has been a staple for years and looks simply amazing on the Ford's vintage shape. Fit and finish is spectacular, with beautiful gaps, super smooth body panels, and a gloss as deep and as black as a pool of oil. They went full traditional on the build, too, including a raked-backed roadster windshield, shaved door handles with exposed hinges, and round Pontiac taillights out back (although these are modern LED units). When you see it in person, you'll probably fall in love and you should prepare yourself for stoplight conversations from folks who want to know all about it. A billet insert in a '32 Ford shell along with chrome spreader bars gives the front end a familiar look, while the oversized headlights make this one distinctive. As an open car, leather upholstery is probably a smart choice when it comes to comfort and durability, and the traditional-looking bench seat wears beautiful tan hides that are handsome as well as practical. Matching tan door panels with vertical pleats are period-correct and tan carpets on the floor tie it all together nicely. The instrument panel is filled with classic white-faced Stewart Warner gauges with elegant art-deco pointers and a vintage font, and we like the leather face on the dash, which makes it feel elegant, not raw. A tilt column topped by a 4-spoke wheel makes it fairly easy to get comfortable, and the 700R4 4-speed automatic is managed by a Lokar shifter that's period-perfect. There's no rumble seat in this one, but rather a fairly spacious and usable trunk which has been fully upholstered to match the interior. There's also a nice-fitting black canvas top that not only helps with protection, but looks awesome doing it. With about 1900 pounds to haul around, the performance of the built 350 cubic inch V8 is explosive. It's got the usual components, including an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and a set of block-hugging headers, but the point in a car like this isn't all-out horsepower, it's balance. It starts quickly and easily, idles nicely, and pulls hard, especially considering the lightweight body it's pulling. Of course, it's dressed in lots of chrome and polished aluminum trim and sits low in the chassis for improved handling. The headers feed a custom exhaust system that sounds like history, and the chassis has been painted and detailed to match the body. Neither the front nor rear suspensions reinvent the wheel, offering a dropped I-beam up front and trailing arms on the 3.70-geared 9-inch out back. Front disc brakes are a good idea on something that generates this much speed, and they look great behind those vintage alloys with 155/80/15 front and 285/70/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials. Fully sorted with just test and tune miles, this Deuce is ready to rock. Better yet, it's titled as a 1932 Ford, so no hassles when you get it home. Why build your own, this one is available right now! The only problem is, you're going to spend way to much time and a pile of cash building one on your own. So, when you can find a great one like this, with less than 3,000 miles since completion, for far less than the price to built it, well, then you know the smart money is on the choice you can take home today. The fiberglass body comes from the people at Rat's, and despite the name, you can easily tell they know how to build a quality animal. Everything fits and flows together perfectly. This includes the highly detailed areas like where the steel hood meets the body, the fenders connect under the grille, and the flush rear roll pan. It also gets the custom details right with the shaved door handles, chopped windshield, suicide doors, and even the pinup girl on the trunk to give this classic hot rod appeal. Despite this smooth and slick appearance that comes from the bold yellow, there is some room for chrome accents on places like the headlight housing, tailpipes, and of course, the Cragar wheels with Ford spinners. The interior is surprisingly roomy for you and your gal (or guy), with cushy leatherette, and enough space to spread out your legs. The weave pattern on the seats is repeated on the door panels. In fact, the matching tan material, flush mount on the doors, and the small size of the interior handles all give this a custom wraparound effect, almost like there are no doors at all. This ultra cool setup also has safety measures, where the alarm system will also tell you if these doors aren't latched. When you slip into the driver's seat, you're greeted by a sports steering wheel with the Ford V8 logo boldly etched in the center. Beyond that is a full set of classic style AutoMeter gauges to keep you aware of everything going on in the engine bay. Take a look under the hood, and you'll be pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the 350 cubic-inch small-block. This hot rod has the iconic three-duce carburetor setup. These classic carbs look particularly unique against the more modern features such as the purple plug wires, and Chevrolet Performance valve covers. But beyond just having show-stopping looks, this one has some serious power to bring to the streets. The motor was built around 2,800 miles ago with a hydraulic cam, roller rockers, and headers. You can hear the wicked growl this V8 makes, but we invite you to take a closer look. The undercarriage photos not only show you the clean appearance of the yellow frame and underbody, but you see some seriously desirable components. This includes the A-arm front independent suspension, aluminum driveshaft, and the four-link coilover rear. Combine this with the large front disc brakes, and TH350 three-speed automatic, and this hot rod is an easy choice to take out anytime. Your wild side will love this roadster's bold look and big power. Your practical side will love the build receipts and the price. So it's the perfect hot rod to satisfy all your needs. With a traditional chassis, a Chevy V8, and a look that recalls the long, sleek roadsters of the '30s, it's a rod that's a cut above the usual stuff. That distinctive "turtle deck" styling is 100% Model T roadster, and it is one of the simplest, yet most elegant shapes ever created. It also looks great surrounded with curvaceous fenders and fronted by an extra-long hood that gives the humble Model T a very sleek look. There's virtually no panel on this entire car that hasn't been customized or hand-fabricated to achieve a look, but the Ford DNA is undeniable in the final result. The long 1-piece hood starts at a highly modified '32 Ford grille shell with a stainless insert that gives it a very updated look. The fenders look like late Model T pieces, again modified to work with the longer front end, and with everything swathed in brilliant Lamborghini Orange paint with a ton of pearl in it, there's no denying that there was someone with a very clear mission at work here. Workmanship is impressive, so if you like the look, there's plenty to love about the build: the beautifully molded cowl that seamlessly blends the hood and the bodywork, the V-shaped windshield, and the fabricated rear bumper that looks like the push bars old Bonneville racers used to use. The interior is quite a bit more user-friendly that the usual Model T, with a wide bench seat that's comfortable and has plenty of room for two. Everything is wrapped in black alligator skin and orange leather, including the custom door panels, and it's carpeted to control noise and heat, both of which are critical in a roadster like this. A custom aluminum steering wheel lives on top of a polished tilt column, so it's easy to get comfortable in the driver's seat, and a full complement of white-faced Equus instruments offers a great view of what's going on up front. A mini console was fabricated for the custom shifter, which, in the low-slung roadster, falls easily to hand. In back, the trunk is fully upholstered in black carpet with a matching alligator skin insert on the deck lit itself. There's also a sizeable fuel cell, making this roadster a fantastic cruiser for longer drives. The engine is a rugged and reliable 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 that's been recently rebuilt and neatly dressed for show duty under the long hood of this T. Lots of chrome and polished aluminum glitter when you pop the 3-piece hood, and with a new Edelbrock 4-barrel carb, a Holley intake manifold, and a throaty dual exhaust system, it certainly drives like a hot rod. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission powers a 9-inch Ford rear end, which hangs on ladder bars and coil-overs. A dropped I-beam front suspension, complete with transverse leaf spring, gives it that vintage hot rod feel and there's a disc brake at each front corner. A set of flashy aluminum Torque Thrust wheels offers the traditional "big-n-little" combination with Goodyear radials up front and giant Pro-Trac donuts in back. Not quite a T-bucket, not quite a track T, and not quite a Model A or Deuce roadster, this is a wild combination with the right look and the right parts to simply be a ton of fun. How about this butch-looking 1934 cabriolet, which has the same awesome open-air vibe as the roadster, but with the protection of a folding top, roll-up windows, and windshield wipers that actually work. There's nothing subtle about this slick satin black rod, but that's entirely the point. Sure, the body is fiberglass, but the look is timeless, and everywhere you go, folks recognize the appeal of the 1934 Ford. From the pointed radiator shell and sweeping fenders to the raked-back windshield and smoothly tapered rear deck, there's something here that will appeal to everyone, and the fact that it's totally functional as a real car is something that most rods attempt, but not all achieve. Workmanship is quite good, and with fiberglass, it's easy to get great gaps and a solid feel, and with that satin black paint job, the shape simply speaks for itself. It features stock-style suicide doors with chrome handles, a custom grille insert in the pointed grille shell, and 1939 Ford taillights that have been smoothly integrated into the rear fenders. Red pinstripes add a classic old-school vibe with details on the hood louvers and in back, and they're matched by the red stripe in the stock-style chrome bumpers. Red cloth upholstery ties in with the bodywork, and offers more comfort in an open car than sticky vinyl or sweaty leather might. The stitching has a traditional look with pleats on the seats and simple door panels with billet hardware, and twin buckets make it easy for everyone to get comfortable. Old-school gauges from Ford Motorsport highlight the smooth dash, which roughly approximates the shape of the original 1934 design. With a tilt column and wood-rimmed wheel, it has a great look that's a bit upscale, which is right where the cabriolet was positioned when it was new. Lokar supplied the shifter, and if you want entertainment, it's all controlled by you right foot. Weather protection is provided by a snug-fitting white top with a decent-sized rear window (no blind spots!) and the trunk is neatly finished and perfect for, say, the Hot Rod Power Tour. But this rod is no poser. The engine is a freshly built 302-inch V8 bored .030 oversize fitted with all kinds of upgrades. A Cobra dress-up kit should look familiar to anyone who has ever driven a hi-po Ford before and it's entirely appropriate here. Ford Blue on the block looks great against the satin black bodywork and the overall look is serious and functional rather than over-done. Block-hugging headers dump into a custom-built dual exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers, so this sucker really cackles. The suspension is a Mustang II setup in front with power rack-and-pinion steering and disc brakes, while an 8.8-inch out back hangs on a Mustang trailing arm setup. There's also a 3-speed automatic transmission in the middle. It nails the perfect stance with painted steel wheels wearing skinny 205/70/14 front and fat 255/70/15 rear whitewall radials. Go ahead and enjoy the open road, this '34 Ford has you covered; it's ready to rock or to be taken to the next level. It's a recent build designed to emulate the way-out creations of the '60s, and with modern materials and quality, the effect is still just as stunning as it might have been 50 years ago. Built by Craig Smith and called "The Liberace," this fantastic '32 Ford roadster definitely has that old school customizer's vibe. It's based on a Rod & Race '32 Ford roadster body, in fiberglass of course, and has been fully customized the old school way. If there's a modification possible, this car probably has it, from being chopped, shaved and channeled, to the elimination of the doors (do you really need them when the car is less than three feet tall?), to reworking the beltline trim to make it look clean and sleek. Then there's the nose, which emulates some of the far-out creations of the '60s, giving The Liberace a very unique, one-off look. The paint is expertly done in pearl white with purple inserts and looks spectacular out in the sun. Other details include Frenched '59 Cadillac taillights, Mustang fog lights, and even a set of marker lights from a semi-truck, all working together to make this car totally unique. It's long, lean, low, and loud, which is exactly the point with a car like this. The interior is a tasteful blending of '60s sensibilities with modern comfort, as the bench seat was totally reworked to make this roadster comfortable for all-day cruises. On the other hand, the purple pleated vinyl inserts and side panels are totally old school, with sparkles just to reinforce the point. Black carpets keep it from being overwhelming and that '55 Chevy steering wheel was smoothed and painted to match the bodywork. The instrument panel, if you can call it that, is art more than function, with a center-mounted speedometer and auxiliary gauges in their own pod down out of sight. And nothing's cooler than cruising with your hand hanging from that tall Lokar shifter, complete with eyeball shift knob. Even the trunk is neatly finished in the same materials and offers remote charging posts for the hidden battery as well as a master cut-off switch. No radio, no heat, no top, no windows, just your back-to-the-60s rod that's all about fun. A 350 cubic inch GM crate motor provides about 270 horsepower, which is plenty in this flyweight roadster. The focus was on reliability, so they added a Pertronix ignition, Speedway polished Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor, and a set of gorgeous headers with Volkswagen Beetle stingers and baffles, so it's not overwhelming to drive long distances. Clearly the goal was to have a no-compromises old-school rod. Its backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and a 10-bolt rear, so highway cruising is truly effortless, and the entire box-section frame was custom made and painted to match the body. Simple transverse leaf springs at both ends do their job, along with chrome hairpins up front and ladder bars out back, the way they did it decades ago. Chrome kidney bean-style wheels are pure 1963 and carry bias-ply whitewalls, with the rears being vintage drag slicks. Too cool! This 1932 Ford hi-boy roadster is textbook tradition in every way. Great colors, impressive build quality, and plenty of performance mean this rod delivers an old school look with no compromises. A stripped-down roadster is the essence of speed, and this black '32 delivers that classic look from nose to tail. The body itself is fiberglass, but at this point, does it really matter? The lines are exact and the ultra-smooth bodywork is worthy of the black paint. Things like the hinges, door handles, and cowl lights have been shaved and the windshield was raked back a bit, all in the quest for style and speed. The half hood shows off the mechanicals underneath and there's a single red pinstripe to highlight the belt molding, a little detail that a lot of traditional hot-rodders embraced. The traditional '32 Ford grille is flanked by big '34 Ford commercial headlights and a chrome spreader bar, while the rear end is decorated with familiar teardrop-shaped '39 Ford taillights with LEDs inside. It's a look that's worked for decades and it'll never go out of fashion. It's pretty likely that few roadsters in the early days of hot rodding had interiors this beautifully finished. A contoured bench seat is wrapped in bright red vinyl with pleats, a classic look that extends to the door panels as well. Full carpets are a luxurious feature in any roadster and they're protected here by a set of custom-made floor mats. The instrument panel is a neat engine-turned piece full of big, bold Auto Meter gauges and the 3-spoke steering wheel has a vintage track racer vibe. It feels natural to rest your hand on the Lokar shifter and there are almost no signs of wear anywhere inside the car, a testament to the quality of the build. The trunk has still got a lot of space for road trips, despite being home to the gas tank and battery, all of which are beautifully upholstered to match the interior. Traditional horsepower comes in the form of a 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 crate motor with a bunch of smart upgrades. The block has 4-bolt mains, there's an upgraded Comp Cams camshaft, and roller rockers actuating the valves, and a 4-barrel carburetor supplying the mixture. It cackles like an old-school rod should thanks to block-hugging headers and mufflers with turn-downs ahead of the rear axle, but everything's tucked up nice and neat inside the frame. In fact, the frame itself is as well-finished as the bodywork, with glossy black paint and lots of prep work on the welds so it all looks like it's forged from one piece. The transmission is a quick-shifting TH350 3-speed automatic and it powers a beautifully finished Ford 9-inch rear with 2.79 gears inside, which is plenty when your car weighs 2000 pounds and has more than 300 horsepower. The suspension is traditional, with a dropped I-beam up front with a transverse spring, while out back it has a 4-link setup with coil-overs shocks. The only modern tech on the chassis is the 4-wheel disc brakes, which everyone can agree is a worthwhile upgrade. Red steelies wear trim rings and Ford hubcaps and the perfect big-n-little combination with 205/70/14 front and 285/70/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials. With only 3630 miles since it was completed, this is a fresh build of an old favorite that looks great and runs even better. This 1929 Ford roadster dates from the mid-60s and has just come off of a major restoration that returned it to as-built condition for a genuine taste of what it was like to go fast without a catalog full of parts. It's a steel body, not fiberglass, and it combines a 1929 Ford roadster body with a '32 Ford grille shell to create an iconic look. Well, the body isn't very stock, it's been channeled and sectioned to look low, and there's a very cool custom windshield with stanchions that give it a unique look. The bright red paint contrasts with a black deck and cowl, which helps it look even lower than it is, and quite honestly, the finish quality is probably light-years ahead of what it wore when it was first built. Clever details include filled fender wells, some shaved hardware, and 1950 Pontiac taillights built into the rear panel, which was a popular look then and even more so today. A black insert in the radiator shell ties it all together quite neatly and if you're a fan of exposed hardware and minimalist bodywork, this car delivers in a big way. Chrome King Bee-style headlights are about the only flashy parts on the entire car, and they work with the old-school look. You can see 1965 sensibilities inside, where button-tufted leather seats and side panels were all the rage. Perhaps most remarkably, everything inside the car save for the carpets is original, a testament to the care the car has received over the past five decades, never mind the high-quality workmanship that some upholstery shop delivered. I don't know where those pedestal-style buckets came from, but I like them, and with a wrap-around belt rail, the line between inside and outside the car is very blurry. Doors? We don't need no stinkin' doors, not when your car is this low and there is no roof; just jump in and go! A real wood dashboard is full of vintage Stewart-Warner gauges that give a full picture of the engine's health, and the only really modern piece is the leather-wrapped steering wheel, which uses a yellow marker at the top just like vintage race cars. There's also a small trunk out back, but most of it is filled with a new fuel cell and the remote-mounted battery. For power, this one uses a vintage 1965 Buick Nailhead. Displacing 425 cubic inches, this torque factory flings the featherweight roadster around like it was made of paper, and you'd better be sure you're pointed in the right direction when you crack the throttle. All eight barrels open up and the car lunges forward at any speed. The Nailhead is one of the cooler-looking engines, especially with those finned valve covers and it's certainly distinctive. Chrome headers dump into side pipes that sound outrageous on the go and the transmission is a genuine 4-speed manual feeding 4.11 gears in the Ford rear end. The ladder suspension and frame are basic, but that's this car's entire M.O., and thanks to the recent restoration, it's nicely detailed and ready to rock. Staggered whitewall tires on painted steelies complete the awesome retro look. History matters in the rodding community, and this car has loads of it. Nothing's more authentic than a car that's already been there, done that, so if you're tired of all the catalog cars out there, this is the antidote. This 1932 Ford was built with that in mind, starting with an original 1932 Ford firewall and creating an entire car around it! The body is steel, the finish quality is exceptional, and the look is right on. But it is the detailing that truly sets this one apart. There are rod shops that crank out '32 Fords like the factory did 80 years ago, one after the other, each identical to the last. This lovely burgundy roadster, however, shows the attention to detail that only comes from hand craftsmanship and sticking to your vision rather than just buying someone else's parts out of a catalog and bolting them on. Brookville is cranking out bodies made on Henry Ford's original tooling, so they're as accurate as you can get today, and when this one was assembled, all the factory-like finishing was left intact. That means factory-style seams and spot welds are visible, not hidden under filler, the hood snugs down with traditional latches, and the stance is exactly right. Finish quality is exceptional, but then again, you should expect it when you're starting with fresh, clean sheetmetal and building a car with a cost-no-object budget. There are 216 louvers in the 4-piece Rootlieb hood, the rear beltline was tweaked, and the gas tank was sectioned to better show off the quick-change rear end. Other traditional mods include '39 Ford taillights, a smoothed and filled radiator shell, and a set of painted spun brass headlights that are the only truly old parts on the car. The interior is traditionally styled but designed to be comfortable for long hauls. That gorgeous naugahyde wrapped seat actually started out as the third row in a Chrysler minivan, modified to fit and sitting on adjustable tracks so there's a surprising amount of room behind the wheel for a stock-bodied roadster. The dropped steering column is topped by a gorgeous 1940 Ford wheel and the carpets are custom tailored like a Saville Row suit. Simple gauges from Classic Instruments are arrayed across the dash with most of the secondary controls and switches hidden underneath. Features include a heater for those chilly night cruises and a chopped top that is removable and folds up tight tightly so the car can be enjoyed like a true roadster. The trunk was outfitted to the same standards, including some handy storage pockets and a custom box for the Optima battery. Like the rest of the car, the engine has an old-school look but modern performance hiding within. The small block Chevy is a 425HP crate motor punched out to 383 cubic inches, so acceleration is astounding in this lightweight roadster. Everything under the hood, from the air cleaner on the dual quads to the finned valve covers to the motor on the cooling fan has been polished or plated so it's definitely worthwhile to open the hood at shows. For fun, there's a Tremec TKO 5-speed manual gearbox, not the expected slushbox, and for that reason alone this is one special '32 Ford. The chassis was painted vivid red to contrast and show off the polished details like the Super Bell dropped I-beam and Posies front suspension, as well as the beautiful quick change rear end hanging on chrome ladder bars. Braking is by Wilwood up front and Ford Motorsport in back and the exhaust system was custom fabricated then ceramic coated. Old-school P.S. Engineering kidney bean wheels were fitted with spinners and staggered 165R15 front and 8.90-16 Firestones for that early hot rod look. Did I mention six-deuce Hemi power? If I showed you this color on a paint chart and told you that was the color I'd chosen for my roadster, you'd tell me that I'm crazy. But look at how awesome this car looks now that it's done. Brilliant, right? It almost seemed like a law that '32 Fords had to be black or red, but if you show up in this one, you will be The Man from the moment you arrive. Yes, it's fiberglass, but it has been expertly prepped and finished, with shaved door handles and hinges and a grille shell painted to match. You can forget about a hood, but with that outrageous sextuplet of carbs, why would you ever want to hide it? Out back, the traditional looks continue with '39 Ford teardrop taillights and an exposed gas tank, while up front a V'd spreader bar takes on a very trick look by adopting an airfoil profile. Obviously someone was sweating the details when this one went together. The completely custom interior uses a fabricated bench seat to maximize legroom in the compact roadster body. Wrapped in blue leather, the pleated seats have a traditional look that dates back to the days when this car was new, but the beautifully stitched door panels are quite modern. Dark blue carpets give the open car a finished, luxurious feel and help control heat, too. The dash is a gorgeous engine-turned panel filled with Stewart Warner instruments, and they didn't waste time with frivolous stuff like a radio or heater. More leather has been wrapped around the banjo-style wheel, which lives atop a polished billet tilt column, so it's easy to get comfortable behind the wheel. The trunk is upholstered to match, and part of this car's modern twist is the custom lift-off top, which is pure roadster, but looks ever so slightly different in profile thanks to the rounded side frame. Aside from a flathead, there's nothing more traditional in your hi-boy than a Chrysler 331 cubic inch Hemi. Topped by an outrageous induction system that incorporates SIX carburetors on a Weiand intake, it was the hottest engine on the street then and makes a big statement today. Everything was sanded, smoothed, and finished to accept a matching coat of light blue paint, and anything that wasn't painted was polished or chromed. Think of how long it took to disassemble and paint all those carburetor bodies, and note how glossy and smooth the engine castings are; there is A TON of work in this car. It also runs beautifully despite the exotic induction, and has a wonderful Hemi soundtrack thanks to the ceramic-coated exhaust system. The frame is boxed for strength, the front suspension consists of a traditional I-beam axle, and out back there's a Ford 9-inch hanging on ladder bars and coil-overs. Staggered Torque Thrusts achieve the traditional look using 195/60/15 front and 275/60/17 rear BFG radials. Gorgeous, fast, and unique, THIS is what hot-rodding is all about. Next time you see a generic 350 Chevy with a 4-barrel, you'll remember this car, and if it isn't yours by then, you'll probably regret it.
