Up for sale is one of the finest cars I've had and I've had hundreds of old classics. This 1950 Mercury has only 38,000 actual miles and has been kept in climate controlled storage. It is as solid and rust free as you will ever find!!! This car is ALL original sheet metal, NO patch work or panel replacement. It has had an immaculate one time repaint in its original correct color. All of the door jams still retain the original paint and looks impressive. Inside the driver door jam is an old Conoco service sticker. The paint, ALL the chrome, glass, stainless etc is pristine show quality condition!! The body lines are perfect and the doors open shut perfect. The interior is all correct and ALL original and is impressive! It is clean through out and just something to see! Up on the corner of the passenger side windshield you will find part of an old inspection sticker from Mo. from 1968The engine bay is filled with the original flat head V8. The car sounds good and runs excellent! It goes down the road smooth and tight and runs comfortable at 65mph. Still has its original 3 speed transmission. No problems! Now here is a bit of information I was told about this car. This car supposedly use to belong Hank Williams Sr. and it was donated to a museum in Missouri and then went onto a museum in Memphis and made its way to Charlotte NC approx. 18 years ago where it was sold and the car has remained here in Virginia the past 18 years. Now this is just what I was told and I have researched the internet and can't find any leads about this car and its history or this story so keep in mind I have NO proof of this! Probably not even worth mentioning But I found it very interesting and thought I would pass the story along. The story aside this car is one the nicest old cars I've ever had!!NO DISAPPOINTMENTS OR APOLOGIES!!Here is the deal. If you get here and find anything I mean ANYTHING at ALL you don't like about this car you will NOT be obligated to purchase it and any deposits WILL be refunded! As simple as that, I can't display any more confidence in my car than that!VA. DEALERWe welcome all serious buyers WorldwideWe reserve the right to end this listing at any time for any reason.THANKS

Before pictures are here. It has passed the Ohio safety inspection by the highway patrol. The title is no longer salvage but it does have a rebuild brand. It will now transfer and register like any other vehicle. Fees & Taxes The total amount due is the high bid plus our $199.00 title, license and documentation fee and your sales tax. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Reasonable expectations are the key to a happy used car buying experience! Please keep in mind that this car is not new. It is USED! And as such it will most certainly have imperfections that will distinguish it from a new car some of which are impossible to show in pictures. Some folks will only settle for the “perfect condition” car. This is not that car. Serious buyers only please! If you win the bid, you own the car.Extra keys, key fobs or manuals are not guaranteed unless you see them in the pictures. We pledge to make this your favorite online buying experience! Frequently Asked Questions: 1. What is a salvage title car? Salvage titles are deemed such by an insurance company, not a government agency. A salvage title car is a car that an insurance company had paid off, at a point, its value to the original owner. 2. How does a car become salvage? There are many reasons for this. The most common is collision. A lot of these salvage cars, however, are simply recovered theft cars. Recovered theft cars get a salvage title if they are recovered after the original owner has been paid off. Usually this happens after 30 days. 3. I thought salvage title cars are “totaled”?“Totaled” means an economic total loss. This doesn’t usually have much to do with the extent of the damage. Regardless of mileage, the older the car is the easier it would be for an insurance company to write them off. The less expensive the car is the is the lighter the damage would have to be for an insurance company to write it off rather then repair it. The salvage industry in huge in this country. We have access to at least 80,000 cars a week through salvage auctions. The majority of those cars are, indeed, not worth repairing. But a lot of these cars have minor damage or none at all. We pick and choose cars that have light damage. We never buy anything with severe damage. If nothing else, it would not be economical for us. 4. What was the extend of the damage for this car? This is described in detail in the history section of this listing above. For almost every car we sell, we have the pictures prior to repairs being made. So you can see for yourself that all of the cars we sell have not had serious damage. 5. How common is this? The fact is that nearly all retail dealers have body shops on site. The vast majority of used cars get bodywork. The difference is that we disclose all of our repairs. Most dealers do not. This is because we believe that there is nothing wrong with buying a car that has had body work done, but you should be able to buy it for less. 6. Is this a salvage title car?. It is not. At least not anymore. This car has an Original Ohio title that has a “rebuilt salvage” brand. The brand is there simply to indicate the vehicle’s history. 7. Has this car been inspected? Yes. This car has been inspected by the Ohio Highway Patrol. It has passed that inspection and is deemed roadworthy. No different than any other car. Ironically, only our cars get inspected. Under Ohio law, no roadworthiness test is necessary other than salvage inspections. This means that only our cars are inspected. Clean title cars, whether sold on E-Bay or otherwise, have not been inspected. 8. What about title transfer and registration? This will be no different than any other car. The initial 30 day registration we issue at deliver free of charge. This car will register and transfer like any other car. Title transfer will also be the same. These are the most commonly asked questions. If you have further questions, you can reach us directly at 216 759 4444 or you can use the e-bay “ask seller a question” link. Replies are always prompt.

For sale in our Orlando showroom is a 1948 Mercury Eight Convertible. The Mercury Eight was the first vehicle to be produced by the brand new Mercury name from Ford Motor Company. The war time Eight%26acirc;??s featured a lot of improvements in comfort, handling, and power. Mercury designed the pre war eights to be an up market competitor to compete with the likes of Buick and Chrysler. This particular Mercury eight has had some refinements made to it for creature comfort and drivability. Under the metallic red exterior of this beautiful cruiser sits a mild 351 CID V8 mated to an AOD 4 speed automatic transmission. The front end has had a disc brake conversion to add to the safety and braking performance. The custom ceramic coated headers look amazing and run to the full 2 1/2 inch stainless steel exhaust for an awesome sound. A 4 speed Top Loader transmission with a Hurst shifter featuring a hydraulic clutch has been employed to transfer the power to the new 9\" Curric limited Posi-Trac rear end assembly which features the Performance Axle Package and a 3.50 gear ratio. Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes not only look amazing but they do an excellent job of stopping this resto-mod when needed. The front suspension features powder coated tubular A-arm and coil overs, with coil overs in the rear suspension as well this Caliente Comet handles like a dream. The re-chromed front and rear bumpers with the all new chrome and stainless trim looks phenomenal against the masterful black paint. The interior of this Beautiful Comet was is just as nice as the outside and engine bay. The black with red trim vinyl interior looks like it has never been sat in and is a perfect complement to the build. 1969 Marquis Convertible been in stowage for many years and was last roadworthy about five years ago. Has PS,PB, 429 2V, C6 trans, PT with boot. Top is in good shape. Engine runs very good and transmishion shifts smooth. Body has had rust repair and is holding up well but the paint has faded. Frame has two bad spots that will need attention at some point. Chrome and Interior is very good. All electical systems work including vacume motors for headlights. It will need the typical work to get it going because it has sat for a while. The car runs drives and stops. The car is currently running on a gas can, and I wanted to keep the carburator clean, so the tank needs cleaned or checked. This car color is not easy to find and there was only around 2000 convertibles made. Has clean title and rode like riding on a cloud. I have relocated to Houston and will be loosing my garage space soon in Cleveland, Oh. A little time and effort is all that is needed to get it road worthy. Ralley wheels not included. Please call with any question and I will return your call ASAP. 281-883-8242. Have other cars for sale so they will be shown by appointment. Thank You Drew Ad provided by OldCarOnline.com/cond>

Fortunately, this Merc is also a wonderful car in every way, so the flathead definitely went out with a bang. With all the focus on vintage hot-rodding, it's easy to forget that your parents and grandparents drove cars like this to work every day. With that in mind, you shouldn't be surprised that this one works as well as it does or that it looks so polished. The Mercury brand was hitting on all eight cylinders in 1953, boasting impressive sales and a rejuvenated image thanks to cars like this. The bright red paint is pretty close to the original Siren Red, and with that contrasting white roof, it has a high-profile look that fits the Monterey's upscale status. Coming out of long-term ownership (something like 60 years!), it's important to note that this car has never had a frame-off restoration, so it has looked this good pretty much its entire life. It's been repainted, but the super straight bodywork comes from clean Texas living not a restorer's tools, and it still fits together with a precision that feels authentic. Heavy chrome bumpers are in very good condition, and it appears that most of the stainless trim is original, so it could be easily buffed and polished to really stand out. The two-tone red and black interior was probably freshened at the same time the car was painted and shows almost no signs of use since then. The vinyl upholstery is durable and comfortable, stitched into factory-correct patterns that value simplicity over flash. The dashboard, however, is a different story with its futuristic look, floating instrument panel, and aircraft-style control levers for the secondary controls. Handsome door panels with contrasting off-white window moldings are in excellent shape and the headliner remains taut and wrinkle-free. Auxiliary gauges are neatly installed under the dash, the better to monitor the warmed-over flathead up front, but that seems to be the lone modification inside. The factory AM radio is still in the dash, and this car offers spacious accommodations in the back seat. The sanitary trunk is neatly finished and includes a full-sized spare tire. The 1953 Mercury flathead V8 is the one all the hot-rodders want, and for good reason: it's the biggest and most powerful of the bunch. With 255 cubic inches to work with, it's ripe for upgrades, and this one has been recently rebuilt. The most obvious tweaks are the Edelbrock aluminum heads and headers, but it's also got a mild camshaft inside and a 12-volt electrical system. It's not exactly race-ready, but it moves the tidy Merc effortlessly with that characteristic flathead burble. Part of the joy of a flathead like this is the way it goes about its business with great torque and a fun exhaust note that'll have you blipping the throttle as you go through tunnels. It's painted bright red, as it should be, and still carries neat little details like the mechanical fuel pump up top and Ford script hoses with correct clamps. The dual exhaust is recent and sounds exactly right, and the 3-speed manual transmission is a pleasure to slip through the gears. New 215/70/15 whitewall radials retain a certain vintage look but deliver modern handling that you'll definitely appreciate. A neat 2-door Merc with flathead power, this Monterey is a no-disappointments car that proves you don't need a roadster to have fun with a flathead. Up for sale is a 1951 Mercury 2 door coupe. This is one of those cars that every true hot rodder wants in his collection. The “’51 Merc”. This car is an original South American car and has the original flathead engine and original column shift 3 speed manual transmission with dual exhaust. The car has power front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. It has manual steering manual windows. This car has been lowered 4 inches with new wheels, shaved door and trunk handles, restored interior and paint (10+ years old) and a lot of suspension upgrades. It has 12 volt conversion as well as the kilometer to MPH conversion on the speedometer. There is a long story to this car being 65 years old and presents itself well as a rust free car. It is an original steel body car. The body is untouched. It has not been chopped. This car has a clean PA title in hand. It was titled as a 1949 Mercury, but is a 1951 body. (This is still a mystery to everyone I ask but should not be a concern) This is a unique car with a great story. It is originally a South American heater delete Mercury, but found its way to southern California in the 90s where it went through a restoration with some hot rod modifications. This is where most of the mods were completed including but not limited to lowering the car 4 inches, suspension and power brake upgrades, shaving the door and trunk handles, 12 volt conversion of the entire car including gauges, radio, windshield wipers and new wiring harness. In addition, 4 new wheels were purchased to accommodate the disc brakes up front. The car also had a factory heater installed to accommodate those chilly California mornings and nights. The car was driven in California for more than 8 years. The owner of the car in California entered some rough financial times in the late 90s or early 2000s and sold the car to a friend in Philadelphia, who stored the car in a warehouse for a decade. In Philadelphia, the car was repainted the charcoal gray, the interior was redone including painting the dash, and there were new tires put on the car. The car was not driven at all in the 10 years it was stored in the warehouse in Philadelphia. I bought the car 3 years ago from that Philadelphia gentlemen and put it on the road made it roadworthy. I have been driving it to car shows and around on the weekends for fun. To make it roadworthy, the car needed a ton of tweaks. Those included an alignment, all the fluids drained, new spark plugs, a new choke and adjusted the carburetor. We adjusted the linkage of the manual column shift to make sure that it was aligned and lubed it as well as the entire car. We also adjusted the panel fit to get the doors, trunk and hood aligned properly and completed the door actuated poppers which work perfectly. Panel fit is pretty good considering the car is 65 years old. I bought a lot of original parts to complete the car including door trim and garnish moldings, vent window handles, inside door handles and installed them. There are a ton of hours of labor in this car over the past three owners, as well as a lot of money in upgraded parts or original OEM parts, not to mention the time it takes to find them. Here are all the specifics to the car in bulleted form: 1951 Mercury – South American rust free car (titled as a 1949 but body is a 1951) This was always a bit of a mystery. Clean PA Title. It is the perfect car for the guy that wants to finish completing and customizing the car their way while being able to drive it on the road. I’m selling the car because I would like to take a Merc and resto mod the entire drive train. This car is way too together and functional to rip the body off and drop it on a new chassis with a new fuel injected crate engine. There are still items to complete on the car including: · Install rebuilt radio · Connect all gauges in dash · Install windshield wipers Contact Carl @ 717-645-7771
