Only small modifications were made during the 6-year process, either when original parts weren't available or to simply improve drivability. You won't have to chase details like the Coyote chased his dinner: photos and receipts from the restoration are available. The Cool Vanilla paint is as good as any new car. We're hard pressed to find a flaw in it. It's a good look, and the hood vents contrast nicely. Its sharp-looking 17-inch Bandit wheels by U.S. Mags are well suited to this crisp, white car, and modern radial tires won't wander like the old bias-ply type. This is an original Texas car: The seller claims all the sheetmetal is original, with the exception of the front fenders. The originals were in good condition, but had been cut at some point to fit wider tires. Satellite fenders-OEM, not aftermarket-were used instead. The restoration work continued inside with high-quality parts. The restorer sourced new interior pieces from Legendary Auto Interiors that are correct to the car. An aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel features a beefy wooden rim that's a pleasure to look at, and aftermarket gauges mounted under the dash provide a bit more information about the engine's health than the original Road Runner instrument cluster does. An AM/FM/CD player is mounted out of sight, under the passenger seat. The car was originally equipped with air conditioning, and that system has been upgraded on the other side of the firewall with Classic Industries components. That should provide welcome relief for a midsummer drive. Speaking of heat: The 383 cubic inch V8 under the hood doesn't hesitate when it's fired up. This engine, like the rest of the car, is fresh off a rebuild to the original specs, with just 800 miles driven to sort any potential problems. It looks clean enough to eat off of. A Pertronix distributor should make tune-ups a little bit easier, and the Edelbrock 750 carburetor has an automatic choke that works well. It looks extremely clean underneath as well, it appears as if nary a bolt was reused without at least being cleaned. If you're looking for a Road Runner that has been meticulously restored, you've found it. This car is a beauty, and with just a few upgrades done to make it livable in a modern age. It's completely turn-key: Just fire it up and drive it home. If anyone fails to notice you-unlikely as that is-you can always draw their attention with the horn. Meep meep! 1970 TOYOTA FJ 40 LAND CRUISER Toyota Land Cruiser prices have been appreciating quickly over the last few years. So much so that full restoration examples are bringing $30,000-$40,000. Don't think this FJ isn't worth the investment because it is and is probably one of the more solid examples available for sale. Just add a coat of paint and you'd be right in that realm. We were able to procure this example from California and are able to offer it at an extremely reasonable price. This 1970 FJ is extremely solid and honest example of an FJ with a little added horses under the hood. This FJ 40 is a California barn find Hot Rod powered by a Ford FE 390 motor adapted to the FJ original 3 speed manual transmission. It is some what of a sleeper due to its exterior stock appearance. The FJ runs and drives very well and does not over heat even in 100 degree weather or in bumper to bumper traffic. It is completely roadworthy as she sits right now down to the brand new BFG's on her. We have had her out all around town and not only is she a head turner she is a blast to drive. She is ready to conquer any terrain and has plenty of torque to master any trail or hill in her way. This would make a great trail or huning vehicle just the way it sits. I can not stress enough how reliable and drivable this FJ 40 is. Although not a freshly restored FJ, she does have quite a few fresher items and what really makes her stand out from the crowd are her nice body panels. This FJ 40 has a straight body and very nice hard top, rust free doors, and solid floors. I am impressed with the overall condition of this FJ and how well the doors and rear barn doors operate and fit. You will notice on the passenger door where the paint chipped off it looks like rust but its only surface and the door is solid just like the driver's side. The padded dash does have some cracks in it but overall the interior is really a gem. Take a look at the photographs and let us know if you have any questions. This is a great opportunity to buy one that is well built and runs great and is still affordable. The front drive works as does the transfer case which make it idea for off-road use with the added torque of the 390 motor. Also the heater works really job!
