Eleanor - 2000 film Custom 1967 Mustang Fastback Eleanor from the 2000 Gone in Sixty Seconds film In 1995, Denice Halicki licensed the rights of the 1974 film to Disney for a remake of the same name. The new 2000 Gone in 60 Seconds film, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, features Nicolas Cage as master auto thief Randall "Memphis" Raines. Both films share plot similarities about a crew of thieves' who steal a large order of cars (48 in the original, 50 in the 2000 film) and deliver them to the Long Beach docks. Once again, the "Eleanor" name is given to the film's featured car; now a pewter, 1967 Ford Mustang fastback, depicted as a Shelby GT500, with a customized body kit designed by Steve Stanford. So of course we wish we had that rare gem today, but then again, this near perfect tribute is about as close as you can get to have some Nicholas Cage style fun. This car has all the great lines of the original Mustang, but there is no mistaking it for any secretary's car. The customization is apparent from every angle with a body kit by Unique Performance. It starts up front with the dual billet grilles that that make way for a new front bumper and racing lights. And speaking of lights, this also gets a custom set of fog lights and cool-blue driving lamps mounted in specially built front panel. The hood pins look like they were necessary to tame this beastly bulging hood (and we'll tell you exactly why they're needed a little later). The laser straight bodylines even have room to integrate the side exhaust pipes. Out back the flat rear panel and bumper have been de-chromed in true racer fashion. But even without this brightwork, Eleanor shines in many other ways. The superb silver paint with dual black racing stripes has enough gloss to be a mirror. Plus, the shine from 20-inch Boss wheels is enough chrome to grab everyone's attention. Take one look at the interior and you know Eleanor is a serious gal. Your seating is a set of Sparco racing buckets with a matching set of four-point harnesses. The three-spoke steering wheel has the old-school wood grain appearance, but with an upgrade for better grip. Behind it are new Pro-comp gauges that take the place of the original GT readouts. Eleanor might be a mean machine, but she also knows how to pamper (although you may not know it by the "GO BABY GO" text around the nitrous button on the shift knob). This is a power steering car with ice cold air conditioning, and power windows set in a custom center console. There's a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo system that's iPod compatible. The amplifier in the trunk runs the massive speakers that you can hear at any speed. But really that's secondary, because your favorite soundtrack will always be exhaust booming from the beastly motor. While the original 1967 Shelby GT500s had a 427 cubic-inch engine, this super-snake has been super-sized with a 460 V8. Of course the upgrades don't stop there. This one is running an Edelbrock 650cfm double-pump carburetor and Performer intake. The inner workings of the engine have been fully rebuilt, including competition-style aluminum heads, new pistons, rings, rods, roller rocker arms, valves, and timing chain. Keeping the vital fluids flowing is a Holley electric water pump, single stage dry-sump oil pump, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator with electric fan. But out of all these performance upgrades, there is one that's the most obvious. Of course, we're talking about that NOS bottle that is in plain view of the back window. It's clearly visible to intimidate everyone, but that's just where the fun begins. The car is already wired with a missile-style safety switch for arming the gas bottle, and blast-off is via the red button on the stick shift just like in the movie! There's a five-speed manual transmission to make sure there are enough gears to keep up with a motor that can outrun everyone. Plus, this has a stout 9-inch Ford rear end that won't let you down. Traction is excellent with four-wheel disc brakes and the original 17-inch Cobra style wheels, but you can also elect to install the super sticky 20-inch Toyo Proxes 4 tires included in the later pictures instead. The seller will swap for your choice. Oh yeah, did we mention that this car only has 50 miles on the odometer since built? We were too busy telling you about all the lust worthy features to mention that you will be the one to really break in Eleanor. 1967 Ford Mustang for Sale 1967 Ford Mustang for Sale Stock # 3008-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] Tampa Showroom 4610 Pet Lane Lutz, FL 33559 Local/International: (813) 501-1630 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. G-Force 5 point harnesses hold you in place in the turns while a Cobra-style woodgrain wheel transmits your directions to the front wheels. Under the hood is a 410ci Windsor built by the Ford experts at Keith Craft. Rated at 515HP, the dyno sheets show this one exceeds expectations by about a dozen ponies. A 750cfm Holley sits atop an Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold for induction while full-length headers carry away spent fumes. MSD handles the ignition chores while Concept One's serpentine system keeps the pulleys moving. The engine bay, as well as the entire chassis, is coated in easy-to-clean, highly resilient and striking black bedliner. Cobra valve covers and a Cobra air cleaner are where they belong. Inside, Scat Rally 1000 seats are front and center in the fully restored interior. Everything is new from the carpet to the headliner and door panel to door panel. The basis is a stock '67 deluxe interior package, with the aluminum inserts on the dash and doors. A new gauge bezel holds a full set of Shelby-badged white faced gauges. In your right hand is a short throw shifter attached to the Z-spec world class T5 manual transmission. The "GO BABY GO" shift knob and nitrous activation switches are the finishing touches to a comprehensive redo. At the Motor Car Group, we're enthusiasts first. AC Cobra With A Built 302, Five Speed, Disc Brakes, Meticulously Maintained & Turn Key! 85+ Photos & Video Located Below! Please feel free to share this listing with anyone you know. Who knows, it could very well be someone's dream car! This Cobra was purchased as a finished car over a decade ago. It is built on a FiberFab body. Upon obtaining it, the current owner took the Cobra to a very reputable high-end specialty car facility (Bob Hindson Racing) and had the Cobra completely reengineered to the tune of 10k dollars. His goal, to insure that he had a turn key sports car that handled like a true performance vehicle. During the course of his ownership, Bob Hindson Racing and AutoDino have been the primary care takers of this Cobra. Over the last five years, over 8k dollars has been spent on regular maintenance. The fit and finish of this Cobra far surpasses the bulk of the Cobras that you will find within the market place. I would say that this Cobra itself is in the top 10% of its class. Upon driving the Cobra, one of the very first things that you will notice is the overall quality of the car. The overall feel of this Cobra is equivalent to driving any vehicle off of the manufacturing line. Just turning the key over will give anyone a good feel of just how well built this car is. From how the doors shut and seal to how she handles, you will quickly see that there were zero corners cut on the build of this Cobra. The 5.0 302 within this Cobra is absolutely phenomenal. It does not smoke, leak, nor burn an excess amount of fluid. She fires up every time and has enough power to push you back in to your seat. The five speed manual transmission works flawlessly. You can easily sail through gears with out any problems. The front disc brake setup also works flawlessly. She does not pull, shake, or shimmy upon stopping. All of the wiring through out this Cobra is nice and tidy. Every single thing on the Cobra is in excellent working order. The body and paint work of this Cobra is absolutely surreal. All of the panels line up exceptionally well. Again, I want to put a heavy emphasis on the fit and finish of this Cobra. A very extensive amount of time and money were invested in to insuring that the fit and finish were spot on. All of the glass as well as chrome through out the Cobra are in excellent condition. The Cobra does have a convertible top. The interior of the Cobra is in excellent shape. The bucket seats, the dash pad, instrument panel, shifter, all of its is in excellent condition. Located below you will find close to ninety photos of the Cobra as well as an extensive amount of footage. What you see within the photos is exactly what you will see in person. I do my absolute best to insure that there is no guess work when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. If you would like photos of any specific areas and or footage, please do not hesitate to ask. In my personal opinion, the only thing that this Cobra could use is a brief detailing of the underside. I will be evaluating all reasonable offers and I will in fact sell the Cobra early as I do have it for sale "locally". My goal here is to sell the Cobra. I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to please call or email to schedule a time to come check it out. We do have a clear title for this Cobra as well as a folder of documentation. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to give me a call. Good luck and happy bidding! Thanks, (816) 308-0351 SHIPPING Export Welcome! Need assistance with shipping? It’s got a Shelby serial number, it’s in the Shelby Registry, and it has the full approval of Carroll Shelby himself. It’s one of only two GT500E convertibles built by Unique Performance, with the other being a shop demonstrator vehicle that was lost in the chaos following Unique’s collapse. We’ll get to that story in a moment, but the important thing here is this particular GT500E convertible, which is simply spectacular in every way and shows just 684 miles since it was built, is one of only two ever built by Unique Performance. The story has to go all the way back to 1995 when Disney somehow acquired the rights to the “Gone in 60 Seconds” story originally filmed in the early 1970s. Essentially, it’s a 2-hour car chase with a featured 1971 Mustang named Eleanor doing some pretty impressive stuff. But 25 years later, maybe it was time for a reboot, so they gave it a giant budget, plenty of star power (Nicholas Cage and Angelina Jolie, among other notables), and had Jerry Bruckheimer blow it up, er, direct it. The new film had a lot more drama built in, a more cohesive story (such as it was), but one thing was the same: a Mustang named Eleanor figured very prominently in the action. Noted designer Steve Stanford was tapped to design the new “hero” car, and the result is arguably the most recognizable Mustang ever built. The movie cars had input from Chip Foose and were built by Cinema Vehicle Services and were never really intended for public consumption, although one or two were built for promotional purposes and of the eleven or twelve—nobody’s sure—three have come to auction in recent years with one trading hands for more than $1,000,000. That’s a pretty big number for a Mustang of any kind and shows you just how much star power that movie really carried. Even 15 years later, these cars are icons. Anyway, Eleanor Fever reached its heights in the years following the premiere of the latest “Gone in 60 Seconds” film. Inevitably and as expected, Carroll Shelby got involved and tribute cars started showing up at shows around the country. Arguably the finest Eleanor Mustangs were coming out of a little shop in Farmer’s Branch, Texas called Unique Performance, and they quickly struck a deal with both Carroll Shelby and Chip Foose to become, essentially, the modern-day equivalent of Shelby-American circa 1967. The Eleanor Mustangs, including the Super Snakes, were special because they had a pedigree, something that none of the other Eleanor clones could offer. Like the Cobras being built at Shelby’s Las Vegas facility, they were “continuation” cars, not replicas, and as such were afforded special privileges in the Shelby community, not the least of which was inclusion in the SAAC roster, an honor granted only to genuine Shelby automobiles. This is kind of a big deal. Now the rest of the story is perhaps even more dramatic than the movie itself, and it’s also what makes the Unique Performance Eleanor Mustangs so highly sought today, because a great backstory always adds value. For reasons that aren’t altogether clear, Unique was collecting deposits like mad on the Eleanor Mustangs and seemingly couldn’t build them fast enough. Some folks seem to believe there was a Ponzi scheme going on where new deposits were used to finish old builds and eventually the whole thing just couldn’t support itself. Whether it was intentional or not is impossible to say, because the guys who did it aren’t talking. Were they victims of their own success who just couldn’t keep up with demand, or were they really out to steal from rich guys who wanted a slice of movie magic in their garages? At this point, it’s impossible to say, but the safe bet is that the truth is somewhere in between. Eventually, some irate buyers who had placed rather substantial deposits to get their place in line at Unique Performance called in the authorities. After a lot of finger-pointing, some issues involving reproduction bodies and authentic VINs, and a whole host of other sordid accounting problems, Unique Performance was forced out of business forever, ending their relationship with Shelby, who, having been blamed for many of the problems, was none too pleased with the situation himself. It’s a classic story of good intentions being spoiled by money, fame, and success. Carroll Shelby, who was named in several lawsuits by angry customers has apparently tapped two other shops to complete those cars for clients. Nevertheless, the cars built by Unique Performance are held in higher regard than any of the other “clones” and subsequent “approved” builds, but whether that’s because of or despite their story remains open to debate. In the Shelby world, there’s definitely a pecking order, and the cars built by Unique Performance remain special to this day. And that brings us full circle back to this stunning GT500E convertible. In the film, Eleanor was a Shelby GT500 fastback and that’s what Unique Performance was building. Most were Pewter with black stripes, just like in the film, and as a custom build, you could pretty much tailor it to your exact specifications. The options list was extensive and I’m pretty sure that if you could imagine it, the guys at Unique Performance would build it for you. Somewhere along the line, someone at Unique decided to build an Eleanor convertible, which they did, painting it white with blue stripes and giving it every trick they could throw at it. That car became a demonstrator and a part of Unique’s showroom display and a show vehicle at events like the SEMA show in Las Vegas. And until this car was built, that demonstrator was the only convertible ever built. This convertible Eleanor is the second of two built by Unique Performance, and the only one built for a customer. It varies from the demonstrator car only in that it has black stripes instead of blue, but otherwise packs just about every upgrade they could throw at an Eleanor Mustang. Original sticker price? Almost $190,000, a substantial figure for any vintage Mustang, Shelby or not. It was built near the end of Unique’s run so there are no others coming from that particular shop (there’s another shop currently building such cars, staffed largely by the truly talented guys who got left out in the cold when Unique Performance folded), so it’s definitely one of only two in existence. And with the legal troubles Unique faced, nobody’s quite sure what became of the first Eleanor convertible. Did the Feds seize it? Sold off in bankruptcy? Stolen? Repossessed by Shelby? Nobody seems to know and it hasn’t surfaced in the eight years since the company folded. So if you want a documented, Shelby-approved, Unique Performance Eleanor GT500E convertible, well, there’s only one and this is it. Looking at this car, it’s obvious that whatever management’s problems were, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the guys who actually built the cars. This car’s build quality easily exceeds the very best of what Shelby and Ford were doing in the 1960s and is representative of what a quarter-million dollars would buy in a high-end custom shop in the mid-2000s. It’s simply jaw-dropping in every way possible. There’s original Mustang sheetmetal skillfully blended with the Eleanor components that make these cars so special, and the transition from fastback to convertible was skillfully done so this car looks every bit as nasty as the cars in the film. Build quality, as I said, is pretty darned impressive. Unlike the original Shelbys, whose fiberglass pieces would fit better or worse depending on the temperature and humidity on the day it was assembled, this car has tight gaps, exacting panel alignment, and the modern composite pieces like the distinctive Unique Performance domed hood and Shelby-style deck lid are immune to those particular foibles. The nose cone carries an array of lights, all of which are fully functional, and it, too, fits flush with the surrounding bodywork, something that even Ford could never quite master. The side pipes are cleverly concealed inside flush-fitting side skirts and the rear fascia offers sequential Thunderbird-style taillights, although these appear to be modern components, not junkyard cast-offs. The paint, which is a pure, brilliant white rather than Ford’s softer Wimbledon White, is accentuated with black stripes, which, with the black interior, is a more consistent look than the blue stripes might have been, and it does carry the requisite “GT500E” insignia on the rockers. If you want a car that generates attention, I’ll admit that nothing I’ve ever driven does it better than this car. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, stops to watch this Mustang go by. Inside, it’s pure Mustang with a few modern upgrades to make it a no-compromises Mustang. The most noticeable change are those form-fitting Scat ProCar bucket seats, which you’ll probably need given the grip that the suspension generates. I can only imagine trying to drive this car with the slippery and flat original chairs—no thanks! Obviously everything inside is new, including the carpets, door panels, dash pad, and other Mustang components, and with so few miles, it’s all in as-new condition. The original dashboard and instrument panel remain intact, but the gauges are modern dials with Carroll Shelby’s signature on their faces, as well as a Cobra logo. And speaking of Ol’ Shel’s signature, it appears inside this car at least six times, and throughout the car perhaps 11 or 12 times, just in case you didn’t know what it was. In true Shelby style, there is no center console, but the shifter for the Tremec 5-speed manual gearbox is a trick billet aluminum piece that is as quick and precise as a toggle switch, but needs a firm hand to manage it. This is not a car you simply drive, you need to master it and with 450 horsepower on tap, you’d better be at the top of your game. But if you do decide to just go cruising, the GT500E will happily oblige with potent and functional A/C, a great-sounding Sony XPlod AM/FM/CD/MP3/iPod stereo system, and a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel. 5-point safety harnesses are a great feature in a car with this much potential and are properly installed with heavy-duty anchor plates in the floor. Back seat access is still quite good and you’ll note that the bench seat has been upholstered to match the modern buckets up front. Overhead there’s a beautifully fitted black canvas power convertible top with a stock-style folding glass rear window and it stows under a matching black boot that fits quite well, even with the custom 4-point roll bar in place. The only notable defect on the entire car is a blemish on the leading edge of the top, noticeable up close but not a big deal, especially since the top will likely stay out of sight for a majority of its life. It also offers a full-scale trunk with a neatly installed fuel cell in the floor and a very trick filler neck that attaches to the quarter panel’s billet flip-up style cap. As I said, the attention to detail on this car is very impressive. Horsepower is not an issue thanks to a 351 Windsor V8 punched out to 408 cubic inches. It’s a neat fit in the Mustang’s engine bay, and while the original GT500s were big block cars, this one makes big block power without the big block weight. As a result, it’s a nimble handler without sacrificing that big hit of torque that you get when you crack the throttle. That throttle is attached to a Hilborn-style fuel injection system with eight individual velocity stacks, which makes for a very impressive appearance when you open the hood. It also works like it should, because this car starts easily and idles perfectly, even when it’s cold, and the torque curve is more of a straight line with seemingly endless reserves at any speed. Everything under the hood is detailed for show, with polished aluminum, chrome, and anodized components throughout, including a trick billet serpentine accessory system that keeps everything humming along. Inner fenders are a textured material that’s probably indestructible and provides a nice background for the shiny hardware. There’s a giant aluminum radiator up front, again with Carroll Shelby’s signature on it and the car’s serial number, and even on warm days idling in traffic with the A/C on, it never threatens to overheat. Perhaps most importantly to collectors, the original Shelby VIN tag is still on the inner fender, proving that this car is, indeed, a certified genuine Shelby, with the “C” on the tail end denoting “convertible.” The chassis was heavily reinforced to make the GT500E a handler as well as a straight-line threat, a well-rounded performance car for the 21st century. The front suspension is familiar with A-arms and coil-over shocks, as well as a modern rack-and-pinion steering system for laser-sharp precision. The rear suspension is incredibly trick, and please take a good look at the photos because this is some truly spectacular engineering. It’s a familiar 9-inch, albeit with a nodular center section and 3.73 gears inside, but the inboard coil-over shocks on bell cranks provide improved axle control without the unsprung weight, so it rides and handles like a much younger car. There’s also a torque arm and a modified Watt’s linkage for lateral location, all hanging on a special tubular subframe to keep it locked down. The side pipes are fed by a custom-built exhaust system with special mufflers built especially for these cars and the soundtrack is simply spectacular. You’ll also notice subframe connectors to reinforce the drop-top’s tub, heavy-duty torque boxes, and giant vented and cross-drilled disc brakes at all four corners. Trick 17-inch Halibrand style wheels with knock-offs give it an authentic ‘60s Shelby look but allow the use of modern 245/40/17 front and 275/40/17 rear BFGoodrich G-Force radials that’ll bounce your eyeballs off the inside of your skull. How does it drive? Superbly. Turn the key and it starts instantly and idles perfectly right from the get-go. Power delivery is smooth and linear, the ride is supple but capable, and while it still feels like a vintage Mustang, no car built 45 years ago had this kind of performance. It’ll spin the tires in third gear if you get on it too hard, but the brakes are there to bail you out if you get in over your head. Nevertheless, this is not a car for amateurs or rookies, so be warned that they didn’t tame the animal, they merely put a suit on it and took it out on the town. With just under 700 miles on the build, it is still virtually new in every possible way. The paint is unmarked, the interior shows no signs of use, and everything works like it should. It’s still a vintage Mustang, but having enjoyed thousands of hours of attention, it’s something more today. Documented with original paperwork, including a written warranty and final delivery checklist, this is a highly pedigreed Shelby GT500E that stops everyone in their tracks when they first see it. It’s a one-owner car, too, so there’s an unbroken chain of ownership back to day one. There are plenty of Eleanor clones out there, and you can buy a lesser car for less money. But they’re all expensive and if you want a documented, one-of-two convertible from the guys that started it all, this is it. Protect your investment with a pedigree, and as a bonus, you also get one of the most beautifully finished and capable Mustangs we’ve ever seen. Extraordinary. Chock-full of Hollywood A-listers, it's a fast paced, high octane classic that twists and turns through two hours of adrenaline-fueled action. Here at RK, we are always seeing recreations of the main attraction of the movie - the 1967 Mustang GT500 known as Eleanor. But every now and again we come across cars like this 1967 Mustang GT500 convertible recreation, that use the famous Eleanor as inspiration while putting modern touches on it. This 428-powered resto-mod is a brilliant mix of performance and flash. At RK Motors Charlotte, we believe the only thing cooler than a car that runs well is a car that turns heads. And this red-hot Mustang is capable of smoking vintage metal at the cruise in AND the race track! Even though this Stang had humble beginnings being a pampered Colorado car for most of its life, today it sits in a vibrant orange and packing some serious FoMoCo power under the hood. Without a doubt the first thing your eye is drawn to with this vehicle is the spectacular orange paint scheme. If you guessed that it was a custom paint color you would be right. The story goes that the previous owner was an ex-House of Kolor representative and created the custom color specifically for this Mustang. Running down the center of the custom orange is painted carbon fiber stripes that add to the incredible overall look of this vehicle. Since most classic car enthusiasts credit Carroll Shelby with introducing some of the coolest and most aggressive Mustangs ever created, it's only natural that the builder opted for a slick Eleanor inspired design. At the car's leading edge, a billet, Shelby-style grille hangs chrome-trimmed headlights, a Shelby R valence and six PIAA driving lamps. At the top of that grille, an aggressive fiberglass hood aligns twist-style pins with clear glass, straight trim and Shelby-style quarter scoops. At the sides of that hood, a Shelby profile highlights traditional door handles, chrome, bullet-style mirrors, and subtle cove scoops. And at the back of that profile, the exhaust exits out in front of the rear tires, while a sculpted decklid hangs prominent like-new tail lights and a straight chrome bumper. Pop the car's lightweight orange hood and you'll find a 428 cubic inch big block V8 that gives new meaning to the words "Go Baby, Go"! Long regarded as one of the meanest mills ever created, Ford's fabled 428 FE remains as one of the kings of stoplight muscle. At the top of the Ford Blue block, a "COBRA" branded air cleaner funnels fresh wind into a big aluminum intake via dual 4-barrel carburetors. At the sides of that carburetor, finned "COBRA 428" valve covers hang over the headers. Aesthetically, the restored engine bay appears very close to an original, featuring an even coat of Satin Black paint. On the bottom of the hood you'll find more painted carbon fiber and the letters "GT500". In front of the engine an aluminum radiator is responsible for cooling the massive Ford block. Underneath this wildly custom Mustang is just as impressive as the rest of the vehicle. Put the GT500 on a lift and you'll see that bolted to the Ford block is a Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission that sends power to a 3.55 posi-differential. In front of the drivetrain you'll see the fully upgraded front suspension from Total Control. Equipped with a rack and pinion style setup, you'll also find adjustable coil over springs at all four corners of the vehicle. At the rear of the car a Chris Alston 4-link suspension setup, with sway bar, ensures that no corner will get the best of this Stang. Stopping power comes courtesy of Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes and, in front of those brakes, 17" Boze rims have been wrapped in Hankook rubber. The luxurious black leather interior is a lot like the rest of the car with a blend of modern and classic Shelby touches. The dashboard has been subtly remodeled to house bright white gauges with silver trim for a traditional, but updated appearance and much better functionality. On the floor like new black carpet flanks both sides of the upgraded center console where you'll find the controls for the 5-speed transmission. The shifter on top of the Tremec looks vintage and displays the correct 5-speed shift pattern. In front of the passenger seat you'll see where Carroll Shelby himself signed the dash. The builders declared that the project was finished only when they towed this Stang to the Shelby Museum and had Shelby himself sign the dash. Behind the driver you'll find a roll bar, and a two more seats that feature the same stitching pattern as the rest of the vehicle. The odometer shows only 238 shakedown miles since the build was completed, ensuring that this car is as good as it can possibly be. The beauty of a tribute car is that it can be anything you want it to be. Love the Shelby lines, but also want modern braking and tires? Just looking for a killer car that will wow crowds everywhere you go, and goes down the road like a much modern piece? Here it is. No compromises, no disclaimers, no excuses. This is every bit as nice as it looks in pictures, and the car's spec sheet bears out its 'no budget' build mentality. Heck, you couldn't duplicate this car for the money, and there are far less potent Mustang convertibles out there that cost more. What are you waiting for? Call now! It's a fully restored car that has plenty of custom touches to make you love this one like the unique classic it is. The customization of this Mustang is apparent from every angle. It starts up front with the GT-style fog light grille, and the front valance borrowed from the GT350 racers. But that's not the only Shelby touch. That hood scoop, and the dual stripes running the entire top of the car, make this fastback also look snake-bitten. There's other icons at work here, too. The fresh coat of a brilliant charcoal grey paint and the 17-inch Coys will get you plenty of "Hey Eleanor!" screams by Gone in 60 Seconds (2000) fans. But beneath all these great tributes to iconic pony cars lies the heart of one of the most desirable Mustangs. It always makes us happy to see good bodylines and paint like this on first-year 2+2 cars. The custom atmosphere continues inside. A pristine black interior is always desirable in a classic, and this one really goes the extra mile. It's a bucket seat car with a desirable custom center console that features cup holders. While you'll enjoy the three-spoke sports steering wheel, and clear original gauges, your eyes will always be drawn to the dashboard. That's because of the cool custom paintwork with racing stripes that matches the exterior. This one even keeps your passengers happy with ice-cold air conditioning, running modern R-134a, and an original-style AM/FM stereo that also has an iPod hookup for more modern tunes. A full restoration on a Mustang this cool would not be complete without an upgrade in the engine bay. This one is powered by an upgraded 302 cubic-inch V8 motor, which is larger than anything the factory gave the Mustang for 1965. The upgrades continue with the attention grabbing finned valve covers, Edelbrock performance air cleaner, and GT350-style support bar. What is a bit harder to spot are features like the Holley four-barrel carburetor, and the performance H-pipe fitting to the new Flowmaster dual exhaust system. But as much as this appears to be a pure performance machine, there are plenty of features that make this Mustang everyday friendly. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide for any state or local taxes and shipping expenses resulting from the sale. We can assist you in delivery through our network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody. 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T5,953 miles6 Speed ManualSunroofHeated Leather SeatsFactory 20" WheelsPerformance Exhaust If you've looked at all the bone stock Challenger R/T's on eBay and felt they just needed a little tweaking to make it right, this is probably the car for you. No accident, no paintwork, perfect history report/garage queen. Nicely equipped with all the goodies you want like Leather, Sunroof, Heated Seats, 20" wheels and of course a 6 Speed manual. What really makes this car stand out is the nearly $5,000 in bolt on, professionally installed mods. Like all modern day muscle cars these days - they sit too high so some Eibach Sportline Springs brought the car down just under 2" for a perfect rake. Next up was sound and not just a $300 muffler job: Borla XR1 Headers & Borla ATAK Catless Exhaust. To round off the sound & better breathing, a Diablo Tuner & K&N Cold Air Intake. All stock parts are included with sale in the event you wanted to go back to stock. Rounding out the appearance to match the sound/performance was full tint all around and the factory Chrome 20's (in perfect condition) done in matte black Plasti-Dip to toughen up the look. Easy remove/back to Chrome job if desired. Cosmetics are outstanding & the factory metallic black paint doesn't do itself justice in these pics until you catch it in the direct sunlight in person. Never smoked in, never eaten in, interior like new. Only thing worth mentioning is the Catless exhaust will throw codes 0420 & 0430 (cat error messages) on occasion as pictured below. Everything works. Nothing doesn't. Books, Keys, Manuals included. I specialize in nervous online eBay buyers.
