According to its Heritage Certificate it was delivered new to the U.S. market and sold new by Jaguar Cars New York to its first registered owner Mr. David Reimens of Wharton, Texas on July 17th, 1967.This E-type has been a Texas car for almost all of its life. It was left early on unused in a garage, but complete. Purchased by Jaguar restoration firm, it was completely restored. Subsequently, it was sold to a Mr. R. Isip a Texas Toyota dealer and collector. In 2012, this E-type was offered for sale. Subsequently, purchased sight unseen from the internet by our client and its previous owner in 2012, it was delivered to its new home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Once received and upon inspection by a marquee expert, it was noted to be a mediocre restoration at best.It was decided to send this E-type to Texas based Jaguar expert, Dan Mooney’s Classic Jaguar for a thorough nut-and-bolt restoration that also provided an upgraded level of performance while aiming for cosmetic authenticity and thus, re-restore this E-type properly and to exacting standards, the way it should have been in the first place! New high-performance camshafts, enlarged stainless steel valves, Forged pistons, lightweight flywheel, K&N filters and an aluminum radiator were fitted for improved performance. For better road holding and drivability, Classic Jaguar added a five-speed transmission, Wilwood brakes, Koni shocks, upgraded torsion bars and wider, polished Dayton wire wheels mounted with Dunlop performance tires. Cosmetically the choice was made to retrofit a Series 1 bonnet with covered headlamps. According to its Heritage Certificate it was delivered new to the U.S. market and sold new by Jaguar Cars New York to its first registered owner Mr. David Reimens of Wharton, Texas on July 17th, 1967.This E-type has been a Texas car for almost all of its life. It was left early on unused in a garage, but complete. Purchased by Jaguar restoration firm, it was completely restored. Subsequently, it was sold to a Mr. R. Isip a Texas Toyota dealer and collector. In 2012, this E-type was offered for sale. Subsequently, purchased sight unseen from the internet by our client and its previous owner in 2012, it was delivered to its new home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. For better road holding and drivability, Classic Jaguar added a five-speed transmission, Wilwood brakes, Koni shocks, upgraded torsion bars and wider, polished Dayton wire wheels mounted with Dunlop performance tires. Cosmetically the choice was made to retrofit a Series 1 bonnet with covered headlamps. It was equipped with a 150 horsepower 2.4-liter single overhead camshaft straight-six cylinder, independent suspension and disc brakes. The 240Z was on par with or even superior to many of the best sports cars of the period.This 240Z was restored in the early 1990’s for and then housed in the collection of well known collector Mr. L. Noto and later Mr. P. Livanos (owner of Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. at the time), it was used in sparingly given the size and amount of automobiles in the their collective/collection. In 1995 it was sold to its most recent owner, another well-known Connecticut collector where it has been housed and once again used sparingly due to the size of his collection. It has therefore accumulated few miles since its restoration, but has been serviced and maintained regardless of use and cost. The Datsun 240Z was Japan’s equivalent to Britain’s sporting Jaguar E-type. By the late 1960s Nissan had begun work in-house on a new sports car designed specifically with American drivers in mind. With superb styling, it became an instant hit and automotive icon. It was equipped with a 150 horsepower 2.4-liter single overhead camshaft straight-six cylinder, independent suspension and disc brakes. The 240Z was on par with or even superior to many of the best sports cars of the period. This 240Z was restored in the early 1990’s for and then housed in the collection of well known collector Mr. L. Noto and later Mr. P. Livanos (owner of Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. at the time), it was used in sparingly given the size and amount of automobiles in the their collective/collection. In 1995 it was sold to its most recent owner, another well-known Connecticut collector where it has been housed and once again used sparingly due to the size of his collection. It has therefore accumulated few miles since its restoration, but has been serviced and maintained regardless of use and cost. It is complete with its original engine and gearbox and is in its original color. It is absolutely exceptional throughout, complete with its original owner’s manual, even the air conditioning is working well and blows extremely cold.
