Purchased in 4/10 with 73,753 miles certified on the title, from A-Cars, Inc. in Virginia Beach, Virginia, which is an automotive garage/restorer, as third owner. Car has been in Virginia Beach area its entire life, never experiencing road salt or poor winter road conditions. Car is rust-free. Since I have owned it, this Porsche was always garaged, and only driven in nice weather on back, lonely roads, and never in excessive heat or cold; much time, elbow grease and sweat was put into exterior, with many Meguiar's products. Timing belt/water pump was changed at 72,736 miles in June of 2008, by a previous owner. Timing belt was also changed as precaution in March 2010, along with valve job by A-Cars, Inc., prior to my ownership. Although odometer stopped working in 6/11 with 76,571 miles, my driving has been consistent, with appx. 1500 miles a year, (the miles given at 83,000 are therefore approximate) always only in summer months. New tires were installed 5/12, and only have about 4-5k on them, if that. They are as new. Car has always been faithful, and drives/accelerates/shifts/handles/stops perfectly. Always has passed VA State Inspection and regularly maintained. Many other parts have been purchased/installed by me, from sunroof deflector hinges to battery, CD stereo, speakers, fitted seat covers, spark plug wires, headlights, Cocoa mats, etc. I have kept track/have records of these purchases. Car is not perfect, as it is near 30 years old- has a few dings, cracked dash top, headliner is torn and worn out from age and needs replaced - a couple of small dents on driver side rear quarter panel from a previous owner, and some paint flaws, but it shows beautifully. I even showed it on the green at Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Concours, in 7/13. Otherwise, only issues I have would be: slight oil drip on cardboard in my garage, A/C needs charged, clock, rear defroster wires need replaced - and passenger side window will not go up/down from driver's side button, needs new insulation mat under hood, and wheels need paint re-finish. Great candidate for full restoration, as nice 924S models are getting hard to find, or to live out a second life as a track day car! Sweet classic 1982 Porsche 924 for sale in pretty awesome (not perfect, please read condition description for specifics, but pretty awesome) condition! These cars are hard to find in any condition these days and because it is a classic Porsche, it is appreciating in value. Qualifies for classic car insurance through most companies. Selling because a)we can't garage it to keep it nice, and b)we bought it for a teenager and decided it was way too cool to let her ruin it. Has a 4 cylinder engine, manual transmission, runs nicely, fun to drive! 35 mpg highway. Had it checked out by two Porsche mechanics recently. Beautiful body, newer paint job, nice rims and lots of Porsche details. After market Blaupunkt radio and cassette player (time to haul out those old 80's tapes and live it up oldschool). Sunroof, power windows, pop up headlights, Recaro leather sports seats, back seat that can fold down for more storage space in the back. Newer tires, and starter, new headlights, clutch and torque tube, drive shaft and bearings. Recent wax job and oil change, can go 7500 miles in between. Will throw in the oil and filter for the next oil change, as well as fuses, relays, extra headlights and anything else we bought specifically for this car. Comes with original owner's manual and Haynes repair manual if you're a do-it-yourself-er. Have service receipts for recent work done on the car if interested. We bought it a few months ago and have been steadily improving it to maximize its value. Trying to get our investment back if we're not going to keep it. Price is slightly negotiable, but I'd rather keep it than sell it low. Clean title! Solid running car, engine pulls strong and car brakes but will need new ones soon. Factory mags to my knowledge, heater and fans work well, defrosters work, etc etc. Older JVC head unit cd player works, unfortunately I don't have the original. Drivers side power mirror works, passengers side does not - Probably shorted. Lights still work and flip up correctly too! Car was purchased in February of this year, oil was changed with Mobil 1,NGK Spark plugs, K/N Air filter, Tranny fluid changed, brand new KYB Gr2's all around on under less than 600 miles. Car's made multiple trips to Colorado Springs, Denver and Back, In total I've put maybe 1000 miles on it. Sunroof works but likes to stick. Wouldn't hesitate to drive it for long distances. Thermostat gets warm, but doesn't overheat even in traffic. Will include a new waterpump with sale. 77k on the ODO, Odo broke before purchase so mileage is closer to 78-79k. Frame was tweaked by previous owner. Car drives, but pulls to the right. Put it on a frame puller and you should be set. Brakes work, need replaced. Needs tires, set is mismatched. AC Inop. Speakers failing. Paint chips and spots, fading - normal 80's Porsche paint issues. Solid race car or project for restoration or weekend DD. Seat inners have separated from the sides, common 80's Porsche issue. This is a 924 S, So better than your average 924. Right fender replaced and resprayed by P/O. In the photos of the passengers side you can see the crumple where the frame was pushed in. Selling due to financial difficulties. This is my second Porsche, and I love these cars as any enthusiast should. I wouldn't sell it if I didn't have to. Please feel free to ask any questions.

For Sale here is an EXTREMELY clean 1988 Porsche 924S. It has 26K miles showing and the title says Exceeds Mechanical Limits and the odometer is working. It is factory equipped with leather interior which is almost flawless for 26 year old car. It has AC and it does work, the heat also works along with the power windows and passenger side power mirror. I cannot figure how to open the sunroof but it does have one. It is missing the radio and antenna, the gas tank was dropped and cleaned along with the lines and fuel pump was cleaned. The paint has no rust anywhere no scratches and only a few rock chips and minor dents. There are no signs of rust repair and I have looked up on a lift. It runs great and it is a rare automatic which has new fluid in it along with a fresh synthetic oil change. The tires are like new all have about the same wear. The lights work and come into place correct. The car runs and drives nice, it is bone stock. No check engine lights or mechanical issues. The car is 26 years old so things like the hydraulic shocks on the rear hatch and hood need replacing and the wiper blades. This is a used car and is being offered with no expressed or implied warranty The Porsche 924 was a luxury sports car produced by Porsche AG of Germany from 1976 to 1988. A two-door, 2+2 coupé, the 924 replaced the 914 as the company's entry-level model, and was the model that finally retired the 912. In production terms, the 924 was the first Porsche model powered by a water-cooled, front-mounted engine although the similarly configured 928 was designed first. The front-engine, rear wheel drive arrangement was normal for most other manufacturers, but it was unusual for Porsche having previously only used mid- or rear-mounted engines of a boxer configuration, all of which had been air-cooled. It was the first Porsche to be offered with a fully automatic transmission. The first official appearance of the 924 took place in November 1975 (as a press launch rather than a motorshow appearance) at the harbour at La Grande Motte, Camargue in the south of France. The model was a success with just over 150,000 produced (from 1977-1988), and it not only helped to take Porsche out of financial ruin, but created the revenue stream needed to continue building and developing the 911. The 924 was replaced by the 944 (also a successful model) in 1983 in the U.S. market, but continued to be produced until 1985 for other markets. For the 1986 to 1988 model years the car acquired the powerplant from the 944 model and became the Porsche 924S. In 1984 VW decided to stop manufacturing the engine blocks used in the 2.0 924, leaving Porsche with a predicament. The 924 was considerably cheaper than its 944 stablemate, and dropping the model left Porsche without an affordable entry-level option. The decision was made to equip the narrower bodied 924 with a slightly detuned version of the 944's 163 bhp 2.5 litre straight four, upgrading the suspension but retaining the 924's early interior. The result was 1986's 150 bhp 924S. Porsche also decided to re-introduce the 924 to the American market with an initial price tag of under $20,000. In 1988, the 924S' final year of production, power increased to 160 bhp (119 kW; 162 PS) matching that of the previous year's Le Mans spec cars and the base model 944 (itself detuned by 3 bhp (2 kW; 3 PS) for 1988). This was achieved using different pistons which raised the S' compression ratio from 9.7:1 to 10.2:1, the knock-on effect being an increase in the octane rating, up from 91 RON to 95. This made the 924S slightly faster than the base 944 due to its lighter weight and more aerodynamic body.

Less than two years later, he moved his family to Southern California and of course the Porsche came with him. For the next 26-years, he absolutely pampered this car. Nothing was too good for it. He became very active in his local PCA Zone and held several board positions including president. In fact, he was PCA president for 4 terms. He was a strong competitor in the PCA Concours scene and won over 30 awards. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2006. His wife continued to show the car at the concours events and maintain it. The 924 was given an engine which was sourced from an Audi and was an efficient 2 litre 4-cylinder engine.
