The TF, unveiled in late 1953, represented a major evolutionary step for MG with its repositioned headlamps, new bonnet design, sloping hood line and raked radiator. TF 1500 has proven to be the most desirable of the T-Series cars as it marked the end of the series with more power and better handling. MG aficionados hold the model in very high regard, as they believe it represents the final evolution of MG's iconic and classic design. Outfitted in the ideal British livery of BRG over Tan leather upholstery, this particular MG TF benefits from a nicely mellowed older restoration. Today, it makes for an excellent driver or touring contender. The car shows evidence of much care and attention to detail and although the cosmetics have slightly aged it still remains a very attractive example. This example is striking in its attire, complete with tan weather gear including folding top, a full set of side curtains, boot cover and luggage rack. Its correct "matching numbers" XPEG 1500cc engine performs very well. The undercarriage has been thoroughly detailed and shows the quality of its previous restoration. Ideal for all around fun and enjoyment, this TF1500 represents one of the most desired post-war MGs and truly embodies the essence of British motoring at a fraction of the cost of its counterparts. $39,500.00 Offers Welcomed Full Resolution Photos: 1955 MG TF1500 To learn more about this vehicle, please contact our sales department at (281) 497-1000 or [email protected] SELLING YOUR CAR? Wheelbase: 94 Following World War II, the first British sports car to capture American hearts was the MG TC. Its success inspired the MG TD, which appeared in 1949 and was built specifically for the U.S. market, with improved handling characteristics and left-hand-drive. The TF, unveiled in late 1953, was criticized by MG purists for its repositioned headlamps, new bonnet design, sloping hood line and raked radiator. However, many more welcomed the new TF, which sold nearly 10,000 units during its two-year production run. When introduced, the MG TF was powered by the same XPAG 1,250 cc engine that had driven the TD. While the engines output increased by a mere three horsepower, the new TF was nearly five seconds quicker in the zero to 60 mile per hour dash than the previous model. Despite its slightly dated design, the American press welcomed the MG TF. In its December 1954 edition, Road & Track stated, After last year’s test we asked if the TF was really that good. It is, and more. Even though the MG is the lowest priced sports car on the market, it is the accepted standard of comparison. Today, the MG TF has proven to be the most desirable of the T-Series carson the market, and it is considered by many enthusiasts to be one of the most attractive MGs ever made. The 1954 MG TF Roadster presented here is a beautifully fully restored example, which displays a smooth and glossy yellow finish. Toneau cover, leather covered steering wheel, really complement the flowing lines of this handsome automobile. As well, the TF rides on a set of chromed wire wheels with chrome hubcaps, and new tires. The inviting cockpit is trimmed in black leather upholstery with black carpeting, and features a beautifully refinished dash and steering wheel. Under the bonnet, the four-cylinder XPAG engine is well-detailed and period-correct in presentation, with the exception of a modern maintenance-free battery. This handsome 1954 MG TF Roadster truly embodies the essence of MG. It will certainly provide its next enthusiastic owner with an enjoyable break from the mundane with a solid dose of pure, elemental motoring enjoyment If you have any question please feel free to email or call us at 1-619-515-2220, David can be reached at 1-619-451-2130 anytime day or night. The first generation TA introduced hydraulic brakes, better suspension tuning, a reliable and responsive pushrod 4-cylinder engine and a 4-speed gearbox borrowed from the Morris 10. After the war, production resumed and so did the evolution of the T series. Each successive model of which was imported in large numbers to an American market with an appetite for European-style sports cars. The TF sweeping bodywork, optional wire wheels and an inline-4 rated at 63 HP. Like its predecessors, the TF offered responsive road manners and superior handling, perfect for the club racing that became so popular after the war. Automotive enthusiasts have considered MGAs as one of the more affordable classic sports cars for some time now. Collectors appreciate the cars’ vintage appeal and quintessential British charm. These "As" share the same traits as their English brethren, like Jaguars, Austin-Healeys, and Triumphs: top-down fun, raspy engines, full gauge instrumentation, and simplicity. Nowadays, MGAs are fetching great interest and offer solid investment potential. A car of this status can only appreciate in value as the years go on. The MGA roadster offered here is a great weekend driver. It's not perfect, but is just right for the enthusiast who has always wanted one. This MG still requires some tinkering and sorting, but what 56 year-old car doesn't? Here's a fine opportunity to get into a very collectible British icon and start living the dream! The MG is a blast to own and drive. This classic is a real crowd-pleaser and will make you and everyone else in its presence smile. MGAs have always had a cult following, epitomizing the sports car formula of top-down motoring, minimal accessory gimmicks, and plenty of charm. You may have always admired these sporty convertibles, or maybe even owned one years ago, but suppose you wanted to purchase one of these appreciating classics now? Unfortunately, over the decades many MGAs have fallen prey to neglect, rust, accidents, or unknowing owners who drove them into the ground. Not this example though; it's a survivor. After five decades, this classic still rides proudly in the essential MG tradition - sporty and thoroughly British. Green exterior resembles the color of money. It shines nicely and is very alluring - not to show standards, but to "driver" quality. You can still polish and wax it, and it'll look great. Body panels, and underside are dry and show no corrosion or paint bubbles. The MG’s sporty, yet traditional interior layout features chrome gauges and a lots of knobs to pull. Banjo steering wheel completes the package. Interior is in nice condition. Seats are in great shape, showing no tears or rips. Cushions are thick and supportive. Some trim pieces are not installed, such as door panels. Speedometer, fuel, temperature, oil pressure, and voltage gauges work. Tachometer does not. Signals and brake lights function fine. Tail-lights when in the "running" position do not work; headlights do. Horn works. I have some of the interior parts not shown, and will include them with the sale. ffffffffffffffff Defining the term "sporty" are a pair of removable side curtains, which are in good shape, to use when the top is on. Soft top is in good condition. Traditional three plastic windows are clear and flexible. There is a slight tear on the front of the top that can be repaired or patched. The motor is a 4-cylinder MG 1800 unit with dual SU carburetors. This is not the original engine to the car, and there are some modifications that have been made, but I still have the stock parts to bring back to original. Also, I have another engine block - a 1500 - that came with the MG when I acquired it over 9 years ago. This motor may be the car's factory motor, but I am not certain. It will be included with the sale, if you want it. ffffffffffffffff The current motor runs strong and fires right up, even when cold, by pulling out the choke lever a bit. Oil pressure is good and it doesn't overheat. Like all British cars, it leaks some oil. The carbs could stand to be properly adjusted/balanced or the timing dialed in. Newer style alternator is mounted to the engine block using a fabricated, non-factory bracket. This should be corrected, as the alternator shimmies and will tend to rattle against the inner fenders of the engine bay when the motor is revved. It could also be due to a motor mount. Some of the missing engine bay components I do have and will include them with the sale. The gearbox is in good condition and there's no popping out of any gears. Transmission has the old "crash-box" non-synchro first gear. Brakes have new lines and the cylinders were also replaced on all wheels. The car will require two 6-volt batteries. The ones currently installed are old and require a "jump" to start the motor. I've owned this MG for nine years and have enjoyed driving it through the back roads and to the beach. Be sure to see the short V I D E O of the MGA running & driving at the end of the photo presentation. Trunk is plain and simple, containing spare steel wheel and tire. Bottom is solid, with no rust or corrosion, so that's an added bonus. ffffffffffffffff The raspy roar of the exhaust....the allure of a sporty European design...the cache of a vintage British motorcar....all these tickle the senses and add to the pride of MGA ownership. Driving a British roadster makes you feel like a kid in a candy store...excited and full of energy. The experience is pure fun - both for driver and passenger. This car instantly transfers you to another era when things were simple and taking an afternoon drive was pleasurable and something you looked forward to. ffffffffffffffff A classic MGA is a British icon that presents a good value and opportunity in the world of collectible automobiles, as they are quite sought after. This MG has not been restored, and requires the typical maintenance that comes with owning such as sports car. This tangible investment is safer than the stock market and is something you can enjoy, again and again. Why not mix business with pleasure? This 1959 MGA is being advertised in a Buy it Now, at $15,950 format. There is no auction, where missing out on a good deal in the last 15 seconds is a tragedy we all know too well. No, this vintage sports car is being offered For Sale right now, at a disclosed price, so don't let it get away! For a full, detailed description of this fun and collectible 1959 MGA, please send an email with your specific questions, or call. phone: (805) 801-2581 or email: [email protected] website To see additional Cars for Sale, click Current Inventory You’re welcome to inspect this vehicle in person, or have someone inspect it for you. Stated mileage of 47,401 is the current odometer reading, but due to its age, this is not the vehicle's actual mileage. MG is sold with a clear California title. DO NOT BID unless you have the necessary funds readily available to pay for vehicle and you are SERIOUS about owning it. This is not the original engine to the car, and there are some modifications that have been made. I do, however, have another engine block - a 1500 - that came with the MG when I acquired it over 9 years ago. This 1959 MGA is being advertised in a Buy it Now, at $17,650 format. DO NOT BID unless you have the necessary funds readily available to pay for vehicle and you are SERIOUS about owning it. Neither fully restored nor completely original, it also provides the perfect opportunity for the guy who would rather be out driving his cars as intended. And with prices suddenly on the move, these cars will not be getting any cheaper any time soon. Bright red is a great choice for any 2-seat roadster, and the MGA wears it well. All-new following the TF, it brought a modern driving experience to the traditional British sports car and cloaked it in slinky bodywork that owes more than a nod to the great Jaguar XK120 of a few years earlier. As I said, this one isn't a trailer queen and it would be a shame to restore it to that level, because these really are wonderful cars to drive. It certainly looks good and offers patina that has to be earned, not reproduced, and even the old car smell will take you back in time. The bodywork is solid so there are no structural issues, and fit and finish are typical '50s British. Details like the grille and trim are clearly original and could benefit from some TLC, but even left as-is, this is a charming car. The MGA's big upgrade is inside, where it's downright spacious compared to its older brothers. Twin buckets are comfortable and supportive enough for sporting driving, and the red piping is a great touch that fits the car's personality perfectly. Newer carpets remain in decent condition, and the door panels are still simple affairs made of cardboard and vinyl, with large map pockets and basic hardware. After all, how are you going to lock a car without windows, anyway? Handsome Jaeger instruments are easy to read and traditionally British in appearance, and that lovely spoked steering wheel needs nothing more than a pair of string-backed driving gloves to be perfect. This car also includes foul-weather gear, including a recent convertible top and side curtains. The motor is not original, but of the period, with a former owner/speed demon electing to slightly upgrade to the 1588 cc I4, coming in at a gentlemanly 78 HP rating. Dressed in a bright red valve cover and dual side-draft carburetors, it has a snarky exhaust note that vintage sports car fans will adore-you'll blip the throttle and hit a downshift just to hear it whenever you go through a tunnel. It shows signs of regular maintenance, and runs extremely well, suggesting that this car has been properly looked-after its entire life. Linked to a 4-speed manual, it provides a wonderfully entertaining driving experience that combines all the senses, which is exactly the point. Brakes are quite good given how light the car is, and the pressed steel road wheels were standard equipment on US models. Perfect examples are pushing $40,000 today, but who wants a perfect one? Take this one out and drive it! Painted in traditional Old English White with Red Leatherette seat interior, this MGA is equipped with steel wheels and optional hard top painted to match the exterior of the car. This is the rarest and most desirable version of the last of the MGA series of sports cars. This car has enjoyed a very nice paint job. Its new owner will, at some point want to re-do the original interior in order to bring it up to the level it deserves. It drives and shifts very nicely and is an exciting investment you can drive and enjoy! - Optional Hard Top - Last Year for MGA - 1600 CC 90 hp Engine - Steel Wheels - 9,442 miles showing The MGA was produced from 1955 to 1962 by the British Motor Corporation. The A replaced the aging MG TF 1500 and earlier TD models, representing a complete redesign of the iconic open sports car. A total production of 101,081 units were produced before the introduction of the all new B model in September of 1962. Only 5,869 cars were sold in England, making the MGA the highest percentage of all British cars built for the export market. With falling sales of the traditional MG models, the MGA design was given the production green light despite being initially designed in 1951. Production had been delayed by BMCs decision to build Donald Healeys Austin-Healey sports cars. The new MGA was a body on frame construction and utilized the straight-4 B series engine from the Magnette Sedan. Suspension was independent with coil springs and wishbones at the front and a rigid axle with semi-elliptic springs at the rear. Steering was rack and pinion and wire wheels were an option. unrestored, unmolested original 1962 Mark II Roadster. 1954 MG TF Roadster The car you are considering in this listing is a 1954 MG TF Roadster (Convertible). This MG TF is in superb condition, and runs and drives extremely well. It is in original unmodified condition, with a couple of exceptions -- the air cleaners have upgraded covers and the fuel cap is not original. All of the electronics work in the car. The car has 5 matching period correct bias-ply tires. It includes the Owner's Manual, tools as pictured including knock off hammer and original side curtains. The convertible top has been replaced and is in good condition. The car has some records including some meticulously handwritten notes on graph-paper which indicate the engine was rebuilt including boring and honing. The engine runs very smoothly and starts easily. The engine-side mechanism operating the tachometer which is driven from the generator is included but needs attention, which doesn't have any impact on the drivability or operation of the car. Original Hand Crank Included and partial service records. Clean and clear title included. Original 1954 Florida license plate and 1950s Great Britain license plate on front are both included. This car is part of an estate sale and it will be sold to the individual or entity making the highest unencumbered offer, without reserve. There are various videos below, and in addition to the eBay-hosted 24 pictures there are an additional 600+ photographs in a slideshow album embedded below. Brake system has mostly been redone -- replaced 8 shoes, replaced 4 drums, replaced master cylinder. Floors are in excellent condition. Offers are encouraged. Buyers from anywhere in the world are welcome and flexible transport assistance will be provided. The car can be driven to the new buyer's home without any issues. Here is a video of a 360 degree walk around the car with the convertible top up: Here is a video of a 360 degree walk around the car with the convertible top down: Here is a 40-second video of a road demonstration: Here is a 2-minute video of the engine, engine cover operation, and oil condition: Here is a 43-second video of operating the doors opening/closing: Here is a 1-minute video of operating the convertible top down procedure: Photograph Slideshow (600 Photographs): I am quite flexible with payment terms, coordination of transport, possibly contributing to your transportation costs, flexible on the purchase price, storage, etc. Inspections, test drives, etc., as all are welcomed. I require all inspections take place prior to official offer submissions. The car is a great driver or show car. Mechanical and accessory features of this car work properly, and the paint and body are in excellent shape. A deposit of $500 is due immediately if you use the Buy-It-Now, or within 24 hours if buyer has negotiated an agreed price. The remainder of the purchase price is due within 7 calendar days including the day of the ended listing on eBay (i.e., the day when you "purchased" it on eBay by clicking Buy It Now or I accepted your offer). Storage for up to 2 months is allowed at no cost to you, in other words it's FREE to store your car for 2 months. There are no additional fees that I will charge you, for storage, or anything else -- you pay me only the purchase price established on eBay. However, I am not comfortable storing it beyond 2 months and you will incur significant fees if you leave the car to stay longer than that, of $30 per day with a minimum charge of $100. For the remainder of money due after your deposit I will not accept checks of any kind, neither bank checks, nor personal checks, certified checks, nor official checks, nor registered checks or otherwise....none are accepted, period. You must pay by bank wire transfer or cash in-person. I am glad to speak to you on the phone about the car. I have 100% positive feedback going back years on eBay, and it is extremely important to me that you are satisfied. With cars people say it is very hard to satisfy people, but for me that has never been the case that it's hard to satisfy people; I think it is easy to satisfy people. You just treat them the way that you would like to be treated, fairly and honestly and with honor and integrity. If you have been looking for a car that will increase in value, you should buy the rarest and most desirable one you can afford. This is an excellent example of a car that will always increase in value, be solid and reliable, and present well for any occasion, practical use or show.

Still sporting curvaceous fenders and a spunky four-cylinder engine, it's a delightful combination of ancient technology and very usable performance. And thanks to a comprehensive restoration, this one is ready to have fun today! The color isn't technically correct for a TF, but it does come from the British Isles, being borrowed from the 1993 Jaguar color pallet, a hue Jaguar calls British Racing Green. Whatever the name, it looks fantastic on the shapely little roadster and thanks to complete disassembly and a frame-off build, it covers every square inch of metal on the car, inside and out, the hallmark of quality work. The shine is something the dusty factory in 1954 couldn't imagine and the bodywork is impressively straight and beautifully assembled with a lot more care. The TF received faired-in headlights in an attempt to give it a more modern look, creating a pleasing combination of old and new that truly works. The restorer is an experienced TF aficionado who remarks that this was by far the most solid TF he's ever started with, and the wood frame and sheetmetal were in excellent order before the work started. All the chrome and stainless trim was either polished, or, if it was pitted or damaged, replaced or restored, including the delicate trim around the gas tank and the handsome grille up front. From day one, the thing the English have done best is interiors, and even the humble MG shows off the careful workmanship of craftsmen who were artists as much as laborers. The simple bucket seats are inviting and comfortable, yet hold you well enough for the sporting MG's performance capabilities. The slender banjo-style steering wheel is quite upright and in your lap, which is how performance drivers preferred it back in the day, and the double-hump dashboard provides a sense of style in the simple cabin. The center-mounted Jaeger instruments surely made building left- and right-hand drive models easier, and their octagonal faces mimic the MG badge's shape. The slender shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission clicks through the gears like a toggle switch and the pedals are well-placed for spirited driving. And while these cars were never designed to be completely weather-tight, the tan canvas roof and matching side curtains seal things up well enough that inclement weather won't put a damper on the party. The engine is the famous 1250 cc inline-four that lived in MGs for years, and you'll quickly find that it's a mistake to judge it by its size. Less weight is the same as more power, and for sheer driving delight, few cars can match an MG being driven at 9/10ths. The engine is nicely detailed in MG maroon paint, twin side-draft carburetors, and new wiring throughout. While the body was off the frame, the brakes were fully rebuilt, the components were painted and detailed, and the rear end received new bearings and seals. There's also a shiny polished stainless exhaust system offering a hearty MG bark and proper painted wires with knock-offs and rightly skinny 165R15 blackwall radials that handle great. This is surely one of the finest TFs available anywhere, and now's the time to make a move because prices are on their way up for these wonderful little roadsters.
