I CAN tell you that based on the Bentley Continental platform, it is my favorite car to drive on a daily basis, and even more so on a roadtrip. This particular example has spent all of it's life with one owner in New York City, hence the extremely low mileage. As you will notice in the many detailed photos below, this car is just Beautiful!! It does have some chips on the front bumper, and some rash on the wheels. It has not been detailed or serviced! It is EXACTY as traded, and is being sold as is, without any warranty. It has a clean accident free Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title IT HAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE!!!! It is completely driveable, as I have done so for 200+ miles. Basically it has a very weak reverse and a kinda weak low gear. Reverse is OK on the level. This car WILL NOT back up a hill!!! It drives fine in forward, with low gear being a bit touchy at times. The Check engine light is on due to the slippage in the transmission. My local dealer says it needs a transmission. They want 20 hours to install a used one, of which I located for $800.00. I did not get a price for a factory unit. You be the judge. Maybe you know someone who knows something I don't! Maybe you can fix it for less?? Maybe just drive it as is?? This car is a dream to drive! It has almost new tires on it, and it just floats down the highway. Remember, It only has 36,000 miles on it!! That is UNHEARD of in the Phaeton world! 1-Owner Jetta 2.5… My friend called me a month ago and asked if I’d be interested in selling his car for him before he shipped overseas to take a job with the government and I volunteered, so up for sale is his 2008 Jetta S 2.5 with a 5-speed manual transmission that he bought new from the Flemington VW dealer. The car is exceptionally nice with dealer service records since new, all service performed at correct mileage intervals and is just out of my brother-in-law’s shop with new back brakes and upgraded wheels and tires. I flipped the title into my name and have been driving the car for over a month on a daily basis and it’s as mechanically perfect as I can describe. The mechanicals are all excellent with a quick and quiet 2.5L motor. The 5-speed manual transmission feels excellent with a strong clutch and nice tight gearbox with no play, no pops, and no grinds. The brakes feel excellent with new rotors and pads as I mentioned. The suspension rides tight and the car tracks straight as an arrow. It is sitting on a set of factory 17” GTI wheels with very nice matching Falken tires all around, better than 75% tread life. If interested, I have the 16" steel wheels with a nice set of Goodyear tires that you can swap out for winter wheels. The only warning light illuminated is for tire pressure and it is probably just a sensor as they hold air fine. The car passed a pre-sale inspection at a local shop before he handed it over to me and it went through with flying colors. I have taken the car to upstate New York and it has been used locally as my daily driver and it’s a true pleasure to drive. The car doesn’t leak or burn any fluids. The inside is like-new without exception. The cloth heated seats are immaculate, carpets are spotless, headliner perfect and no surfaces show any wear and tear or major marks. All the power options work correctly including the A/C, heat, cruise control, windows and locks. The car has never been smoked in. The body of the car is a very nice. The black paint shines nicely with no fading or peeling of the clear coat. There are no dents. The only cosmetic flaws are one scuff on the driver rear bumper that scratched the paint, normal stone chips on the noise, and a couple small dings and scratches but certainly an above average and beautifully kept car head-to-toe. A few small rust bubbles have formed on the edge of the front of the hood. The wheels provide a nice special appearance. I have a complete CarFax for it. It shows it as a two-owner car because my friend had his parents co-sign when purchased it new. Every service receipt from the VW dealer shows his name since new and it is a one-owner car. When he moved to Washington D.C. for work, he re-registered the car in his own name. The car is being driven daily until a final sale. It is being sold with a clear Pennsylvania title in my name. It can be seen in the New Hope, Pa. and Lambertville, NJ area. You’ll simply love the car! I have travelled across America twice in Ghia; I have delighted in every single ride in Ghia, regardless of whether Ghia has, from time to time, not been able to get me all of the way home [ gas pedal cable break, shift cable snap, out of gas, and, indeed, just outside of Beaver, Utah, during BeaverFest [where grown men dress up as beavers], a blown engine ]. i purchased this 1973 karmann ghia coupe in 1989, in los angeles California; I am the second owner, the first owner having put approximately 63,000 miles on the Ghia. thus a 25 year relationship between car and man flourished; this car is a family member, with all of the requisite joys, disappointments, and surprises any familial relationship affords. I have travelled across America twice in Ghia; I have delighted in every single ride in Ghia, regardless of whether Ghia has, from time to time, not been able to get me all of the way home [ gas pedal cable break, shift cable snap, out of gas, and, indeed, just outside of Beaver, Utah, during BeaverFest [where grown men dress up as beavers], a blown engine ]. Sometimes, Ghia was beat up at the playground [ the challenges to keeping a perfect Ghia ‘nose’ are not to be exaggerated ]; I have always taken care of Ghia [ most of the records of maintenance, repair, and bodywork have been kept ] interestingly, Ghia has been earning her keep in recent years; Cooper Classic Cars in New York has regularly ‘hired’ Ghia for a variety of print and film work, including the J Crew Catalog, Target, and countless fashion shoots – true provenance ! The unique aspect of this particular Ghia is that it is extremely well maintained as well as being a driven vehicle; granted, ever since the purchase of a Volvo C30, I have averaged a 10 mile trip about town once a month or so, this car is not locked away in some museum-like environment; it get outs, to see and be seen. Every little thing, from a faulty light, to the occasional mysterious noise, is lovingly fixed, or coddled , by Gene’s Foreign Car Service in Broomall, Pennsylvania, Ironically, Gene’s is the best ‘doctor’ Ghia has ever had; no California repair shop can even come close to the expert maintenance offered at Gene’s. The fact is, it is time to allow this family member to fly the nest. I am not able to give over to Ghia the time it deserves to continue to see the world and be seen. I have given it one last spa treatment, overseen by Brent Morgan Motor Cars, in West Chester, PA. Ghia is absolutely glowing now…and I am ready to hand it over the lucky individual who will no doubt be celebrating Ghia’s 50th year in 2023. With Ghia, you will blink and the years will fly by. It a last bit of irony, the two perfect bumpers I ordered for replacement have now become one perfect bumper, and one with a dent; I think the universe was trying to tell me I had to leave a few things for the next owner to prove his/her fealty to Ghia …but it still does not detract from the Happy Ghia factor. 1. I purchased this 1973 karmann ghia coupe in 1989, in Los Angeles, California; I am the second owner, the first owner having put approximately 63,000 miles on the Ghia. Thus a 25 year relationship between car and man flourished; this car is a family member, with all of the requisite joys, disappointments, and surprises any familial relationship affords. I have travelled across America twice in Ghia; I have delighted in every single ride in Ghia, regardless of whether Ghia has, from time to time, not been able to get me all of the way home [ gas pedal cable break, shift cable snap, out of gas, and, indeed, just outside of Beaver, Utah, during BeaverFest [where grown men dress up as beavers], a blown engine ]. Sometimes, Ghia was beat up at the playground [ the challenges to keeping a perfect Ghia ‘nose’ are not to be exaggerated ]; I have always taken care of Ghia [ most of the records of maintenance, repair, and bodywork have been kept ] Interestingly, Ghia has been earning her keep in recent years; Cooper Classic Cars in New York has regularly ‘hired’ Ghia for a variety of print and film work, including the J Crew Catalog, Target, and countless fashion shoots – true provenance ! And not bad that a 40 year old car can earn money for her keep. The unique aspect of this particular Ghia is that it is extremely well maintained as well as being a driven vehicle; granted, ever since the purchase of a Volvo C30, I have averaged a 10 mile trip about town once a month or so, this car is not locked away in some museum-like environment; it get outs, to see and be seen. Every little thing, from a faulty light, to the occasional mysterious noise, is lovingly fixed, or coddled , by Gene’s Foreign Car Service in Broomall, Pennsylvania, Ironically, Gene’s is the best ‘doctor’ Ghia has ever had; no California repair shop can even come close to the expert maintenance offered at Gene’s. Just traded in this week, 2005 Jetta Wagon GLS, 5 speed manual. This cars are hard to find in a wagon with a manual transmission. Really clean, lady owned and runs great. No issues of any kind. The timing belt was replaced at 90k, Front brakes and rotors were just replaced along with a fresh oil change. The carfax shows an accident, but it was very minor involving front right side bumper which was a bit scratched. The car comes with all 3 keys, owners manual and original floor mats.
