The motor has no rattle on startup or cold starts. It has never had any history of these issues either. The tires are Hankook Ventus V12. They are fairly new. They have about 95% tread left and were recently installed. The car has always been kept indoors and detailed very frequently. There are no door dings or scratches on the paint. It has always been washed with a two-bucket method and dried with only high quality microfiber towels to maintain a swirl free finish. The paint and interior has been professionally detailed and maintained it's entire life. The paint is always cleaned and detailed frequently to prevent any etching or marring. The interior is spotless as well. The leather seats are cleaned and conditioned once a month. There have never been any pets or food allowed in the car. I am a non-smoker and am highly allergic to smoke scent. The interior is always kept tidy and spotless like the exterior. The rear seats have been used only a handful of times. The original tool kit and manuals are also where they belong. These cars are now gaining respect as of one of the greatest Grand Touring Supercars of the 1970's, with their stunning design, both aesthetically and mechanically. This car is finished in the very desirable color scheme of red with tan trim, and the existing red paint is the factory original. This car was recently purchased from it's longtime owner on the East Coast, where it was residing in a heated garage. This car is hugely original and mostly untouched. It was last running and driving approximately 6-8 years ago. It sustained some light body damage from an overhead door while at a mechanic's shop having the carburetor set rebuilt. The bodywork was repaired at that time, but the car was never painted and the few items re-assembled. It was stored indoors since then, and is now available to be purchased by it's next caretaker. This is a nice low mile Cadillac that runs perfect, has 2016 registration, current smog check, no accidents and clean Carfax and clean title. It is one of the most rare colors. This is a nice 2000 Insight with a clean title. It is a nice car that gets great gas mileage because of the design of the car. It is made of high strength aluminum, has the preferred 5 speed transmission and weighs only 2200 pounds. That is 1000 pounds less than the Toyota Prius. It has a newly replaced IMA hybrid battery at the Honda Dealer on August 28th 2013 at 169,253 miles. It is the rarest color that Honda used for the 1st Gen Insight and is called "Citrus". Many Insight collectors say this color will be the only Insight that will actually be collectable in the very near future. I have not detailed it so it is dusty in the photos. Overall I'd give the paint a 9 out of 10. There are no blemishes beyond normal wear. The interior is stain free and it is clean. The tires are the recommended Bridgestone Potenza's, in good condition at 80% tread I'd say and the wheels are in good shape. The a/c blows cold and the heater works. Everything operates as it should. The IMA battery charges as it should and the autostop works perfectly because it is virtually brand new. My car comes with a cargo net for the back area and also the zipper bag Honda made available on certain models. It shifts as it should with no downshift grind. All VIN stickers are where they should be, even on the back bumper cover. This is an important question to ask other sellers. If you are paying top dollar for a 1st Gen Insight you need an accident free Insight which this is. If it is missing vin stickers you should ask why before buying. These cars last well into the 400,000 miles mark and will also go up in value because they are rare finds. Honda built very few of these cars world wide. Even Jay Leno, an avid car collector, says the 1st Generation Insight will soon be collectors items. They cost $30,000 to build. Honda still services them also. This model of Honda Insight is still to this day the absolute king of mpg of all hybrids. Sure you can buy an all electric Chevy Volt or even a Tesla but do you really want to spend $45,000 to $70,000 on a car that has a charge rate of just 5 miles per hour? Talk about limitations. I see these poor electric car owners waiting in line just so they can grab a quick 15 minute charge at one of 2 or maybe 3 charging stations at the local mall, so they are not stuck and need to walk home. I guess this is just part of electric car ownership. For basically the price of a used Ford Focus you buy my car and get 55+ miles per gallon or more depending on how you drive. You can literally drive for 600 miles without stopping for gas in my car. Where I live that is a trip to Las Vegas and back on 1 tank of fuel! The 1st Gen Insight was introduced into the US a full 7 months before the Toyota Prius so was the very 1st Hybrid on the market. Even today in 2016 no Prius or other hybrid car can beat my car's mpg. Sold new in Santa Ana, CA, the car was fully restored a few years back and taken down to bare metal prior to repaint. Slotted between the Ford Mustang and the Ford Thunderbird, the Cougar would be the performance icon and eventually the icon for the Mercury name for several decades. The Cougar was available in two models (base and XR-7) and only came in one body style (a two-door hardtop). Engine choices ranged from the 200 hp 289 in3 two-barrel V8 to the 335 hp 390 in four-barrel V8. A notable performance package called the GT was available on both the base and XR-7 Cougars. This included the 390 in V8, as well as a performance handling package and other performance enhancements. The 1967 Cougar, with the internal code T-7, went on sale September 30, 1966. It was based on the 1967 refaced first-generation Mustang,but with a 3-inch-longer wheelbase and new sheet metal. A full-width divided grille with hidden headlamps and vertical bars defined the front fascia—it was sometimes called the electric shaver grille. At the rear, a similar treatment saw the license plate surrounded on both sides with vertically slatted grillework concealing taillights (with sequential turn signals), a styling touch taken from the Thunderbird. A deliberate effort was made to give the car a more "European" flavor than the Mustang, at least to American buyers' eyes. Aside from the base model and the luxurious XR-7, only one performance package was available for either model: the sporty GT. The XR-7 model brought a simulated wood-grained dashboard with a full set of black-faced competition instruments and toggle switches, an overhead console, a T-type center automatic transmission shifter (if equipped with the optional Merc-O-Matic transmission), and leather/vinyl upholstery. This was the only generation with covered headlights, which were deployed using a vacuum canister system that kept the doors down when a vacuum condition existed in the lines, provided by the engine when it was running. If a loss of vacuum occurred, the doors would retract up so that the headlights were visible if the system should fail. Mercury was serious about the Cougar being the performance icon for the company. The XR7-G, named for Mercury road racer Dan Gurney, came with all sorts of performance add-ons, including a hood scoop, Lucas fog lamps, and hood pins. Engine selection was limited only to the 302, 390, and 428 V8. A total of 619 XR7-Gs were produced, and only 14 Gs were produced with the 428 CJ. The 7.0-L GT-E package was available on both the standard and XR-7 Cougars and came with the 427 V8. The 428 Cobra Jet Ram Air was available in limited numbers on the GT-E beginning 1 April 1968. Conservatively rated at 335 hp, the 428 Cobra Jet could produce much more from the factory. A total of 394 GT-Es were produced, 357 with the 427 and 37 with the 428. The GT-E came with power front disc brakes as standard. The Eliminator performance package appeared for the first time in 1969. A 351-in3 four-barrel Windsor V8 was standard under the hood, with the 390 four-barrel V8, the 428CJ and the Boss 302 available as options. The Eliminator also featured a blacked-out grille, special side stripes, front and rear spoilers, an optional Ram Air induction system, a full gauge package including tachometer, upgraded "Decor" interior trim, special high-back bucket seats, rally wheels, raised white letter tires and a performance-tuned suspension and handling package. It also came in a variety of vibrant colors, such as White, Bright Blue Metallic, Competition Orange, and Bright Yellow. Only two Cougars were produced with the Boss 429 V8, making them the rarest Cougars ever built. Both were factory drag cars, built for "Fast Eddie" Schartman and "Dyno" Don Nicholson. In 1970, the upgraded "Décor" interior and styled steel wheels, standard '69 Eliminator equipment, were moved to the options list for the 1970 Eliminator. 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback, 390 V8 Automatic. Beautiful original car. My personal vehicle which I bought from the original owner whom bought it new from Dunton Ford in Santa Ana, California. Will deliver for free to the lower 48 States for the Buy It Now Price. This is a one of a kind classic car. It is not a restored show car but it is in excellent condition. It can be driven daily and is quite capable of cruising across the country at high speeds. A very reliable car due to being maintained regardless of cost. I have mostly used it for driving between my home in California and my second home in Canada. I just drove it from Santa Barbara, California 2200 miles to Canada last weekend. It barely had a break the whole trip completing it in 36 hours. Cruising at 80 mph the majority of the journey it returned 18 mpg and it never missed a beat. I have made the trip several times in this car and it has always been perfectly reliable, I would trust it to drive me anywhere. That's how reliable and usable this 47 year old classic is. As mentioned above, I purchased this car from the original owner. He had driven it for about 10 years and then placed it in dry storage up until I bought it which is why it is so well preserved. I have all of the original documentation and handbooks in excellent condition. The paint is original, the interior is original and it is all in excellent time warp condition just showing minimal wear. The condition is best described as if this was a well cared for used 68 Galaxie Fastback that you were buying in the late 70's when it was around 10 years old. That's the kind of condition it is in. I have maintained this car meticulously. When I bought it I had all new brakes fitted including rotors, pads, drums, linings, brake lines, brake hoses, brake booster and master cylinder. It is a factory power disc brake car so it stops very well. I replaced the rear suspension arms and bushings with high quality ones which can be greased. I also recently had the carburetor fully rebuilt so it starts and runs perfectly hot or cold. And the transmission had a new modulator fitted earlier this year because it had started to leak slightly. The factory AC works very well and I had it serviced and re-filled with R12 Freon this past summer. Everything works on this car exactly how it did in 1968. The 390 V8 is original to the car and in excellent condition. It is very smooth and runs beautifully with huge torque. It embarrasses many modern cars on long steep mountain grades, it just doesn't slow down no matter how steep the hill. The transmission shifts perfectly and the 9 inch rear end is quiet with no leaks. The only thing that isn't stock on this Galaxie is a very expensive custom hidden audio system I had fitted with Ipod connection. This cannot be seen as I did not want to ruin the time warp interior but it is very convenient with good sound quality. Also it has a high quality stainless steel exhaust system. Otherwise this car is exactly as it left the factory. These cars have beautifully clean styling and are a 1 year only bodystyle. Probably one of the purest looking classic American cars in Fastback form. This is a beautiful classic American car that gets a lot of attention and looks. This is not some restored show car, it is a beautifully preserved and original 2 owner car that still gets driven everywhere at high speeds just like it would have done in 1968. This Galaxie is rust free throughout. The frame and floors are as good as new. A pleasure to own and drive, the most satisfying car I have ever owned.
