Service and Inspection Report – Value Added: We brought this clean Volvo in for service and found that the prior owner had taken great care of the car.  It appears to have been regularly serviced and traded in about the time that you would normally do a major service on the vehicle. We stared by installing a NEW TIMING BELT, TENSIONER and IDLER PULLEY.  These are the major components of the timing belt system.  That’s done for you.  While doing timing belts, we replace spark plugs since it is a good time to freshen up everything on the engine.  We installed Denso® brand plugs so you won’t have to be concerned with that service, either. We changed the engine air filter and vacuumed the road debris that can accumulate in the air box. It appears that the prior owner had recently done an oil change and the oil looks clean. We also noted that the idler wheel on the serpentine belt was a bit noisy at startup (that’s the part that keeps the belt tensioned) so we replaced the idler wheel and bearing assembly. Moving along to the chassis, the front brakes were about half worn so we replaced front brake rotors and pads.  The rear brakes were about half worn too, so we replaced the rear pads. Moving along the outside of the vehicle, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear, and also on the headlight wipers. We finished up this vehicle be changing the cabin air filter.  It is a job that you want done every year and we’ve taken care of that for you. Service and Inspection Report – Value Added: We brought this clean Volvo in for service and found that the prior owner had taken great care of the car.  It appears to have been regularly serviced.   Since we could not verify the mileage for the last timing belt, we did the service.  Doing the job right, we installed NEW CAM SEALS, NEW VVT O-RINGS, NEW TIMING BELT, tensioner and idler wheel.  When we do timing belts, we replace the spark plugs and we installed a new set of Denso® brand plugs.  That’s a major service and it’s done for you!   Using our Snap-On Solus® diagnostic scanner, we noticed some shift solenoid codes which are common on the AW-55 transmission.  What happens is that the electronic shift solenoids stick and the shift quality is not as good as when new.  However, the transmissions in these vehicles can go a long time with service.  So, we replaced the electronic shift solenoids in the valve body and did a complete transmission fluid change using the correct Mobile 3309 fluid.  This procedure took care of the codes, and now shifts as designed.   Test driving the vehicle after the transmission service, we noticed a slight vibration at highway speeds under load.  That’s a sign of the drive axle needing service, so we replaced both front drive axles with remanufactured units.  No more vibration!   While changing the drive axles, we changed the top engine mount as well as the lower right.  Over time both are about ready for change at this mileage and we did both of them for you.    The prior owner had recently done an oil change and the service label indicates that the next oil change is at 149k miles.   On the chassis, we noted a noise from the front suspension and traced it down to the coil spring mount.  We pulled both struts and replaced the mounts and bearings for you – no more noise.   While we had the vehicle apart for service, we noted that the vehicle had close to new brakes, front and rear.   Moving along the outside of the vehicle, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear.   As we drove the vehicle, the climate control worked fine but we heard the occasional chirp noise from the blower motor.  So, yes we did, we replaced the blower motor so that you wouldn’t have to be bothered by the job.   We finished up this vehicle be changing the cabin air filter.  It is a job that you want done every year and we’ve taken care of that for you.   Shop around and then ADD IT UP!  Why buy one that needs work?  How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself?  The items that we serviced would easily cost you $4,500 if you did all of this after the sale.    You can always pay less.  Just click the “back” button and buy something else?  However, if you are looking for a better value, buy from Grove.  That’s the Grove Automotive Group, Inc. difference. Service and Inspection Report: We brought this very clean Volvo in for service and didn’t find a lot to do. The prior owner had taken very good care of the vehicle and the paint, interior and vehicle show very well. For starters, we did an oil/filter change using the correct Volvo sealing washer on the drain plug, along with a new engine cap oil seal. Volvo makes the maintenance very inexpensive on these vehicles by specifying convention oil. While we had the oil out, we noticed that the dipstick end was a little brittle so we installed an new engine oil dipstick. We also installed a new timing belt, seals, tensioner and idler so that you know that’s done. We install new spark plugs when we do timing belts. We use Denso® brand plugs which are original equipment on most Volvos. Moving along to the chassis, we found the brakes good, both front and rear. Turning out attention to the climate control, we checked the system and it operates as designed. We installed a new cabin air filter for you. Going around the vehicle, we replaced the LH lower tail light as it had a small crack and also installed new headlight wiper blades. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. Shop around and then ADD IT UP! Why buy one that needs work? How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself? Service and Inspection Report: We brought this clean S60 into the shop for service and found things to be in very good order. We did go ahead and perform the major service items so you know that they have been done. For starters, we did an oil/filter change, installing a correct aluminum sealing washer on the drain plug. We also installed a new seal on the oil cap since the original had become hard and brittle. Volvo allows you to service the seal separately from the cap. Additionally, Volvo specifies conventional oil in these vehicles making your maintenance costs quite low. Since we had already removed most of the components and cleaned the engine, we decided to install a NEW TIMING BELT that included belt, tensioner and idler pulley. This vehicle was still wearing the original belt, so, as usual, we installed a new one for you. We always replace spark plugs using Denso™ brand when doing timing belts on Volvo vehicles and those are new, as well. Finishing up under the hood, we checked the air filter and vacuumed out the air intake box. Those tend to accumulate debris like leaves and sand, so we cleaned that out for you. Looking over the chassis, the front brakes were about half pad, so we installed new front pads for you. The rear pads look fine. Most dealers would have just “let ‘er go” but half pad is time for replacement in my book. Going over the climate control system, everything seemed to be in good order. We changed the cabin air filter for you. On the interior, the center tray that houses the cup holders was broken. We went ahead and installed a new assembly for you and that required us to remove the console to perform the repair. Most dealers would have just “let ‘er go” and talked about dogs or rhubarb pie to distract you from the broken console. Not us. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades. Shop around and then ADD IT UP! Why buy one that needs work? How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself? Using our Snap-On Solus® diagnostic scanner, we noticed some shift solenoid codes which are common on the early AW-55 transmission. What happens is that the electronic shift solenoids stick and the shift quality is not as good as when new. However, the transmissions in these vehicles can go a long time with service. So, we replaced the electronic shift solenoids in the valve body and did a complete transmission fluid change using the correct Mobile 3309 fluid. This procedure took care of the codes, and now shifts as designed. While under the vehicle, we noticed that one of the motor mounts was soft so we replaced it. Most dealers would have “let ‘er go” but we don’t mind doing a little extra so you don’t have to. Finishing up under the hood, we checked the air filter and vacuumed out the air intake box. Those tend to accumulate debris like leaves and sand, so we cleaned that out for you. Looking over the chassis, the brakes looked good, both front and rear. Service and Inspection Report: We brought this nice XC70 in for service and found things in very good order. There were a few things in need of attention to bring it up to our standards. For starters, we did an oil/filter change, installing a correct aluminum sealing washer on the drain plug. We also installed a new seal on the oil cap since the original had become hard and brittle. Volvo allows you to service the seal separately from the cap. Continuing under the hood, we decided to install a NEW TIMING BELT that included belt, tensioner and idler pulley. We couldn’t determine if the belt had been changed, so, as usual, we installed a new one for you. We always replace spark plugs using Denso™ brand when doing timing belts on Volvo vehicles and those are new, as well. While servicing the timing belt, we noted that the lower outer motor mount was in need of replacement so we installed a new one. Those mounts are typically good for 10 years or so and rather than “let ‘er go” like most dealers, we put the new part in for you. Using our Snap-On Solus® diagnostic scanner, we noticed some shift solenoid codes which are common on the early AW-55 transmission. What happens is that the electronic shift solenoids stick and the shift quality is not as good as when new. However, the transmissions in these vehicles can go a long time with service. So, we replaced the electronic shift solenoids in the valve body and did a complete transmission fluid change using the correct Mobile 3309 fluid. This procedure took care of the codes, and now shifts as designed. Finishing up under the hood, we installed new hood lift struts since those kept the hood open, but in cold weather we had our doubts. Also, we inspected the air filter and vacuumed out the air intake box. Those tend to accumulate debris like leaves and sand, so we cleaned that out for you. Looking over the chassis, the brakes looked good, both front and rear. We did notice some noise coming from the suspension so we installed new upper strut mounts, spring seat isolators and sway bar bushings. Now, it is very tight. Going over the climate control system, everything seemed to be in good order. We changed the cabin air filter for you. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. i purchased this 1973 karmann ghia coupe in 1989, in los angeles California; I am the second owner, the first owner having put approximately 63,000 miles on the Ghia. thus a 25 year relationship between car and man flourished; this car is a family member, with all of the requisite joys, disappointments, and surprises any familial relationship affords. I have travelled across America twice in Ghia; I have delighted in every single ride in Ghia, regardless of whether Ghia has, from time to time, not been able to get me all of the way home [ gas pedal cable break, shift cable snap, out of gas, and, indeed, just outside of Beaver, Utah, during BeaverFest [where grown men dress up as beavers], a blown engine ]. Sometimes, Ghia was beat up at the playground [ the challenges to keeping a perfect Ghia 'nose' are not to be exaggerated ]; I have always taken care of Ghia [ most of the records of maintenance, repair, and bodywork have been kept ] interestingly, Ghia has been earning her keep in recent years; Cooper Classic Cars in New York has regularly 'hired' Ghia for a variety of print and film work, including the J Crew Catalog, Target, and countless fashion shoots -- true provenance ! The unique aspect of this particular Ghia is that it is extremely well maintained as well as being a driven vehicle; granted, ever since the purchase of a Volvo C30, I have averaged a 10 mile trip about town once a month or so, this car is not locked away in some museum-like environment; it get outs, to see and be seen. Every little thing, from a faulty light, to the occasional mysterious noise, is lovingly fixed, or coddled , by Gene's Foreign Car Service in Broomall, Pennsylvania, Ironically, Gene's is the best 'doctor' Ghia has ever had; no California repair shop can even come close to the expert maintenance offered at Gene's. Looking over the chassis, the brakes looked good in the front but we installed new rotors and pads in the rear. Going over the climate control system, everything seemed to be in good order. We changed the cabin air filter for you. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. Shop around and then ADD IT UP! Why buy one that needs work? Rare Opportunity............................LOW RESERVE Extra Nice Cadillac!! Greetings to All!! imotors is quite pleased to offer possibly one of the nicest 1960 Caddys Available anywhere! 1960, IMHO was the re-designed '59!! We ALL love 1959 Cadillacs, with those huge fins, and quad bullet tail lights. I spent many hours in one as a child, and those memories are etched in my mind forever!! I am now 61, and that was at least 50 years ago! We travelled from Pittsburgh, Pa to Milwaukee Wisconsin in one more than once. Four small children in the backseat with no DVD players, or even a walkman!! I am surprised that we all survived!! This particular example has spent most of it's life in New York State. I purchased it from a fellow who just did not have the means to care for it properly, or bring it to the level that you see here. I believe that it has had one repaint sometime in it's life. It is mechanically fantastic with fresh brakes(lines, cylinders etc.), and new dual exhaust from front to back. The floors and frame are totally solid and original, with no patching noted anywhere. We had the car painted from the molding down, and Expertly re-patched the bottoms of both front fenders. The chrome is bright and shiny with some light pitting on the trunk molding that you can feel, and some on the rear bumper that you can't feel, but can see on close up inspection. You will note in the many detailed photos below, that there is a small rust hole in the right rear bumper end. Easily repaired or replaced next winter while the Caddy is in storage! The Fawn interior is original with the exception of the front seat, and the headliner. Both have been expertly restored with original materials from SMS by the famous Weimann's interiors in Delmont, Pa! As you will see in the photos below, it is simply Gorgeous, and looks just like it did in 1960!! There is one typical crack in the dashpad. I decided to let the lucky new owner decide what to do with this...Dash cap, or new pad, or leave as is. Everything works as it should with the exception of the clock, and the power antenna. All power windows and seat, along with the AM Radio. What is nice about this one is that is has Factory installed A/C that blows cold! This is a Gorgeous 1960 Cadillac that runs and drives fantastic. It always starts right up, and has been ultra-dependable!!! I have driven it a few hundred miles with no noted issues. It has been a pleasure, and rides just as you would expect a Cadillac to ride...like you are on a cloud! As you will notice at the end of the presentation, there is a trail of ownership from 1960 until now. Long term ownership indicates care and pride, which I believe this 1960 Cadillac has enjoyed it's entire life!!! As with all classic and collectable vehicles, this 1960 Cadillac is being sold without warranty. It has a clean Pennsylvania title that reads exempt for mileage. This side is also nice and solid! I believe that this was one of the most Luxurious Sedans ever built. Everywhere you look there is a special attention to detail and craftsmanship!! Pure Class and Luxury I love the headlight covers. They are so period! I was told that they are called "Sleepy Eyes". They enable you to use High Beams all the time!!! WAY Cool!!! I consider this gorgeous work of art "Automotive Jewelry". The door panels are totally original! The front seat has been completely restored with original fabric from SMS.....It looks like it did in 1960! The headliner has also been replaced with one from SMS....It is just Beautiful!! The rear seat is totally original, as are the carpets. The rear shelf is lovely! Just Gorgeous. The original dash pad is nice and straight, with only one crack. I decided to let the next caretaker decide what to do with this! IIce cold factory installed Air Conditioning! The trunk is also original, and is in really nice condition, with all tools and jacking equipment present!! As I am not a "rattle can" artist, I decided to leave the engine compartment as found. The new owner can decide whether to leave it original, or freshen it up a bit, or do a full blown detail. TNote the original A/C compressor with the factory stampings!!
